Leilehua lineman chooses Warriors
Leilehua High lineman Netane Muti told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he has made an oral commitment to play for the Warriors. Here’s the skinny:
> The basics: Muti is 6 feet 4 and 280 pounds. And he’s not done growing. He’s a senior whose 17th birthday is in March.
> Projection: Muti can play on both sides of the line, but he is expected to compete at d-tackle for the Warriors.
> Hidden gem: Muti was born in Tonga, and didn’t play organized football until two years ago following a growth spurt. He actually gained buzz a week ago when Mililani coaches raved about his skills following a scrimmage between the Central Oahu teams.
> H-2 pipeline: Muti joins Mililani quarterback McKenzie Milton and wideout Kalakaua Timoteo as 2016 UH commits.
> The write-up: Star-Advertiser story

Offensive linemen Arona Amosa and Eperone Moananu lead the singing in this video: Hawaii’s got talent

At the end of Saturday’s practice, the offensive and defensive linemen competed to catch a sky punt (launched from the JUGS machine). Nose tackle Kory Rasmussen made the catch, meaning the offense had to run a lap.

Quite possibly, UH is the only college football team with linebackers of Filipino and Cuban ancestry:

Shane Austin threw 101 TD’s in 18 regular season Arena Football League games this year (Cleveland Gladiators franchise record) .
ST,
Thanks for the info on Beaune.
Any info on why Packer, Clements, and Tago didn’t any reps yesterday (even though they were all suited up)?
2nd consecutive day no access via “internet” – must go through “chrome”
is it our computer or the internet?
will the latest commit have a “wandering eye” like the WR later?
his words does indicate he’ll remain stead fast in his commitment – yet, things change daily
Kalakaua:
They have nagging injuries. They were in the “pit” with Beemer yesterday.
A-House
I’m not having access problems with my cell or laptop. Since I live across the street from you, unless Sasaki is stealing your WiFi, you should be OK.
Good morning everyone!
Welcome to the future Warriors, Netane Muti!
RE: #10
A-House — if Chrome works for you, then it is not the internet.
I started to use Chrome for certain things because it has its own built-in “Flash” supposedly safer than the now black-listed Flash player. Is your problem that certain photos, movies, animations, and games do not automatically appear except in Chrome?
Rainy and muggy morning in Manoa. Staying in the dorms during camp makes a difference for the team.
Regarding this latest UH commit: – Chad Kauhaahaa is on the prowl, no doubt.
June Jones was at the Mililani-St. Louis scrimmage last night. I’m sure he has some thoughts on what he saw. All I know is that Milton is a playmaker. He reminds me of Johnny Manziel. He just executes and makes play after play. It is exciting times for UH.
ST,
Thanks for the info on the “pit”.
BTW, you thinking about UH’s other early verbal commit and Mililani HS WR Timoteo……as in “Kalakaua”?
Or maybe he was thinking about Kalakaua, as in the King, the Street, the Gym, the Basketball Club?
Kapakahi, Good thing he didn’t mistake you for Keeaumoku.
Saw Mckenzie Milton vs Saints. He is magical!!
York got another great team. That defense pretty aggresive
Saints missing something.Defense is
a little better than last yr.
Offensively can’t figure out if they wanna
play up tempo cause if they are its a little
slow for my liking.Me thinks they should
huddle and work on that run game.
Looks like we got an under the radar guy. Looks like a RS candidate since he is so young and still growing. Could end up being a beast, 6’5 325lbs.
8.
Thank you for that stat.
I wonder if Lebron ever went to a Gladiators game.
Who would have ever guessed that Austin would have more success as a professional football player than Colt Brennan.
20.
Cool.
Line breaks and everything.
Did you know there was a Pulitzer Prize nominee in poetry who worked at the UH English department?
If
you look
at the acknowledgments section
of any
Lois-Ann Yamanaka
book
you’ll see her
name.
ST: #13
neva thought of that, but would Sasaki-san really do that?
Guess we need to contact Hawaiian Tel and get this corrected!
SteveM: #15
nope, we could not get the Warrior Beat via the “explorer” – the circle would go round and round on the “icon”
this “locked” the rest of the computer – tried to by-pass the blog, but computer just “froze” on us
Maybe June scouting who his players will be
when he returns as UH coach 🙂
