Masch invited to all-star game

There is football life after Manoa for former UH defensive end Zach Masch.

Masch has been invited to participate in the Jan. 21 AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif. Former NFL coaches Dick Vermeil and Tom Flores will lead the teams.

Masch has signed with agent William Baldini of BAC Sports Management. Masch is training in Arizona.

Wideout Royce Pollard and linebacker Aaron Brown are playing in Monday’s Casino Del Sol All-Star Game. Defensive tackles Kaniela Tuipulotu and Vaughn Meatoga are in the Jan. 21  East-West Shrine Game. Meatoga also will participate in the NFL Scouting Combine next month.

Agent Kenny Zuckerman said Hawaii’s pro day is now scheduled for March 6 in Carson. All draft-eligible players who were on UH’s 2011 roster are eligible to participate.

* * * * *

Ashley Lelie, a former UH and NFL receiver, will continue to work with the Warriors through the spring semester. He served as a student assistant the past two UH seasons.

* * * * *

Middle blocker Shane Welch of the volleyball Warriors will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this morning. He expects a few weeks of rehabilitation.

* * * * *

Two good things about the UH men’s volleyball booster club. Before matches, head coach Charlie Wade gives members a “chalk talk” on strategies and scouting reports. After the match, there is a potluck, which often includes the opposing team. That’s what’s unique about volleyball: Compete on the court, break bread together afterward.

All it needs is a catchier name. For instance, the booster club for the Lewis Flyers is known as the Frequent Flyers Program.

  9. Bugaz January 13, 2012 6:36 am

Are any of the games televised that these Warriors will be in? Mahalo

Gotta check the listings, but I imagine all-star games can’t survive without some sort of TV deal.

  15. Da Punchbowl Kid January 13, 2012 6:40 am

Sweety and I plan to go to a couple of Men’s V-Ball games to watch the team AND for the “conversation”. 😆

    Roger that thanks!

  17. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 6:40 am

It’s too early to pick favorites, but Lewis Powell has emerged as the early leader of the up-and-coming coaches.

  27. eagle January 13, 2012 7:44 am

…and these guys All Come with:

    – Size (+/- 2″),

    – Credentials (Stats/Awards/ Good Qualifying Grades & Scores); and

    – Awesome Videos ?

    ————–

    – Also Looking Forward to what these awesome AND numerous recruiters scratch up (late) in the next few weeks with more than a couple days on the clock …

[Watch out USC/BYU…unlike some commentators i Do Not Expect to see a lot of start-up errors with the new staff — The Bracketing on Performance i think was, “Football is Football”…]

    – This is very consistent with the BB Coach Gib model (Recruiting Head Coach & Assistants) on Performance Enriching Steroids / HGH (for spriteful, youthful pace & quickness in steps)

  28. cincodemayonnaisse January 13, 2012 7:44 am

What’s are chances with them and of them, which ones are finds from our previous staff?

  29. Stretch January 13, 2012 7:46 am

    Good morning Tsaikos!!

Good luck to the former Warriors who are trying to extend their careers!

  30. ai-eee-soos January 13, 2012 7:49 am

    any word on Rolo ?

mebbe he should apply at Utah.

if Crowton is being considered, so should Rolo. from yesterday’s Ute news…..

” Kyle Whittingham isn’t confirming anything including reports that former BYU coach Gary Crowton has interviewed for the vacancy created by Norm Chow ‘s departure to Hawaii. ”

    Crowton ???

  31. mo808 January 13, 2012 7:49 am

Best wishes to former FB Warriors! Get well soon Shane! Hope the coaches are successful with this weekends recruits and can secure more verbals!

  32. eagle January 13, 2012 7:50 am

    ? TRUE ?:

    Local Recruits can Visit Officially or Un-Officially {“Just Come on Down!” but not at the Coach’s insistence?}

esp. IF they already have a Five-Trip Schedule (like Three, Four and Five Stars might have…)

    ——–

IF i was a Four-Year Grad, Hawai’i would be An Ideal Spot for Fifth-Year Success, especially this year where everyone is a “first-year” player (in-system)

  33. Stretch January 13, 2012 7:50 am

One observation… while leaving the men’s volleyball game last night around 9pm, I did notice that the lights were ON in the football offices.

  34. tommui January 13, 2012 8:00 am

    GOOD MORNING HAWAII!

Re: #33 Stretch: The electric bill may be high but the expectations are higher!

Wonder if there will be a Q&A with Coach Chow (or the other coaches) for the Tsaikos?

ST – good story on the team meeting yesterday!

  35. (Jesse) James January 13, 2012 8:12 am

Good morning Tsaikos…Woo Hoo tip fitty!!!

Good luck to the former Warriors on their pursuit of their dreams!!!

Watched Men’s V-Ball on the tube last night….didn’t catch a glimpse of Stretch or A-Joe, although I might have heard their echos in the cavernous arena….

  36. Annoddah Dave January 13, 2012 8:13 am

    ST & Tsaiko Blog Dogs:

@#34, TM, that’s a good idea. A meet and greet the new coaches by the #1 UH football blog. It could be a pot luck, pseudo tailgate held at the parking structure. I’ll bring brauts!

  37. Dan-O January 13, 2012 8:14 am

#33….I believe Rauschner and Powell are temporarily living in their offices.

  38. jkjones January 13, 2012 8:15 am

scoring a Mike Pennel would send a resounding message nationally. Hawaii has never….immediate impact player–no redshirting. forget it, the sec and pac are hot on his butt….it could never happen…?

  39. Dan-O January 13, 2012 8:15 am

Re: Potluck after VB games including visiting team….only in Hawaii!

  43. MattyBoy January 13, 2012 8:26 am

    Jkjones,

I agree with you. Just a free, nice vacation for him. After that, he’ll decide NOT to play for Hawaii

  44. jm2375 (Infuse) January 13, 2012 8:26 am

    Good morning!!

Warrior vb booster Club – a couple of points of clarification:

    – chalk talks are prior to the 1st game of the series and sometimes the assts talk

    – potlucks are generally once a month during the season. Haven’t heard if one will include the opposing team. Last year, one was with Cal Baptist.

    – post-game meals are usually provided by 2 or more boosters either by providing food or helping to pay for a catered meal.

I have an extra ticket for tonight’s game. Who wants it? Lemme know.

  45. jm2375 (Infuse) January 13, 2012 8:37 am

  46. Kevin January 13, 2012 8:39 am

So… who took down all those framed photos of former Warriors in the NFL at the back of the offices???

Or did they just move them?

  47. Hiflyer January 13, 2012 8:41 am

isn’t that 6’7″ te also tripping this weekend?

  53. Warrior Toa January 13, 2012 8:50 am

Got a great flick suggest for our Poly men to watch on their free time…including the coaches…..

    ‘The Orator’…….

The most interesting aspect of this film is the Samoan Culture-which has yet to be committed to Cinema,

Set in present day, ‘The Orator’ presents a contemporary society which is still heavily rooted in tradition.

-Rugby coach..there are 3 D’s to have a success In a winning season.

    1. DICIPLINE

    2. DEFENCE

    3. (DAAKLE)….hahaha!!!!

i laughed so hard i felofasofa.

  57. al January 13, 2012 9:00 am

  58. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:00 am

Recruits start their visits at 11 a.m. today.

  59. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:01 am

    Saw DPK’s nephew yesterday.

Asked him if he was going to be a tight end. He said no.

  60. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:02 am

    Kevin:

They’re moving the pictures to the reception area, so visitors may view them.

  61. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:04 am

It was pretty empty at UH this morning.

JD is out of town until Tuesday.

But I did get to see Chow. He always uses the stairs. No time to wait around for an elevator.

  62. al January 13, 2012 9:06 am

    60…its about time.

  63. jkjones January 13, 2012 9:06 am

    @ 43, mattyboy. 🙂

actually im open-minded with chow’s staff, i know norm. im teasing. chow maybe the best recruiting head coach ever for hawaii, but time, not hype, will tell. the fact that hawaii has pennel on their visit-list speaks volumes. mike pennel represents the type of defensive player that defines your system and level of performance this regime expects from its interior D-line. it all starts in the trench, on both sides of the ball. based on chow’s first two OL verbs, hawaii is on its mark. just know, the first five, set the bar.

  64. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:07 am

    Chawan Cut:

What could have been more important than heckling Angel Perez?

  65. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:08 am

Question on the transfers: If you’re a three-year graduate (who redshirted as a freshman), do you get to transfer and have two years to play, or must you wait until after your fourth year to transfer?

  66. al January 13, 2012 9:10 am

tight end…the guy i thought best suited is getting a shot at it. waylon lolotai has been so misused and under used since he got here.

in the old days, when tight ends were a new position. all the guys who were too slow to play ends/wrs, too light play oline/dline, were given shots at this new position. often they were the best athletes on the team.

  67. al January 13, 2012 9:12 am

65…is this a subliminal message or an actual case study?

hopefully, that issue can/will be resolved as soon as possible.

  68. urbankid January 13, 2012 9:12 am

Pennel’s teammate is Justin Turner who is coming in May, and he turned down Arkansas, #5 team in the nation, I think his visit is for real and he is really considering UH

  69. PolyMom January 13, 2012 9:15 am

My boy said he was INSPIRED by the first team meeting. And for him INSPIRED is a big word. After the meeting was over he said he felt like he could beat ANY team. But now he got to move his classes around a bit.

  70. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:21 am

I’d like to see Lolotai as a fullback, like that big guy Utah used last year.

  71. papajoe2 January 13, 2012 9:21 am

Way to go former UH water polo player Lauren Cheape. She the current Miss Hawaii and a contestantat in the Miss America pagent and in the hunt. Won the 3rd round. Brother Matt plays volleyball for UH men. Go get ’em.

  72. urbankid January 13, 2012 9:21 am

#69, I assume no more morning practices?

  73. al January 13, 2012 9:24 am

70…you remember that big guy, asiata. we recruited him, albeit unsuccessfuily.

  74. A-House January 13, 2012 9:28 am

We met Lauren 2 years ago at an after match potluck for the MVB team at the Stan Sheriff

Then, she was very quiet, demur young lady. Matt is a bit more rascal. Mom and Dad are just great individuals!

  75. al January 13, 2012 9:29 am

just an interesting thought that was discussed a couple of weeks with some folks…

liko satele started the season on fire against colorado.

between then and the last game he was “lost in the shuffle”.

he gets back in the game, the last game, and tears it up.

wouldn’t it be something if he shows up on some nfl roster next year?

  76. A-House January 13, 2012 9:29 am

    #73:

I was under the impression he was not interested in UH at all – my mistake?

  77. al January 13, 2012 9:29 am

somehow, brother brashton had similar tracks.

  78. al January 13, 2012 9:30 am

ahouse…there was interest, but, apparently not enough. he has family here.

  79. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:35 am

And Cheape jump-roped to Hawaii Five-0

  80. Couch potato January 13, 2012 9:42 am

me thinks there is a mixup between Shawn Asiata and Paulay Asiata.

  81. Bugaz January 13, 2012 9:43 am

    11:15 expecting photos! Nah kidding

  82. PolyMom January 13, 2012 9:47 am

@#69 I assume it looks that way. But when he called I have not heard him pumped up like a beast for a long time. When he used the word INSPIRED we were blown away. And he asked us to get his Trainer back for conditioning. He wants to bring his A game on. LOL we still laughing about the inspired feeling.

  83. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 9:52 am

They’ll be at the volleyball match tonight.

  84. Garret January 13, 2012 9:55 am

I hope that the recruiting weekend goes well and that the coaches get a lot of commits this weekend!

  85. Garret January 13, 2012 9:59 am

If Coach Chow gets so many commits that he needs to grayshirt a few recruits, I hope that things are communicated better and handled better than how Ellis Henderson felt the previous coaching staff handled things.

    Off-topic –

dpk, homey & LizKauai – GoT 2nd season starts April 1!!!

    Da imp rules!

  91. Stephen Tsai January 13, 2012 10:14 am

Ellis Henderson is a good guy, but it was an unfortunate situation.

He was recruited by Chris Tormey, who left shortly after.

Then it was learned that Henderson would require surgery that would prevent him from playing in 2011.

As a grayshirt, he was allowed to work out at the facility, and he could watch videos and read the playbook on his own. But he wasn’t allowed to practice. (JC grayshirts are allowed practice with their JC teams.)

    Wish him the best.

  92. madeinhawaii January 13, 2012 10:17 am

found this.. but it’s confusing and I’m not sure it addresses your question..

    Graduate Student Eligibility

A student-athlete who is enrolled in a graduate or professional school of the college or university which he or she previously attended as an undergraduate student may participate in intercollegiate athletics, provided he or she has eligibility remaining and is within five calendar years of initial full-time collegiate enrollment for Division I and within the first 10 full-time semesters of collegiate enrollment for Divisions II and III.

Also, a student-athlete who has eligibility remaining and is within the specified 10-semester period may participate while enrolled in a graduate or professional school at a Division II college or university other than the institution at which he or she completed an undergraduate degree.

Finally, a student-athlete who has eligibility remaining and is within the specified five-year period may participate while enrolled in a graduate or professional school at a Division I college or university other than the institution at which he or she completed an undergraduate degree, provided he or she meets the criteria of the one-time transfer exception to the general transfer residence requirement. That exception is as follows:

The student-athlete must be seeking to participate in a sport other than baseball, football, basketball and men’s ice hockey, except that a student-athlete who seeks to participate in NCAA Football Championship Subdivision may use this exception only if transferring from a Football Bowl Subdivision program.

The student-athlete may not have transferred previously from another four-year institution unless he or she transferred previously and received an exception to the transfer residence requirement because his or her institution either discontinued the sport or did not sponsor the sport in which the student-athlete is a participant.

The student must have been in good academic standing and eligible to compete had he or she decided to remain at the previous institution.

The student-athlete’s previous institution must certify in writing that it has no objection to the student-athlete being granted an exception to the transfer residence requirement.

NOTE: This exception does not apply to a student-athlete who attends a Division III institution for graduate school, unless the student-athlete is attending the same institution at which he or she was an undergraduate.

NOTE: If the student-athlete transfers to the certifying institution from a Division III member institution and meets the above-mentioned conditions, he or she may be eligible to compete but may not receive athletically related financial aid during that year.

Please contact the certifying institution or conference for additional information. You also may contact the NCAA academic and membership affairs staff at 317/917-6222 if you have further questions.

  93. jkjones January 13, 2012 10:22 am

i believe NC needs players now! gray-shirting is not a recruiting tact that is used as a main menu item–it is ala carte strategy that has many moving parts–risk-investment. Chow is going after frontline players with ready-ability and competing head-on with other programs. folks need to sit back and watch chow’s method and recruiting strategies define itself. we have sampled a glimpse–he has no fear in going toe-2-toe against bigger programs to get quality impact players. his juco route underscores what positions he needs an immediate buzz for 2012.

  94. nanakuli January 13, 2012 10:24 am

Are players allowed to try to walk on the team for spring practice, or do they wait for the fall?

  95. nanakuli January 13, 2012 10:26 am

    Poly Mom,

Do big time schools like USC have walk on programs?

  96. aaron January 13, 2012 10:34 am

Mr. Tsai – I think that if you graduate in 3 years you can transfer and play right away, as long as the school you are transferring in offers a graduate program that your current school doesn’t offer. the key to being able to play is enrolling in grad school. I think Rick Tune did this?

  97. cake noodle January 13, 2012 10:43 am

Tight ends are valuable players nowdays because they are athletic and big. At Green Bay, the coach kept 5 tight ends on the roster because they can catch, block, play H back or fullback and are great on special teams. Also look at New England and how they use the tight ends and move them all around. Hope Chow does the same.

  98. ai-eee-soos January 13, 2012 10:48 am

I’d like to see Leo Koloamatangi at TE, and starting this fall.

I’d like to see double TE formations too.

    SMASH or PASS.

  99. ai-eee-soos January 13, 2012 10:49 am

    somebody – get the hunnert

  100. Couch potato January 13, 2012 10:52 am

now which qb will guide the team?

  101. Kaimiloa January 13, 2012 10:55 am

Scout.com shows that Pennel cancelled his trip to UH.

  102. Last Call January 13, 2012 11:02 am

University of Texas libero was in the house at the SSC last night sitting with some of the Wahine, possible transfer ?

  103. jeezy33 January 13, 2012 11:04 am

    91. While I agree Mack is a NICE guy, I hope the fans on here are starting to realize the job as a HC was just too much for him to handle and he is suited off better at DC.

The recent article on Henderson transferring shows that he was promised a lot that wasn’t delivered. Freshman kids need guidance and it is a HC duty to get the freshman situated and make them feel they will be taken care of for the next 4 years. If it’s too hard to focus on grey shirts then maybe they should have stopped offering so many.

As far as recruiting goes, it seems like were making bigger strides in a matter of weeks than we did in years under Mack.

Things are looking brighter and all I can say is I am excited. Recruiting, leadership, 2nd half adjustments are all looking up from here.

  107. StanManley January 13, 2012 11:19 am

Since NC’s hiring, the energy is much different than having Rich Miano sliding right in as as HC. With the Pro-Set offense being installed and hiring of all the new coaches, I can say that the vibe is much different and the future looks bright.

On the flipside, if Miano was hired as HC, I would expect more of the status quo (in my opinion).

With the Downtown Athletic Club drawing attention from the business district, I would expect more sponsors supporting UH Athletics.

  108. jeezy33 January 13, 2012 11:21 am

    We had to clean house.

If we hired in house, the same players would get a head start over newcomers.

Hiring of Chow opens up positions everywhere and our guys come into camp with a new mindsets of having to outwork others for a position.

  109. letsgowarriors January 13, 2012 11:25 am

dont mean to intrude, but its just sad to hear all these recruiting screw ups by Mack and co. over the past 3-4 years. its not even about who they did or didnt offer, but how they treated players/recruits and communicated w them.

i feel like we burned a lot of bridges. thank god we cleaned house.

  110. jeezy33 January 13, 2012 11:27 am

  113. Kekoa January 13, 2012 11:41 am

Here’s another Tsaiko son the former coaching staff missed out on.

    Report from Rivals sez:

“The word on rehabbing USC offensive lineman Abe Markowitz is that the redshirt senior, who just might get an extra season of medical hardship eligibility after next year, has been given the all-clear from the doctors after fracturing a foot for a second year in a row. He’d won a starting spot at guard in preseason a year ago and if he can avoid another injury, Markowitz improves the USC O-line in quality and depth at all the three interior spots. For a numbers-limited Trojans program, having the tough and technically sound Markowitz back could be a big deal.”

I don’t understand all the hype surrounding Jeff Fisher. His record in Tennessee was 142-120 and 5-6 in the playoffs and never won a super bowl. Yet he basically could have chosen his job, which he actually did. Longevity does not equal greatness in my mind.

    Marketing of apparells.

Does the school have rainbow color headbands and wristbands with the H logo?

If not create those with each one having a code that can be scanned in when a game is attended. With that the fan or fans that are picked can win prizes. Could also have them paticipate in halftime contest to add to the event. Get discount at the food concession etc.

Each band purchased good for 10 to 20 swipes. After that new bands need to purchased inorder to continue to be valid to participate. (residual income)

Sell rainbow color ribbons for the female with the H logo.

Not sure if any of you are MMA fans or not, but . . .

Anthony Johnson weighed in 11 lbs over the required 185. And the fight will go on as scheduled. Fair or not? Shouldn’t there be some kind of penalty? Who knows how much the guy will weigh come fight night.

  123. d1shima January 13, 2012 12:46 pm

Jeff Fisher is a smart man…chooses to be HC in a much more favorable Division.

Salas is one of the many young ‘uns on that team who could be poised for success in the very near future. Hopefully, he’ll fit in with the new HC’s plans.

look, most informed-fans will not second guess chow w the tony t selection, esp after NC cleaned house. he also made bargain basement deals by selecting tommy lee to get his dc.

showing his shrewdness. there was no lee love affair with the exception that he worked w tommy previousily and feels comfortable that they can begin on the same page and work from there. he said as much.

tony t is in his mid-thirties and apparrently impressed chow w his energy. so, he will have to continue to hustle. moreover, as much as chow’s culture moves him to clean house–it also will move hime to fire members of his staff that underperform. so, dont get comfortable w anyone unless/until they produce. as chow has demonstrated in his instant presence–business is business and comes from a different culture of football than hawaii’s entitlement state.

    Another Sportsbow find:

UH offers OL/DL, E.K. Binns a scholarship. According to Tanks Ah on the WSN board, he played for Baldwin HS then moved to Florida for his senior year.

    news-press.com: http://www.news-press.com/article/20120110/SPORTS/301100022/Recruiting-Diggs-opts-play-spurrier?odyssey=tab%7Ctopnews%7Ctext%7CSports

Gators teammate E.K. Binns picked up an offer from Hawaii. Binns lived in Hawaii as a junior and is intrigued by the possibility of going back there.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder could play on either the offensive or defensive line in college and holds offers from Ivy League schools as well as FIU and FAU.

    Rising stars??? YIKES

It has to be Tuioti. Rolo has 0 knowledge of the offense that Chow wants to bring in so it would make no sense to retain Rolo. I think Chow is gonna bring in a guy he is comfortable with who understands his offense. Considering Chow is gonna probably call plays, I don’t think Rolo stays.

Tuioti on the other hand is the likely choice because he is our most efficient recruiter and puts in the most time there. Uses all the resources he has available. And unlike Rolo, his duties of being a D line coach wont really interfere in Chows offense. Tuioti has enough experience playing and coaching D line and it just makes sense.

Manoa wrote: Chow’s call, but I think Rolo is one of the rising stars in the coaching profession and worth keeping– the only one on the staff actually.

He was one of the three finalists for the OC position at Oklahoma State (down to Rolo, the Houston OC, and Gundy) last year and is holding off on another position because he wants to talk to Chow.

yo jeezy, you sayin we currently goin after ohio/texas guys?

  144. jeezy33 January 13, 2012 2:22 pm

The only one I know at the moment is Willie Henry a DT from Ohio and Sean Draper DB from Ohio.

I don’t think we have any current Texas guys but by next year, I know Chow will try to open that back up. Signing day is less than a month a way so realistically Norm is going to continue to recruit a lot of the higher touted guys Tuioti has been recruiting and guys he was recruiting while at Utah.

Also gonna have to expect a lot of JC guys to fill immediate needs for this coming season.

One guy I do want to go after is Grant Childress a slot from Texas though. Interested in Hawaii but the coaches at UH were to blind to offer. Might be too late now.

Its very possible Thom Kaumeyer could return to Jacksonville… Gotta stay tuned.

    jeezy33………… SAYS WHO? YOU?

    al #189, jeezy33 did

  192. mikesmith January 13, 2012 8:34 pm

#146 jeezy33 like al said, rumors can hurt our program and how things are done, come on, unless you have first hand knowledge, you don’t know that to be true.

  193. mikesmith January 13, 2012 8:36 pm

Heard jeezy33 has a kid on the team, plays defense but won’t play in Thom Kaumeyer’s scheme. Just saying…. Gotta stay tuned…..

    See how that works.

why did he drop his last name Feldstein? why did jon stewart drop Liebowitz?-… why did charlie sheen’s manager drop his last name… hmmmBuy Tera Gold

  196. tommui January 13, 2012 8:49 pm

If jeezy33 has first hand knowledge that Kaumeyer will not accept the position of DC, he should say so now. Rumors like this is destructive.

I don’t know what Thom Kaumeyer’s defensive schemes are like, but any player that can’t adapt to it, couldn’t be very smart or any good.

  197. madeinhawaii January 13, 2012 8:56 pm

Tspotted tsome tsaikos at the Tstanley tonight after the vball game on the tube tonight. Da Hawaiian, Gramps KK and Stretch had some face time, mighta tsaw the Tscreechers too, but couldn’t tell for sure.

When Tsai reports it, I’ll consider it confirmed, even then things can change.

Good night errybody, play nice as KK would say. 😉

  204. Hiflyer January 13, 2012 10:28 pm

DPK – That was them, even caught them at the end getting a picture wtih JP Marks.

  205. Slugger January 13, 2012 10:31 pm

Saw jmxxxx, Screecher1 getting her pic taken w/ ? JP Marks ?, and Koakane after the game.

    Good night, gang!

Congrats to Zack Masch! Great to hear he has another venue to show off his skills. Masch ’em, Monster!

  206. Leland Merton January 13, 2012 10:33 pm

Tried it twice, same error both times. But then on a third and fourth attempt, I think it went through without any confirmation, as my gold dropped by 4,000 accordingly. However, I’m not sure if the gold became listed with the errors or not. Maybe the third and fourth attempts just didn’t work because I didn’t have enough gold anymore.swtor credits

  207. jm2375 January 13, 2012 10:53 pm

That was a good game tonight but UH didn’t get the desired result. UCLA didn’t look that great against Springfield even though it was a sweep.

Yes, that was Screecher #1 & Screecher #3 getting their picture taken w/ JP Marks. Screecher #3 won the Y cam contest. When you win one of them things, you have fill out a tax form. Sheesh…

  208. Chris Hart January 13, 2012 11:04 pm

Who started this rumor on our dc?

That’s a bit irresponsible to begin with.

Do you have any idea what kind if damage its doing?

    ‘last call’ on 102,

Is the Texas libero you were referring to a “hapa”-looking girl named Sara(h?) who’s

a sophomore? If so, she was conversing (not 5′ away from me as I waited for JM) with a neighbor of hers and a number of mainland visitors about how she was visiting; said she had a lot of friends here (I took it to mean at Manoa campus, not Hawaii). She mentioned how her team (Texas) did not end up where they wanted (4th I think she said) but that they were looking to do better next year. Didn’t sound at all like she had any intention / inclination to transfer.

    big shark”

back in 1957, was out fishing (trolling) with my Dad when we felt a “bump” which shook the boat – we thought it was a log – but, there it was in all its glory, a Tiger as long as the boat – he kept bumping into us for a while and left

my Dad’s boat was 23′ long.

  268. BigHiloFan2 January 14, 2012 7:06 am

a Tiger 23′ long? bumpin into your boat several times? and I was thinking ah getting back my kayak from my bro and going fishing cuz da prices stay up. 😀

k AHouse, you changed my mind. 😆

  269. d1shima January 14, 2012 7:14 am

    BHF2,

Or maybe da bugga is now 60 yrs old and 35 feet (oo) !

  271. BigHiloFan2 January 14, 2012 7:23 am

wow just wen figgah out yestaday was “Friday da 13” nobody said anything so all’s good den

  274. Manoa2 January 14, 2012 7:49 am

From the Florida Times Union on Kaumeyer–

Tucker, the Jags DC had been interviewing for other jobs, but he has been hired back by the new head coach. Malarkey the new HC is now interviewing the defensive coaches over the weekend– some had been looking for jobs.

But, the article says Kaumeyer was hired as Hawaii’s defensive coordinator–and there is a quote from Kaumeyer in which Kaumeyer says it is a good opportunity for him to get back to being a coordinator again.

  275. krump1_AKA_protector January 14, 2012 8:09 am

    A-House, BigHiloFan2 and others,

As a teenager, I saw a 12-foot Tiger shark up close and personal and it kept me out of the ocean for at least 10 years. Awhile after that, I saw the first Jaws movie and I became a landlubber for life.

  276. krump1_AKA_protector January 14, 2012 8:16 am

Getting excited about what Coach Kaumeyer might be able to do; seems like he could be an impact-making coach that can keep the team in the game until the Offense is fine-tuned.

  277. Bugaz January 14, 2012 8:43 am

    Pssstt shhhhh

  278. Da Punchbowl Kid January 14, 2012 8:43 am

    Hey krump –

Went fishing with my brother one year back in the 70’s. We were trolling inter-island and stopped at the little pineapple harbor on Lanai to refuel and re-ice. On the dock was a 14″ female tiger shark someone had caught. Massive! On the way over we encountered a whale shark on Penguin Banks. Talk about making the boat look small! Tht’s an enduring memory.

  279. Bugaz January 14, 2012 8:46 am

That wasn’t a whale shark! That was my mother! Oops… Hurry up NFL I’m board

  280. Buffoman January 14, 2012 8:48 am

Krump #278, now that’s funny! Such honest testimony. I think many who saw Jaws made plans to play pac man instead of going swimming back in da day. Speaking of back in the day, BIK must be one older guy like me. To describe the surfboard with “Skegs” is our time old school. Da youngins call them “fins”. I once said “skeg” to a young fella and he did not know what I was talkin about.

  281. Bugaz January 14, 2012 8:51 am

Hawaiian on da boat too colonized da mind, das was his or family aumakua letting him know I still watching over you. Too pilau da mout towards aumakua. You know how much damage dat bugga coulda done. Das right should have done a Tebow!

  282. Bugaz January 14, 2012 8:53 am

I still young and I say skegs…I am young still…right! Hahaha

  283. PolyMom January 14, 2012 9:12 am

Okay scary shark talk. LOL! That was one big buggah!

With all the rumors flying, I googled the Jacksonville Jaguars page and found only two blogs for fans – the main one being the “Big Cat” one.

Checked and found the story refrred by Manoa2 in #277 dated today: “Hawaii’s head-coaching job went to Norm Chow, who hired former Jaguars assistant defensive backs coach Thom Kaumeyer as his defensive coordinator.

“It’s a great opportunity to coordinate again,” Kaumeyer said.”

Kaumeyer was a defensive coordinator at San Diego State and Tulane before coaching for the Jaguars.”

I could not find Jaguarblog which may or may not mean anything – Google isn’t perfect!

I would imagine that we should take Coach Kaumeyer at his word and discount the gossip between fans
