RAM needs to follow CW in recruiting. He knows UH will never get the top American talent. Go international for the creme. They don’t care about college status

The difficulty about recruiting for women internationally is the top young women like egonu, haak, go pro MUCH earlier than the men do. So a lot of the international talent that is eligible isn’t the best of the best like the men’s are. Hellvig was amazing however

I see! However I wonder what UH womens volleyball would look like with Wade at the helm.

Charlie Wade was an asst. coach under Shoji. He is doing great as the mens coach and Robyn is coming into her own as the women’s coach. Charlie didn’t have national winners during the first three years of his tenure so what’s the beef? I am sorry. I think Robyn is doing a great job. She is sincere and humble. She is not flashy. Her girls love her. She brought in Hellvig and there is another international player coming in next year. And, I think I read somewhere that one of the international men’s player had actually talked to Rosey.

I am sorry for the rant but someone pushed my button.

Also, not to take anything away from mens volleyball as I love both teams but someone said that women’s volleyball is Beyonce and mens is Solange. We are comparing apples and oranges.

Robyn and her staff are doing a fantastic job!!!
I feel really proud that she is the head coach!!!

Some international recruits were/are thru networking. Yes…it was Rosenmeier who got Wade onto Humler. Thelle got to UH from Hendrix Mol. UH landed Dimi on their own but probably got 2020 OH from Greece Spyros Chakas thru Dimi.

Lots of hard work and good luck in landing international players. Even more paperwork to prepare.

I like a mixture of international and US recruits. To provide a better experience for all. The US kids can teach the international kids about the US way of life and visa versa.

    from previous thread ICYMI
Freshman Chaz Galloway won’t be with team until Saturday. He had dental surgery over break and couldn’t fly until then.
    2. Ah Mow is doing just fine recruiting. The name Hawaii still has status in international circles. especially the pedigree that Ah Mow and Ljungqvist have.
    4. It would look different because Wade would have recruited differently
Wade doing well with the men and Ah Mow is doing well with the Wahine.
    5. yes, i wrote a story about Hummler last year that mentioned Rosenmeier talking to him when they were both playing in Europe a couple of summers ago.
    6. Agree. apples and oranges.
    7. Given what Ah Mow and staff had to work with in 17 and 18, IMHO they overachieved when finishing second in Big West and getting into NCAA tournament. With her first real recruiting class playing in 19, you see where the program is heading.
