Spring football: Practice #12
It was Junior Day in Manoa, with some of the state’s top 2017 prospects touring the campus and attending today’s 2-hour practice, which featured various scrimmage-like sessions.

first?
Stephen, there’s been reports that the NCAA will allow the Univ. of Hawaii to start the football season one week earlier than the rest of the season. Also, any team that has to play at Hawaii during the season also can schedule a game before the regular season. Any truth to this?
Defensive Ends v Offensive Linemen in Okie drills. I thought the DEs won these battles. DEs were Meffy Koloamatangi, David Manoa and Tevita Eldridge.
#3. Totally agree
Not sure its a good thing?
warriorsanddolphins,
That is in fact true. Pretty cool for UH to have that game…
So who do you guys like better for QB, Z or W? I wish i could watch practice…
Best of luck to Defo Buckner in next Thursday’s draft should be top 10 pick – at 6’7 1/4 290 lean and mean looking Sole’
Best of luck to ex-Crusader Kamalei Correa hoping for first round or early 2nd. Congrats to proud parents Weston & Lani. Go Saints!
Heard we picked up a Bay Area kid … 6-5, 255 lineman. Any news on this yet?
Someone posted on yesturday’s blog that it was OT Josaiah Maama
WarriorNY, I like Z, but I thought W looked better at today’s practice.
#9 & #10, he attended today.
KHON sports says UH is still on Tagovailoa’s list. He will select his school on May 2 on KHON news at 6 pm.
“Tagovailoa, the 42nd ranked player in the nation according to scout.com, will choose between his top six schools: Hawai’i, Ole Miss, USC, UCLA, Alabama, and Texas A&M.”

A SI.com list did not have UH nor UCLA, but had Auburn.
GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
No question that Tagovailoa can bring Hawaii back to the top rank.
Whether he would want to honor the State of Hawaii by doing that is another question.
It was nice to see Tagovailoa at yesterday’s practice. He won’t be coming to Hawaii, but I see his presence as being respectful to the Hawaii program.
