UH lands d-end

Charles Tuaau, a former Leilehua High defensive end, said he will turn down Pac-12 offers to join the Warriors in January.

Tuaau was named to the 2009 All-State second team. He signed with UH in 2010, but did not meet the requirements to play for the Warriors that year. Instead, he played at Pasadena City College, where he had 17 backfield tackles, including five sacks, in 2010.

He redshirted last year after transferring to Riverside College.

Tuaau said he will play for Riverside this season, complete work on an associate degree in December, and join the Warriors in January.

Charles in charge: Tuaau highlights.

Mike Andrade, a defensive tackle from Konawaena High, said he signed a scholarship agreement with the Warriors yesterday morning.

Andrade was set to sign with the Warriors in February. But he needed to fulfill some requirements before the letter of intent could be approved. Andrade met the requirements, but after the April 1 deadline to sign a letter of intent. Instead, he signed a scholarship agreement, which locks the school into securing a scholarship for him.

Yeah, baby! Another great news. Does this mean he will be a Jr with 2 to play 2?

  2. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 12:30 am

    Yep. 2 for 2.

  3. BleedGreen808 April 8, 2012 12:31 am

Welcome aboard to Mr. Andrade, as well.

Happy burfday to the, ummm, mascot! He doesn’t look over 30 so he will need to be carded.

  10. BleedGreen808 April 8, 2012 12:37 am

    ST–

Will Tuaau be on scholarship and who is recruiting him from the pac 12?

  11. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 12:37 am

I was trying to look for the mascot’s Adam’s apple before being gender specific.

  12. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 12:38 am

    BleedGreen:

He will be on scholarship. USC, UCLA and Oregon State have been after him.

  13. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 12:39 am

UH probably will get some more verbal commitments before the end of spring training.

  14. BleedGreen808 April 8, 2012 12:40 am

To look as good as he is, one must act childish once in a while. I see he doesn’t live in the city because he doesn’t have an ounce of city miles in him. LOL

  15. BleedGreen808 April 8, 2012 12:43 am

    ST–

No need the Adam’s apple. Just look at how he’s posing to the camera. He’s pose says “pimping”.

Welcome aboard to Charles Tuaau and Mike Andrade.

  23. mo808 April 8, 2012 12:54 am

Welcome to the Warriors Andrade! So much excitement for UH football!

  24. Darren April 8, 2012 12:56 am

Hats off to Tuaau for working his tail off to try and get back to play for the home team. We’ve lost more than a few good ones who were tasked to take the JC route.

  25. Darren April 8, 2012 12:58 am

Damn!! I knew I should have gone today…

  26. Darren April 8, 2012 12:59 am

    Errrr…yesterday.

  27. Darren April 8, 2012 1:06 am

And to see this happening without us even taking a game snap yet. If we’re able to put a solid product out on the field, things will be looking even more up for our 2013 class. Hope more top prospects hold off on early verbals to the mainland…it’d at least give us more of a chance.

  28. mo808 April 8, 2012 1:10 am

Nice highlight footage for Tuaau! Very good recruitment efforts continue prove successful for Coach Chow and staff!

  29. mo808 April 8, 2012 1:12 am

Good night and Happy Easter Sunday.

    BG808,

I remember the days of pulling my hair out wondering why we couldn’t land any of the Kahuku boys. I can see that thing have been, and are continuing to out for the better.

  32. Darren April 8, 2012 1:26 am

    …turn out for the better.

    Nice.

  35. wowlaulau April 8, 2012 2:00 am

  36. Kekoa April 8, 2012 2:11 am

Wowlaulau ~ No can. It’s like gum underneath your slippah. He won’t go away. He threatens legal action if he can’t play with the other kids.

In the old days if you tried to hang out wit the cool guys, all it took was the Look and you were gone! Of course, the next level involved you getting your a$$ handed to you if you was hard head.

Charlie Tua’ua DE 6 ft 3 in 270 lbs – Highlight video shows [in addition to size and speed] not only an understanding of allignment and assignment and angles, but football smarts that are off the charts. He seems to have that intangible “game speed” that comes from understanding how everything fits together. One time shed the block and penetrate, one time loop around the outside to QB, and one time don’t shed the block, just drive the tackle into the guard and close the hole, the keep your feet and position in case RB tries to squirt out somewhere else. Gotta like this guy to anchor and attract other top D-liners.

  45. krump1_AKA_protector April 8, 2012 3:48 am

A couple more studs for the Warrior Ohana…awesome! Keep ’em coming. And I agree with others that it was an awesome practice. There was also a darn fine baseball game to follow with the BaseBows pulling it out in the 10th!

  46. wafan April 8, 2012 3:58 am

A peaceful Easter to the world.

  47. wafan April 8, 2012 4:05 am

Welcome home to the new Warriors!

The new ATF — Andrade, Tuaau and Falemalu.

    Whoo-hoo!!!

  48. wafan April 8, 2012 4:09 am

Happy birthday to the blog mascot!

You are old enough to drink . . . directly from the (toilet) bowl.

    Woof-hooooooooo!!!

  49. wafan April 8, 2012 4:47 am

    Hey! Half century.

  50. hossana April 8, 2012 5:30 am

wow, my perspective is that this football staff has done more in recruiting and socializing with the local coaches in these past three mos. than the previous staff did in their four yrs…and also, one of the a.d.’s attending yesterday practice from one of the largest public h.s. said that many of the football players from his school would love to play at UH with Chow et. co. and will be working toward making that their goal and also indicated that the staff is so acclimated in working with the local schools that everyone seem to be energized in directing their student-athletes to give UH fair consideration in the recruitment wars…..geez, this attitude is completely different from previous yrs. and look who was at yesterday’s practice…there was Coach Torres from Kahuku with many of his players taking in the practice and they seemed to be enjoying it and he also made some nice comments about Coach Chow and his staff……

  51. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 5:34 am

Happy Easter! What a glorious day…to have an “egg hunt.”. May the best man win his coveted Green Jacket. And tomorrow will be a glorious day for…UH practice.

  52. WarriorNY April 8, 2012 6:15 am

ThanKs for the write up on the defense ST. I think it works very well, given our personel. I can’t wait to see Edwards lined up, man to man, on the number one WR of the other team. He could be our Darrell Revis…

  53. bigislandkurt April 8, 2012 6:21 am

    Tuaau or Tua’ua?

At any rate, great (re) pick up. Let’s all hope that bradduh in fact completes that AA degree in December.

    Happy Sunday my friends.

    BIK

  54. Kekoa April 8, 2012 6:47 am

    Happy Easter BIK!

Howz that little scatback doing? Big sister leading the egg hunt today? Hahaha…the good times roll.

  55. kapakahi April 8, 2012 6:50 am

Correct spelling for last name is Tua’au…..not Tua’ua.

Tua’au originally transferred from Pasadena City College (PCC) to American River College in the summer but things didn’t work out there so he ended up transferring again to Riverside City College (RCC) last September after the 2011 season had already started. Tua’au practiced all last season with RCC team while redshirting.

  56. Da Punchbowl Kid April 8, 2012 6:56 am

    Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂

Praise and thanks for a risen Savior.

    Welcome to the new recruits.

Coach Chow makes huge strides in the little things, and we see big results. Said it before, he is very precise and deliberate in the way he’s doing things. Saturday’s events are further proof of that.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  57. Kekoa April 8, 2012 7:02 am

PP ~ Tiger not quite ready for prime time. I think the lefty will finish strong and wear the Green jacket at the end of the day.

Na Koa tournament is at Kunia on Tues?

  58. kapakahi April 8, 2012 7:09 am

Awesome recruiting job by TT! Good to see that TT and LP are already real tight.

TT helped land Tua’au….and will definitely help land more top recruits….both locally and from mainland.

  59. Da Punchbowl Kid April 8, 2012 7:12 am

It troubles me that we have yet to see an ID card for the blog mascot confirming his age. And we don’t even have a name for him. Is his name simply “Mascot” and is he okay with that? Is so, doesn’t the animal desrve a blog nic too?

And while its obvious – based on his tummy-full-of-food-and-beer look – that he is a Tsaiko, we don’t know much else about him. Could he please offer up a bio, resume or some other info?

We don’t need a birth certificate just yet, his AKC pappers will suffice.

    Nah,nah just kidding…

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MASCOT!

    YOU DA MAN, DAWG!

    or should that be…

    YOU DA DAWG, MAN!

    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  90. papajoe2 April 8, 2012 8:42 am

UH athletics could lose up to $2 million. Its a good thing coach Chow’s salary is less than the previous coach. At least that would help some.

  91. Da Punchbowl Kid April 8, 2012 8:44 am

Great quote from toady’s article in the SA:

“After Saturday’s practice, the Warriors gathered at midfield. To rousing cheers, Andrade was introduced as the newest Warrior.”

    THAT’S how you build programs!

    Football is making money.

  95. whitey April 8, 2012 8:50 am

Happy Easter and may my friend, sunshine, make your day bright and cheery.

  97. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 8:57 am

Not sure why budget is a story now. Fiscal budget doesn’t end until June 30. Then they have to wait a month for outstanding payments. Then the unaudited budget has to be audited. And all of a sudden it’s October. In other words, UH onfield news is more newsy than budget hypotheticals.

  98. wafan April 8, 2012 9:05 am

  117. polywarrior4life April 8, 2012 11:08 am

Welcome Mike Adrade, and Rasheed Falemalu! Two thumbs up for Tua’au and others who found there way back home.

Junior Day. Hope the coaches clinic educated some of the hs coaches on commitment and dedication with there student athletes. Late bloomer……….Question…….out of all these local high school recruits, how many of them are on track and is considered to be eligible in acceptance to UH? or a D1/D2 school? Is our local hs coaches evaluating that particular recruit with his academic/SAT/ACT? Is our hs coaches really dedicating and committing there time and efforts in assisting student athletes and there parents? Hmmm…….I know a few local hs school coaches that do, Darren Hernandez (Kapolei), Darnell Arseneaux (St. Louis), Kale Ane (Punahou), Nolan Takuda (Leilehua), Kawika Stant (Kam), Wendall Look (Iolani), Clint Onigama (Kaimuki), Reggie Torres (Kahuku), and Arnold Martinez (Moanalua). I could be wrong though and I may have missed a few. Based on the percentage of student athletes that qualified and attended D1/D2 schools over the last 5 years. Oh wait, Randall Okimoto (Farrington)??? Not! lol

BTW, the proper way to calculate dog years is to multiply by 10.5 years for the first two years of the dog’s life and then by 4 years for each year, thereafter. So the mascot would be 25.

  123. Kekoa April 8, 2012 12:12 pm

    Jmx22x ~

➡ Blog Mascot requires a Blog name.

    ➡ Mascot’s role is safety & security.

➡ Suggest *KAPU* be the official Blog name for the protector of the Clubhouse.

  124. whitey April 8, 2012 12:14 pm

mih, no wanda my dog wanted a birthday party every month. hahahahahaaa

  125. Loa April 8, 2012 12:15 pm

    happy easter gang!

Kekoa @130 – me like the mascot name

    DPK @93 – chicken skin

  126. Kekoa April 8, 2012 12:21 pm

Well there’s one vote! Thanks Loa.

    Any other suggestions?

  127. gaucho April 8, 2012 12:37 pm

nice weblog, just needing all over some blogs and forums, shows up a reasonably superior platform You are applying. I am at the present time applying Drupal for a couple of involving my web pages nevertheless looking to change one in all them to a platform very much the exact same to your own property being a test run. Anything get hold of you will suggest about this?

  128. Da Punchbowl Kid April 8, 2012 12:49 pm

    Kapu?! I LIKE it!

Kapu – The Tsaiko Wonder Dog! Spam and Sock Puppets beware!

  129. Da Punchbowl Kid April 8, 2012 12:55 pm

    Kekoa –

On behalf of myself and my twenty other aliases, we’d like to deliver a block of 21 votes in favor “Kapu” as the official blog mascot name. Kapu must protect this house! 😆 😆

  130. duffer April 8, 2012 1:05 pm

    BUBBA!

To win the Master’s and for the mascot’s name.

  131. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 1:11 pm

If Correa wants to leave the island, he has to get past his brothers. UH should be saying, red rover, red rover, send correa over.

  132. SteveM April 8, 2012 1:12 pm

    “Kapu” has my vote. 🙂

Now, this makes me wonder what would be a good blog name for one of homey’s cute puppies?

  133. tommui April 8, 2012 1:17 pm

HAPPY EASTER to ONE AND ALL!

Nice to hear about the recruiting effort!

stephen not to mention his mom who was quoted a couple of years ago, something to the effect that her boys are warriors.

  136. jm2375 April 8, 2012 1:35 pm

Kekoa – safety & security? Thought mascots were part of the cheer squad. You want security for the clubhouse, better to enlist Homey’s poodles.

  137. kawika49 April 8, 2012 1:40 pm

    Kapu is good

  138. kawika49 April 8, 2012 1:46 pm

Please allow both parties to donate first; and then, allow them to revise and extend their remarks.

  139. whitey April 8, 2012 1:49 pm

al, looks good and hope she does end up with the wahine vb team. kind of amazing that she would leave her hometown school in her jr year but others have done it, so if she does come to Hawaii, welcome Ashley.

  146. SteveM April 8, 2012 2:19 pm

Brew — some of the regulars will be at the road games this year as usual. Will you be attending any? I have the party list up but most have been quiet so far, but we know who the usual suspects are. 🙂 Two games in the Lo-Cal Tsai-ko area…

  147. Old Diver April 8, 2012 2:37 pm

(By running at a deficit, “the athletic department is, in effect, borrowing cash from other University of Hawaii units,” an independent auditor has told the UH Board of Regents.)………….This is utter nonsense. The legislature gives hundreds of millions to the University every year to fund programs, one of those programs being the athletic department. Using the logic from the auditor every department is borrowing cash from other University units. The BOR can create a deficit in any department by declaring that department needs to be self sufficient. Over the past ten years the legislature has given over four billion dollars to fund the University of Hawaii or over four thousand million dollars. The athletic departments debt is ten million or less than a quarter of one percent of that. Not many D1 universities can make that claim.

  148. tommui April 8, 2012 2:43 pm

#148 WHITEY – that’s good for DUFFER but he can’t claim his golf scores based on the achievement of others!

    But GOOD GOING DUFFER!!!! Congrats!

  149. madeinhawaii April 8, 2012 2:59 pm

    Old Diver,

They should over-fund the Athletic Department and the surplus of each year should be diverted to a needy department. The needy department that shows the greatest support for the athletic department should get it.

If every department was expected to be self-sufficient, how many would be running deficits, right now?

  150. whitey April 8, 2012 3:14 pm

counselor, also the keed is doing very good. not too far off the leader in the individual contest, but they still get 3 more rounds to play. i not sure, but i think the keed is headed to UH Hilo

  151. Kaimuki Kid April 8, 2012 3:38 pm

I hope everyone has nice Easter Dinner tonight…

  156. al April 8, 2012 4:05 pm

how many of you gonna be at practice tomorrow afternoon?

  157. al April 8, 2012 4:15 pm

    hey someone is hiding out…

roofer68 – You are wasting your time trying to make a comment about Kastl on the ST’s blog. Those people will not believe you. They only believe what other Tsaikos say.

  158. Kaimuki Kid April 8, 2012 4:19 pm

That is what I am planning to do with the bone and some ham from that shank. The ham shank was on sale at Safeway this past week @ .99 a pound for Safeway Club members. I got 10# I think they went up to 20# Shanks or Butts.

Usimg a baking bag to help keep the moisture in. The ham mwlts in your mouth…

Love the Mascot, but being married to a filipina princess, we are partial to canines….. 🙂

  161. gmahoney April 8, 2012 4:55 pm

    Yikes, Bulla. Not the Mascot!

  162. jm2375 April 8, 2012 5:09 pm

Bulla – da mascot is white, not black! 😆

  163. SteveM April 8, 2012 5:14 pm

  166. whitey April 8, 2012 5:46 pm

no prediction, but another “fun” day at practice.

  167. whitey April 8, 2012 5:47 pm

I was thinking the same thing, but then I remember my neighbor when we lived in Waianae.. “Nebber mind… we cook long time.. den come black.”

  169. Bulla April 8, 2012 6:26 pm

eh, wait, white rice to brown rice, all you gotta do is add some shoyu….right?

  170. jm2375 April 8, 2012 6:31 pm

note to self – keep Bulla away from mascot.

  171. madeinhawaii April 8, 2012 6:53 pm

Bulla… brown rice need fiber too.. fiber!.. so use a proper wooden spatula when you scoop em out.

  172. Bulla April 8, 2012 7:13 pm

haha, had a old friend to stop eating white rice….not good for you, and adding shoyu doesnt help, haha…. but i am going to try eating better, time to get healthy again….grandkid #2 is almost 1 month old…..grand daughter just made 2…. gotta hang around for a long long time 🙂

  173. chawan_cut April 8, 2012 7:20 pm

Don’t worry. I hired someone to shoot video. In case there are more legal issues, my attorney is coming to answer questions. It’ll be good to get resolution.

  182. cocobean April 8, 2012 8:52 pm

My gut feeling is he won’t show up. If he does I’ll make a small donation to the softball booster club.

  183. chawan_cut April 8, 2012 8:53 pm

that day in bama was a LOOONG day. i was surprised by how much we were able to do in tuscaloosa before the game, and how many pictures i took to try to capture just a small part of what their game weekend is like. they don’t get kicked out of the “parking lot” after the game. they can continue tailgating well into sunday (as well as the night before on friday). one can only dream….

  184. Stretch April 8, 2012 8:53 pm

No worry Cocobean, I’ll be there

  185. chawan_cut April 8, 2012 8:54 pm

and that song is awesome isn’t it? it was made by that vili-look a like guy that went to all those la-tech games with this hawaiian flag and conch shell. he used to be a local here who was a musician/dj and he remade the song to fit hawaii.

  186. 4-6 & 2 April 8, 2012 8:56 pm

Maybe one of the two Steves should show up tomorrow. One of them could engage in conversation to explain his view on this:

    Frazier, Dobelle should be supported

Herman Frazier’s recent selection as the University of Hawai’i’s new athletic director has stirred quiet controversy over the selection process itself and its product, Mr. Frazier. One of the first to congratulate Mr. Frazier was Dick Tomey, a local favorite for the position. That is the type of class and style we must learn from.

Evan Dobelle has demonstrated, time and again, his unabashed zeal to upgrade Manoa’s athletic program. He has gone beyond any of his predecessors at UH.

Case in point: Hawai’i’s men’s volleyball team and the NCAA tournament in State Park, Pa., this spring. While en route, Dobelle spoke with Mike Wilton, reassuring him that his soon-to-be-expired contract would be renegotiated in a timely manner, setting Wilton’s mind at-ease so he could focus on the tournament. Dobelle remained true to his word, and Wilton, to the relief of ‘Bow fans, ultimately remained in Hawai’i.

Then Dobelle called Vili Fehoko, Hawai’i’s beloved in-your-face mascot, and told him to board a plane with his troops because his energy and unique spirit of support were needed by the team. All this was done spontaneously.

Hawai’i won the National Men’s Volleyball Championship. I like that type of leader who will roll up his sleeves and get to work.

Let’s give Herman Frazier the opportunity he deserves and the support President Dobelle has earned. We all love our ‘Bows.

  187. oldtimer808 April 8, 2012 8:56 pm

I missed this but what exactly is happening tomorrow?

  188. madeinhawaii April 8, 2012 8:56 pm

Oh.. southern-comfort was his name?? or sumpting like dat…

  189. Ralph April 8, 2012 9:17 pm

    Chawan, wasn’t the guy’s last name Santiago…

Cocobean, the Na Wahine Softball boosters will gladly accept your donation, come on Steve, you got to show up, and Lanaiboy and jkjones, I know you are reading the blog the last two days, you got to show to settle this issue.

  190. cocobean April 8, 2012 9:18 pm

    Stretch,

I’ll take your word you’ll be there. Just joined the Wahine Softball Booster Club at the base clearing triple level.

Guess you’re not intimidated by the prospect of facing Steve and his posse, JK, Lanai, Uncle George and Steven Uyehara.

  191. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:21 pm

There was an argument last night. So, as peacekeeper, I set up a meeting at 5:30 pm at UH grass field. The principals agreed to show. Then one promised to bring his “close friend” Steve Uyehara and his “uncle” George Ariyoshi. We contacted Aloha United Way, which will accept $200 from the loser. Game on.

  192. papajoe2 April 8, 2012 9:21 pm

oldtimer808, read yesterday’s blog for some entertainment.

    Go Stretch!

  193. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:23 pm

Nope, Ralph, money goes to AUW.

  194. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:25 pm

    I’m neutral on this.

But after three years, this ends one way or another.

  195. Kevin April 8, 2012 9:29 pm

But after three years, this ends one way or another.

    Will it?

  196. Ralph April 8, 2012 9:30 pm

ST, I was referring to cocobean’s offer in #182 to make a small donation if Steve shows up.

  197. Steve April 8, 2012 9:32 pm

ST, like I mentioned, yesterday, what happens if jkjones and lanaiboy do not show up? I do not have any control over them.

  198. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:35 pm

I’m just looking forward to meeting everyone. Can’t wait to see Ariyoshi again.

  199. Steve April 8, 2012 9:36 pm

ST, you have not answered my question.

  200. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:38 pm

I’m glad you’re bringing Ariyoshi and Uyehara.

  201. Steve April 8, 2012 9:39 pm

ST, answer my question, if you have the guts to.

  202. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:40 pm

Show up tomorrow with Ariyoshi and Uyehara and I’ll tell you my ruling.

  203. Steve April 8, 2012 9:40 pm

ST, that is what I thought, no guts!!!!

  204. Steve April 8, 2012 9:41 pm

ST, you cannot even answer a simple question.

  205. al April 8, 2012 9:46 pm

stretch…i’ll bet you lunch that if steve shows up at least one other “blogger” will show up.

  206. Stretch April 8, 2012 9:47 pm

wow… ST has no guts??!!?? interesting

  207. al April 8, 2012 9:47 pm

steve…you really going to be there?d

  208. kama krab April 8, 2012 9:47 pm

Ho come on braddah Steve just show up and no worry about the rest of your friends. Nuff already cause you starting to piss me off and you really don’t want to do that. Nuff said.

  209. al April 8, 2012 9:48 pm

last time i saw st, he had a pretty big opu.

  210. jm2375 April 8, 2012 9:49 pm

ST has a gut, it’s pretty big. 😆

    *ducking for cover*

  211. Stretch April 8, 2012 9:52 pm

al – we should make the bet if Steve will show up himself….

  212. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:53 pm

    Steve

Since you only post as yourself and not others, how would you know if they show or don’t show?

You guys seem quite like-minded. I’m sure they’ll be glad to help you out.

Besides, I’m doing this for your benefit. You insist people are falsely accusing you of being a sock puppet. This is a way to clear your name and for AUW to make some money.

And, besides, everyone is looking forward to you bringing Ariyoshi and Uyehara.

  213. kama krab April 8, 2012 9:53 pm

Eh I say if braddah no show then SMU his arse cause the braddah good for nuttin anyway.

  214. cocobean April 8, 2012 9:54 pm

    Ralph,

I was concerned that Stretch might not show up. Since he assured me he’d be there, I made my donation to the Softbows.

It goes without saying that Steve will be there. He’s looking forward to put all his distractors in their place. He’s bringing some heavy hitters to back him up. He wants to show everyone he’s a person to be reckoned with. To show everyone in his own words that he’s “a mover and shaker” in this town.

In addition to the people he already mentioned, I hope he brings Laura too.

  215. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:55 pm

    Al, Jm:

I think the politically correct phrase is “core.”

  216. Steve April 8, 2012 9:56 pm

ST, wondering why you are evading the question.

  217. kama krab April 8, 2012 9:56 pm

Ho man I posting plenty. I must be really mad or I get plenty time on my hand. I think I gotta good sleep before I start getting out of hand.

  218. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:56 pm

    Kama, Kevin, etc.

Aw, I’m not a mean guy. I’m trying to help out Steve.

We need to save his rep from the dastardly Stretch.

  219. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:58 pm

    Steve:

If they show, you’re clear, and Stretch writes a check.

If they don’t, we go to round 2.

Remember, this is a bet among you guys. I’m the mediator trying to find a peaceful resolution.

  220. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 9:59 pm

Anyway, we’re all looking forward to seeing Uyehara. I’m bringing a belated gift.

  221. jm2375 April 8, 2012 9:59 pm

ST – “core” implies there’s some muscle in there.

  222. Steve April 8, 2012 10:01 pm

ST, read my question again, you seem to not understand the question.

  223. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:02 pm

Some people have six packs, some people have a keg.

  224. kama krab April 8, 2012 10:03 pm

Eh no problem ST just making sure everything pono. You know us young guys we no waste time with the small talk. That’s why I telling this clown Steve for show up or shut up. No worry about his addah friends.

Oh and we all know that you and Stretch can handle you guys stuff but just in case gotta keep some peace in the middle east, Nanakuli style.

  225. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:03 pm

    Steve:

    I already posted the answer.

    Now show up.

  226. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:04 pm

Since you’re not them, I’m sure they’ll show up.

  227. Stretch April 8, 2012 10:07 pm

Steve – read #216. Please don’t use a non-answer to your question as a reason for you to not show up.

  228. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:10 pm

    Stretch:

I answered his question. I said if they all show up, and we verify it’s them and not guys plucked from Moilili Field, then he wins.

If not, we go to Round 2.

Burden of proof is on him, not you.

  229. kama krab April 8, 2012 10:10 pm

Happy belated Easter to all. I think it’s safe for me go sleep since ST went answer the clowns question. No worry I going pray for all involved that thinks go well tomorrow. Aloha

  230. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:11 pm

    Stretch:

I’ll even make it simpler for him. If Uyehara shows up, by his invitation, I’ll make a donation to AUW.

  231. kama krab April 8, 2012 10:11 pm

    Sorry that should read,

    things go well

  232. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:13 pm

    Kama:

    No worries.

    Things will go swimmingly.

    I’m the peacekeeper, after all.

  233. kama krab April 8, 2012 10:18 pm

No worries here ST just making sure my family being taken care of. Like they say you mess wit one you mess wit um all. But I know you can handle your stuff ST. Now can go back to reading some good stuff coming from lower campus.

  234. Steve April 8, 2012 10:18 pm

ST, you at no time have answered my question. You have so far evaded my question. Here is the question again, what happens if jkjones and lanaiboy do not show up? I do not have any control over them.

It is such a simple question, why are you evading answering it.

  235. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:20 pm

If they don’t show up, then we go to round 2 and figure out how to settle this bet.

But we have not gone through round 1, because that’s tomorrow.

Since you’re not either of them, then you don’t know if they will show up or won’t show up, right?

But if they do, you win.

Why is this a concern now, anyway? You were agreeable to it yesterday. If anything, we’re all looking forward to seeing the former Guv and Mr. Sunrise.

  236. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:21 pm

#228, Steve. It’s right there…are you suddenly iliterate now? I think we’re looking more forward to seeing Uyehara and Ariyoshi than you, jkjones and Lanaiboy.

  237. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:22 pm

And by the way, bro, don’t get mad it me.

You’re the one whom everybody is after. I’m trying to help you out.

So, stick a sock in that attitude.

  238. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:27 pm

    Powder:

He’s trying to bait an argument because, for some reason, he doesn’t want to show up tomorrow.

That’s only half of it. He promised this:

No ST, I will supply the news person, my close friend Steven Uyehara, oh and I will bringing a lawyer with me, my uncle former Gov. George Ariyoshi, to mediate everything.

  239. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:31 pm

Did you know with donations to AUW, you can designate which charity too? Don’t forget I’ve asked Ms. Gennaula to bring a Donor Designation Form too.

ST – if Steve stays home, then jkjones and Lanaiboy can still show up and proceed to log into your laptop with their e-mail addresses.

  240. kev-1 April 8, 2012 10:33 pm

Sounds like there is going to be some action after practice tomorrow. Will there be a practice report and post-practice report posted on the blog tomorrow?

    Hope everybody makes nice-nice tomorrow.

Anyway, hope all y’all had a nice Easter. My stomach is sore right now, so I think it is safe to say that I did.

Stoked about the recent commits/signings too.

  241. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:35 pm

    Powder:

    Quite true.

But why wouldn’t he show up?

If they need a ride, I’ll send a cab. If they’re on a Neighbor Island, i’ll send a rep over. I’m willing to help out. I’m the peacekeeper, after all.

  242. Steve April 8, 2012 10:35 pm

ST, it has always been my main question. I have never deviated from it.

  243. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:37 pm

    kev-1

No action. It’s just seven guys showing up to settle a bet.

It’s not Survivor. There’s no challenge except showing up.

  244. markazulu April 8, 2012 10:37 pm

I went to school with Charles or Charlie from what we called him since 6th grade HE WAS ALWAYS A BIG GUY! But to be honest he also had a pretty bad temper he was pretty intimidating BUT i believe that maybe he matured in high school though if HE got mad he wasnt afraid to FIGHT lol I remember we had our senior song practice an well we had a lot of people complaining because we were getting chewed out from the choir teacher an THE KIDS were whining an complaining let me just say that CHARLIE yelled an stood up an the kids who were yelling shut up an listened they were so intimidated he had to be walked out an talked to by Coach Tokuda who is also if i recall one of the VP’s in the school. He was a excellent football player he would always be playing football by my apartment in wahiawa an let me tell you HE CAN MOVE for a big guy, strength, size you wont have to worry about him as a football player but IM sure he’s matured over the years just watch out if he loses his cool. I’ve never had a problem with him though an IM GLAD I NEVER DID! 😛

  245. 3-Prong April 8, 2012 10:37 pm

Why do we all know how this story will end. Kind of entertaining though.

  246. jm2375 April 8, 2012 10:37 pm

Will there be a live-stream of tomorrow’s “event”?

  247. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:39 pm

Steve, you already knew the conditions….you agreed to them. Man up. Everyone else is carving time out of their schedule to be there for you…the least you can do is to show up.

  248. wowlaulau April 8, 2012 10:39 pm

the software that this blog is using has an IP ban right? if it does why do they have to login with their e-mail, the logs should have the IP of every post….

  249. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:40 pm

If they do not show up, do you think you should be declared the loser?

  250. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:42 pm

If they use my laptop, then my IP shows up.

E-mail verification is an accurate way of settling this.

  251. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:46 pm

On another topic………..what a Masters. So happy for Bubba! Now THAT shot took GUTS.

  252. wowlaulau April 8, 2012 10:48 pm

yes but when they are posting from their PC, their IP will show up.. If a person is using a sock puppet, the same IP should show up unless they have different static IP’s from their ISP or are using onion routing

  253. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:52 pm

    Powder:

I’ve always wondered how the green jacket works. Do they have a bunch with different sizes, then give the one that fits to the winner? If so, ooh, can people buy one of the other jackets?

  254. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 10:56 pm

    Powder:

Thanks for help in coordinating this.

I guess we’re all set for tomorrow.

    Good job everybody.

  255. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:56 pm

Hey, backing up…isn’t this jkjones’ wager anyway? Aren’t wagers settled in person? Or, do we have some Wo Fat, Men-In-Black-Jackets action?

  256. Slugger April 8, 2012 10:57 pm

I’m with kama krab, no, not literally…but I’m going moe moe…

    Night, gang!

The mascot can hold down the fort.

  257. Steve April 8, 2012 10:57 pm

To answer your question, ST (#249), NO, and that is an emphatic, NO!!!!

Btw, I just sent you an email.

How will email verification settle this, if the other 2 do not show up?

Also, can I trust you, ST, to be fair, NO, reason, you are the Head of the Tsaikos.

  258. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 10:59 pm

ST – of course. Yes, we are ready…we are ALL ready, even Uyehara, Ariyoshi and Gennaula. Some heavyhitters there….

  259. Steve April 8, 2012 10:59 pm

wowlaulau, you have quite a few good points there, concerning IP address.

  260. al April 8, 2012 11:00 pm

    stretch…okay sounds like a bet.

  261. Steve April 8, 2012 11:00 pm

wowlaulau, btw, what the heck is onion routing, anyway?

  262. Kaimuki Kid April 8, 2012 11:01 pm

If caught in lie deny till you die. If you keep on denying long enough, people might believe your lie.

  263. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:02 pm

Sorry, Steve, I’m not accessing e-mails before tomorrow’s event.

Everything is on the up and up. Everything I do is going to be on the blog. You can either post your comments here or talk to me tomorrow.

  264. al April 8, 2012 11:03 pm

st…so your “core” is a protruding or bulging muscle?

i wanna know cause i have the same thing.

  265. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:06 pm

I took debate in high school.

    We learned about peripheral arguments.

  266. wowlaulau April 8, 2012 11:09 pm

guys this seems like a good thing to do because the person is such a pain in the arse but this person seems to have some mental issues/illness. Just don’t know if this is a good idea since the person could be mentally ill….

  267. Steve April 8, 2012 11:11 pm

ST, wowlaulau brought up a good point, about IP Addresses. You can use the IP Address to locate, at least, in what city, or zip code, location the Address is located. I am surprised you did not know that.

  268. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:11 pm

Steve, I’m really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Will you be arriving *with* Uyehara and Ariyoshi? I’m so impressed with your circle of friends and how you can call them on a Saturday night to show up on Monday afternoon. I mean, these are BUSY people and you got them to go to UH. Don’t waste their time, now…show up.

  269. wowlaulau April 8, 2012 11:12 pm

steve, my advice to you is to just show up tomorrow and shut it down for tonight…you are digging yourself a deeper hole….

  270. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:15 pm

    wow:

I don’t think it’s appropriate to label him. We’ll get to know him better when we meet tomorrow. I’m looking forward to the interaction.

  271. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:16 pm

When this is over, we can get back to the business of food, family, fun and football.

  272. al April 8, 2012 11:17 pm

steve…you’ve ignored my question for hours now.

aren’t you going to answer my query????

    al:

    April 8th, 2012 at 9:47 pm

steve…you really going to be there?

  273. Steve April 8, 2012 11:20 pm

ST, you to afraid to use the IP Addresses at your disposal, to find out that the Tsaikos are totally wrong.

  274. Steve April 8, 2012 11:22 pm

ST, the IP Address locator, will give you all the information you will need to settle this.

  275. Steve April 8, 2012 11:26 pm

ST, you know what, we settle this once and for all, with your boss being the mediator, have him research the IP Addresses. Unless you are afraid of finding out that your precious Tsaikos, are way off base.

  276. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:28 pm

Now, now Steve…trying to change the conditions on your terms? Remember, ST is trying to help YOU and is being a peacemaker. Just show up so Stretch can shut his big fat mouth.

  277. Steve April 8, 2012 11:30 pm

PowderPuff, one problem with that, ST, is the Head of the Tsaikos.

  278. al April 8, 2012 11:31 pm

so i assume that steve’s ignoring my question means that he won’t be showing up tomw?

  279. Steve April 8, 2012 11:33 pm

Does that mean, I do not TRUST ST, YES!!!!

  280. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:33 pm

What’s the problem? Then why don’t Ariyoshi be the mediator? He will be there, won’t he? Or one of the coaches? Shall we get other people to throw their time and energy into what really should be a simple meeting?

And….um, instead of badgering ST with changing conditions of tomorrow – which is rapidly turning into TODAY………..why don’t you answer al. It’s a simple yes or no question.

  281. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:34 pm

Yes, yes….yes, we know you don’t trust ST. But it doesn’t matter…there are dozens of others who’ll be there tomorrow who are not ST and/or the head of the Tsaikos. C’mon Steve, I’m trusting you. I’m banking my broke ass on you. Don’t let me down.

  282. al April 8, 2012 11:35 pm

    steve,,,turnabout is fair play.

    Steve:

    April 8th, 2012 at 10:18 pm

ST, you at no time have answered my question. You have so far evaded my question. Here is the question again, what happens if jkjones and lanaiboy do not show up? I do not have any control over them.

It is such a simple question, why are you evading answering it.

  283. Steve April 8, 2012 11:36 pm

Especially, when I know, emphatically, that I am right. Need someone who is impartial.

  284. al April 8, 2012 11:37 pm

    hahaha…i knew it.

  285. Steve April 8, 2012 11:37 pm

    PowderPuff, but they are Tsaikos.

  286. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:39 pm

Aren’t Uyehara and Ariyoshi impartial? I’m sure Uyehara will help out his grandma’s friend/neighbor. Got anyone else you want to name at the 11th hour?!?! Hey, where’s your pal jkjones? He’s been mighty quiet tonight.

  287. al April 8, 2012 11:39 pm

hate to tell you this but, you too are a tsaiko.

    hahaha.

    only you won’t show up.

  288. jm2375 April 8, 2012 11:39 pm

Sounds like we need law enforcement at the meeting also.

  289. al April 8, 2012 11:40 pm

i’ll ask my former neighbor, daniel mafua to come be the impartial person you request.

  290. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:41 pm

WHAT? Are you crazy?!?!? There are so many others who AREN’T Tsaikos there, who are perfectly capable of impartial judgement. C’mon Steve…put up or shut up…Stretch is planning to. Why don’t you…don’t let me down.

  291. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:42 pm

I’m not going to be baited into peripheral arguments.

If Steve wants to win the bet, he has to at least show up. And he needs to bring Uyehara and Ariyoshi. He mentioned them as a threat. Well, time to come thorugh.

So there it is. Show up or don’t show up. But if Steve doesn’t show, and he doesn’t bring Uyehara and Ariyoshi, then people will judge him on that.

Steve made this a public debate. A lot of time and resources have been wasted on this. Everything is on the table for tomorrow.

  292. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:44 pm

By the way, by my count, you’re bringing FOUR backers: Uyehara, Ariyoshi, jkjones and Lanaiboy. Um, that’s a little over-the-top. Do you need to handicap this match even further? You already got so many on your side and you’re begging for more…an impartial party?

  293. al April 8, 2012 11:44 pm

by not showing up…will be the biggest “make A**” of the century.

  294. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:44 pm

    Are they remaking Billie Jean?

    Because somebody is moonwalking.

  295. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:45 pm

Man in the Mirror – whose face does Steve see in the mirror?

  296. Steve April 8, 2012 11:47 pm

ST, if you do not use the IP Address Locator to settle this, you are not worth my trouble. It only takes seconds to do. I just used it to locate my nephew’s IP Address. Plain and simple, you DO NOT want to find out that one of your Tsaikos, is way of base on this one.

  297. Steve April 8, 2012 11:48 pm

Not necessarily, al, ST is protecting Stretch from doing that.

  298. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:49 pm

Why don’t you show up so you can personally shove the IP address issue (and everything else) up everyone’s you-know-what? It’s really simple….you don’t live in Ewa, do you? So, showing up should be no problem at pau hana time.

  299. Steve April 8, 2012 11:50 pm

ST, it is not a peripheral argument. Plain and simple, use the IP Addresses at your disposal to settle this. Like I said, it will only take a couple of minutes to do.

  300. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:52 pm

Begging at the 11th hour doesn’t work. Steve, just be Bubba….BRING IT!

  301. al April 8, 2012 11:52 pm

    steve…yes it will.

  302. Steve April 8, 2012 11:52 pm

Not true, ST, is protecting Stretch, by not using the IP Address Locator.

  303. al April 8, 2012 11:53 pm

anyway, there are other more accurate meaures to discover identity.

  304. al April 8, 2012 11:54 pm

    is that you steve???

    http://www.sounddogs.com/sound-effects/2170/mp3/104050_SOUNDDOGS__bi.mp3

  305. Steve April 8, 2012 11:55 pm

PowderPuff, I am not begging, in one bit. I am just telling ST, how he can end this, very quickly. He has the IP Addresses at his disposal. But is very reluctant to use it, cause it will put Stretch in a very bad light.

  306. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:57 pm

The conditions of today’s meeting were made very explicitly last night and you agreed. Don’t you see YOU have the most power to put Stretch in the worst light of all? Just come, it’s not a big deal…you will come, show them up and Stretch will shut his big, fat mouth. Wouldn’t that be just so sweet for you?

  307. Steve April 8, 2012 11:57 pm

As much as I hate to say it, I want to thank, wowlaulau, for bringing up the IP Addresses. Totally forgot that it was the easiest way to settle this.

  308. Stephen Tsai April 8, 2012 11:59 pm

I’m in charge and there will be a meeting tomorrow.

And everybody better bring who they said they will bring.

    That’s it.

Argue, whine, make accusations. I don’t care.

    That’s how it will be.

And just so people know I’m impartial, I actually have info that I’m not going to share. Unless i have to. Do I have to?

  309. PowderPuff April 8, 2012 11:59 pm

You gonna thank wowlaulau for urging you to go to practice TODAY, too? #269 if you need a reference marker.

  310. Stephen Tsai April 9, 2012 12:03 am

I’m pretty sure Wow told Steve to show up.

Listen, bud, if you want to back out, it’s your prerogative. We can call it off. I don’t really care about this or you. This is a potluck, and you come empty-handed.

You decided to make this an issue, like you do with everything else.

    So show up.

  311. Steve April 9, 2012 12:04 am

ST, what are you afraid of, use the IP Address Locator.

  312. Stephen Tsai April 9, 2012 12:06 am

    Show up.

  313. Stephen Tsai April 9, 2012 12:08 am

    Show up!

  314. Stephen Tsai April 9, 2012 12:13 am

Everybody is waiting for him to whine again so I can type: Show up.

  315. al April 9, 2012 12:15 am

    he won’t show up.

  316. Stephen Tsai April 9, 2012 12:16 am
