Warriors – Come out to play-ay! Geevum!

  4. Arcumfortis October 16, 2015 10:54 am

Well I am fatigued with watching a losing team, uninspired and disappointed by coach Chow, tired of the chronic excuses and promises to “do better” etc. But I also hope for a win tomorrow, would still be delighted if coach Chow can produce a winning team and find success as a head coach. I am not holding my breath for a positive outcome tomorrow but don’t think it is impossible or even improbable. Winning is a habit and I wish our team could begin practicing this habit. I have my Hawaii Bowl tickets and have no interest in watching any other team but ours. I really thought we had a chance to be there this year. We still do, but if we lose the game tomorrow that outcome becomes very very improbable. Come on Norm, I don’t want to be selling my great Hawaii Bowl tickets for cheap on Craigslist!

  5. Bryson October 16, 2015 10:54 am

Anyone know if the game will be shown at koolau theaters tomorrow and if so what time…

  6. Da Punchbowl Kid October 16, 2015 11:12 am

    Just win!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  7. Shoko October 16, 2015 11:27 am

It’s on ROOT Sports and will be streamed via Campus Insider. So, you can watch on your laptop, or if you have a tablet you can download the Campus Insider app and watch the game that way.

I dunno but maybe the run game needs to kick it up a notch. Can’t be averaging less than 3 yards a carry.

NM ranks 7th and 6th in the nation in sacks and TFLs, respectively.

  8. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 12:56 pm

If is right # LUCKY 7 SHOKO… then our OL will be in big trouble…if cannot pick up blitz…n Max…be re-injured if he not can evade the blitz…if he can perform like first game…all game…we be ok n win…for me..he should rest a game or two…even if Ikaika maybe not the right choice 4 sum here…

Yea coco… yesterday… had a goof podogee laugh here…Hi Ho Silva…PODOGEES ARE EVERYWHERE…our podogee LB julian gener doing good huh ? he he be

  9. z October 16, 2015 1:10 pm

    Go Warriors!!!

  10. Shoko October 16, 2015 1:41 pm

The thing is NM doesn’t care about disguising the blitz. If they show it, it’s a coming. But when you blitz too much that can have adverse affects in stopping the run especially when the d-line is suspect. Nevada put up huge numbers on the ground last weekend compared to the last couple of years. Most I’ve seen in a long time since the Chris Ault years and that was with a Pack o-line that had two injured starters out.

I think Woolsey might be the best fit to attack this Lobo D with a little zone-read. But then again, it’s been a guessing game with coach Chow. If he loses this game, the next two (Nevada and Air Force) will be even tougher to get the W. That would end any chance for a bowl game as he would finish this month with a 2-7 record.

Anyway, Rooting for USU to beat Boise State!!

  11. Pete Jek October 16, 2015 2:46 pm

Yes, at 1PM. Also showing at Koko Marina.

  12. Tanman October 16, 2015 3:25 pm

Let’s go Rainbow Warriors!!! One game at a time, one win at a time!!!! Be smart, be aggressive, be physical!!

  13. cocobean October 16, 2015 3:27 pm

Hoping this is the week the team turn things around. This is the game the offense has to be able to dictate tempo. Opposing defenses have been able to slow our tempo giving them time to make subs and getting in their defensive calls. This offense was designed to prevent the defense from doing this. It’s suppose to be a keep the defense off balance and guessing offense. I think the offense can accomplish this if everyone does what they’re suppose to do and do it well.

  14. Old School Dave October 16, 2015 3:34 pm

What’s up with DE Luke Shawley? Hope he can get back on the field, soon. In the meantime, go get em, Zeno!

  15. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 3:34 pm

I know that if the TEAM plays up to its potential… like they did against Colorado n UC Davies…we win… no doubt in my mind…for me it all hinges on the QB play…
    Healthy knees…should do the job…

However the last 3 games, he has been hurt, n not practice, just one day only taking reps b-4 boarding a plane…is not going to do it…just saying…

Hope above all hope he is healthy n proves me wrong…but past 3 road games speaks volumes on what me say… as no o-fence…RUN…RUN…PASS…PUNT…
    Predictability assures de-feet… ‘vovo’…

  16. Shoko October 16, 2015 3:43 pm

I can’t remember when the MW had four teams in the top 25 total defense in the country….BSU, USU, AF and SDSU.

Clune doing a great job since taking the DC at USU.

  17. Shoko October 16, 2015 3:52 pm

    Donkey offense is imploding.

  18. H-Man October 16, 2015 3:59 pm

Boise St – Utah St game; end of 1st quarter; Utah St 17 – Boise St 3. Oh Boy, Utah St now 24 pts. beginning of 2nd qtr,

  19. Willie October 16, 2015 4:01 pm

Well only about one quarter into the game and Utah State is dominating Boise State just like Boise did to Hawaii. But lot of time left. The did feature Clune as the USU DC.

  20. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 4:04 pm

Is kinda funny really… cuz when we beat BYU 59-28… n ty detmer was his QB.. N HE WAS IN THE BOOTH…calling the plays…they threw many passes… but me thinks he had 3 or 4 pics…was more like…PASS…PASS… RUN…PUNT FOR BYU then…

  21. seewhy October 16, 2015 4:14 pm

Remember the Utah State team that barely beat FCS Southern Utah? Yeah their leading Boise State 24 -3 in the 2nd…

  22. ponojr October 16, 2015 4:18 pm

Why is it that when our WR’s catch the ball, they’re always smothered by the D? I remember when JJ was running the show, the WR, especially the slots were catching the ball in open space. I miss those days. Is it a byproduct of the RNS that WR are so open, or are the current WR just not that good?

  23. Come on, Man! October 16, 2015 4:48 pm

” Is it a byproduct of the RNS that WR are so open, or are the current WR just not that good?”

run and shoot requires a lot of on the fly reading of the defense by both the quarterback and receivers, and they both need to be on the same page. schematically, maybe r&s tends to get receivers more open, or maybe the current wide receivers just aren’t good (although it’s not like june jones led teams had 4 and 5 star recruits coming to play with 5 star quarterbacks).

the most likely answer to this question is that the receivers are very poorly coached and the offense is a train wreck, schematically.

  24. z October 16, 2015 4:50 pm

    Boise going down.

  25. Shoko October 16, 2015 5:03 pm

Can’t expect to wins games when you turnover the ball 5 times. Doesn’t matter who you are. I would be surprised of a comeback.

This game is turning into a comedy fest!

  26. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 5:04 pm

If USU can score 3 more times 2nd half.. be a nice score…

SHOKO must be getting very excited… he he he

  27. H-Man October 16, 2015 5:06 pm

7 turnovers !!! Boise St has turned it over 7 times. Utah State leads 45-10. I just love it. I am hoping Utah State tacks on 31 points more in the 2nd half. Need to take Boise St down a couple of notches.

  28. Shoko October 16, 2015 5:07 pm

Meh, time to change channels and watch the Fresno State – UNLV game.

  29. Inyoface October 16, 2015 5:08 pm

Everything that could go right for Utah state has gone right. Amazing

  30. Makai October 16, 2015 5:56 pm

Isn’t sad programs like Utah St. has surpassed us in college football?

  31. Ipu Man October 16, 2015 6:23 pm

    UH Sucks

  33. Come on, Man! October 16, 2015 6:37 pm

“Isn’t sad programs like Utah St. has surpassed us in college football?”

Utah state has surpassed UH a long time ago, bro.

  34. oneseason October 16, 2015 6:47 pm

Wow. Who would have thought we lucked out playing Boise State this year.

  35. Willie October 16, 2015 6:58 pm

UH is extremely fortunate not to play Utah State this year, it would have been quite embarrassing. USU just laid a double up licking on Boise State 52-26. Yeah USU was home and not on the blue smurf turf, but still total domination.

Also showing is UNLV at Fresno State. 4th time I have seen the Rebels play and looks like they continue to improve so far. They have a first time college coach, but the guy ran one of the top high school teams in the nation in Bishop Gorman. Even he had a leg up on Chow with head coaching experience. From my observation all of the Hawaii fans are going to see a tough opponent, think UNLV will be favored.

  36. oneseason October 16, 2015 7:16 pm

Fresno State is looking more than a little formidable also.

  37. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 7:44 pm

    This is kinda sports…. i guess…

  38. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 7:46 pm

If we go down tomorrow big…everyone we face will be favored..

Link above….watch the end in slow-mo…

  39. Tempmanoa October 16, 2015 8:18 pm

Watched four MW teams tonight– Boise, Utah State, Fresno, and San Jose State, and after watching normal teams like these you realize how many problems we have before we can get to their level.

  40. locomoco October 16, 2015 11:04 pm

Chowball, chasing championships, and “it’s just one game” are driving me absolutely crazy.
End this experiment … end this nightmare before it’s too late.

  41. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 11:27 pm

By the time we are find our problems n fix it to GET TO their level…they be on another level…well we wait 2 more years…when we get a new coach…

  42. st. anthony trojan October 16, 2015 11:31 pm

Not to fret ‘locomoco’… there are trick plays…n starting line up changes…n a dude named Ewaliko…after 2 years…they not know where to play him…one of the fastest dudes on the team…n a tight end…going play safety…experiment is right word u use…5 years of experiment… make ready for new coach…

    Thanks for doing this WarriorNY:
    UH 42
    NM 21
    Go Warriors!!

  46. oneseason October 17, 2015 5:58 am

I think it was Bobby Curran who said this week that New Mexico is the first team that UH will have a physical advantage. And then the caveats came about the triple-option, …
This game looks like a fork in the road for Chow. A win puts him on a path to maybe 7 wins – 6 losses and bowl eligibility. A loss puts him on a path to maybe 3 wins – 10 losses.
    Let’s go Rainbow Warrior coaching!

  47. 3-Prong October 17, 2015 7:21 am

Like Jimmy V said. “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up”. The team hasn’t. I’m talkin to the “Negative Nancy Fans” ot there…hehe

    Let’s Go Bows!!!!!

  48. DaMenehune October 17, 2015 7:28 am

WarriorNY UH 14 them 28 Thanks

  49. papajoe2 October 17, 2015 7:48 am

Besides losing, does this team have and identity? I’m talking about being a running team? A passing team? Can’t run on us? Can’t pass on us? I think we are poor in all phases. While this team’s punting is not too bad, at least last year we had an unusual punt team. The numbers prove that we have nothing this year. It’s already a long year, but their is always hope.

  50. Shoko October 17, 2015 7:53 am

If Memphis can hold on they’re going to make a big jump, past Toledo, in the polls and quite possibly make it to an access bowl.
