Warriors get rings of honor

At the end of each exit interview yesterday, Nick Rolovich gave each player a Hawaii Bowl championship ring.

It was part of the gift package each bowl team is permitted to give its players.

Some guys have bigger fingers than others.
    Did they measure everyone’s finger?
It is a problem when buying jewelry for others…

    Guud Morning Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!

Nice rings…..The first of many more to come! IMUA WARRIORS!

  9. Stephen Tsai April 27, 2017 10:23 am

    They measured everyone’s finger.
I took a picture of Rolo holding his ring, but the shot came out blurry.

Here’s to many more rings to come!

    GO WARRIORS!

Goodness gracious….what’s the price tag on that bad boy? Not that I ever would, as I think of all the hard work and sacrifice it took the players to earn that ring, but damn if I wouldn’t be tempted to sell it and put a modest dent in my student loans…

    # 11 Although the rings look costly and well deserved, there not that expensive . Usually in the $250-$350 per ring range. The NCAA regulates and has rules as to what you can spend. Not real diamonds or expensive metals used. The accomplisment on the other hand is priceless!!

  13. Akamai Okole April 27, 2017 3:36 pm

    Great Afternoon All!

    Ring, ring, Kalihi ring…

    Das it.

    Howzit Tsaikos!

    Nice ring.

#11 – IIRC, a player selling any of their stuff while they’re still an active player, is a violation.

    GO WARRIORS!

Anyone notice the drastic change to the Hawaii Athletics’ website? It’s horrible.

  16. cappie the dog April 27, 2017 6:35 pm

H-Man: What I notice, quite often, is that the most relevant games, say, baseball or softball, are never on the home page, when I want to check out the gamecast. I have to go to the baseball or softball page.

Was immediately distracted by the apostrophe in the photo.

The Hawaii Athletics website was changed almost a year ago. Personally I find it a major upgrade to what it was-GoWarriors!!!

  19. Maddog50 April 28, 2017 5:45 am

Just made my donation to the helmet campaign-followed Na Koa Mikes’ lead-that’s my version of “Fully Committed” GoWarriors!!!!!

  20. Boolakanaka April 28, 2017 6:23 am

Damn, nice ring. The only ring I have, is ring around my collar….

    15. and 16. The website is from Sidearm sports which does many colleges, including Alabama, CSUN and UCLA. The last two look a little different from UH’s.
Cappie, if you drag the April 28 Events on the homepage to the left, you will see Baseball and Softball listed, with at least the HT times for the events.
The old site used to give only the mainland times for the mainland games, i think.

To Stephen Tsai… this is an off the subject mention here. The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior vollyball jersey are just awesome. What makes it so awesome is the State flag and colors across this jersey. I wonder why they don’t have that same design jersey sold in the stores now?

I hope our Warrior football team new jersey will also display the State flag on their jersey. Not a small patch on your arm, but the State flag on their jersey as pride playing for the State of Hawaii. I hope Coach Rolovich will see that the football jersey will have a State flag, similar to the vollyball team, for our Warrior football team. You can bet sales on this type of design shirt will undoubtedly zoomed up in sales.
    Check it out Stephen..

    Good morning Tsaikos!

Paniolo – #23. The MVB jersey design is a result of a collaboration between the coaching staff and Asics. I don’t think H-Zone carries Asics. There is talk of having ONE contract for the whole department, possibly UA or Nike. That’s too bad because UA, in particular, doesn’t make a whole lot of VB gear. I believe the coaching staff has been pretty happy with the Asics contract. The Booster Club shirts (only about 30 per year) have been included as part of the contract.

I hope UH moves away from UA. They’ve been good to UH, but I feel we had better gear before. Not only the player uniforms but also the fan apparel as well. Does anyone remember the exact year the UA deal came into place? Was it during the McMackin years?
