Iceman gets futbol opportunity
Former UH placekicker Dan “Iceman” Kelly has tryouts planned with Chivas USA and the L.A. Galaxy of Major League Soccer.
Kelly was a decorated goalie until deciding to pursue a football career.
For now, he is putting his football aspirations on hold to focus on soccer. He also coaches a youth team.
Even at UH, Kelly kept busy during the football offseason by playing soccer.

What kind of payday does the players in Major League Soccer look at???
yeah top 10
Morning
Good morning Tsaikos.
Best of luck to Dan Kelly with his soccer dream!
Pomai,
You asked about salaries in the MLS, so I found this link that gives all of their salaries. If you look at the goalies, the starting goalie for Chivas makes $80k (and will be basically impossible for Kelly to beat out right away) and the two backup goalies make $17.9 and $12.9k.
Oops, I think that was the salaries for Chicago. If CHV is Chivas then the goalies make $104k, $33k, and $12.9k.
Another goalie made $50k. Anyway, this gives an idea of the range of salaries.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
I hope that the Iceman is successful in whatever he chooses.
Article about the first Australian in the Super Bowl mentions UH.
Feature article and video with Bess!
This Mock draft guy has Veikune drafted by the Broncos in the 3rd round.
Great Morning All!
Top Twenny! 🙂
Good luck to Dan Kelly.
Good Morning All! Howzit d1!

Good Luck BJ Penn…
Good Luck Arizona Cardinals…
Good Luck to Coach McMackin and his recruiting efforts…
K Peace and Chicken Grease…
Good win for MVB last night. I passed out shortly after the second set so it was a nice surprise to read about the upset “W” today.
Hope MBB can keep the roll going today.
HiHo….
One last thing…
shout out to SLS BB for big OT win over Iolani last night!
Most interesting lin in the article, “Kela Marciel was on a recruiting trip to Weber State in Ogden, UT.”
The pipeline is flowing!
A fine morning to all!
Wow!!! A win for each of the UHM teams. That is a good first step!
Now how about a winning streak of 19 straight as a start.
Al,
Good luck on the Goteborg-bacon concoction. If you are confronted
with any problems like dryness, taste, etc.,let me know.
Helpful hints:
Best BBQ sauce on store shelf: Bull’s eye (Texas-style)
Best BBQ rub on store shelf: none. All store bought rubs
are 60%-70% salt. Make your own. (bacon already salty)
ICEMAN has been helping the youth in the snap, hold, &kick clinic. Last night he was given an award and recognized for his career at Hawaii and a highlight video was shown courtesy of chawan_cut and ubercow (@ sportshawaii)
Top of the morning Tsaiko Villagers!
Good to hear that The Ice Man will still be kickin’ a$$!
Was going to say something about the HA Union settlement, but didn’t want to end up being a person of interest again.
Shoutout to Stretch since he’s hangin’ with us old futs, it’s the only way we can communicate with each other.
D-1 ~ Has the ‘Complex’ considered turning that cane field across the street into a demolition derby track! Get plenny cars fo use!
Homey ~ Are you making your preparations early for fight nite?
Koakane ~ What the scoops for the bb king?
BG ~ No “Jubilee” on Saturday. Expect a foot and wall locker with a full field layout on Palm Circle @ 0900. Hehehe!
wafan ~ Weather report from the former Olympia Biru Brewery please sir. If the slogan is still “It’s the Water” is there a lot of flood crud in the Nisqually river from the last heavy storm?
FYI, IceMom really enjoyed son’s live chat here…
Howzit 808ike!
Are you going to attend the grand gathering at Krazy Karaoke next Sat?
Can’t wait to sample another of your culinary creations!
BJ Penn…Hawaiian Pride!!!
Kekoa,
Will have to pass on this one. Maybe the next one. In Tsaikoland,
there are may excellent cooks (chefs). T-gate is proof of that. Can
retire from cooking pretty soon.
Kekoa,
Thanks for the update on Queen Diana.
808ike…retire?! Nix…Nein..Frankenstein! Once a Tsaiko ALWAYS a Tsaiko Chef!
It’s in the fine print of the T-gate Rule book. Our Tsaiko legal staff will never allow frivolous law suits anyway.
Can you imagine having to argue your case with Big Hilo Fan! ’nuff sed!
morning 8) to all the tsai-ko’s in the hawaiian isles and the hawaiian at heart. looking good so far with the sun peeking out from some scattered clouds.
special howzit to all the early uppers sipping their kope, reading the paper and just cruzing. no disrespect to pb but go black and gold 😀 and wishing bj good luck tonight.
kekoa had nice talk over phone with diana while you and pops was out. she sounded in good spirits 😆 hope it was not the meds that was kicking in.
nothing special to report just busy with small stuff like supa bowl and checking HPU bball.
hey 808ike you must be practicing your posting a lot…good work.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
Nice to see you again Pauoa Boy…was wondering why we hadn’t seen you in a while.
No interest in fight but good luck to BJ Penn! Gotta have that local pride.
Beware of people eating weird animal parts this weekend. Lots of food being prepared for the big fight and game!
Rob25 ~
I get left ovah Na’au Pua’a fo you girl!…and some onolicious Squid Luau!
Koakane,
Have a little free time.
Good luck to BJ Penn.
IT COMES IN 3’s!!!
AWESOME volleyball match last night! The game started out “slow” but it felt like “old” times at mens volleyball during set 4 and 5 again at the Stanley!!!
Again, the pep band MAKES a HUGE difference.
But a NEW streak has started with THREE wins… Sometimes it just takes ANY kind of win to get it started. First with the Bows at LaTech, then the Wahine BBall Bows at Utah State, then the Warriors at home.
LET’S KEEP IT GOING!!!!
Finally, Friday was a great day in UH sports.
Howzit Kekoa! How’s the Queen’s requovery proceeding?
Na’au Pua’a for breakfast?! Good heavens my dear man, that takes me all the way back to a post-pig hunting repast in Na’alehu with my kanaka cusins, circa 1970’s. 😆
808ike
boss’ bbq sauce is mo betta.
i am not attempting that sausage roll. just plain goteborg sausage. i think i am begiining to recall my father preparing the aforementioned the more i think of it after all goteborg sausage musubi is a kauai original i am told.
GEEEEEV ‘EM BJ!!!!
Eh, all you mokes out dere, BEHAVE and share your Steinlager and akule poke.
(I wonder about some MMA fans sometimes…)
roysan16…..
how was your steak dinner?
so, yesterday after a rare movie we went to costco for our weekly reload. the day’s special were some us prime spencer’s. at 8.99 lb it was yelling out to me, “eat me! eat me!”.
some how a tray lands in my cart. needless to say, was cooked to perfection by the “iron chef hibachi” aka #1 son. was soooo ono and melt in the mouth. seasoned with some ws sauce, hawn salt, garlic powder, and fresh cracked peppers. served with saute’ sweet onions.
“cousins” I meant… 😳
IMUA BJ PENN!!! HIKI NO!!!
Al,
Tried boss’. OK. Prefer BBQ sauces that taste like one of the 4
regional sauces. Texas-style, Kansas City-style, Memphis-style
or North Carolina-style. Of course, homemade rubs and sauces
are like UH sports, #1.
al – You should have invited me! Now that sounds like a deeelicious meal!
Sorry Kekoa! 😳 You know that I gotta pass on your offering!
Is it me or this blog in the future? I wish I had this kind of foresight in Vegas!
good luck to bj today…
Howzit Kazz-
’bout your C&K question: I used to work at KGMB. Back in ’98 KGMB filmed a C&K special in their studio. Producers asked the staff to invite friends & family to be in the studio audience. Me & ‘sports volunteered.
Apparently from that shoot, C&K clipped a portion and stuck it into their Anniversary vid that plays on OC16. Just so happen that little clip get me and ‘Sports in ‘um.
Two weeks ago Kekaula saw the vid and made a comment to ST he saw “addahknowjoe” (on his 108-inch LCD flat screen HD Hi-Def with Bose Lifestyle 48 Home Entertainment System) tearing up while listening to C&K.
I told ST, “NO WAY! That was all done with CG!”
808ike….
i mean the boss’ bbq sauce. when did you try it?
A-Joe,
dey u go!
Eh Hawaiian, you easy fo’ spot because hard to find da ruggedly handsome kanaka maoli ke’ia manawa… 😆
And I stay tearin’ up just tinkin about you tearin’ up! Oh soooo sensitive no ho’i! 😆
Whoa, Mrs A-House was on a roll last night watching the VB match and hexing/voodoing CSNU servers with her hands shaking saying “into the net” before the serve. It worked 15 out of 18 times during the second half of the 3rd , 4th, and 5th games.
Well, it may have been totally coincidental, but what the hay, we were having fun.
WOW a-joe…all this time I have been in the company of a star! Who da thunk it?
Now CFK get some competition!
Hope all the recruiting visits go well for Coach Mack this weekend.
I wish Jim D could have invited fans to help with the lower campus cleanup this morning – we were ready to go with all our tools and clothing (long pants and shirt, hat, gloves, water bottles, etc. and willing to sign a waiver releasing UH from any liability for injury sustained.
Good morning Tsai-kos!!
Happy Saturday to you all.
Good luck to da Iceman.
Pomai – the big bucks in futbol are overseas, probably in Europe.
Rob25- Hands down CFK moa handsome.
DPK- no can help. The cameraman tried to pull back and pan but his lens wasn’t wide enuff. he finally had to turn off his camera, walk 12 feet and reset.
A-House,
It must be all in da family because Midori was working her voodoo at the Stanley last night as well.
I just sat at the edge of my seat screaming but trying not to blurt out expletives. 😆
The Twins are the Voodoo queens.
You don’t want those ~wiggly~ fingers pointed at you.
Good morning everyone!
Only 7 food shopping days left until the…

best wishes to Dan.
i heard he was lucky enough to play with/against THE Princess here.
i wonder who the better player is?

Kekoa…
Idaho…do I have to mention it again?
I think that I have a problem with eating meats that aren’t fully cooked. :rolls:
I was very happy to hear of the MBB, WBB, and MVB wins recently. I forgot about watching MVB last night because I had to setup new laptop since the kids killed the last one. What do you know on my way to look for one…some guy in a truck is stalking me when I leave work…hahaha.
Thanks Stretch!!
A-joe you need to show them your moves!! That puts you ahead of CFK!!
watching the college all star challenge now on espn. recalling last year as we saw colt trash all the other competition yet get left behind later in the draft.
stupid media and the anti-run and shoot bias. look how many people loved all the passing QBs and systems this year. fools.
Good afternoon, Tsaiko-Nation and Tsai-Meister.
Glad to hear Kelly is persuing soccer. His last year probably ruined his chances at the NFL, too bad.
The pay in the US Soccer leagues is quite miniscule, compared to almost anywhere else in the world. Most players play for the love of the game here and the small chance to play in Europe.
Overall their payroll structure goes about 80 % to the top 20 % of players, the socalled stars, the balance is divided among the rest. In the Bundes Liga, for example, even the lowest paid players get about 4-500,000 $, playing year ’round.
There is a lot of talent in the US, but until the mainstream will accept soccer as a major sport, not much will change.
The US National team is actually quite good, but what they’re always lacking is creativity in “the box” and pure strikers. Defensively they can play with most teams.
A great showing in the next world cup might help matters, but a quick knock out again and what little inroads have been made will quickly evaporate.
You go c_c!!
Thanks for the link to the fight…
Check you guys out later! :-h
Hopefully Hawaii sports has turned the corner, those three wins were a great booster shot in the arm.
Let’s keep going with this trend, please?
I hope B.J.Penn wins his fight, just because he’s local, but it’s not really my cup of tea. It’s a little too primal for me, makes me feel that I’m in a 2000 year time warp, back in the Roman Colosseum.
Even though we’ve been to the moon and back a few times, we haven’t changed all that much. We still love our arenas and plenty of the old instincts are still hanging around our DNA, lol.
Hey, everybody ran away? I took a shower this morning.
Are you gonna watch the fight tonight, Ted?
Hi, DPK,
I would watch it for free ( I have some old DNA too, lol) and only because it’s BJ, but I only pay for Warrior games.
Well, since the WB is apparently hibernating a little, I might as well go Super Bowl shopping.
My wife is making Kalua Pig. She found a receipe awile back that tastes almost like the real thing. She’s sending me out to fill her list, it’s too cold for her (46 F).
We’re having a cold snap right now, but the Minnesota, Michigan and Canadien people are still running around in shorts and T-shirts, while I look like I’m going skiing.
A-Joe:
“I know everything I have to know about you …”
I think it’s kind of amusing that the band, no matter what, keeps chanting “Let’s Go Bows!”
Same with the fans.
It’s like the nickname that wouldn’t die.
Trivia question: Joe Strotman, last night’s semi-hero, is dating the daughter of which former UH great?
Tsai-Meister,
What counts as a click on the WB blog? If I refresh the page, is that counted as a click?
The “Bows” nick name will not die, as long as there are those various Rainbow parts remaining with some of our sports teams. It needs to be streamlined and then maybe in 10 years….
O.k. then, see ya laterz.
FloridaTed,
The big thing for revenue is unique visitors…so, refreshing will not boost that number. The clicks or hits are nice for stats, but advertisers know how to look at unique visitors and other measures (things like how long someone spends on a website).
#80 Trivia Question.
A: Gerald Ako, Ambree’s dad.
My guess.
It is amazing that *one* high school in Florida could have more D-IA football prospects than the *entire* state of Wisconsin!
Some Wisconsin fans aren’t too happy with how Wisconsin has been recruiting so many players from Florida…but it sounds like they pretty much have to go out of state for players.
Slow day.
Kekoa . . .
re: Nisqually
No major flooding of residential areas this year — yet. We are about halfway through Winter. As you recall, Spring is usually the worst time for floods along the rivers and flats.
Hoping your boss is feeling a lot better today!
Looks like everybody is out Super Bowl Party shopping. Just got back myself.
It almost has the feel of a National Holiday. In contrast to the World Cup, where everything happens on the streets and in Bars, the Superbowl seems to be more of a family and friends type of affair. I like that a lot better, actually.
Garret,
Thanks for the info. Is there anything you don’t know? Lol. So, refreshing wouldn’t do anything.
In the Publix Supermarket I go to, the cash registers looked like the Wagon Trains starting line, just just before the Land Rush west.
Most shopping carts piled a yard high.
In principal, since the Warriors are not playing in the Super Bowl, I’m rooting for Arizona, simply because I’m always for the underdog.
Considering that 75 % of the planets population is in the underdog category, makes this an easy choice. Other than that, I’ve no feelings for either Pittsburg or Phoenix, but I do hope for a great game.
GTood afternoon Tsaikos everywhere.
whitey,
looking forward to a dinner, etc. wuz on da darkest side of hilo last nite. wuz interrupted right in da middle ah da ino by kekoa. 😀
AHouse,
great idea you posted above. Hope Jim Donovan reads that post and makes the relesases for more cleanups on lower campus, pruning, painting, etc. gimme one gnerator and one sprayer and i’m right there!
😀
jfbi,
nhowzit bradda. hope dat sparkplugs of former Keaukaha Warrior fame keep it up at thed college level. da Manoe and Napeahi familyh are sooo happy da braddaz are representing.
and you right about dat, keaukaha fo life!1
Tampa is going a little nuts right now, with Parties in every bar. People are renting their houses for the week for up to $20,000.-. Nice to know there are still people who actually can afford that.
i also get da feeling that Jeordan gonna be a super player. i would if i wuz given a second chance at life and I had his talent. let him make himself proud, and show us who he is and who he is growing up to become. Go Hanohano!
Go Warriors!
Hi, bhf2,
Finally get some help to push this thing over 100.
I hope for all the local boys to become big corner stones for our program. This would help a lot with future recruiting. To be highly respected in your own community should always be a big plus.
Hit and run? Now I’m lonely again.
This is spooky. Is this thing on?
Howzit bhf2 and FT!
Talked to someone from Phoenix the other day. He just got season tix this year. He said he kept looking out his window wondering when it was gonna freeze over. 😀 He said about 50K people were still in the stands about an hour after the NFC championship game.
O.k. then, 100.
My invisible suit is working. Have to talk to Garret about that.
See you laterz then, this is getting too lonely.
jm2375,
Sneeky you, yah? Lol.
But thanks for the help.
I can understand the people of Phoenix. 60 years of futility finally over. I’m actually very happy for them. Still remember the von Crappen years, so we know how they feel right now. That’s the major reason I’m rooting for them. Pittsburg already has 5 SB’s.
Supper vb game. Bring back memories of the old days. Did you notice that # 5 played no minutes and #24 played only 1 minutes in the last BB game. I guess that was what Nash was refering to when he said those that does not buy into the system will be set down..
Momo,
They seem to have their number, hope they can do it again tonight.
Glad to see that Nash is getting a bit tougher, maybe that’s what they need.
By the way, if Kelly is getting a try out with the Galaxy and Chivas, he must have a pretty good reputation in the soccer world. They don’t try out just anybody for the heck of it.
Im watching Haku Correa…he wasnt challenged in HS.
43 minutes till fight time!
well, probably more than that. got all the undercard stuff.
BHF2
Understand that the Ching/Cooke Field dedication is going to be scheduled next week or the week after.
Maybe JD will invite us!
I was at a RFL meeting today, and I was told that the dedication will be Monday.
Among other things, I learned that the athletic department forgoes a hefty rental fee in order to allow RFL to go on. Many thanks to Jim Donovan for continuing this practice.
Thankfully, someone clarified that there is, at no point, to be any stakes driven into the turf when setting up tents. That would almost be on par with mowing the turf down … 😀
Speaking of Relay for Life, thank you to those that have already donated or have pledged to donate. So far, eight people have donated a total of $365.00! And several others have pledged varying amounts as well. You can see their names by going to my RFL page. Thank to everyone who has decided to give so generously to the American Cancer Society for this cause. Of course, my personal goal is $2,500, so there’s quite a ways to go …
Periodically, I’ll be posting quick reminders asking for donations. You can read a request letter that I wrote on my Web site:
http://www.deep-mirrors.org/jason/relay.html
That letter also contains a link to where you can donate online, or print out a form to mail in your check or money order.
I think sjmacro said it best: Lend your support in spirit or by donation to Jason or any of the student/athlete teams. This is a “yes we can” event that benefits our community. So please consider helping. Even if it’s only a small amount — if 125 people donated $20, that would meet my goal. I am sure that there are at least that many people who lurk, if not more. Please think about any family members or friends who have been affected by cancer, and consider giving so that someday, nobody will ever have to hear such a dreaded diagnosis again. Thank you!
Jason
Just did it Thanks………….
Hey Jason, thanks so much for your organizing efforts for such a worthy cause.
it seems like this is the dead zone around here.
either you out buying pupus for tomw or for today or for both. i was at tanioka’s today and the line (of course) was out the door. but at least twenty workers pumping out the poke’s.
i’ll bet today and tomw will ring in about a total of 50k at least per day.
so how about a surprise.
we haven’t had any surprises in the past few days.

Nice kill to start the match!
Nice play to begin the match…4-1 Hawaii
Wow Penn took a pounding. No contest. It was very painful to watch.
Hey, we’re back.
Not looking good for Penn…X_X
Men’s VB wins for match!!
And they’re implementing that delay thing. Hmm, whatever happened to that new dedicated set of servers that they told me about? Those servers were supposed to prevent this kind of crash from happening.
MVB struggling a little now…X(
Who broke the blog???
Tepa committed to UCLA tonight. The reporter said he has long been a silent commit to UCLA so I guess Hawaii never really had a chance.
That was an old fashion butt kicking….ouch
#137
BJ Penn: damn y0 ….that was a beat down. I pray that our Athletes watched that fight because that goes to show you, no matter how talented you are, if you do not train and take things seriously, you going to get your a$$ handed to you.
its not easy moving up in weight class as history has dictated over the years in any kind of fight.
much heart being displayed by the local boy.
no shame.
i don’t think too many of us are surprised with tepa’s choice.
blog broke yeh?
my head hurts…watching that MMA fight…..yowzers
al # 148 tru dat dude, tru dat.
tepa snepa….silent commit, wtf.
Who Tepa???
Wow BJ looked like punching bag. It was too painful to watch.
Norm Chow sure is flying all over the place…with several recruits in Hawaii being visited by him.
Article about grayshirting discusses how Texas, Texas Tech, and UH used it in past years.
Congrats to the Men’s VB team for their second straight win over the #2 team in the country.
I guess Billy Ray is UH’s first greenshirt. Texas regularly gets these types of recruits–they have 5 this year.
I remember talking about Junior Days and how other schools use them for years, both on and off this blog. JJ never had one at UH and I always wanted UH to have them…hard for me to believe that he’s had a Junior Day for 2010 recruits before the 2009 recruits even had their NLI day!
BJ Penn got rocked tonight…looked slow, sluggish and overpowered by St. Pierre. Maybe Penn should stick to 155 weight class, he was clearly outmatched the whole fight.
Free play link time. Please ignore my next 5 posts if you do not want the off-topic stuff.
Spinner sharks migrate close to the Florida shore this time of year…and they have been jumping up out of the water a few feet from where people are surfing!
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement was passed after a lot of publicity last year but seems horribly flawed! The law is supposed to come into effect on February 10 and could kill all thrift stores and craft stores…and basically outlaws children’s books in bookstores and libraries! They have a choice of banning children from libraries or removing all children’s books (which would keep children out of the library).
Great win by the VB team. Only in VB can you be that highly ranked with a losing record. I hope they have it turned around now.
The BB team sorely needs a dependable 3 point shooter. That was the difference tonight.
al-
Your #148. Yup.
Nuff said.
Article about “love potions” mentions how marriage counselors might administer oxytocin (via a nasal spray) in the future as a part of marital therapy that would help prevent couples from divorcing. They also seem to have an “anti-love potion” (oxytocin blocker) that would prevent someone from falling in love.
Study found that heavy use of coffee may lead to hallucinations.
Finally, the blog is back up.
Ohhhhhh… The old comment delay trick.
Boy was born at San Francisco’s Saint Luke’s Hospital’s with 12 perfect fingers and 12 perfect toes…everything was so normal after birth that nobody noticed at first that he had a extra finger on each hand and an extra toe on each foot!
Congrats to the men’s vb team!! Great win tonight. They are starting to look like the vb teams of old.
No offense to Lisa Maa, but I miss Chris McLachlin. Hope he’s back for the next game.
Why do the techies do maintenance on Sat night? Can’t they do it in the wee hours of the morning, say 2 am, like everyone else?
Free play links pau.
I remember when hackers were going after MSN e-mail accounts and got RainbowCliff among others. Now, they are going after Facebook…I know that a lot of people here have Facebook accounts and I hope they make their passwords hard to guess because the hackers are trying to steal Facebook accounts now.
Instead of hacking into msn e-mail accounts, now the scammers are hacking Facebook accounts and getting the “friends” of the Facebook owner to send money to fake addresses, claiming that the Facebook owner was robbed and needs money to return home.
I didn’t realize the blog was down for so long…I got online and checked the blog and it was down, but 5 minutes later it was back up. I was offline all evening–we have friends with girls the same age as our girls and we have been alternating Saturdays for babysitting. Tonight was date night for Lori and me! I wish that Momo and Mrs. Momo were here to babysit often, but at least this way we get some time out.
i thought was my pc. it was a planned outage?
poor directv and dish network folks….tomw they won’t be able to catch the superbowl in hd.
so the young folks were over tonight to watch bj penn.
i used them as guinea pigs.
goteborg sausage, rice, furikake, ajitsuke nori.
surprisingly half of them have had it before.
so the next batch i add a mini dollop of best foods.
sounds like the recipe for tomw.
is their a time delay?
Garret= with my last day of work June 10 th, momo and mrs momo can take lots of trips to help out as long as Hawaiian air have space avail. I or we will travel a lot next year and make use of HA.
Super VB game. Maybe they finally got the right line up.
al – I can’t even get NBC in hd on Dish. I want to know what the problem is. Wonder if it’s the same type of dispute as Time Warner and NFL Network.
Anyone gonna stay up and watch an epic tennis match – Federer vs Nadal?
where’s my comment?
Strangeness on the WB tonight 😯
did I scare everyone away?
jm0911
there’s an info banner that stated no hd for dish/directv and that those customers could call 0c16 for info/help.
probably offer you a special on oc16 services.
blog bloke?
we may have a surprise or two by monday, perhaps as soon as sunday. but, if i were mack, at this point i would delay any annoucements until wednesday. we have had our share of poachers and a good number of decommits.
therefore, i’d wait until the ink has dried.
al-
Do you have a delay on your side?
furthermore….
it is good that we have pac 10 poachers. it shows that our staff has been doing there homework and are at least on to some very good talent.
not anymore.
oops spoke too soon.
I guess tonight we can ask any kine questions of recruits and won’t be violating any NCAA rules, because by the time this comment is posted and they answer it, it will be after LOI Day! Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk! 😆
al – I’ve been complaining about it since they switched out KHNL HD for KFVE HD. I sent an email to KHNL before Christmas, which was read, I think, but I never got a response. Right now, I couldn’t care less, since I don’t have a HD TV.
we have had some decommits;
k. williams
k. makaula
i. tepa
nobriga is still on the bubble. who does he choose his dad or mom?
and we took some too
d. graves
j. sula
d. stewart
a. green
c. shutter
How can you speak too soon if the blog takes forever to post stuff?
Well, I would say goodnight, but since it will be morning when this posts I’ll just say good morning. 😆
jm911
khnl is in hd these days.
getting back to the goteborg musubi
please info midori7 that scoring the perimeter of goteborg sausage actually is a detriment when making the musubi version. frying the slice sausage makes it in to a concave disk. when lends towards making the musubi. you know it has a cupping effect much like a women’s (ahem) undergarment.
also, al’s style is with a mini dollop of best foods mayo. i should trademark that one huh? goteborg musubi al’s style™
all of the HA blogs were offline from 8:20 to 11 pm for me.. what happened..
about now stevem is drooling.
al – ainokea. I no mo one hd tv anyways.
Comments were made days ago questioning the amount of kids UH were recruiting. It seemed liked we recruited too much.
Believe the staff expected to be some form of attrition.
Ralph – I believe the tekkies decided to do maintenance on the blogs. Dunno why they couldn’t have waited till 2 am. Oh wait, that may have incurred the wrath of pride. 😀
i keep thinking that stephanie lum’s days are numbered here on the islands. not because a team will pick her up as “vili” type mascot.
i just think that she is bringing her ‘a’ game with her nightly newscasts and her looks is definitely an attribute that some larger market or syndicated network will soon offer her a bigtime contract.
ralph….the blog is preparing for the surprise.
al- Ranch dressing mo bettah.
al, you coming to maui this week?????
for amusement only. what are the lines for tomorrow????
blog broke, so going sleep
okay, is that the ka’u version of the goteborg musubi or is mrs.joe’s?
whitey…..maybe the week after.
pitt -7
lights out time.
before i do one last parting shot. vball looked good. too bad it has taken this long to settle in on a lineup. the early version was too inexperienced i like this one a little better. grgas has upped his game. enter dyer and carney is the man, the leader of the pack.
but, the straw that stirs this drink is ric cervantes. his quickness is unsurpassed. normally the libero goes unnoticed except for their off color uniform, but, he continues to make so many plays it is a pleasure to see him flying all over the court.
eh. whitey, take the cards plus pts.
test
Momo,
It would be great to see you in San Diego more! You folks have to take care of your Hawaii grandchildren so I think it has been over a year since your last visit here (not counting the day after the cruise). At least we have seen you folks in Hawaii, Vegas, and the cruise.
It is too bad about your job…I don’t know what will happen to the kids you teach and who will be able to take over.
Good morning Tsxaikos everywhere.
I go wash clothes yesterday and den no can get back. darn when tings go bust!
Good morning from Monterey, CA, Tsaikos…
Best of luck to Dan in the soccer tryouts, and thanks, Iceman, for clutch kicks in some of the most memorable wins in UH history!
I echo 99club’s sentiments Dan Kelly.
best of luck in life to you and your family.
supposedly the fb season tix sale starts this week.
i wonder if Brian brought us a present from Samoa.
They are sticking it to Arizona backers at the sportsbooks in Laughlin, NV. 125 to win a 100 if you took the points. Ouch!
Travis Laboy is listed as questionable with the bicep injury.
A super morning to everyone!
I hope you are all ready for the days festivities — mayo, oysters, adult refreshments, and best not to know what it used to be meats. Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Great Super Sunday Morning All!
I hope I post this early enough for it to appear while it’s still morning! 😐
Oh my! It appeared right away and the clock is correct!
😳
Spoke too soon. I guess they got some kinda filter for spammers.
Well, I already had mine today…with eggs, over easy!

Just don’t put on no “I’m Irish” kine sweater! 😆
OK. this delay stuff is getting to me.
I guess the HA has its share of NFA’s as well. 🙁
Enjoy the game erryboddy!
laters…
Slow?
Yes.
Good morning from five minutes ago, errybody! 🙂
The blog is acting schizophrenic… Usually it’s the posters who are. 😆
A-House,
Can’t picture in my mind Mrs. A-House voodooing opponent’s
serve. She probably learned it from Midori 7. Nice to know she
still has a lot of spunk in her.
High Life!
Al,
RE: Boss’ BBQ sauce.
A long time ago, went to a cookout. BBQ ribs on the menu. The BBQ
sauce tasted like a hybrid. Asked about the sauce and the guy showed
me a bottle of BBQ sauce bought from the store. All I can remember
is the brand name begins with the letter “B”. Maybe that was Boss’,
maybe another brand.
good morning and happy superbowl Sunday!
hope its a good game and better yet…..hope everyone enjoys the day.
recruiting is the lifeblood as we all know, but can’t get’em all. at least we know U of Hawaii has made improvements in budgeting and style of recruiting.
Al,
Don’t know a lot about store-bought BBQ sauces. The only time I have
the opportunity to taste it, is when someone uses it at a cookout. The
closest store-bought BBQ sauce to the real deal is Bull’s eye. BBQ
rubs are a lot simpler vs homemade. Store ones are really salty.
esme out!!
Go Iceman!
All is cool in NZ. Will catch up on the blog later. Internet is $10 an hour!
Miss you guys!
Anyone know if Gary Nagy is enrolled at UH now?
Okay what is going on with this blog?
I just read comments from d1 and 808ike. Refreshed and now they are gone.
Who is the Houdini of the techies?
We all wish you guys would get your act together!
That comment on the bottom, “Your comment may take some time to appear.”
No fecal matter Sherlock(s)!
wafan,
your right about the blog being cookoo
just seen it happen
aaahhhh
where did my post go
Good Super Sunday everyone!
Posts after Doris’ are not showing up on the new blog.

GO CARDINALS!!!
Lizk,
type and read faster!
Greetings from the Ceded Lands!
Aunty Diana sends her best to errybody. Had a slight adjustment to her meds, and fighting infection and that throbbing boom-shaka-lacka pain.
She has her Steelers shirt on and is cheering for the Cards…Go Figure!
