Letuli won’t play against LaTech
Head coach Greg McMackin said right tackle Laupepa Letuli will not make the upcoming trip because of a knee injury suffered during weight-training Wednesday. McMackin said it is hoped Letuli will be back for the Oct. 10 game against Fresno State.
Adrian Thomas will start at right tackle, McMackin said, and Kainoa LaCount will be part of the rotation.

After evaluating the roster, it was decided that freshman linebacker George Daily-Lyles will make the trip for Wednesday’s game against Louisiana Tech. Yesterday, Daily-Lyles said he would redshirt this season. Today, it was decided that Daily-Lyles would serve as a replacement for linebacker/nickelback Aaron Brown, who is out indefinitely because of an injury to his right hamstring.
* * * * *
Brown’s troublesome right hamstring is an ongoing setback for the Warriors’ banged-up defense.McMackin said Brown won’t play in Wednesday’s road game against Louisiana Tech.
The silver-lining news is that Brown, should the injury persist, would be a candidate for a medical hardship. The JC transfer has not used a redshirt year. What’s more, for now, he meets the criterium of not having played in more than three games in the first six weeks.
If Brown does end up needing a medical hardship, he would have the double benefit of having two more seasons of eligibility while having accumulated three games of Division I game experience. The Warriors have several prominent transfers who are redshirting this year. If they can get by this year, next season they will add several players with Division I experience to the competition on defense. The future, indeed, looks brighter.

Mason Kuo has resigned as a UH men’s volleyball assistant coach. He and his wife and their daughter are moving to Hilo. A replacement will be announced in the next month.
first for the first time?
Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!
Wow #2. That’s a first
Oops #3. I’ll take it anyway. Good morning everyone!
So in theory Aaron Brown could be in Manoa for 4 years if he takes a medical hardship this season and three seasons to play two if he should redshirt for whatever reason after this season?
Good morning Tsaikos.
good morning cuz 2.
gotta wait for al or D1 on dat one. of course, we could ask Clapp. 😀
have a great day everybody!
Warriors, REPRESENT!
gotta go, hi ho hi ho.

HEAL!!
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
Last night while walking down the ramp to watch the Women’s VBall game, I saw an advertisement on one of the overhead beams. All I have to say is “Whoa”
(repost from yesterday)
I usually don’t like asking for stuff from the Tsaikos but this is something that is important to me. On October 18, the Susan G Komen foundation is holding the Hawaii Race for the Cure. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and she usually participates in this walk but will be on a trip. I will be taking her place and joining the HawaiiMoms team for the 5K walk. If anyone wants to join me and the Moms, please join their team. If not, I humbly ask that you make any donation. Below is the link to make donations. Thank you.

Happy Aloha Friday to everyone in the Tsaiko Village! Hope everyone has a good weekend.
I would not hold Aaron out this year unless he remains injured. This can be a very good Warriors team, and he can make a big contribution.
Stretch,
garanz i’ll be at da FSU TGate. now bradda, Pride stepped up da next to da last time for his cause. 😀
i’m da kinda guy dat needs a lil incuragement. gave you a hint yestaday dat could increase yor largesse by $25. all yu gotta do is “show up” at da TGate. 😆 44 large, no? 😆
have a nice day!
Howzit, Tsai-ko ohana!
Stretch, da’ mamaz are excited that you’ve joined our team to “represent’! C rM will be joining us since he now will not be out of place, hahaha…
We would LOVE if any other Tsai-kos dare to join us!!! Let’s make it an official “Dark Pink Side” event! Awesome cause!!
BTW, happy belated birthday to hiflyer!
Keep up the good work and good luck with your site – are you having fun with it? It’s interesting and well worth the time to visit.
Big C – I noticed that your boss joined the team, definately looking forward to it.
met the brown family up in WA at one of the parties. really nice couple. his dad was amazed by the support that Hawaii people give. i could also tell where aaron got his athletic genes from, as his dad still looked like he could suit up. he said he played in the big-10 and couldn’t wait for UH to play Wisconsin this year. he’d be cheering for the Warriors of course.
stretch….going for the bolohead benchmark.
stretch….okay, i’ll bite.
what banner?
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Sorry to hear about Aaron Brown’s injury. As the Aunty on Kaua’i says, ‘HEAL’.
HiFlyer,
Call me when you get up.
Stretch: Haha..you funny…..
al – if I could post a picture here, I would BUT I don’t think ST would appreciate it.
aloha Tsaikos,
have a great friday, and a great weekend…wednesday afternoon game, now THAT is something different. see if Lou Holtz has any love for us….he was the same coach that recruited John Ching, Shawn’s brother……right? injuries sidelined John during his college years……we’ll see.
whew, leaving the burbs and going into the ‘traffic zone’ from the West Side, haha. normally, we’re in the office by 615 am, but took a break today because of a late meeting last night.
a hui hou…………………….
I have one thing to say about the injuries……..ARGGGGH!!!, is that how you spell it???
o.k.,o.k.,…..I lied, fingers crossed for everyone to heal fast!!!!
Good morning Tsaikos…
Geez, Mrs. C is here again. That’s twice in 2 days…what’s going on??? LMAO
Too bad about the injuries, although as ST said, it could be a blessing in disguise. But we are thin on D so I don’t know if I’d hold out Aaron for the entire season unless I had to.
I wonder why there are so many ankle sprains with UH players. Could it be taping issues? shoes? Hmmmm…just curious.
Good morning Tsai-kos! Happy Friday!
Congrats to the Wahine on the win last night. Start of the “uno, dos, adios” portion of the season, aka the WAC.
Not to nitpick cuz she one of the best servers, but I thought I saw Aneli toss the ball out instead of up on several of her serves. On one of them she came real close to foot-faulting. I think that one went long anyways. Do they still get redo’s, like Yuval was famous for?
Let’s see now?, McNabb and the starting qb for Seattle out with cracked ribs….if we were cannibles, it sounds like something “ono” to eat….bwaaahahaha!!!
I agree with ‘lava’ on # 13 & hope Aaron doesn’t have to be “permanently” sidelined for the rest of the year. He’s been very effective when on the field; it would be a shame not to have him available for the stretch run. But Que sera sera, I guess.
some folks have all the luck……….

I believe you are referring to Jason Ching, Shawn’s brother. Maybe John Ching is a long lost brother that they don’t know exists yet. Aloha Friday.
Wait…. Did I clarify which hair I would shave??!!?? HAHAHAHAHA
mctruck ~ Then you’d have to change your nick!
When I got to Vegas, we felt lucky when da Hawaiian dat was in charge of da rental car place upgraded my car to a luxury model. At the same time he upgraded A-joe’s to a full size one. (Of couse dat nevah stopped Rob25 from calling mines one Mafia car ’cause was jet black).
Good morning my Tsaiko villagers! Still keeping Vegas time. Hard to re-adjust da sundial on da ceded lands.

Kekoa, yeah, but you forget … I know where you liiiiiiive. 😆
Aww, dangit, the coding didn’t come out right. I’ve been away too long! Sorry about that. 😆
(Jesse)James: you’ve got mail!!!!!
Oh, hi, Mr. A-House! Loooong time no see! *waving* I have missed the A-Houses. Please tell Mrs. A I said hi! 🙂
Stretch,
If you take up BHF2’s challenge & come to the T-Gate in a bra (color of your choice), you can do the woman’s shave ~ armpits, legs, bikini wax ~ bwahahahahaha
Oh, and of course, aloha kakahiaka to everyone else on the blog today. As I said earlier, I’ve been away far too long. Have missed this place. *bounces on the clubhouse beds a few times just for the heck of it*
And good morning, ST!
ST,
Is the team practicing tomorrow morning at 7?
I’d like to check it out before they leave to Ruston.
ST ~ Gooood morning! Was there practice today? Did you go? I missed it due to injury. Diagnosis: sprained ankle. No high jumps for me.
If anyone wants to watch the UH Wahine jump to the net for a kill against Idaho, let me know. I have at least two (‘elua), maybe 3, tickets for Saturday night’s game. (Mahalo, Stretch!)
A-House…replied to your mail. Wednesday should be okay.
Stretch, #39…OMG, just spit out my coffee…..I never know you had hair….LMAO
Slugger, #53, ….thanks for that visual, how can I eat lunch now….LMAO
Es…you’ve been away so long we almost had to retire your phrase…”Esme and whooooshhhh”…..MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….we missed you too.
Anyone see this story of the Arkansas High School player who refused to score a TD. Nice story. Hey, UH is known as a place where second chance players have made it and gone on to bigger and better things (i.e. NFL).

Belated Happy Birthday to hiflyer!
Finally done with today’s errands. The VA DMV site said that the average wait time for the Arlington location was 14 minutes. My wait time? 2 hours.
Right.
morning tsaiko country and warriors at heart. have a happy aloha friday eh d1 wea da aloha friday tribute.
congrats to the wahines on their win last night. super job as usual.
same thoughts as jj regarding all this high ankle problems. was definately worried at the UNLV game cause a lot of cut blocking happening. also what is the scoop on mana lolotai? he was highly regarded inside lb at the beginning of the season and was to replace brashton.
starting to humid up so high tail it to some ac establishment.
well got some more list stuff so be checking in and out. good aloha friday again, place nice and be good to each other.
JJ, awww, thanks, I’m never far away from the WB, actually, in my heart or in cyberspace … only a click or two! … Plus, Big C fills me in when things get really way outta hand over here. 😆
Es…yeah, haven’t been able to get over to your side to cause trouble for a while either…BWAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHA
Kekoa,
let’s see????…howz about, “Da Kar?”
but, only if was fo-reel.
Forgot to mention earlier…..Aloha Friday gangeeez, have a enjoyable and safe weekend.
a=an, aeeeesooos!!
(J)J,
Nice piece about the AR player. If he goes to Arkansas State, he’ll might be coached by Corey Batoon.
Got my list of things to do today, too. TTYL
Esme (Howareya?) & out ….
Man, I was REAL exhausted after the game last night, but good to see Cascioppo getting to start in conference play not sure how much time she would have seen had Kanani not been under the weather, but for the most part, I think she did ok other than a few mental things and Forsythe did nicely in the 3rd set.
Still.. Kind of sloppy play at times. BSU had nothing to lose in front of the largest crowd they’ll see all year so they looked better than a team that is 0-11. Granted not having a starter in the lineup and starting two players that aren’t usually starters (Lee and Cascioppo) effected the “fluidity” of how they started.
NEXT!!!
UH Rainbowtique got a new black shirt.
It’s one of those that only the team and staff have been previously exclusive to.
It says “HAWAII” on the front above a graphic of a football. Only in black right now.
Also got a NICE black UA track jacket with “football” embroidered on the sleeve and a nice “HAWAII” graphic embroidered on the back… 85.00 freakin’ dollars though… (sighs) 🙁 Had to pass on it last night… 🙁
Hiya Tsaikos!
We had a great time at Genji’s last week w/ some of the tsaikos. Thanks to M/M Sailorblue for chillin all nite w/ us in our little booth 🙂
Aunty Liz – the hubs and Mr.SailorBlue both had the nabeyaki udon. Very onolicious! Next time I’m having that fo’ sho!
And belated happy bday to hiflyer!
A hui hou..
mctruck ~ Nah…no change da nick. Wouldn’t be da original.
If UH plays SMU, how close to their stadium are you? Maybe we could rent one Dude Ranch so all us guys could stay inside one fo reel kine bunkhouse!
Can you imagine da entire Tsaiko Posse led by Mrs. A-House riding to da game on horseback?! I have a strong visual of her on top one ole gray mare twirling her lariat! Bwhahahaha!
Happy Aloha Festivals’ Friday, Tsaikos! Great to hear the future does look bright for our Warriors. I hope we BRING it to Ruston…the last one there was a little too close.
Lil Mermaid ~ Come out to da Wessai Chaptah for da game on Wed. At Nancy’s Kitchen dey feature all kine animal parts like ‘Tripe Stew’ and Oxtail Soup. Their Hawaiian plate is also very tasty. Some like their pork adobo, but da bugga was movin’ east/west on my plate da last time I wen order ’em! Nah, nah…j/k!

Happy Birthday Mr. Fonoti.
Happy Birthday BigWave96744.
He’s usually the one posting notices about everyone else’s birthday…who tipped off his?
Kekoa – thanx for the invite. I doubt we can make it on Wednesday. Our babysitter (aka Papa) works ’til 5pm. Will the game be on espn or can we watch a replay on K5 the following day?
Happy Bday BigWave96744!!
Lil Mermaid- AWRITE! Glad you were able to get Tsai-ko-ized at Genji! The N-udon is my ultimate Warrior Game comfort food. Luckily we were able to order it at 1:30AM in Las Vegas after the game!!!
Wow- good thing I didn’t read ST’s latest tweet before lunch…. yuck!
MR. FONOTI- HAUOLI LAHANAU!!!
BigWave96744- HAUOLI LAHANAU to you too!

Happy Birthday BigWave96744
CRW:
Glad to hear that your trek to the East Coast was uneventful and that you are settling in for the long haul. 2 and a half-days – that’s moving out! Took me 4 days from Fort Knox, KY to LA in 1968.
again, from the A-House family, an honor to meet you and look forward to seeing you again in the near future!
hey! belated happy Birfday to High Flyer.
Happy Birday to BIGWAVE96744.
Have a great one, guys!!
Stretch,
I made a contribution. Personally, I think you should go with the “pit bull mullet” that Cory Paredes showed off on Chawan Cut’s news compilation last night. Guarantee you reach your $2000 goal if you do that.
Hi, all!
Lil Mermaid ~
Understand your situation. Many others are trapped at their jobs that day. I do believe you can catch it on ESPN. I’m not sure about K5.
Happy birthday Bigwave!!! Whoo-hoo!!!
Matt – thanks for the donation!! $755 more and I’ll think about the pitbull mullet. Not sure if it would work since my hair is not long enough in the back.
Kekoa . . .
Your #71 — Tsai-kos on horseback.
I think the ASPCA would have an absolute fit with all the broken horses.
Talk about brokeback stituations in Texas!
bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
I wonder if Koa-Mahu will be joining the group??!!??
Happy Birthday Bigwave and Fetaiagogo Fonoti.
A mohawk that runs from ear to ear would be an interesting look on Stretch.
BTW, where is Koa-mahu???? Haven’t seen him/her around for a while….
Stretch . . .
I do not think it has to be in Texas for KM.
I hope Fonoti didn’t react like this guy after getting the Gatorage bath.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4504153
Oh yeah, and a Happy Birthday to Bigwave and John Fonoti
Spam commercials have been playing recently. The newest one shows a classroom of eggs with the teacher taking roll. “Egg.” “Here.” “Egg.” “Here.” “Egg.” “Here.” All done while the eggs are falling asleep and looking completely bored.
Finally, a can of Spam bursts through the door. HA!
I guess I know what I am having for dinner, now.
Happy birthday to Fonoti, too!!!
(repost of #90 – I didn’t want Matt to think I wanted $755 more from him)
Matt – thanks for the donation!!
$755 more and I’ll think about the pitbull mullet. Not sure if it would work since my hair is not long enough in the back.
wafan ~ Don’t start with da brokeback jokes, Koa Mahu is very sensitive and jealous of sharing J(J). Plus – you know the mother hens are so protective of their brood.
19.2# baby born in Indonesia. Talk about pain!
He is not the biggest baby born, though. In 1879, a US baby weighed 22.5#. That would definitely hurt!
Happy Birthday to Big Wave!
I bet both of your sons, ‘lil wave & nuwave are eagerly awaiting to help you eat da bertday cake!
Kekoa . . .
My first reference was to the broken backs of the horses; hence the reference to the ASPCA. I guess, swayback would have been a better term.
But, I did notice (J)J did express interest in knowing where KM has been. I wonder why he wants to know.
Hmmmmmmm.
Tom Mui — the ice cream bar is open 1200-2130 daily. Ice cream and sherbert served in cones or bowls w/candies. Sometimes softee dispenser and chocolate fountain for coating cakes and fruit sticks.

[FRIDAY – DAY 5 of 11. Port of Pichilingue/La Paz in the Sea of Cortez
24.25 N, 110.33W 1400 MDT]
Good day everyone, especially fellow Tsai-ko Cruisers!
Docked at Pichilingue Harbor, which is on the Baja California peninsula on the Sea of Cortez. Short stay today before proceeding to Mazatlan at 1600 MDT.
The harbor is beautiful, with our pier area cut out from the hillside. The pier is new and the guest facility ashore (where you wait for buses/taxi’s) is modern. Peaches checked out the restroom and gave it a passing grade 🙂 We did not bus into La Paz.
Today’s snapshot of shipboard life: being a port day, there are fewer daytime activities on board ship. Casino opens tonight. Cruise Director staff activities today include a Shuffleboard tournament (yes, there is a shuffleboard layout way up on deck 12 aft somewhere). Golf putting tournament, Basketball Free Throw competition, and 2 trivia contests (no arts & craft today) and a Family Feud game show with passengers. Karaoke is on at 2030 in the main forward lounge and the “Single Traveler’s Informal Get-Together” is at 1830 in the Windjammer piano bar.
Tonight’s professional theater performance is “Circ Pan” by the Jean Anne Ryan Company. High energy acrobatics, dancing and singing.
For the alcoholic beverage crowd the 0800-1100 Happy Hour specials are same as yesterday in the ship’s 11 bars. No NCL-“U ” drinking courses today. But, “Try before you buy” free Vodka tasting at the Dutry Free shop 1830-2030. The Cruise Director’s gang and bar staff is throwing a “Tropical Night” party at 2230 on the pool deck. Much music and dance.
Next port: Mazaltan. ETA 0800 Saturday

Afternoon Tsaikos!
A very Happy Birthday to Mr. Fonoti & BigWave!
Had a wonderful time in Seattle & Vegas. Can’t wait to go back!
Great to meet some of the mainland Tsaikos including Izzy, CRW, BNS + wife & niece, losthawaiian & family, djmitcho.
Always a blast to see & talk story w/wafan, Brew, Tombo, Ronnie & gang, Garret, RainbowCliff, alnbama, Rich & las vegas!
Rich & las vegas: thank you again for all the time spent handling the UNLV tickets, organizing the Kiku Hana/Cici’s events & the UNLV transportation!
expat: just missed seeing you at Qwest
chopsueyboy: looking forward to meeting you
Hello to all the lurkers! Esp Faye Wai (hope your flight home worked out ok), the Pilares clan (you guys are AWESOME!) and the lurker I chatted w/at half time at Qwest Field (thanks for stopping me to say hello).
Speedy recovery wishes to all the banged up Warriors. Good luck in Ruston!
I’ve tried to describe the typical activities on a cruise (except spa, jewelry, duty-free shop, art, and casino promotions. I suppose I’ll share a daily routine we have fallen into after many cruises. Warning–this is not typical of most cruisers (esp. those that are younger, drink, dance, gamble, etc.). 🙂
THURSDAY in Topolobampo
Woke up and crawled out of bed before 0800 (earlier than the usual 0930), made it to the buffet by 0830. Buffet breakfast: made-to-order omelettes, bacon, sausage, etc. Plate of melon, cantaloupe, stewed prunes, banana. Orange juice and coffee. Took pix of the Topolobampo area at stern and bow of ship.
Sat in the forward observation lounge watching the port activities and decided to take a cab in the afternoon. Got time to hit the hot tub and pool so made it to the pool deck by 1030. Departed pool deck to shower and change by 1200 (missing ice cream). Proceeded to the main dining room at stern for lunch at 1230. Stop by the buffet to refill our ice tea & coffee mugs. Back at stateroom by 1400. Take nap.
1500 wake up, gather money and ID from safe and proceed ashore. Arrange taxi tour and went sight-seeing. Return to ship by 1700. Put money away in cabin and head for the buffet again for ice cream. Light snack–small sandwich, sausages, french fries, fruit. Refill mugs. Return to cabin and nap until 1915. Knock on our door–our steward is looking to turn down the cabin (he knows we’re usually out by then). Told him in 30 minutes. Dressed again and returned to fine dining.
5 courses later, we left fine dining at 2045. Was told the show was good so decided to attend the 2130 showing. Returned to room, passing through but skipping the Mexican pool deck party. 2300–I get the munchies and go to the late-night buffet. Picked up goodies (pizza, sausage, fruit, cookies) and brought back to the stateroom for Peaches. I continue writing this. Peaches is doing puzzles. Good night
A cruise in not a non-stop meal! We stop to sleep and nap in between. 😐 But it is a non-stop party if you want it to be–and you don’t have to drive home. Security will wheel chair you to your cabin. I am finally starting to unwind and feel relaxed. It’s been 2 years since my last cruise but it seems like I never left. The ship is a large but familiar place and I’ve missed it.
Since this cruise (Norwegian Sun) originated and will return to San Francisco, a lot of bay area residents are aboard. We’ve met a lot of people from Sacramento to San Jose and down into Fresno State land.
A lot of San Francisco area Chinese cruisers too –we have befriended a small group–they cruise together and have 20-30 cruises each. They tell me the heavy duty mah jong players are actually a Chinese tour group.
When we first met the cruisers and we told them we were from Hawaii, one remarked, “Yes, we could tell by your accent”. 😕 Since we were not speaking pidgin, I am very curious about our accent. These people are San Francisco residents all their lives with very little ties to Hawaii.
Peaches recognized an NCL employee from our previous Panama Canal cruise in 2003. After talking with him, I remembered too. He was a waiter on that cruise and is now an officer and Ass’t Maitre’d in one of speciality restaurants. Our Chinese cruiser friends knew him first–I guess he can spot the long time cruisers.
Today is Internet “Happy Hour” where if I use 20 minutes, I’ll get 10 back, so I’m going for it. Each “download, post and run” session has taken at least 6+ minutes each foray. Used to do it in 3-4 minutes, but this current blogware requires more time–actually waiting for a time-out as the browser waits for the blog overhead and junk served.
OK..enough minutes for now at satellite modem rates. Glad everyone made it home from Vegas and is checking in. Myki & sj-macro are on the east coast and getting ready to board a New England/Canada Fall Foliage cruise on October 3 out of Boston.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY HIFLYER !!!
ummm…. since you put it that way, the deadline just passed one minute ago. hahaha
I think it goes until race (walk) day, Oct 18?? not sure.

A-House #84:
It was an honor to meet you and the rest of the family. The drive is something that I’ll try NOT to do again. Half-way through the second day as I was driving through Tennessee I was starting to get the “Oh can this end already” thoughts.
I was surprised at how well I did on gas mileage. My fuel economy was well north of 40 MPG, so I only had to make one stop during the day to gas up.
I hope to get to see you guys again in the future!
Oh haha, (J)J…very NOT funny. But let me give it some thought. 🙂
Good luck to Mason. Hopefully he has something lined up, (he has a degree in accounting).
Hiya Stretch
I love a man of his word! 😀
We all know your word is good, Stretch. 😀
when you said you’d drop the hair for 2 grand, we believed you. 😀
so it was said, let it be written, so shall it be done. 😀
The goal is good, Stretch. 😀
So is the dog gone hair.
BHF2…the key word is “gone”….mwahahahahahaha
Actually (J)J, we’ll let Stretch have this one. I think there are a few of us who will guarantee a bolo for Stretch.
stretch, happy bolo day
Happy birthday to Fetaiagogo Fonoti and BigWave!!!
Good afternoon!
Waiting for a report to finish running, so have time to blog.
Happy bday to Mr Fonoti and BigWave.
Good luck to Mason Kuo.
ST – your twitter – bad visual!!!
OK, OK, I’m sick at home, kinda grogy, but reading all this stuff about donations to see Stretch “bolo head” makes it very interesting.
How do we go about making a donation?
RGM takes the opening kickoff 35 yds. Scheduled starter for the B.C. offense.
A-House…see #37 above. We want to see Stretch go bolohead so we’re are pushing for the donations…MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA…and it is for a great cause.
Best wishes to Kuo and his family.

Happy Birthday Fetaiagogo Fonoti!

Hope the player who hurled at practice did not have the flu! Would not want to see that virus making the rounds of the team.
Mizzou 12 – Nevada 7 on ESPN
Feature story on Jake Ingram’s love of surfing.
Wow, George Daily-Lyles is not redshirting after all. Considering all of the injuries, I can understand why the coaches want him to play. I hope that he’s not too disappointed in not redshirting–he sure sounded like he was looking forward to saving a year of eligibility.
OK, Stretch, less than $500 to go until $2,000.
BTW, do we get to see with your new hair do?
If Aaron Brown’s injury isn’t serious too serious and he’s able to return with 4 or more games left, the team probably needs him this year. Also, if his injury is not too serious, it might not be a slam dunk to get that medical redshirt year.
Wouldn’t the redshirt season still be available next year should circumstances warrant?
….asking about GDL.
Slugger,
I agree with your hope that the player does not have the flu. All of the road trips (with the climate changes and with the flu being so widespread on the mainland) are worrisome, especially with the next road trip going to the South where so many swine flu cases have been found lately.
Over *35* football players for Florida have had the swine flu lately!
d1shima,
Yes, GDL could still redshirt next year. There aren’t that many players that redshirt after playing a year, though…

Amazing speed on the Florida team
W!Sup Doc,

Characteristically flawless execution of the Veer by De La Salle. 14-14.
Lakeland has a tremendous prospect for a Cornerback….too bad for them he’s plating WR!
heheheh
They setting a record for holding infractions….. 🙄
happy birthday mr. fonoti & mr. bigwave
Ashley Lelie – is he still looking for a job?
He should apply at the Patsies ….
Got this from USA Today:
Due to concern over their potentially depleted receiver corps, the Patriots reportedly tried several free agents on Friday, including former Seahawk Courtney Taylor.
Chris Davis (Titans), Larry Beavers (Panthers), Anthony Armstrong (Dolphins), and Will Franklin (Raiders) were also there. Randy Moss and Wes Welker are both questionable for Week 3. If the Pats sign a receiver on Saturday, it’ll be a bad sign for their top wideouts’ chances of playing Sunday
Why no celebration flag on Mizzou?
Floridians very undisciplined…tough to beat DLS that way.

WarriorMojo: thanks for the Punahou-Iolani game updates.
I’m watching the Missouri/Nevada game on ESPN. Missouri leading 21-13 in the 4th. Nevada fumbled near Missouri’s goal line. Missouri took the ball down the field and scored. 28-13
Man! Mizzou musta done some serious work in the weight room during the off-season. All their guys look HUGE!
watchin the Mizzou Nevada game 2. like Pride said, no put da ball on da carpet. bachi kine, bad!
Our DE’s had better be healthy when we play Nevada to get after Kasper…whatever the QB’s name is.

Nevada must have just started their auction, limited items
but
they do have something that I wish we would do
they sell photos from their games…5 X 7 cost $12.99
sounds like big profits for someone

think of all the revenue generated just from family & fans
of the various men & women teams
Nevada’s game was a toss up until they fumbled instead of scoring. Now, the game belongs to Missouri.
Cleveland’s Defensive Coordinator praised David Veikune and Kaluka Maiava.
Ralph,
Mizzou too big, too fast…
Darn. The WAC will take it in the shorts against the BCS, again.
I would have liked for Nevada to have won today to get respect for the WAC. La Tech, Nevada and Fresno State, all have had big nonconference games and all were lost.
Congrats (Red) Raiders! (That’s what they were when I was there!)

The WAC can’t get respect if they don’t win. Nevada isn’t that bad, except for their defensive secondary.
Bravo ‘Raiders!!!
MadDog,
I like that!
Bad news about Letuli…I hope that he’s healthy for Fresno State. Good thing there is a half-bye week after the La Tech game to let the Warriors heal.
I think the Warriors will be able pass against Nevada. I just hope our defense will be able to slow their offense.
Congratulations to azngamer808 on his promotion!!!
Thanks, chopsueyboy . . . is that at yahoo?
Next guy(s) gotta step up!
Imua!
Nevada ties it up!
Happy Birthday to Mr. Fonoti and to BigWave!
Including tonight’s Mizzou-Nevada game, the WAC has played 10 BCS opponents so far in non-conference action and has only mustered two wins from them. We have one of those victories. Boise over Oregon was the other.
Entering this weekend’s action the conference as a whole only has four more matchups against the BCS (Fresno @ Cincy and @ Illinois, NMSU @ Ohio State, UH vs. Wisky).
Unfortunately, the odds are up there that the conference could drop the remaining bouts against the BCS. 2-12 against the BCS would not help the WAC at all.
SteveM, mahalo for your trip reports. : )

According to the ESPN commentator, Mizzou got away with a big offensive pass interference call when they went up 28-13. If so, tough break for Nevada, though the momentum wasn’t going their way at all after the fumble and the huge running plays.
Clarification: Mizzou got away with a big _missed_ call that should’ve backed ’em up 15 yards. Something about the ball being called thrown behind the line of scrimmage when it actually went beyond it before it was caught.
okay okay i got da visuals, Doc.
gang, if we raise Stretch’s goal to $3K and make it,
we get a 2fur1 deal.
WassupDoc said she’d go bolo 2. 😆
I’m bringing my checkbook to the 10/10 Tgate and putting $50 where my mouth is.
By that time, Nevada believed they couldn’t win anyway. Missouri kept up the pressure. They did not go with conservative, not to lose plays. Missouri didn’t give Nevada the opportunity to believe they had a chance.
saw that kind of game calling at UNLV too.
Warriors gotta know that they gotta go the extra 30% because the game not gonna be called fair. Life is not fair.
Don’t expect to get the break. Play like you’re not gonna get the break.
Go Warriors! Beat La Tech!
Wow oh Wow, congratulations Nicky on your promotion!!!

“…Missouri kept up the pressure. They did not go with conservative, not to lose plays. Missouri didn’t give Nevada the opportunity to believe they had a chance.”
Sound familiar? Don’t you let up, coaches. Don’t let up. You’re gonna hit that wall in the 4th against La Tech. Count on it, like you can count on the sun is gonna rise tomorrow. Its all on you, coaches. Keep the Warriors heads in the vision. Victory. Victory. Victory.

About 20 years ago I did a walk-a-thon. I offered to shave my beard off if I was able to raise over $500. The kids got the word out at school.
Money raised in two days. Easy!
If you offer to shave your head at school you could raise a whole lot for your cancer walk. It will also raise their awareness.
Is Travis LaBoy on an NFL roster?
You’ll never see me shave my head. Sorry, I cross the line at that. Although, I tried to get our math team coach in high school to do that. ʻIolani’s coach used to shave his head if anyone averaged a perfect score for the season; we convinced our coach to dye her hair every time one of us got a perfect score at a meet.
So, what else do you think I could do? 🙂

It has to be something bordering on outlandish or something the kids think you really cherish (your hair is a good example). Gotta have some fun with it!

Nope. Just a huge typo.
Sorry, Jason!
K-State starts fall baseball practice this Sunday. Anything happening at UH Manoa. How many of the recruits actually made it to campus, i read a couple signed with mlb. UH media and Trap needs to put out some bulletins, get people interested in the baseball program, when spring season starts the fan base will have a clue as to who is on the team and what to expect.

Before I head off to beddy-bye, let me repeat two fund-raising offers.
First, is there any interest here on planning a two-part fund-raiser – one for people who live here and are able to take part and the other for people who don’t and/or can’t – to send the some of the Pep Band and some of the cheer-leading squad to the San Jose State game on November 14? If you’d like to learn more, please send an e-mail to swood at hoku dot com. If half a dozen or so people respond by Wednesday evening, September 30, then I’ll draft an e-mail & send it out to everyone on the current list as to what it would entail.
If it’s a “yes” from you folks, then the next step is to consult with Na Koa, the the music department, and the Athletic Department and Manoa administrators. I really don’t want to deal with them without making sure that there’s enough support from this group. No sense in raising their hopes.
Second, I offered to raise more money for Stretch’s fund-raising drive – and don’t forget that men can get breast cancer, too – by offering to Do The Bulla if this group raises at least $3,000. Deadline: Sunday, October 18, at 8 am. Donations will be listed on his personal webpage so that it will be easy to see if the challenge is being met.
Kekoa et al: At this point, I’m planning to watch the LaTech game at Nancy’s. Had planned to see it at Murphy’s, but my morning meeting has been shifted from Honolulu Hale to Kapolei Hale so I might as well hang around your part of the world to watch the game.
My eyeballs are rolling in my head. Off to bed – 5 am comes too early these days.

yup, 2017. proper prior planning prevents poor performance.

great article today on Tank Hopkins. Discussing his humanity makes me proud to have him on our team.
somebody said, snap and clear.
Besides, coulda woulda shoulda is all a part of life.
on to Louisiana Tech. Go get em, Tank! You can do it, yes you can!
The choreography of this road game is interesting indeed. Travel time can play on the minds of some of the family guys. But there is good in the travel too. Player’s friends living in the area have the chance to drive up and say hello. Overcoming adversity is another part of being a winner.
Winning on the road, on national tv, and properly preparing for that result, I gotta hand it to coach Mack.
He is walking the talk. He’s earning his money. Every penny!
Go Warriors!
maybe its just me, but in the third quarter of every game so far, our offense appears flat. wonder why.
okay, why.
In the third quarter, we gotta keep up the pressure, do not go with conservative, not to lose plays. Don’t give La Tech the opportunity to believe they have a chance. Take the 12th man outta the game in the second half.
good idea.
imo Bruce Pearl is a funny guy. 😀
but one dog hugga wen give him up. weenee. 😆

read in da odda paper da story on Rodney Bradley.
Both Bradley and Tank Hopkins are transfers outta Navarro JC, referred here by a MacMackin connection. They both have family in the area where the Warriors will be staying in Dallas. good for them!
Navarro JC is in Corsicana Tx. hop on I 45 from Dallas. Thats the JC that sent us Melvin Hopkins and Rod Bradley, and where Mr. Curtis is the assistant coach.
Marlin TX is a really short hop from Dallas on da I 35 Thats where Melvin da Tank is frum. Bradley’s mom lives 20 minutes from where the team is staying in Dallas. The team will stay in Dallas 2 nites.
And this is just one more reason why I say Coach Greg MacMackin is a genius. Everybody gets to do something in those 2 days. Including Coach McMackin. Good job, Coach! Maybe you can help JD out and schedule a home and home game with your former, Texas Tech.
Again, good job, Coach.
just no forget your #1 job this week, coach.
buss up La Tech.
heck,
Dallas is a jump from Shreveport. Another short jump to Ruston.
The La Tech game reminds me that we are a distance away. Which is why I appreciate our going to La Tech. Going be a good game to show off our skills on national tv.
now i know why the coaches voted to have Mack lead them. If I’da known him back then I woulda voted for him too.
and always going get naysayers, everywhere and on anykine.
i just going pretend all da odda computers stay broke

Geez. What is up with the Advertiser site. Always asking those irritating questions. When I answer I do not give them reliable data/responses. What is the point gathering bogus information. The other day I was a 87 year old woman from outside the US. Today I was a 14 year old male from somewhere in the US.
Morning wafan. I do the same with the all those papers clogging up the site. I like to choose the birth year 1900 and the zip code in Guam.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Good morning Tsaikos. Have a great Saturday.

I’m glad that Hawaii is still leading in the book race. It is nice that they show you the rankings after you vote.
Happy Birthday UHFan808!

I’m glad you found a ride last week – sorry about yakking too much and not giving you a ride to the circus. 😳

Wasn’t your fault! You needed help from the rest of the D- …. and from the coaches. Heck – it’s a TEAM sport. 😐
Okay, okay….. breathe in…..

Hey – just repeating what others said. It was terrific getting to meet and talk w/ the RoadTsaikos in Sea and LV. My regret is not being able to visit w/ more of you. Anyone that I missed – sorry…. you didn’t miss much if anything! 😆

Happy Birthday UHFan808!
It looks like the big waves arrived, just it time for BigWave96744‘s bday!!! 😀
Hey – kudos to Iolani!!! 😆
Someone seems determined to not let Indiana beat Michigan. Guess it would be bad for business in the Big 11.
Brew808 ~ As Lex Brodie would say, “Thank you very much!” Your contribution to the fun factor was appreciated by all.
It was a treat for the Road Tsaiko’s to meet and hang out with the Mystery Man of the Blog. I noticed Mrs. A-House trying to sneak a photo of you from afar, but then changed her mind and just stood there staring as if to memorize every detail.
If the bad guys from another country ever capture her and ‘water board’ her for intell on you, she will not bend, spindle or break! She is one tough cookie!
Gotta give credit to the Wolf-puppies on their tough non-conference schedule. Maybe they should have stuck to Pac-10 opponents! 🙄 😀 😯
I think she’d just hug them and then have them sign her autograph book! 😆
Hey everyone….. when we kid about Bruddah Kekoa knowing and being related to everyone …. actually…. it’s not a joke! 😀
Mahalo again, to you and Diana! 😀
same ol same…. the bigLITTLE11…. 🙄
Have a great ride, Warriors!

Dat’s old school Oregon unis. Cool! 😎
….talkin’ Dan Fouts’ era.
c_c,
Wish the Warriors would flashback to the Fighting Deans unis….you’d think we were from South Bend. 😉
Wow…. awesome goal-line stand by LSU! Now that’s football! 😀
Howzit brew!
Mahalo for all that YOU did last weekend.
…would have to order oversized helmets…. 😈
…. also no hula dancing allowed…. 🙄
d1島 – hiya! The Mrs. is so quiet and attractive…. I guess it’s true about opposites attract! 😆
Hey, since it’s not a Warrior football saturday… what you brewing/drinking…. instant? 😀
Rumor is In/Out on Tropicana had to do some major restocking after last week. Also TraderJoes! Unfortunately, they had to double the Brinks trucks to haul all the kala we left behind…. 🙁
βρεω808,
back to the 10% stuff. 🙄
I’ll let Mrs. d1島 know what you said. 😆
Noticed the staging mat that UofO has on their sideline for ST’s….
Hey… somebody was inquiring about what the heck “βρεω808” meant….
Please – when you find out, let me know … okay? 😀
UHFan808 is 29, again.
Happy birthday to you!!!
UHFan 808 ~ My goodness! Another birthday slipped in there while you weren’t looking!
If you feel like celebrating just a wee bit more…come by my house tonite as we are hosting an ALL night poker party and jam session to entertain the “aftah Vegas Peeps”. Your birthday gives us something more to celebrate!!
Any excuse for tipping a few brew808 type beverages is acceptable.
Sorry we couldn’t get Amy to stop by this time, but her lead guitarist will be here to play a few tunes. (Chino is single by the way)
A-Joe is going to be here, pickin’ and grinin’ but as you know, he’s taken! (Aunty Tita Leadfoot swings a mean slippah!).
That’s an open invite to any Tsaiko’s who want to come play cards or play music! Drop by and grind some onolicious fuud and wala’au or sing along with da crew! You know you all are always welcome to da hale. We’ll leave da light on for ya!
…maybe that’s something the Tsaikos could work on contributing if Coach Mack thinks it would help.
I wonder where something like that could be fabricated… 🙄
d1島 – Too bad… I would have enjoyed an honest objective discussion w/ you about…. various subjects…. Next time. 😀
d1,
i don’t recall the UO being green before.
….leftovers from WorldMark? 😯
Do we still have that berfday cake? Just have A-Sports cross out annoda name…… 😆 🙄 😆
UO green uni’s blends in with the color of the turf… at least every other 5yd strip…. 😀
BTW – the GREEN at Boyd stadium… showed up very nicely in the stands!!! 😀

Good Morning Tsaikos and Tsaikettes!
I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO UHFAN808!
and a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HIFLYER AND BIGWAVE96744
It’s been a rough week so I will make this short and sweet…
Had an wonderful time in Vegas! Got to meet new Tsaikos and see Tsaikos that we haven’t seen in a while.
Two years ago most of us had just met each other for the first time. We had a terrific time at the tailgate, went to the game together, but afterwards we all went our separate ways.
Before this trip, I was trying to imagine what it would be like now that we have gotten to know each other better and what kinds of things we would do. All I can say is I can’t wait for the next time we all go to Vegas.
From someone who doesn’t know much about football and doesn’t know the subtleties of the game, I do see an overall difference and improvement from last years to this years games. No matter what we woulda coulda shoulda done, I thought we played a good game in Vegas. Good to see Blaze is back in. hehehe.
Hmmm…..I guess this post isn’t that short.
Go Warriors!
“short & sweet”…. just like the person…. 😀
βρεω808,
…not to mention the yellow hats help them hide on the First Down stripe!
heheheh
Hehehe…
Brew, with all the birthdays, I would have had to graffiti the up and down sides of the cake.
Okay… save the cake until Oct. 15…. 😆
Wow thanks Brew!
Wildcat Update
Weber St. just underway at Portland St.
Linfield preparing for a 3:00pm (HT) kick-off at So. Oregon.
GO WILDCATS X 2!!!
UHFan808,
HAPPY BERFDAY, GIRL!!!
Celebrate all day, for the week, for a month, if you can. Always good to be around & have the ability to party.
Kekoa,
Tempting invitation to head over to the ceded lands to party with you guys. Love Chino Montero’s guitar playing! I’m going to the UH WVB game, but if you are still playing, I might drive on out. I’ll bring a mah jong set, just in case. :))
Did you save the frosting? If so, try switch it w/ A-Joe’s toothpaste and see if he even notices…. 😆
Earlier this morning, I clicked on the link to the Centennial Celebration Gala in the current issue of the H-Mail.
First of all, the event is on Wednesday, December 2, before the Wisconsin game. Second, individual tickets are $300 or, if a group puts together a table of ten, then it’s $250 per ticket.
Much as I would like to attend the event, it’s not financially realistic to think about doing so. However, if some of the folks ariound here who will be attending could provide the rest of us with a fairly detailed description of what went on, we would appreciate it very much. Perhaps the program itself could be recorded and placed on the WB setbsite
Happy Birthday to UHFan808
Slugger ~ Did I mention that this is an ALL nite event? Bring a pillow and a blankie, along with your jong set. I’ve got several tents up and we do have flow thru ventilation on the ceded lands…Manuwahi!
D-1 ~ Linfield is making a statement this afternoon? I’m listening.
Por Que’ Ford. Why is the HA ad at the bottom of the blog in Spanish? Did they decide to divert our Southern neighbors from Tiajuana thru Honolulu?
