Got StubHub?
Hope you bought your ticket.
Saturday’s season-opening game is sold out, according to USC officials.
It is one of three USC home games this season already sold out.
If everybody shows up, this will be the largest crowd for a UH game. Ever.
* * * * *
And for UH’s Spanish-speaking fans, the game will be on Fox Deportes.
* * * * *
USC will announce its No. 2 quarterback tomorrow. No, it’s not that late. The Trojans’ training camp ended this past weekend.
* * * * *
How fast is cornerback Isiah Wiley? He was declared academically ineligible on Friday and now is set to enroll at an NAIA school.
* * * * *
Everything was just a trial run before. Norm Chow’s head coaching media responsibilities begin with today’s news conference. (He’ll also speak at Na Koa’s luncheon.)
Tomorrow, Chow begins his rotation with the Mountain West Conference’s teleconference.
Ole
Aw-shucks!, wanted to buy a ticket…..bwaahaha!!

Excellent organizational skills again.
And I do like how your connections with punters.
Touchdown is Thursday night.
Earthquake on Saturday! Thank you ST
Good morning!
Whether the Warriors win or lose on Saturday, on Sunday, the focus will be on who will be Lamar’s starting QB.
Not sure how it is for everybody else, but it’s been raining hard on the Windward side.
ST: chartered flight?
raining here near Aloha Stadium.
Gigi:
Sure, there will be charter flights.
There also will be a Stevie Wonder concert.
Around 35 straight days without rain here.
It will be a regular commercial flight on Hawaiian Airlines.
If you have an aisle bulkhead seat, don’t go to the bathroom. That’s a coveted seat.
ST: sooo looks like the players will sit in first class seats?
The bulkhead seat or the bathroom?
Murphy’s Pigskin Pigout raised $60,000 for Na Koa. A very special Mahalo to Don and Marion Murphy for their support of Warrior football. Article and photos now up on the website:
http://www.nakoa.org/2012/08/murphys-pigskin-pigout-raises-60000-for-na-koa/
what is a bulkhead seat?
Every now and then I’ll have a great seat. Then a couple on stand-by approach and ask if I can trade with one of them so they can sit together.
That’s when I put on the headphones and pretend I’m listening to Fox Deportes.
With the larger bodies it must be interesting for the carts to get up and down the aisles.
$60K is a cool number.
Gigi:
Players don’t sit in first class.
Good Morning!
Heck, I would not want to have the middle seat between linemen. That would be a squeeze!
Is the blog boss traveling with the team?
Got to get to work hopefully the cloud above doesn’t burst….
I remember when UH was going to play at Michigan State. The flight was to Chicago.
Jerry Glanville gets on board, then starts walking to his left.
That’s when Mouse Davis had to remind Glanville he wasn’t a head coach anymore.
Glanville had to turn right.
hubby hated the obese guy next to him on the aisle seat – because the guy was so scared his bag would be stolen, he put it on the floor in front of his seat, and his feet on top of the bag with his knees spread apart and his overcoat draped on his knees. Imagine going over all that to get to the bathroom.
On that same flight. we de-board, and Mouse has blood stains on his face.
He said: “You should have seen the other guy.”
We never did find out what happened.
27 — seem to remember some low-cost carrier exploring the idea of charging for use of that other preferred seat (lavatory). 29 — a bulkhead seat is in the row immediately behind a divider, such as a galley. In other words, not behind a row of seats, so there’s no place to stow your stuff at takeoff but no one reclining a seat back into your lap either.
As a former lineman, I resemble that remark! When does school start again for you?
GG . . .
Hubby should have stepped on the guys feet and bag on the way in and out. Then complained about how much fluid was on the floor on the way in.
Reardon and our photographer are going up earlier.
I’ll be going up a couple of days after that.
thanks, greenthumb. I had to google bulkhead seat for a picture.
bulkhead seats are as good as first class without the freebies.
worst seats can be the exit row seats and the last row in back of the bus that don’t recline.
st…next time start speaking your best “fake” japanese with your palms up.
ummm…hubby and wafan are little guys? right!
Mouse probably shaved his face with a razor blade and cut himself.
Al: hubby and I have been waging war against our obesity for years. Every time we went on a diet, we’d lose weight, but gain it back and then some after going off the diet. We need to find something we can stick with til we die.
wet monday morn to all
a few more days and warrior football babe
congrats to the wahines this weekend, ditto to everyone comments about starting off the UH season with a bang. lets keep it going gangie.
student reminder you belong so represent
wow sneaked in before al on the 5-0
Speaking of Mouse, I remember a story about him and Ault almost getting into a fight after the Nevada-Portland State game. That was when JJ was the QB. JJ said that as he was walking off the field, he looked back and saw the two of them having a heated arguement. The assistants had to break those two apart.
Guess no matter how old you get, if you have a temper it stays with you.
gg…glad you inquired because of your curious mind.
i have found it…as in eureka.
i’ll tell you a story about a guy just like you and david who may have found a plan that works.
give me your email.
kk…i could smell you lurking in the shadows. thought i’d be nice to my elder and let you have it.

Thank goodness for our High School sports…
They’ve been katooshing now for awhile and entertaining us.
al . . .
Nope. That is why I always ask for a window seat and generally remain seated the entire SEA and HNL flights. And, if I have to sit in the aisle seat I always stand when folks need to get in and out.
I do not want their shi-shi soaked shoes stepping on me. HA!
In Business Class JAL is offering every customer unobstructed access to the aisles…
http://newsonjapan.com/html/newsdesk/article/97884.php
I just hope Coach chow mentally prepared the guys for the loud noise and cameras and the USC band..somehow they need to be calm and controlled throughout that or they wont play as well ….its seems like we always have a deer in headlights look in big tv games…also i think we warrior fans deserve a GOOD ending to our football season this year , its been 4 years , its time to turn that corner, and give us fans some relief from the past 3 horrible bowl games we played… …GOOOOO WARRIORS
Good Morning Everyone!

USC 20 HAWAII 24 !!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Keith Tokumoto!
Wishing you a wonderful year of happiness and joy!

Just a reminder to the team and coaches:
Don’t drink the water! It’s chock full of fluroide which dumbs down your brain…
Most everyone in LA drinks bottled water.
Tsaikos, Tsaikos near and far:
Again I turn to you who have football season tickets and your friends who have the same.
Attached to our season tickets is a “ticket coupon” good for a men’s or women’s basketball game. If you and/or your friends will NOT use the coupon, I will start my second annual collection of the “ticket coupons” to give to Coach Beeman to use as she fits – hopefull, inviting an entire high school girls team to watch a game.
Bring to the tailgates and I will collect or mail to me or drop it at my office – 1164 Bishop Street, Rm 400.
Many, many mahalos!!!!!!
#30 Stephen. Too funny. Just say “我不说英语.” Might be more convincing.
Ah yes, Happy birthday to iwwthm’s friend, Keith!
Disagree with the fluoride statement. Think people drink bottled water cuz the tap water has sooooo much chlorine in it.

No, no habla engleish.
Amazing issues here. I’m very satisfied to see your article. Thanks a lot and I’m taking a look forward to touch you. Will you please drop me a mail?
al check message (subliminal?)
wafan…too funny brah.
Its such as you read my mind! You appear to grasp so much about this, such as you wrote the e-book in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with some p.c. to power the message house a little bit, however instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
An incredible volleyball match last night. Hope to see some of you in person at The Stan between now and November 23rd which is the last regular season game.
With respect to the USC football game, I cannot help being anything but realistic as to the final score given the new coaching staff, the new game plan(s), and the quality of the USC team.
All I expect is a UH team pozitive mentality and a spirited approach before, during & after Saturday’s game.
BTW – what has happened to Alex Dunnachie? I know he worked out with the team and I read about his legal issues; however, what is his playing status? We need him and he needs to play if he has any chance of impressing pro teams.
Finally, whatever happened to Colt Brennan? Is he back in California with his family? What is happening to him legally? Has he gone into a residential treatment facility like Hina Mauka? Way, way back in the day, DrDoc and I were very much involved in helping Hina Mauka find its first serious public funding because of our personal & political connections to its first executive director
good morning Tsaikos!!!
Woo hoo….I can smell football in the air…..Here we go!!!!
And a BIG CONGRATS to the Wahine last night….awesome fun game!!!
j/j…das kk you stay smell.
Whoops!!! positive – not pozitive
I’ve been saying for the past few years that UH should petition the NCAA to start their football season 1 week earlier than the rest of nation with a big name school, since big name schools will be harder to book at the end of the year because of the larger conference’s tournaments. If that is impossible, and the NCAA says you cannot start until a certain WEEK, maybe we can have a Monday or Sunday night game on the first week. I looked at Ipu Man’s post and there seems to be a few games on the Thursday and Friday prior to Sept. 1. If we have a Monday or prefered Sunday game before the NFL starts, we get full national exposure. We also can schedule a smaller school (d2) for the game on the next Sautrday. Preseason practice may be an issue though. Thoughts?
Joe Montana said a few minutes ago that coming out of Notre Dame he
was NOT ready for the faster NFL game. So…maybe we SHOULD schedule ND…
ppj2…me too.
I’ve said that least 950711 times. SCK was here
Looked at the USC depth chart and they have a lot of underclassmen. Obviously, they are talented, but probably lacking in some experience. Maybe that helps UH. Chow knows the USC personnel very well. If I was Kiffin he better pray that Matt Barkley doesn’t get hurt early in the game. If that happens it’s a totally different team and a totally different complextion to the game. You don’t wish for people to get injured, but one key person, a front runner for the Heisman changes the dynamic in a heart beat. You never know what’s going to happen just before or even during the game. Football is a tough game and injuries are part of the game. For me, as a UH fan, I can only hope that UH gets a lot of breaks (no pun intended). Hehe! Chow’s hope is to be competitive and be close at the end of the 1st half. He will have some surprises under his sleeve and he’s a smart play caller. He will call a play that you never expect in a certain situation and it works. The so called experts has USC at -40 or 40 1/2. Yeah, and the experts thought Michigan to beat Appalachian State at home either and look at what happened. That’s why they play the game, you cannot win it on paper.
Nice volleyball game last night. UH showed me something after the first set. I liked their spunk. Uiato, Hartong, and Croson have all improved over last season. I will say that Longo after just one weekend that I watched is the best libero in UH history and is a first team All-American. She is just tremendous and makes amazing plays. The one surprise is Jade Vorster. She will only get better. I like her efficiency. Would like to see her block more. Right side hitters needs to step up. Manu-Olevao probably slated to redshirt. I’m still waiting for a 6-5, 6-6 middle blocker with athleticism that Shoji can recruit.
Hey KK….Just sent you an e-mail…
al….Nah, that was the Damien victory I smelled in the air this weekend….Woo Hoo…. Something to celebrate…. 🙂
Am I the only one who thinks Monica Stauber may just be better than Uiato? Her sets are amazing
It is really a nice and useful piece of information. I am satisfied that you just shared this helpful information with us. Please stay us informed like this. Thank you for sharing.
Oops! Photos from last year’s Pigskin Pigout were uploaded into the gallery for this year’s event. This year’s photos are now uploaded.

Emily Hartong earns first Big West honors
http://www.hawaiiathletics.com/news/2012/8/27/WVB_0827120743.aspx?path=wvball
Congrats to Emily Hartong!…. I’m glad they are playing in the Big West this season. They will be much better prepared for the post season playing against Big West competition over WAC competition.
100!!!!!!!!!!!!
The so called “experts” don’t even have Schroeder as the starting quarterback. Another reason we will shock ’em.
gp…maybe. the only one that is.
hartong, longo, and croson all could have won that award.
vorster did surprise.
goodman did good in the end.
kastl got some steam, may take awhile to get used to the right side in her case.
!!!!!
shoji again proved his game management savvy.
and the wahine defense once again showed how a smaller, quicker, smarter team can show up.
Not taking away from Uiato, but I cannot argue nor will I deny anyone that wants to see more of Stauber.
Just saying. :coo:
Backlinks create a well established origin of high quality traffic coming to your blog.
Won puka ate!
Where are my season tickets! Danggit! 👿
Stauber is very good too, but there’s a reason why Uiato is the starter. Heck, I trust Shoji so he know’s best because he see’s they every day in practice. Taylor Higgins (setter at Punahou) has already comitted to the Wahine for the future and Uiato and Stauber are in the same class so Stauber can still take a redshirt year. But, we have to have 2 good setters just in case the starter gets hurt if has happened in the past. When was the last time we had a left handed hitter. The only one I can think of is Yuval Katz and he was just the best. I still think Katz is the best UH men’s volleyball player, AT UH. Maybe Clay Stanley is the better player right now based on his USA National Team play and Olympic Gold in 2008. Talking about the UH men’s volleyball I just cannot get excited right now ever since Umlauft left. We need another dynamic player to come along to put people in the stands. We need STARS. Who is going to be the STAR(S) for Gib Arnold? Arnold has some nice talent, but putting together a cohesive team is his challenge. PG is the key. Man, I wish we had Shamburger this year playing.
Y para los que hablan español UH los aficionados, el juego estará en Fox Deportes.
No tweets from Na Koa lunch….fund mus be guud!
Way to go Wahine.
Volleybows moved up to 6th place in the polls.
Tiana Fujimoto is the Big West Soccer Player of the Week.
D-1 ~
TellMa called. You on a parts run tomorrow?
Erase, erase. I mis-remember! Just checked, Uiato is a Jr. and Stauber is a Sophomore. Emily Maeda is the only Senior on the team so the Wahine should be loaded next year.
For men’s BB the 3 seniors are Vander, Hauns, and Jace.
I don’t know why everyone talks about shocking the world this Saturday. It isn’t shocking if you expect to win. Warriors need to expect to win. If every player does it right, and gives 100% effort, then good things will happen.
Remember Hawaii playing USC real close for three quarters in 1978. Hawaii eventually lost to USC bythe score of 21 to 5. USC went on to beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl to finish off the season as Co-National Champions. Alabama ended up #1 in the AP Poll and USC was #1 in the UPI poll.
SC had an awesome team that year with thirty-five players eventually making it onto NFL rosters.

Dolphins OC comments on Davone Bess:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/mia/report#notes_quotes
Most impressive part of the game last night was the defense in last 3 games. Longo is Money. Steady tough serve, pass and flew around digging everything up. Right side needs to step up to compete with top teams. Voice little raspy today. Stanley was rockin. Nothing like being there. Go Bows, Go Warriors, your turn Saturday. Respect everyone but fear no one.
Inyoface:
And, maybe, they’ll think Schroeder is right-handed.
Did I mention I am off on Tuesday?
#117 kifi….I was at the game as a very young kid. I remember Jeff Duva was wide open on a pass that would have scored a TD, I think it was early in the 4th, that would have made it 14 – 12 (with the extra point) but I think he dropped the pass.
POMAI!!!!
Aloha,
1. A-House I have 8 coupons for you. Zip Code??
2. Also a Big Mahalo to PolyMom and Pepe who sent over 8 boxes for the Pigskin Pigout. I know there were bottles of Bernheim Whiskey in there as I could hear the slosh (ok so I shook the boxes a bit)
3. Road Game Flights Boeing 737 with a single aisle HNL to Knoxville via Saint Louis. I had the middle seat between Paul Lee and John Shroyer. I got off the plane looking like Flat Stanley.
Tom K see you in LA at Home in Lahaina Friday night.
74-3 USC…
Nice way to debut into the Big West and take two Athlete of the Week honors… WTG… Hartong and Fujimoto!!!….
Go Warriors. Go Coach. Rip sum. 😀
JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
88-7 Hawaii and I’m sticking with it.
How’s that for koolaid. lol
Again, congrats to the soccerbows for winning in double OT. Game should not have gone on past regulation. Lots of opportunities but weren’t capitalized. Got to love Lydia Battaglia (#4). A true freshman playing one of the sweeper position.
Also, congrats to the volleybows. Alot of people doubted (on other forums including Ma’a and Tsuji) whether they would be able to compete against Stanford last night.
Very nice post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wished to mention that I’ve really enjoyed browsing your weblog posts. In any case I’ll be subscribing for your feed and I’m hoping you write again very soon!
GAMEDAY set for Hawaii any maybe?
Or depends on this weeks win cheehoo!!
17-14 us….
If the Warriors pull of an upset.. will the State be ready with a parade? 😉 If they win, they should schedule a meet and greet at the stadium when they return.
Kifi ~ Different decade. Better, stronger, smarter Warriors. Seasoned coach. Never give up attitude.
USC…pffft! Lame coach that lost his way to the top.

“They” have to do a feasibility study of an EIS reflecting the impact of a large gathering at a single location on the local infrastructure including but not limited to the total number of available off-duty HPD officers who want to earn additional pay while watching the festivities, providing sufficient time for the UHM PR folks and administration to create and establish their stories and subsequent lies regarding the reasons (each conflicting) for the possible last minute cancellation or poor execution and planning of the celebration, the creation of a $200,000+ administrative position (possibly more) at UHM without a title or responsibilities for as yet unidentified scapegoat or scapegoats, . . .
Of course if the feasibility study proves to be acceptable the creation of the position, a minimum two week posting and an international search for the position is mandatory, and a 198 member committee will be formed — made up of non-interested community college students, UHM administration, legislators, NAIA coaches, and at least one (1) student from grades K-12.
Expect, though, law suits questioning the validity and need for a celebration, and whether or not the gathering site is over any actual historical site of any kind (real or imaginary).
The budget will probably exceed the $158.98 the athletic department can scrape together so a special tax of some sort will have to be passed at the next legislative session. Of course, there will be several suits and calls for all kinds of things.
Ultimately, the celebration will be scheduled sometime in 490 months if things go just right.
Go Warriors!
See? There is one of those complainers already.
WHY?…baddah you? Win or lose we back our Warriors. Why would anyone want to disrespect their home team by saying they will get “mudered?” Ok..maybe you are not from here. That must be it.

I forgot.. is somebody opens the gates for any of the players and isn’t on a payroll at the time… it could be an NCAA infraction. Better forget about the whole thing…

nice.
i’m out of country finding football is a miracle. My only option is of someone streams a game on the Internet.
I wasn’t talking about (Jesse) James or Shoko.
You can lol because you say funny stuff.
Look, I am a realist, new team, new coach, new system, etc. etc. etc. But I always expect to win and put the effort into winning. If you don’t expect to win and play like you intend to win, than why play at all???
As long as we don’t roll over and give up…and fight to the end, I consider that a big first step and shows a lot about the character of the team.
Sure doesn’t sound like USC has much of a QB backup if they can’t make up their mind. If Barkley gets hit HARD and comes limping off the field, I sure hope the camera guys pan over to Kiffin. Never seen a head coach cry on national TV before…l
Oops, almost did the “lol” mistake.
At this stage of the new era under Coach, I am not so driven by the score or outcome. I am most interested in the “fight”; how our young men perform under a new system in what could be an unfair arena; given the newness to a system still somewhat foreign.
There is a scene in the movie the Last Samurai where the Tom Cruise character is pushed to fight against an experienced swordsman, he (TC character) not fully versed in the art at the time. He gets a tremendous beating , but he simply won’t give up. Even when he knows he cannot win, he still gives his best shot at “participating” in the battle.
If Our Warriors can do that, I can still be proud of the fact that they never gave up in a battle, even when they were not at their best with the equipment.
If you watched the movie, the TC character makes it a point to learn the art of the sword and battles his one time opponent to a draw. Again, hopefully in time and with guidance and practice our young Warriors will master the way of the “Chow philosophy” and they too would be able to stand up to any opponent.
I am certain the Coach is looking for character in his Warriors. If that is what we have and will have, we can be proud of their participation in the 4 quarter battle.
kekoa chillax i am from here im just telling you the truth and i guess you don’t wanna hear the truth.
I mean, look at Damien. 1 and 29 over the last three seasons. Eddie Klaneski (DMHS c/o 93) is in his second year as HC and has changed the philosophy and attitude of the players. There is still a long way to go but he has those young men headed in the right direction. They’ve had a good start so far and it looks like their season will be a good one. It has a lot to do with their attitude and work ethic.

BHF2 – u going to SC game? You the one with Tutu hat at Vegas 3 yrs ago ?
Did anyone know why the time stamp is off by 30 mins?
#255 Hawaiian time, always been that way.
If UH beat USC it would be the greatest upset in college football history, period, led by a first year Head Coach who is Chinese American. Wouldn’t that be something!!! Well, probably that’s not going to happen, but yeah I was at that game at Aloha Stadium when UH lost of USC 21-5. The then “Rainbow Warriors” played a great game and I remember when UH could have taken the lead in the late 3rd Qtr or early 4th Qtr when a halfback pass to QB Jeff Duva (who was all by his lonesome on the left sideline going towards the Ewa endzone) was slightly overthrown. Dick Tomey could have made history that day, but it showed me that Hawaii was ready to play and played with a lot of heart. Plus, USC obviously took Hawaii very lightly and Head Coach John Robinson didn’t work his players very hard in practice that week if anything and the Hawaii trip was more like a vacation and rest and relaxation for them that week. Maybe USC this week will take Hawaii lightly, but Lane Kiffen knows Norm Chow so then again he might not. But after a comfortable lead, Kiffen will take out Barkley to make sure he doesn’t get hurt and give his backup(s) some reps. I do like the generious 40 to 40 1/2 points though and maybe the Warriors will get a back door cover. But, who knows!
#211,
We will probably beat them by 4 TD’s.

Anyone know if the new Five-0 episodes have started yet?

Inyoface, I’ll be in Vegas, but leave for 2 days in Mesquite on the morning of the game. I will watch it in a condo with my pupu and drinks and in-laws. On Monday, I will return to Vegas to collect.

There’s only a few athletic 6-5, 6-6 athletes playing D1 women’s volleyball at any given year. And when a prep that tall with athleticism and good volleyball skills ends up in PrepVolleyball Senior Ace Top 10, 99.9% of the time they end up signing with a BCS program—usually a perennial powerhouse, i.e. Stanford, USC, California, Washington, Texas, Nebraska, Penn State, etc. LOL Hawaii-a perennial top-ten program-is in that class, but stuck 2,500 miles from the West Coast, getting to “wine and dine” the parents, especially MOM, rarley or most likely never happen for Hawaii’s coaching staff.
The wahine has one recruit in the top ten in #7 Jane Croson; whereas, Stanford have Carly Wopat #4, Rachel Williams #3, Jessica Walker #10, Inky Ajanaku, #2, Carrisa Cook, #25, Brittany Howard #12, Hayley Spelman #3, Jordan Burgess #3.
Last year’s 6-4 or taller Senior Aces all signed with BCS programs: #2 Ajanaku 6-4 MB (Stanford); #9 Sara Hattis 6-4 MB (clueless who she signed with): #15 Sarah Burrington 6-5 MB (Florida State); #17 Melanie Wade 6-5 RS/MB (California); #29 Annie Drews 6-4 RS (Purdue); #55 Kierra Hoist 6-4 MB (Oklahoma); #58 Krystalyn Goode 6-4 MB (Pepperdine); #60 Christina Vucich 6-4 RS/S (Duke); #66 Kaira Lujan 6-4 MB (Ohio State); #76 Madeline Mayers 6-4 MB (Illinois); #78 Andrea Kacsits 6-4 MB (Ohio State); #85 Jackie Kocken 6-5 MB (Marquette); #92 Katelyn Driscoll 6 -4 OH (Colorado)
But, you know what Vorster at 6-4 and Adolpho at 6-1 more than held their own against Stanford’s hitters. Last night they didn’t put down many blocks (After 3 match both are averaging 1.0 blk/set), but they had a lot of touches-which doesn’t show up in the stats-allowing Longa, Maeda , Uiato, Hartong and Croson to dig/pass, giving the wahine the opportunity to transition quickly to offense.
I looking for one partay, I no like cruise wit USC scrub fans. I heard the Orleans might be one good spot or someting ladat.

Oops! Pepperdine is not a BCS program.

Inyoface,
Orleans is a Boyd property so you’d think get plenny (808) folks but first and foremost, it’s a “locals” property with a lot of “LA-minded” folks at the bars watching football. At least, that’s the way it was when I was there one weekend last season.
Prolly Triple 7 pub at Main Street would be more “fan-friendly” for a Hawaii fan.
Posted this morning:
BTW – what has happened to Alex Dunnachie? I know he worked out with the team and I read about his legal issues; however, what is his playing status? We need him and he needs to play if he has any chance of impressing pro teams.
Finally, whatever happened to Colt Brennan? Is he back in California with his family? What is happening to him legally? Has he gone into a residential treatment facility like Hina Mauka? Way, way back in the day, DrDoc and I were very much involved in helping Hina Mauka find its first serious public funding because of our personal & political connections to its first executive director
In all honesty, all signs point to a UH loss. I feel this way too. I just want us to go up there and do some good things. Don’t get embarrassed — like we’ve done in the past on national tv. Don’t be getting lit up and making some USC players highlight real that night on sportscenter. Well, that might happen. But then again. Receivers and tight ends — catch the ball and more importantly, HOLD ON to the ball. Turnovers and stupid “UH” mistakes will get us buried. Long time fans know what I mean by “UH” mistakes. I’m ready to see just how the Norm Chow era has affected this particular facet of the game. The discipline part. If all is well, those “UH” mistakes should rarely show itself right? And let us not forget, the last time we played USC, they won –BUT, we lit their asses up. Granted, it was at home, and it wasn’t this USC team. And we got a new team too. With that said, I’m pretty sure the Trojans got this. The UH fan in me just don’t want to believe that they will cover.
BIK
One game does not make a season. I know that the casual followers may come out of the woodwork saying UH is “junk” and what have you in the event of a blowout, but don’t forget what happened in the 99 season. There are some 60-plus high school All Americans on the USC roster, but it still comes down to to who can block and tackle best. Go out and play hard, play smart, play with intensity, leave everything on the field, and have fun out there.
UH could very well be a good team even in the event of a blowout to USC. I’m looking forward to the progression as the season goes on and doing well against our conference mates.
here’s this season’s schedule of schedules to keep track of not only UH, but how our other opponents are doing. i’ll update it weekly. you can either check here or on SH.

Hope for
…a solid performance in all 3 phases
…a few lucky breaks
…honest refs on national TV
Yup, still gotta play the game.
I’m waiting. 🙂
Well said BIK. I’m convinced they will do their best. If they reach down deep for that inner strength I think they can pull it off. Not just beat the spread, but take the win away from Lame K.
Al and all the usual suspects ~ See you at Ma’s.

SteveM – you starting to sound like Kifi. 😀
One thing I would really like to touch upon is that fat burning plan fast may be possible by the correct diet and exercise. A person’s size not just affects the look, but also the quality of life. Self-esteem, depression, health risks, plus physical abilities are influenced in extra weight. It is possible to just make everything right whilst still having a gain. Should this happen, a condition may be the perpetrator. While too much food rather than enough physical exercise are usually guilty, common medical conditions and key prescriptions may greatly add to size. Many thanks for your post in this article.
Excellent way of describing, and nice piece of writing to take facts regarding my presentation focus, which i am going to convey in institution of higher education.
greenthumb . . . no need to call Zane a Fukuoka! We should be happy for him.
kidding of course. thanks for the update.
How is it that just anyone can write a weblog and get as popular as this? Its not like youve said anything incredibly impressive more like youve painted a quite picture above an issue that you know nothing about! I dont want to sound mean, here. Any chance you can help Ron Fields?
I telll you… somethings screwed up with San Mateo Admin. Three times already I’ve heard this same sob story…
You know, I see lots of comments about the rail talking about how Hawaii will look like the mainland if the rail goes up. Does sound like the arguments pre-H3. (Can’t tell me all those anti-H3 people absolutely DO NOT use that freeway, now that it’s up!) Out of all of the places I’ve been to, I can only remember a couple of places where I actually saw a (people-moving) rail system here on the mainland. On the other hand, I’ve experienced efficient rail systems nearly everywhere I’ve been to overseas. And I mean EFFICIENT! And truthfully, once it’s up, you don’t really pay much attention to it, since most lines follow established roadways anyways. It’s not like they’re gonna run track right along Waikiki Beach!
I think many that are anti-rail are just parroting the talking heads, with little to no real life experience in usage of such a system. Ground traffic will only get worse in the future. We gotta lay the groundwork now, and branch out in an orderly manner. And security must be a major concern. Once these things are up, newer shopping centers will have to be developed along the line, to make for greater convenience. I can see established shopping centers running “free” shuttles between said shopping center and the nearest rail station/stop. This should also help with smaller grocery trips, etc. We’ll see…
We pay over $8 per day in gas alone, just commuting to and from work. Every time “something” happens around the world, or in the Gulf, prices jump. Can’t wait to move back home, but not looking forward to higher prices for everything. Gotta sacrifice somewhere, though.
Shucks, I got drawn in. Didn’t want to get into any political discussions, especially so close to the start of the season.
Ok, just ignore what I wrote. Dang it!
I still love you guys that don’t want the rail to go up. Just posted my observation, and shouldn’t have.
My 23rd anniversary today, and got carried away… hahaha!
Good Morning All!
Season starts in 4…
Coach Chow & Warriors will be all business Saturday. I’m gonna do my part, wear the colors, scream cheer, chant, sing, and wave my tI leaf. Win or lose I know that the Warriors will give it ALL up on the battlefield Saturday, and so will I in front of a large screened TV with other like minded Warriors fans!
If you expect to achieve in something–anything–you must first SEE it in your mind. Battles are won there first and foremost…In the mind! Coach Chow is methodical for a reason! He is going over every detail with the team as a conductor does in rehearsal with his orchestra. Every note, timing, and beat reviewed and practiced. No surprises, just react, just play! It will be the performance opportunity of a lifetime! A grand stage with a huge audience! No panic! Just focus on the Maestro and play on!
Looking forward to Saturday! Safe travel to the team and may you return injury free and victorious!
Go Warriors!
WW ~ So, like we used to say, “no guts…no glory!” Den you rally da team and give ’em all you get! Winners can overcome impossible odds in pursuit of championships.
When you have a team that plays together, anything is possible. This team understands coach Chow’s philosophy now. We fans have to add our support to complete the meaning.
“Together, We can do this.” -Coach Chow.
Good Tuesday!
Gosh, mo and Kekoa are up early. day well along for WW.
Good morning, guys!
WW, Happy 23rd Anniversary!

Bhf2 and da 2nd shift is here. I going back sleep. I gotta hard days luncheon to attend that Sensei Al is presiding ovah.
After solving da UH admin crisis, and straightening da crooked rail job…we’ll craft a plan to totally confound the ToeJams.
Hi BHF2!
Just read this morning paper and took note of this quote from Coach Chow:
..”We told our guys: ‘You can’t win the game after the first (quarter). You can’t win the game after the second. You can’t win the game after the third. You can only win after the fourth quarter. We’re going to fight them until the end. If we do that, we’re going to accept whatever consequences come up after that”…
Fight them till the end! That’s gonna be a fight to the finish! GO WARRIORS!
Okay, I’m hitting the snooze button…latah’s den!
I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s a
very easy on the eyes which makes it much
more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often.
Did you hire out a developer to create your theme?
Fantastic work!
Re: Abe’s schollie.
I believe Lame used and abused dat kid on the Oline. I told Barry he used him as a practice dummy to turn his defensive line loose on. Thus saving his starters from getting hurt. Abe is tuff, but like the past few years, it took it’s toll on his body. Then, he holds his schollie until Sunday. Whaddah guy!
No fogit…Abe is their ace shot putter & discus man at the same time on the SC track tream.
Nice feature on Coach Chow in today’s LA Times!

Good to see Garret again too!
At this time I am going to do my breakfast, later
than having my breakfast coming again to read further news.
Garrett,
Thanks for the link. Very good read…
This is exactly what I have been looking for all the time. Don’t stop updating this web site.
I found this cool post here, thank you…
This is a comment to the admin. I came to your “The Warrior Beat | Got StubHub? | UH football, University of Hawaii athletics | staradvertiser.com | Honolulu, Hawaii” page via Google but it was hard to find as you were not on the front page of search results. I see you could have more visitors because there are not many comments on your website yet. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your rankings and traffic to your website: http://aerotraffic.com/web-traffic/. I managed to get close to 1000 visitors/day using their services, you could also get lot more targeted visitors than you have now. I used their services and got significantly more visitors to my website. Hope this helps 🙂 Take care.
