I wonder if this tour is like the ones at the theme parks… That is, at the end of the tour, you will be at the gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs…

  2. SC August 27, 2015 7:43 am

Prediction: University of Colorado 38-University of Hawaii 28. Close game until the fourth quarter. Hawaii’s defensive line and offensive line will wear down in the second half due to lack of depth.

  3. Stephen Tsai August 27, 2015 7:45 am

    Tanman:
    I don’t think so, but that’s a great idea.
Sometimes I skip the tours and head straight for the gift shop.

  4. Stephen Tsai August 27, 2015 7:48 am

    SC:
If the humidity is the same as it was the past few practices, there might be some collapsed Buffaloes.
Not sure who would report on it, though, because all the reporters would faint, too.
It was so hot yesterday that the blog host aborted an interview. The player wanted to cool off in the training room; the blog host didn’t want to die of heat stroke. Win-win, I think.

  5. Ipu Man August 27, 2015 7:58 am

To help prevent leg cramps, the team should take
potassium vitamin pills at least every night before
they go to bed and before the game.
    Prevent Defense 🙂

  8. SC August 27, 2015 8:24 am

    Prediction. Colorado 38-Hawaii 28.

  9. SC August 27, 2015 8:27 am

Yes humidity will be a factor but I think Colorado will run to wear down Hawaii.

  10. NorthShoreFan August 27, 2015 8:46 am

    Guud Morning Tsaikos…bootiful day.

Mahalo for the Mel Davis story….seems to me they wanted and had to convict and innocent to cover their behind. Keep themselves safe from a wrongful arrest and huge lawsuit. Gave him a deal he couldn’t refuse. Now that’s justice? wot!?

  11. H-Man August 27, 2015 9:00 am

Hawaii wins its opener against Colorado 35-28.

  12. oldtimer808 August 27, 2015 9:03 am

Hawaii 38 Colorado 28 hey what do you expect I support Hawaii win or lose. How can you not support our student/athletes who have made a commitment to be in the best possible shape for the season’s grind.

  13. ML Warrior August 27, 2015 9:17 am

    Hawaii 28
    Final
    Colorado 24

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  14. Willie August 27, 2015 9:17 am

That picture of Kemp is not comforting. Hoping he has learned to catch with his hands this year. Last year he used his body a lot and dropped a lot. Thumbs out or thumbs in, look the ball in, squeeze and secure; just like Stubblefield and Ewaliko above. Just like his game winning catch against UNLV last year.

  15. SC August 27, 2015 9:31 am

Number 12. Thank you. But my prediction is my opinion. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think that Hawaii’s defensive and offensive lines are not deep.

  16. Andrew August 27, 2015 9:36 am

Thank god it is game week and also prediction time. I think weather and travel have an effect on Colorado.

    UH: 42
    CU: 31

  17. Andrew August 27, 2015 9:42 am

I also think the team is going to be fired up realizing the extreme importance of this season, especially this game

  18. PONO August 27, 2015 9:44 am

31-17 UH. The humidity will wear CU down.

  19. Willie August 27, 2015 10:03 am

Awesome article this morning on running back Mel Davis’ 2nd chance opportunity. Wow not having the funds to get a good lawyer really can make a difference. He has a great attitude despite what he endured. It’s time for the scales to tilt in his favor. Wishing him a breakout season and a lot of success going on.

  20. nutmegger August 27, 2015 10:30 am

    Hawaii 31
    Colorado 28

    Home game.
    Humidity.
    Wittek.
Those 3 factors will make the difference.

  21. st. anthony trojan August 27, 2015 10:35 am

How come they are no make a discount for seniors…for the Letterwinners club ?

Not that me can avail to that offer… but just asking…

  22. bowwar August 27, 2015 10:48 am

Pomai?: It will be UH 24 – Buffos 21…It will be a nail-biter, but I believe UH will win by a late field goal and block one that would tie it.

Buffos will get their experience of Hawaiian Heat!!! Defense will bend, but not break. Offense will do “just enough” to squeak by.

  23. Inyoface. August 27, 2015 10:52 am

If Wittek was playing last year versus Washington, I’m sure we would’ve won. Washington was a 17 point favorite and barely came out with a win because of UH’s lackluster offensive output. I’ll never forget McMackin calling 2 timeouts in a row the last time Colorado was in town, that was one of the most classic moments. Anyway, Melvin Davis looks like a bruising goal line or short yardage first down type of running back.

  24. H-Man August 27, 2015 11:09 am

I see Mel Davis at 225 playing weight. As Bailey said, Mel needs to get in condition. For short yardage, its Justin Vele, but would like to see Kaiwi Chung. He seems to have some quickness to hit the hole with power.

  25. NorthShoreFan August 27, 2015 11:10 am

    Hawaii 27
    Booffalo 24

  26. NorthShoreFan August 27, 2015 11:12 am

don’t need to be in shape for 5 – 6 plays game huh?

  27. Manoa Mist August 27, 2015 11:27 am

Agree great story on Melvin Davis there Mr. Tsai. The blog host may not die of heat stroke today, but when he’s gone one of the good things about Hawaii will go with him.

  28. What??? August 27, 2015 11:55 am

People come to the blog and pull that “everyone is entitled to an opinion” line cause if they did that to their wife at home the family jewels would be MIA.

  29. kahuna August 27, 2015 12:02 pm

I think we can just let Kemp catch however he wants already. This is his JR year and if he hasn’t learn to catch with his hand by now, he ain’t going to later. Maybe he just feels a lot more comfortable using his body. I see a lot of NFL receivers use body only so its not like Kemp is alone in that.

Some receivers just have strong hands and it help them catch with their hands. Other just don’t have that strong hand and have tendency to drop ball so the coaches let them use their body.

  30. jeezy33 August 27, 2015 12:18 pm

I hope Mel can be a reliable short yardage back for us and score when we get to the goal line.

Bonus is Mel can get Troy Williams to transfer to Hawaii in the same scenario Hawaii got Max Wittek. USC opens up at Hawaii. Wittek loses job to Kessler. New coach comes and Wittek transfers here. UDUB opens up at Hawaii, Williams loses job and hopefully Williams comes to Hawaii via same high school and JC as Mel Davis. Williams is at Santa Monica JC I am pretty sure.

  31. RB August 27, 2015 12:27 pm

    Warriors 0
    Buffs 0

Bad storm next week. game will be canceled!!!!
    LOL just kidding.

    Warriors 21
    Buffs 24
UH wins by the spread +7.5

  32. nutmegger August 27, 2015 12:30 pm

    $28 What??,
Predicting a loss does not make you any less of a Warrior fan. I expect most fans are realistic about Ohio and Wisconsin – they’d love a W, but the odds are we’ll get an L. Still, against Colorado I think we get our first W.

  33. Akamai Okole August 27, 2015 12:38 pm

    Great Afternoon All!

    Pomai,

    You get mine, eh?

    In case…

    56 – 14 Akamai Okole

  34. What??? August 27, 2015 12:45 pm

nutmegger I never said it did. But I would never publicly say that I thought my kids were going to lose even if I was being realistic and knew that they would. The point is that everyone is entitled to an opinion but everyone needs to understand there are often consequences. Mainly that others are also entitled to give you crap about your opinion so don’t complain about it when they do.

  35. st. anthony trojan August 27, 2015 12:50 pm

Ha Ha… MR./MS. “WHAT???” # 28 ~ 4 us old farts…the “family jewels” are long gone…no need worry that one…no amount of viagra can cure that now… here the only thing that work is 3 bamboo sticks n scotch or masking tape…he he he

If the gf hides the scotch tape… me in big trouble…

    UH in a blowout….42 ~ 13

Well me is pretty sure is the placement of the passes…if thrown above his head…be hands only catch… no body involved…

  36. Andrew August 27, 2015 12:55 pm

    32.

Agreed, though of course crazy things have happened before and that’s why they play the game. I would hope they can make it interesting though and not a complete blowout. I think if they’re firing on all cylinders, they could make it very interesting @ Wisconsin and Boise State

  37. z August 27, 2015 1:04 pm

We get the weapons and a coach who knows how to use them. We get chance. Will know more after first quarter.

  38. BigFan August 27, 2015 1:12 pm

    Hawaii 35
    Buffs 31

  39. SteveM August 27, 2015 1:43 pm

Good to see another practice at Aloha stadium. There should be more.
Aloha Stadium is our “home” stadium but it is not UH’s home — not like, say UDUB, where the players practice there all year. On your home field it would nice to know how the winds swirl under all conditions. How the rain reflects the lights on what part of the field. Where the turf monsters hide…

  40. bowwar August 27, 2015 3:13 pm

Sad News…We’ve lost Chocolate Thunder…Darryl Dawkins has died from a heart attack…His breaking of basketball rims with dunks were epic…RIP!

  41. st. anthony trojan August 27, 2015 3:16 pm

Z… like ur comment… yes we have a offensive coordinator that seems n proved to be knowing what he is doing…

But there is a dude up there that says “we have to establish the run…NO MATTER WHAT NE ONE SAYS”….n he is the boss…

So if you have a Jerry Rice…on ur team…. the formula is… Run…Run… pass.. punt…

  42. nutmegger August 27, 2015 3:41 pm

    #34 What?? – Fair enough.

#36 Andrew – Anything can happen on any given Saturday.

  43. Andrew August 27, 2015 4:14 pm

    42.

    I agree, that’s what I said

  44. Inyoface August 27, 2015 4:37 pm

Colorado will think they are on another planet when they feel that humidity.

  45. C-Pop August 27, 2015 7:02 pm

    CU 36 UH 14

  46. Boya_jr August 27, 2015 7:04 pm

I bet the humidity @Rice last year tops the Hawaii humidity. Except last Saturday night was super sticky weather.

  47. A-House August 27, 2015 7:30 pm

went to my chiro today who just came back from Vegas and he said a sports book at a casino showed Colorado giving 51 points!

yikes – asked him if he placed a bet and he said no because he had things to do and forgot – double yikes!!

  48. A-House August 27, 2015 7:32 pm

    #46:

we thought it was hot because we were facing the sun! actually, I left my seat and went to the concourse to be in the shade.

    humidity, eh!

  49. el burro sabio August 27, 2015 10:54 pm

    Mr. A-House,
That was probably the over/under, not the spread.

  50. cappie the dog August 28, 2015 4:31 am

I would charge an intermediary price for those between the ages of 13 and 18.

    $35?

    Hawaii 21 Colorado 20

    I live in hope.

A victory will provide a nice springboard for the team as they venture onto the continent.

There seems to be a little friction among the quarterback ranks at Ohio State. Its two top starters don’t want to be rotated. Hawaii needs all the help it can get.

John Kasich seems to be the least bat**** crazy out of all the Republican Presidential nominees.

Did anybody see Brian Schatz on “All In with Chris Hayes”?

  51. H-Man August 28, 2015 5:06 am

    Spread is Hawaii +7.5. O/U is 57.
