Protecting the house

For former UH QB Colt Brennan, it felt like a surreal incident initially.

A few days ago, he heard a noise in his house. He did not react immediately because he was fatigued from recent travels and he still was suffering from a medical condition resulting from a head injury sustained when he was a passenger in a 2010 car accident.

But then Brennan said he realized that there were indeed burglars in his house. After hearing Brennan, the intruders scampered. Brennan said he later learned they stole a small box and his car. Brennan said the car was insured against theft.

Brennan said he probably will have to deal with issues from the head injury for the rest of his life; a condition that ended his football career.

Sorry to hear about Colt…Is he still residing in Hawaii? Colt did so much for the UH and State of Hawaii, so I always wish him the best. Sad that the accident altered his life and dreams forever.

    Good Morning Gangeez! 🙂

Welcome back Mr. Tsai – missed the WB.

I know how Colt Brennan feels. I struggle daily with the vestigial remains of a head injury suffered many years ago. Prayers for Colt, and all the best wishes for him going forward. People don’t fully appreciate what effects head injuries can have – you can see a person as seeming to be perfectly okay, but can’t imagine what is going on in their neurological and psychological processes.

Saddest of all, but for those injuries, which kept him out of the LA Kiss roster in arena football, I know Colt would have excelled there and would have likely have made it into an NFL or CFL camp.

God bless and keep you Colt Brennan. Prayers for you every day. You are and will forever remain a hero and icon in Hawaii sports.

Really too bad about Colt’s head injury resulting from the car accident on the Big Island. My best to Colt. Wasn’t Colt a volunteer coach at Kahuku HS?

  21. Old School Dave June 22, 2015 3:11 pm

Rapper P. Diddy (Sean Combs), father of a UCLA player, was arrested at the Bruin’s athletic complex. Diddy got into a fight with a coach, while watching the players work out in a S & C practice. The S & C coach had yelled at Diddy’s son, which Combs took offense to and confronted the coach on the field. Later, Diddy grabbed a kettle bell and confronted the same coach in his office.

  22. UH4eva June 22, 2015 3:41 pm

Diddy is lucky Jeff Ulbrich is not coaching there he would have put him out!

Wonder what is up in Colt’s next chapter?? Coaching??

  24. Ipu Man June 22, 2015 3:55 pm

    Prayers for you Colt.

    Welcome back ST and everyone.

It just breaks my heart everytime I hear some bad happens to Colt. He gave the SOH and UH so much by coming back for the 2007 season. He deserves nothing but the best.

  26. 3-Prong June 22, 2015 7:59 pm

Yes, yes, all the best to our favored son Colt. His success, in my opinion was partly due to his willingness to adopt our local culture as his own. Remember the Hawaiian Island haircut. Cheeee! So willing to sign autographs too. (Two jerseys, a football, and a mini helmet…..) mahalo for the memories. Our family will never forget.
