  9. Chicken Grease September 16, 2017 7:57 pm

Uh. Just why is Coach Ah Mow challenging at a point when: Wahine 21, NAU 12 score?

Don’t make bachi for the program, please, Coach.

  10. Cindy Luis September 16, 2017 7:58 pm

Maglio with her 7th kill, ends it 25-12.

  11. Cindy Luis September 16, 2017 8:00 pm

Is Burns Hurt? Surprise she didn’t start this weekend.

  16. 808wahine September 16, 2017 9:41 pm

    9. I was glad that Robyn challenged that call. it was less about the point (we were well ahead) as it was about getting the kill for Mackenna Ross. She is an incredible athlete and played awesome tonight.

  17. warriorwahine September 16, 2017 10:07 pm

    9. CONCUR. mckenna ross was also awesome for mckenna granato tonight and deserves to have the kill stat to her rather than an error stat

did i miss something yesterday, but i like not only is faith ma’afala a robust setter but also a wicked jump topspin server and a true spin server at that!

now coach robyn has 5 jump/spin servers, now thats na wahine we need – more aggressive. especially when all adversity goes wrong, serve tough and serve it anyway.

also its nice that it is not necessary nor always necessary to sub out for serving and let emily magnum and kendra serve as decent servers/backrow

  18. warriorwahine September 16, 2017 10:09 pm

forgot to add i also like emilys magnum and kendras smashing the kills tonight

  19. Bleachercoach September 16, 2017 10:25 pm

Really like what I saw the past 2 matches.
Even though NAU is not the same caliber as UCLA , BYU , or San Diego. I saw the vast improvement in their blocking, passing, and putting the ball down aggressively. I love how the coach would insert her players off the bench. It really builds morale to all the bench players. McKenna Ross looks great in the backrow with Savannah. She can pass, serve, and is that little terminator. Great TEAM weekend!

Checking the wahine from Amsterdam. Great to hear that McKenna is getting the recognition she deserves!

Don’t like our record heading into conference play, but we’ll find out how we stack up….

UcIrvive comes in @12-1 HUGE GAME.

  22. famlb September 17, 2017 5:15 pm

I watched the match from France!

  23. Maverick September 17, 2017 7:44 pm

UC Irvine is going to take a lot of losses in conference. They haven’t played a difficult schedule, and their best RPI opponent, Louisville (6-4), swept them. UCI has the worst SOS of all the BW teams, 266th out of 334 Div I teams. Not impressed.

UH up to 87 in estimated RPI rank. Poly at 24. Good for Poly, which is good for UH. Circle Oct 7–home match versus Poly. That match will tell us how good UH, and Poly, are.

    22. Very cool!

  24. Maverick September 17, 2017 8:21 pm

    More RPI info:
Big West has a 58-52 (.527) record, with one non-conf match left (11/25: Davis vs CSU). Current SOS record is 674-656, or .507.

Last year, the BW was 59-59 non-conference, SOS was .534, and had a final RPI rank of 9 out of 32 conferences (including tournament: UH was 1-1).

Right now, I think Poly has a better shot at an at-large than UH. Poly has the Wichita State win, while UH must rely on a less impressive win over Baylor, plus a ton more non-conference losses (better opponents, but you still need to beat some of them). If Poly gets the AQ and UH doesn’t win at least one over them, then it will be a nail-biter decision for UH to get at-large.

Does anyone know WHEN the next date(s) will be when we’ll hear news/names of either possible recruits or signed recruits? Seems most schools have secured their quota of verbals for 2018 and we still have two possible openings. Not sure if Coach will extend billets to 2019 or 2020. Any thoughts?

This year’s team is going to be special. They continue to visibly IMPROVE from one week to the next and are playing very competitive Vball. Go Wahine!

    new thread up for Monday
    a couple of things
Burns has a knee brace. think it was from when she tripped and went down that last match against Baylor.
A couple of recruits were in over the weekend. They have a couple of verbals for 2018 but NLI is in November
this is who I’ve had mentioned in the past. Although I’m not sure if Light is still on the list
    – Trinity Castaneda (6’1″ Outside) California/Shadow Hills HS

    – Liliana Light (6’1″ Setter) California/Pleasant Grove HS

As for the record, it is what it is.
UCI will be interesting. not that strong of a resume.
Agree about Ross playing well. they wanted to give Granato a rest. They know what she can do.
