Davis indicted on six counts
A grand jury today indicted cornerback JoPierre Davis on six felony counts.
He remains on suspension from the team, and is not on the Warriors’ roster. He still is on scholarship and is permitted to attend classes, but he is not allowed to train with the team or use the athletic department facilities.

Defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga and offensive lineman Tui Tuiasosopo each squat-lifted 550 pounds during this morning’s testing.
Meatoga
Laupepa Letuli, who is moving to right tackle, had a squat of 520 pounds, more than a 100-pound improvement over his total last year.

Clarence “Lafu” Tuioti-Mariner will be a student assistant during spring practice. Tuioti-Mariner, who is scheduled to earn his bachelor’s degree in May, will not participate in the April 2 Pro Day in Carson, Calif. Here’s Lafu, as pointed out by Laupepa Letuli:

And because I’m always late in announcing birthdays, tomorrow is this blog reader’s birthday:
Congratulations to the winners!
I’m posting from the San Diego Airport’s commuter terminal. The airport is completely covered in fog, but my flight is scheduled to depart on-time in 45 minutes…
I’m very, very glad that Drew Hiro won!
Top 10! Congrats to the winners. Figured odds were good that Drew Hiro was gonna win.
First round of tourney games are underway! Everyone fill out their bracket?
Stephen –
i was entering for DrewHiro since i cannot make it to the match
if you don’t mind, please pass it on to one of the other winners
sorry for the inconvenience, thanks
Top 10!!
Thanks ST. Now I gotta find someone to go with.
Off to work. bbl.
USC’s basketball coach just took a shot at UH…though he was joking (I hope), I didn’t find it that funny.
Thanks ST…my opponent ‘Drew’ quite a few entries, but I managed to stay with him with my one vote. I’ll pick up my ticket at the box office. Me and Pops will be rootin’ for the home team!
Congrats to jm, Loa and myki. (Sorry sj, you gotta stay home watch da dog).
Texas Tech’s head coach is upset that his QB got the “system QB” label from the NFL…kind of reminds me of what NFL scouts were saying about Colt.
Mike Leach offered to teach NFL coaches how to drop back.
Got to go now…boarding.
GOOD MORNING TSAIKO’S!
**More Good News From Florida!**
Florida Ted Writes:
“Hi, Kekoa,
Thanks for your lovely letter. I can read, but writing is very hard still. After the initial miracles, for which I’m truly grateful, had worn off, certain kind of damages are visible to me. Nobody can see them, except me.
The mind is a very strange a wonderful thing. That’s all I can write for now. This took me almost 45 minutes.
So, I’m not ready for blogging just yet.
Aloha, my friend, and all my fellow Tsaikos,
ForidaTed”
ST: Keep up the twittering. Inquiring minds want to know!
Good on Leach for slapping down the NFL and their prejudices against “shotgun” QBs.
Good Morning Tsaikos! Aiyah…looks like my bracket might take a hit already with Texas A&M rolling BYwho right now.
djmitcho: Ditto. Same with Butler/LSU.
Kekoa: Good to hear that FloridaTed is making progress. Continued prayers and thoughts to him in his recovery effort.
Northridge playing Memphis close right now. Hopefully this isn’t the 2-15 scare like last year’s Duke vs. Belmont (I think it was that).
Good morning to Tsai-kos everywhere!!
Thanks so much Stephen, I guess I can’t complain that I never win anything, anymore. Will give you a call in a bit to make arrangements for pick up tonight.
Thank you again!!
CRW,
I’m in the same boat with Butler/LSU too
Carryover from last blog
he did a lot of “donating” and here’s to hoping he gets nothing in return in 9 months
That comment by Floyd is great recruiting material for UH coaches when speaking to local kids. There’s that Pac 10 arrogance again that kids from Hawaii just can’t step up and they Pac10 are doing the local kids a favor by “allowing them” into the Pac 10 circle.
Heck, paly for UH and scheduled Pac 10 teams and shove it in their faces.
FloridaTed,
Take it slow. It may not come back all at once, but with your determinantion and strong spirit, I know that your “spring training” will get you in great shape! 🙂
Ke Akua Ho’omaika’i Oe!
Thus the reason I hate USC with a passion!!!
How interesting. “Myki” wins, but “SJMacro” calls.
Sounds like Wena’s mantra: “What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is ours.”
damn, memphis keeps this up and i can just about rip up my brackets from the first set of games, yikes 🙁
Good Morning All! 🙂
Drew Hiro – The dream lives! 😆
Ted –
Take it slow and strong. Inch by inch, it’s a cinch!
morning tsai-ko country just checking in to wish everyone a dry day.
agree with buffo and defiantly use that saying as a recruiting tool to all 808 athletes
congrats to all winnas, enjoy the game tonight
gotta go so esmeeeeeeeeeeee whooooooooshhhhhhhh
Congrats to the Winnahs!
Kekoa,
Thanks for the FloridaTed update.
(never have chance to try the game yet)
FloridaTed,
Looking forward to seeing you again, my friend! Keep fightin’ 😀
Oh well, there goes my $Million. LSU knocks me out by 4.
Ted, the WARRIOR NATION awaits your contribution to the blog, but just take it slow and easy. Our continued prayers for your complete recovery. I know we’ll see you in Vegas for the game in September.
Good morning everyone!
Congrats to the winners and a happy pre-birthday wish to Janet Yoshida Bullard!
I’d worry about the short term effect! 🙂
J (J) – call me. You forgot to wake me befoa you wen leave dis mornin.
you goin come home foa lunch?!?!?!
whitey — I see Manila traffic has not changed. Brought back memories of 42 years ago. My first introduction to the traffic right-of-way by “gross tonnage” 🙂
The other stuff I don’t remember, being only 17 and driven around alone all day in a taxi with an ex-navy cab driver… 😐
Talk about sensory overload for the college hoops fan:

Who was that masked (wo)man? Happy birthday, Janet!
Congrats to the winners! See you there tonight.
Got to get errands done so I can watch UCLA this afternoon.
Esme & out…whoosh…
FloridaTed & Patti,
Take it slow, it’ll get better & better over time. Prayers out for you.
Aloha no, ML
Aloha Tsaikos!
Florida Ted- good hearing from you!
Love the quotes from Coach Leach. When will the NFL wake-up already? College Football has it down. Take the National Championship game for example- both QB’s worked from the gun pretty much the entire game.
Kekoa – As usual, thanks for sharing.
Florida Ted – It may get frustrating at times but keep on blogging, its good therapy! Take it easy though, step by step, one day at a time.
Damn…. what is the birthday girl’s blog name?? isn’t it kind of a fufu sounding name?? that picture doesn’t look too fufu to me.
ST – Was the 550 #’s the highest weight squatted?
Florida Ted:
Good to hear from you, my friend.
Small, little ittbiddy steps taken collectively = s 1 gaint step. No rush, easy for me to say, but I’m like you, must get it done NOW!!!
Be patient and understanding to your self.
The players told me it was the highest.
fufu name??? You mean that is jm#### under that makeup?
Last year, Tuioti-Mariner led the way with a 600-pound squat.
Congrats to Vaughn and Tui for the very impressive squats!
Way to go Vaughn – represent Kalaheo and Lawai!!!
Florida Ted,
Glad you’re getting better! Keep on truckin.’ It seems that you’re getting better. I had mine almost 13 years ago, and so far, I’ve been getting up every morning. Take care!
could be but I didn’t know that jm could open her mouth so big….
happy birthday Bianca….is the masked wonder Dara?
Hi Florida Ted and Patti…have the will to persevere and everything will work out in time…keep blogging with us, the ohana will keep your spirits up and the typing, although tiresome, will be good physical therapy…
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Top 60!
HiHo!
Whoosh!
Howzit, Tsai-ko’s!
Did someone say “sensory”???? Hmmm…thought I heard that word this morning…..
Glad to see Tui is getting stronger and has got his weight back up from his illness. Hopefully he can contribute and get into the OLine rotation this year.
Meatoga, Tufaga, and Rocky should be knocking heads this year. With the addition of Hafoka and Masch…garrans going have planny katoosh akshon in the trenches dis year…
Also hoping Letuli can put it all together this year barring injury. He has shown flashes of becoming the next top lineman for us. If he can get fellow teammate Kia to rid of the attitude and focus, the OLine should be auryte with Coach Shaw at the helm…
Good morning MLiz and Big C!
sensory? As it pertains to what? Get plenty sensory functions.
So if Letuli is moving to RT, does that mean Hisatake steps in at LT or Kia…or a new guy???
I’d like to see the new o-line coach assessment and see where he places the o-line personnel. I would think the center position is a lock but you never know.
Now that my Supah Ferry hat goin’ be one collectah’s item, I goin’ put ’em on top E-bay.
Eh Homey! You like buy one HSF hat? Put in your bid now befoa da buggah goes up to 37 cents! I know times are harder than 1929 and you pinching pennies for plate lunch. I can loan you da money cause Obama got me covered wit da stimulatah bucks.
FlaTed – great to hear from you!! Keep up the good work. Remember, slow but steady wins da race.
Anybody need an extra ticket for tonight? Let me know.
Kekoa – No worries about the money. I got a big tax refund back because I made like Big C and claimed 9 kids. I’m thinking of making a TV series, “homey and wifey plus nine imaginary kamalii”
Howzit, Liz!
homey: Really?? You wanna go there, huh??
what JM the kid doesn’t want to follow mommy to the game
PB ~ Both O & D-line will have to have a strong rotation of personnel. Looking at the physically demanding travel and game schedule still TBA, it will not be easy money. Keeping our linemen healthy from week to week on the road will be the key to our line coachs overall success.
Hisatake is moving to left guard.
Right now, I think, it’s Kia/Leonard at LT, Hisatake at LG, Estes at C, Ginlack/Ieru at RG, Letuli at RT.
I think.
ST since Ferd doesn’t answer questions on the blog, is there a time frame that Bolla must submit a rebuttal to the charges handed him and secondly, did he receive only the findings of the human resources inquiry or did he receive a termination notice that has a ten day lag period?
homey and anyone else: wanna “borrow” my kids for tax purposes??! No problem…just remember, you take ONE, you gotta take all 7, plus da’ daddy…..Eh, sorry, comes wit da package…
Then I can run away to the spa…..
Thanks in advance.
Big C – NO, ST going smoo you! hahahahahaha! For some reason I can imagine what you would write and what Stretch, (J)J, and some of the others will write back.
BTW, I was in your neck of the woods again yesterday…K-mart and Home Depot. I only stayed in the parking lot…
ST – Are you privy to the charts that show the weight lifting progress of the players?
Homey:
As the guy carrying the TV said to the police offer: “I found it.”
I might have “found” a copy.
With all the chatter and criticism of the Oline (especially the tackles), what are the characteristics of an excellent Olineman?
Height? weight? strength? long arms? quick feet? blocking techniques? smarts? speed? reaction time? instinc/anticipation? stamina/endurance (mental and physical)? knowledge(abilities and limitations) of each opponent? fewest blown assignments?
What are the three(3) most important and why?
Ralph – my keed is at home on Spring Break and I don’t wanna drive all the way back to Kailua and den ova da mountain again. Speaking of which, I should wake her up… 😀
Homey – not me… My bday is in a month that starts with “M”, but not this month. I’m a Taurus, does that tell you anything?
ST – Feel free to lose a copy in my email inbox.
jm#### – You were born in May and huge like a car or bull? Am I close?
Homey:
Ya know I love ya, Homey (although not in the Coloma way), but no can.
I’ve also charted every play — YACs, YAHs — the past four seasons.
Those numbers, and my fat Rolodex, are my insurance if the company ever wanted to can my arse.
JM no wonder you are a statistician…taurus are focused, axe to the grind, leave them alone, one task bullish to the end….taurus makes good accountants too. just leave you to your cubicle and you’re a happy camper….so how come you always messing with kekoa’s playhouse, not a typical taurus move…
JM so who going feed the kid?
homes – I am stubborn like a bull.
Aww, that’s ok ST. Just hope you backup those folders and files on some off-site storage facility.
Wash 38 – Miss St. 27 at the half
Re-The new OL coach
What turns me on about Coach Shaw is that when I watched his video interview on the Warrior athletic site is that he come in with full acknowledgment of all the people around him.
He begins by greeting the staff and personnel in the athletic department, which to me looks genuinely and warmly.
He talked to his players in a meeting, especially addressing the older players that he has to be sensitive to them because he’s their third coach in five years.
He admits that he has to learn the offense.
And he has to gain insight on what each player knows.
Teaching the players where blocking techniques and assignments are by reflex and not by “thinking” especially during the games is something he stresses.
My initial impressions of Coach Shaw is that he seems to be focused on the present, and looks to the future instead of trying to impress people on his resume or this and that “all-star” he’s coached. Extracting the most from his players, I sense , is better achieved when coaches don’t go around promoting themselves and having an essense of self love. And my initial impression of Coach Shaw is that he doesn’t, for he seems to be grounded into the moment, which I think in the long run is better for the players.
Pardon for being skeptical, but the offensive line last year stunk. Too many penalties, especially holding and personal fouls. That means lack of discipline, poor footwork and technique. Being strong is good, but that’s not everything. They also need cohesion on the line, proper technique, and be able to sustain their blocks. They should give a long good look to the guys who haven’t had a chance so far. Guys like Leonard, Hansen, Legay, etc. The offensive line is the key to having a successful season. Right now, I’m not convinced.
ST ~ When will you be able to interview the line coaches on your show?
We all have concerns about the historicals regarding especially the O-line discipline and keeping a viable pocket of protection for the QB. I’d like to hear what the new guy has planned to get the guys on the same sheet of music.
I love it when a plan comes together!
Sounds like Wena’s mantra: “What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is ours.”
at least you get a portion. the boss’ mantra is slightly different, “what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is mine.”
anybody knows who was top the five players in the squat today 1 vaughn 2 tui 3 4 5 ?
Whoops! Thanks roysan16, you answered most of my concerns in #81 above. Still some folks might want to hear and see him themselves on the *Wai-Sai* show I guess.
Wash 57 – Miss ST. 41 7:00 left.
did it again
ST – the OLine setup sounds about right to me, although I would like to see if Kia can hold on to the LT spot.
Ata-way to go coach Leach with regards defending your qb against the nfl’s “system-player/qb.” He’s a fighter alright….and sounds good too!!
Too bad coach Jones didn’t comeback like that, especially since he coached in the nfl.,oh well??..go figure.
meant to say, nfl’s “system-player/qg labeling., oh well??
meant, qb, not qg,…oh well??
Wayne O,
To me lack of discipline has to do with coaching. I still remember last year when Kia blew off Coach Smith like nothing and Coach didn’t do jack. Hell no, if was me I would’ve been in his arse probably wouldn’t have let him played the rest of the game. Coach Smith is young and I’m glad Coach Shaw is here to help and fix things. We do have athletes on the line and with proper coaching could play at the next level. It starts at practice though, which at times when I’ve watched didn’t seem to have the intensity needed to get the boys motivated to play to the best of their abilities. All it comes down to is coaching and holding the players accountable for what they do and how they perform. If you slacking, then Coach gotta keep the PIMP hand strong and smack em into shape quick! We’ll see though, but I think we’ll see a huge improvement from last year. Plus with our schedule this year, the boys will have to prove themselves each game!
RALPH wrote:
I took two courses in accounting and never could figure why the professor was upset when I was 2 or 3 cents over or under!
mctruck,
I think Colt Brennan said it best when he mentioned that he is a system QB. Cause whatever system you put him in, he going perform and run it to perfection. Kind of like saying Peyton Manning is a system QB, cause he only know how to run the Indy system, ah c’mon gimme a break. Regardless I just waiting for Colt Brennan take over and prove errybody wrong. Hopefully he can come back to the islands and play in the Pro-Bowl someday. With the situation in Washington looks like it could be sooner than later. Figure they no extend Campbells contract, they not looking to pick up Cutler from the Broncos, Collins is ancient and I know they not looking for a QB in the draft with pick 13.
al – Did you take your ginkgo biloba today?
tom – Plus a bull would have a helluva time holding a pencil and using a calculator.
Ralph – #77 – da odda “overgrown” keed (aka hubby) is responsible. Besides, she’s old enough to fend for herself (saimin, eggs, sandwich, etc)
Kia 6’5″
Hisatake 6’4″
Estes 6’2″
Ireu 6’3″ / Ginlack 6’2″
Letuli 6’4″
There’s that height some people around the horn have been looking for on our o-line.
Let’s see Coach Shaw take that size and translate it into success on the field!
ST: #75…You mean our love/hate relationship?? You know, I love to hate on him…….Bwuahahahaha…hehehe..Well, he’s the only one smaller than me, so whaddaya expect?!
Big C – At least it’s an advantage while slow dancing. BTW, do you and DH plan to attend any of the Warrior football home games?
Sooooooo this is what the dark side is all about………
Hi C, homey
just dropped by to say hi and to see what this side is all about ok going to do what homey does…….lurk LOL
Hiya maddiesmomE! FYI, this isn’t the dark side…
ST – I promise I’m not making them come here!
If your on here then im assuming it is! LOL J/K
ST- Homey said I should visit and do what he does on the “pink side” lurk and post randoms…. :0)
Ferd says Bolla has a certain amount of time to respond to the accuracy of the report.
After that, UH may issue a notice of termination.
That comes with a 10-day notice.
So we’re talking at least a couple of weeks.
Maddie:
Or you can just stay and play.
We have sitters, if you need. We watch Homey all of the time.
LOL
OK, I’m heading to UH for the third time today.
I forgot to bring the tickets the first two times.
I have the condition where I for… uh, what was I talking about again?
Lay off the Tussin…
How do you remove someone from your friends list? 😆
LOL sorry dude its permanent!!! 😛
There goes the Superferry, slowly, I think that’s the slowest I’ve seen it go past Diamond Head.
hahaha….maddiesmomE!!!! howzit, howzit, howzit, girl!! Das right, ha’ come took you so long to get here, girl? You and hubs are big UH fans……WTF??? hahahaha….just kidding….
Welcome!!!
homey: Of course!! Why, is that an invite to t-gates?? My hubs was just asking about that…..
Iz dat Stephanie Lum in da peektcha?
WHoosh!
jojo… Adm. Fargo was supposed to speak to us at the Chamber of Commerce meeting tonight… but he’s going to Maui to help his people through this setback. Right thing to do…
🙁
Big C – Yeah, we t-gate near k-mart in the lower parking lot.
MLiz – That don’t look like Steph. Whoever it is must be a favorite at the dentist.
Pauoa Boy: I hope the new offensive line will get great coaching from Coach Shaw this year too. We’ll see as things develop. Depth is also needed in case of injuries.
Re Bolla: I can’t believe it took this long to determine the finding of the allegation(s). I mean, how long does it take to find out if somebody kicked somebody. Seems like somebody was on Hawaiian time to me, which is to say, people were slow to take action. In any event, every minute, hour, day that goes by without resolution and probably a new head coach it cost us the fans, and revenue for the program in getting much needed quality recruits for the future. This women’s basketball program is in shambles and it’s just disgusting, not to mention losing close to a million dollars for the athletic department. Jim Donovan needs to do something real quick. I hate to see it, but Vince Goo should have stay.
LOL C Hubby is I just go and eat!!! But here is the smaller verison of him
http://hawaii.momslikeme.com/members/ScrapbookActions.aspx?m=3495365&g=670780
Ok brb gotta get the house all tidey before he gets home buhahaha
Pauoa Boy,
RE: Coach Mack’s “pimp hand”.
I wanna see Coach say to a player that is acting up, “is Coach Mack gonna have to choke a fool?”
😆
Bolla should step down, resign, quit, leave town…
Liz, I can talk to you guys, but I don’t know what to talk about!
homey: We normally go up against the fence by the walk-over bridges, near you guys…When’s the 1st?
Coloma – do you go to all the games and tailgate at each one??
What walk over bridges? You mean overpasses? Anyway, we don’t t-gate in the Stadium parking lot like Stretch. I already told your DH where we t-gate.
I missed most of last season cause I was hapai and didn’t feel like going….go figure! hahaha… But, yes, before that during past seasons, we’d try to go as often as we could find sitters!! And, yes, I actually go to WATCH and follow the games, not to just t-gate…..
I am just too lazy to walk from the tailgate to the stadium then up the fricken stairs.
Big C must have missed most of 7 seasons due to being hapai. She probably thinks the team is called the Rainbows.
Stretch – just buy one of those electric riding coolers.
HAUOLI LAHANAU STEPHANIE LUM- TOMORROW!
(see WB July 3, 2008, I think)
Big C- last year I got to sit in Ronnie’s section – CHOKE kids- ALL FANS- Best cheering section yet!!! Endzone Brown.
whoosh!
Sorry, it is NOT Stephanie Lum. It could be her birthday tomorrow but that’s not her picture.
RE: Jim Bolla
Interesting take from one poster at Sports Hawaii:
I found the bolded statement interesting to say the least.
If that’s Ms Lum then that’s a different makeup than what she wore when she was at the Stadium a couple of seasons ago.
Kazz – Maybe UH was getting their ducks lined up correctly. That’s why it took so long to get the report to Bolla for his review. Now if UH did a thorough investigation and does have corroborating witnesses then…we’ll see.
homey: How you know? You heard me cheering, eh??!! hahahaha…
And, I want one of those coolers…..
Liz: That sounds like FUN!!!! But, when we go, its normaly sans da keiki…..IF we bring them, its only the 3 oldest (12, 11, and 8 years old). Try making 3 little ones (ages 6, 4, & 2) go up that ramp while carrying a 5 month old…ha! They THINK its all fun……up until the 2nd turn…..then it’s, “Mommy, daddy…..I’m tired! Can you carry me??!!”
hahahaha..
LizK,
Sorry, but the best cheering section at Aloha Stadium is in the North end zone, section UU, row 22, SEAT 12.
Try not to sit in row 22 though. The sound can reach un-godly levels.
Dayum! Is your body healed yet?
Koakane’s sits in the sleeping section.
homey: Who me? Of COURSE!!!!
And what section is that???
Homey,
It makes me sick to no end to already believe the program, in terms of this year’s recruiting class and the next is seriously crippled. Title 9 is the only thing keeping this program afloat. Bolla’s reputation in the past and his failures on the court were more than enough to hurt the Wahine players in the past and those currently on the roster.
I still have hope that the rumors of Shawna-Lei Kuehu attempting to join the Wahine can be a ray of sunlight in all of this. The recruiting must have already been effected. When is LOI day? A month from now? Maybe less. If ST hints could be “a few more weeks”, then there is no time to accomplish anything for Coach Charity or Coach Dallas Bolla.
I still think the Wahine have players that can play that will be returning next year. At times the Wahine showed that despite all this news around the program they can still pull off good performances to win games. If anything, next season, one thing for sure is that Jim Bolla will officially be gone from the program and they can have one full season to really come out of their shells and do what many believe those girls can do.
I’ll go ahead a predict a winning season next year on the court.

LizK,
Sounds like the Admiral was setting up his next advance but left his flank exposed!
Wow! sounds like HPD must really know about somebody’s tailgate…. 😯
Maybe we gotta check that out! 😆
Gee…I guess the only thing missing from that pic of the B-day girl is the shave ice!
#2 son’s reaction to his former OL-mate’s lift: Holy Cr4p!
Hopefully, it really was just soap and not shoe polish that was used on all that glass.
Hi everyone!
Seems to be some confusion about the birthday girl. I know she works in the athletic department because it is a photograph posted previously. I think it was from Halloween. I am bad with names so I cannot help there.
Who is getting put up along the fence at T-Gates? Dang, that is some serious partying! HPD better watch out, though; the frisky might like to be frisked.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha!
Do they sell that stuff that writes on glass in Hawai’i? It is all over the place up here. The kids use it on their vehicle glass all the time for sports, graduation, PR, . . .
I guess they could have used tempra, too.
No, I did not mean tempura! That would have just left grease smears instead.
I haven’t seen Esme post anything about this here, but I saw her post about it on Facebook. Since I seem to get pretty good responses to fundraising, I thought I might as well post this once:
http://www.marchforbabies.org/s_team_page.asp?seid=650823
Support the Mommies and their cause for the March of Dimes! I’m not sure if baby health has affected all of the bloggers as much as cancer, but I know I’ve been directly affected. I was born 10 weeks prematurely, and weighed 2 lb, 13 oz at birth. My Dad had already lost a newborn son from a previous marriage, and he later told me he was afraid that I wouldn’t make it, too. Well, nearly 22 years later, I’m still here! 🙂
Unfortunately, not every little boy or girl will survive that battle; and for some that do, health problems can follow. I was truly blessed to develop into a normal, healthy person, but not all do. Medicine has advanced to the point where we can treat premature births and other infant issues, but there’s still a lot of research to be done on why these things happen, and on how to reduce such occurrences. I’m sure Esme would support any help the Tsai-kos can give. And as a preemie myself, I’d appreciate it too! Mahalo! 🙂
FTed . . .
Good to see you back! Happy for you and your recovery.
Take it easy,
Take it nice and slow . . .
Hey Gang…good afternoon/early evening…hope all is well…just wanted to stop by and see what is up???
Bummers- JP Davis news is breaking on the HA front page

Sad about JP Davis…aiyahhhhh
2nd Nature did a nice job! YAY!!!
Boise dominated that year, the media pointed out how much their scholie’s, and players could squat. Hawaii had players that could bench more. STILL BOISE DOMINATED!
Nashs’ players could take note on the effort and discipline of the off-season conditioning from some of the football players.
20 chinups and 6 reps of 225 as a team best does not blow anyone off the stage.
Shakespeare wrote hundreds of stories and plays. They probably wouldn’t like any of them!
Now can we give his schollie to someone else now?
That picture makes me SCREAM! CHEEEEEEEEEE HOOOOOOOOOO! Why do the big burly, athletic types get such puny pictures and Mini Vili almost fell off the 17″ monitor?
With regards to College Baseball:
This guy’s way-too-early projections has the BaseBows making an NCAA Regional as an at-large bid, with Fresno State winning the WAC’s auto-bid (despite the WAC Tournament being held at Les Murakami Stadium 🙄 )
http://collegebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1169&CID=926011
The same guy also made this observation:
http://collegebaseball.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=2308&tid=121829242&mid=121829242&sid=1169&style=2
So the BaseBows are starting to get noticed. Hopefully this doesn’t bachi the team as they finish off the bulk of the non-conference schedule and head into the WAC play.
Gosh. I feel like Garret disseminating good kine information.
Bwahahaha!!!!!!!!
I’m not a lawyer, so why did it take a month to arrest JPD and have a grand jury indict him? The puch at the club is assault and HPD should have been involved at that point. Then, the DA does his/her job….hmmm….
Blessing in disguise…
On a personal note, thank god for doctors who actually pay attention to what they do and not treat people as numbers.
Three weeks ago my dad was scheduled for hip replacement surgery. The day before, the surgeon called him and said there was an abormality in his EKG. I took my dad to his regular doctor the next day for another EKG – same reading, and it matched a reading from 2005. He’s ordered for a chemical stress test (since he can’t do the treadmill ‘cuz of the hip), and he fails it. Next, an echocardiogram which he passes (different from electrocardiogram/EKG) and he passes. Finally, this past Tuesday, he got an angiogram and 3 blockages (85%)were found. He had stents installed today, and gets released tomorrow. Hopefully, he’ll get his hip in four weeks.
The point is that he was healthy, never short of breath or had any indication of cardio problems. It just goes to show that every one of us needs to be diligent in regular check-ups, even if we feel great.
Sorry for the off-topic post, but hopefully it will shed some light that no matter how healthly you feel and appear, something can still be wrong.
Rich,
We need Harvey Dent. I believe in Harvey!
was wondering when you were going to post something….
don’t do that, (J)J might get excited…..
Kazz – Lot’s of time on your hands watching Batman, huh? LOL
Stretch – that’s not MIA, the bar hostess, but MISSING IN ACTION…
It’s now changed…lol
rich…..just out of curiosity….was dad diabetic?
al – nope….73, healthy until before Christmas when he realized his hip was a pain in his a$$. No health issues at all. Very active.
After the first day of the tournament, I am kind of happy with my picks so far. 13 of 16 and the wrong picks I made, I didn’t have going past the 2nd round so don’t lose too much possible points. Tomorrow is another big day!!
well, the reason i asked about rich’s dad being a diabetic or not, is that quite commonly diabetics will not experience the normal symptoms of heart disease. one of the reasons is that they lose some ability to experience certain sensations, ie, chest pains, numbness, and the like.
but, rich is absolutely correct in that we all need to go and have regular checkups annually. most health plans cover these exams 100%. better to be able to prevent something than to defend against it. sort of like the game of football.
sorry for the sobering message.
…nuff said
stretch….mia, hahahaha.
btw, #2 has 14-16 in his picks.
Rich2176,
Glad to hear your Dad is getting good care.
rich
thats very good news.
it is amazing what the docs can do these days.
in a week he will feel like a new man.
thank God.
Al – interesting info about diabetics not able to feel certain sensations. Thanks. BTW, the cardiologist was actually trying to be funny….he told my dad “You would have been a ticking time bomb with a new hip.”
Rich,
“Dark Knight” was an excellent movie. Right up there with “The Watchmen”.
Honestly I was never into comics when I was a kid, but now I guess this is all catching up with me. Although, I think a lot of kids that were in the same theater watch “The Dark Knight” seemed to get bored real quick.
Several people also got up and left during “The Watchmen”. I guess it was too complicated for some people. It’s one of those movies that while it’s a comic book/graphic novel thing, you really need to grab a hold of the story from the beginning or you will not care anymore.
11-16.
I can only hope that tomorrow is a different day!
d1 – according the calendar, it will be….
Thanks Rich. After the shellacking I took today, I wasn’t so sure….
swiss cheese…my bracket….swiss cheese….my bracket…
rich….he’ll be known as the man who’s bad hip saved his life.
btw, interesting talent this year on idol. some very unique persona’s out there. and how about the young “marilyn monroe soon-to-be”.
al – yes, any of the 10 remaining can win. I’m going to the show next Wed. – it’s Motown night. LOL.
PowderPuff outed herself.
Rich2176:
I think you indirectly (or directly) paid for my lunch today.
We keep your Dad in our prayers, Rich. Thank goodness they caught it early.
hmmmm. i’ll be in hollywoodland in two weeks.
Happy Early Birthday PowderPuff!
Great to hear about the progress being made by FloridaTed! FloridaTed, you are never far away from my thoughts!
Best wishes to Rich2176’s Dad. I’m glad that he was released today and remember how they discovered his problem by accident…it is a good thing he had such an observant doctor.
Article in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel mentions the tough situation that Samson is in now that Miami gave a $30 million to the guy they picked to replace him at starting center. It also mentions the shoulder injury that ST has been telling us about.
If Samson doesn’t start at center, the coaching staff has said that he can compete for the starting RG spot. Trouble is, Miami already has 3 players competing for that spot–one guy started last season, one guy was drafted by the current management last year, and one guy was drafted in the 2nd round by the current management while they were in Dallas and Miami’s head coach was the OL coach there.
Nice mention about Bess in their discussion of Ginn.
i was on a grand jury once. it sucked.
A private equity firm bought my local paper (San Diego Union-Tribune) and are looking to buy other newspapers because they feel the industry will be coming back when the economy improves. The paper they are rumored to be considering to buy next is the Austin American-Statesman, which I subscribed to for years.
The fact that some people with deep pockets want to invest in the newspaper industry is the first good news I’ve read about the newspaper industry in a long time…

4th set Huskers lead Wahine 2-1. Wahine quite dominant in the 3rd set.
Maeda, Hewitt, and Lee looking good with more playing time.

Rich2176 aka MIA asked why does it take so long for HPD to arrest someone and indicted?
If the police does not observe the crime, they will not arrest. They will interview the witnesses and present the facts to the Prosecuting Attorney who will examine the facts and determine whether a valid charge can be made. They then will have to present it to a (grand) jury to determine if the facts justify them to return an indictment. At the point, there is an “order” of arrest from a legal entity and HPD can arrest him based on that order.
You could also have the person who was assaulted make a complaint through the prosecutor’s office who will make a determination as to the facts and then submit it to a judge who will issue a complaint and an order to the defendant to show up in court to answer the complaint. No arrest is made by HPD.
Ok. Amber Kaufman is my favorite player.
She had a service error, walks to the bench, gets handed a towel, and just throws it to the floor.
That is not “sulking” people, that is competitive fire and desire to win.
This season will ride on her leadership and emotion.
Yilkes! Pau 25-23 game to Nebraska.
Huskers three sets to one.
So happy to see Tui recoverying and pounding the iron…
He’s a great guy…
I think he’s the only player to address me as “Uncle”….
Too bad about JP Davis.. dang.. was expecting a break out year for him.
On the flip side of the coin, I ran into Jakeem Hawkins and his girl friend at Sam’s Club today. Absolutely beautiful couple. I spoke with them for just a few seconds but I felt like I wanted to spend the day with them both. While prepping for Pro Day, he seemed really optimistic and excited about getting another season with the Warriors.
With the defensive back positions open… Jakeem would be a huge plus for next season.
Some Warriors are giving back to the community and helping to improve relations
Evening Tsai-kos!!
Thanks, ST, for the tix. Sat with Kekoa and Pops. Saw sj, myki and Mei Ling. Kazz – how come you neva say hi?
Wahine looked rusty, but that’s to be expected. Nice to see the reserves get PT. Amber was fun to watch, as were the Mighty Mites, Lee and Maeda. Almost forgot that it was an *exhibition* game.
12 of 16.
Good Evening All! Added more pics from last nights af2 game featuring J.Rivers and H. Satele. Just click on my name.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVE POWDERPUFF

Ralph — PowderPuff is the gal with the ti leaf lei and heavy eye makeup shown above. She accompanied ST to the Feb. 7 Karaoke Call, where I think you met her disguised as a normal person. 😆
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POWDERPUFF !!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVE POWDERPUFF, nice pic of you in fbook.
Ok…I have to admit, I did enjoy watching the game with jm2375 sitting with me and Pops. We did get a little excited at times, even when the scoreboard showed Nebraska as the winner.
ST ~ I thank you again for the tickets. jm2375 had to give her other ticket away. The people she gave it to were very cautious about taking it at no charge.
Mei Ling is like one of those Wal Mart *greeters.* Too bad we don’t a well-funded University, JD could make it a position on the SCC staff.
okay I know who she is
End of a long day…Didn’t get to chat with Rich 2009 and let him know that me and Pops will be willingly to pay the extra bucks. It’ll be cool just to be able to sit together with those Warrior Beat, Krazed Tsaiko fans.
Best wishes to Rich’s dad and of course, Margo….
good nite ralphie and kekoa
Eh, Powderpuff! You know how fo party!
Get out there and stimulate this economy! Make it a three day PowderPuffPalooza weekend!
Thanks for all the suggestion for our up coming trip to Australia. Am real excited in going to a new adventure. I guess this must one of the reason why I am wide awake at 2.35 in the morning. The grand kids are excited and cute when they talk about the trip.
will catch up with the blogg group when I get back.
Merry Aloha Friday!
Too bad about Davis. I hope he gets the help he needs. Sad.
Good morning Momo!
Have a safe and fun trip up-over in the land of ‘roos!!!
Today is the 6th Anniversary of the current Iraq invasion.
Please take a moment to remember all of the men and women who sacrificed everything for our safety. We would not enjoy the freedoms we have if it were not for all of them.
Thank a proud US Warrior. It only takes 10-seconds.
Turn up the volume and sing along!

Good Morning Tsaikos!!
Happy Birthday to PowderPuff!!

Good morning Tsai-kos!!
It’s another round of March Madness. Will the lone WAC team make it to Sunday or are they a one-and-done?
Have a great trip momo and mrs momo.
Happy Spring Equinox.
Long day at work – meetings all day. Who schedules meetings on Friday afternoons? grrrrrr. At least we get back to some semblance of normalcy next week, although I don’t think we ever have anything close to “normal”.
Gotta go find some kope, forgot to buy yesterday. bbl.
A grand jury today indicted cornerback JoPierre Davis on six felony counts.
He remains on suspension from the team, and is not on the Warriors’ roster. He still is on scholarship and is permitted to attend classes,
Ok dear i agree with your dialogue for gaming volleyball but this is not a easy game for any to maintain the game stamina
God bless you for giving me space for expression.
He’s ordered for a chemical stress test (since he can’t do the treadmill ‘cuz of the hip), and he fails it. Next, an echocardiogram which he passes (different from electrocardiogram/EKG) and he passes.
