Game day: UNLV; Tulsa to Hawaii Bowl

It’s the regular-season finale when UH meets UNLV tonight at Aloha Stadium.

UH is announcing 28 seniors, which might be a high or low total, depending on NCAA petitions.

And Tulsa has accepted a bid to play UH in the Hawaii Bowl.

  14. haawarrior December 4, 2010 9:44 am

I’m torn. Don’t like cheering for Nevada because don’t want to share WAC Champion with that constipated coach but in the big picture better for Hawaii if they win.

SMU loses in the C-USA Championship game. JJ’s QB holds on to the ball way too long. Takes WAY too many sacks.

  26. SteveM December 4, 2010 9:59 am

If SMU lost and is not CUSA champions, does that increase the chance they may come to the Hawaii Bowl? … or is that a dead issue?

ST — the cable TV services may be working but the ethernet portion may be down/flakey. The ethernet-over-cable is what connects to the internet.

about half of the recruits come from these islands and the other half come from the bigger island. some say a dozen will be on trips.

hopefully, they all enjoy the program and form a bond between them all.

some say we could get 75% of these fine young men. that would be great stuff. in the end, this will be another great recruit class.

    For what it’s worth:

On Thursday, driving from town to the windwardside, i spoch a brilliant rainbow stretching the width of Nuuanu Valley.

As I drive deeper into the valley, the rainbow lowers itself to the top of all the trees and finally disappears into the forest.

Is this an “omen” of good things to happen for the Warriors today? OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. gigi-hawaii December 4, 2010 10:11 am

I posted your pics on my blog today. Remembering good times!

  39. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 10:15 am

  45. A-House December 4, 2010 10:21 am

With the graduation of so many seniors, how will this affect the number of scholarships available for 2011 class? Some are already reserved for the “gray-shirts” ( see NCAA, I wen use the American way of spelling) and several others who will seek medical red-shirt status.

Do realize that not all the seniors are on scholarship – but 5 are already graduates and that should “open” up al least 5 more scholarships. Is this correct?

  46. sports for fun December 4, 2010 10:25 am

aside from the ones already committed…today’s group is the first wave of the first tier of recruits. surely, there were some whom we covet that couldn’t make the trip today.

on a trip, it is both student/athlete and the host college that are being “interviewed”. both need to make impressions.

for example, a year or two ago there was a top rated rb who came in for an official. he did not impress the staff nor the players in manoa. (oh yah, current player evaluations are considered.) As a result of this he was never offered. He turned around and basically declared to his “home boys” that hawaii sucked, when in fact, he was never offered. (oh yah, he played against us last week.)

Following the last weekend’s season-ending 59-24 loss to the University of Hawaii, Walker talked about how the resources the Aggies have do not match those of their competition. Walker spoke about a lack of strength and conditioning coaches within the program, the need for an expanded recruiting budget and added academic support.

“I think this project we have football-wise is bigger than me,” Walker said following Saturday’s game. “Hopefully we can sit down collectively and really find out the best plan. I think now is when you start. I look at this as really my first year. To me, I think we start right now. And I think we have to put a pretty detailed plan together on how we approach this thing….From the top on down.”

    Bball update…

    BYU 78

    UH 57

UH 18 of 22 on free throws

    FINAL

  129. 99club December 4, 2010 3:08 pm

Tulsa vs Hawaii is going to be an entertaining game. The best part about it is that we are pretty sure that neither will have to forfeit the game down the road due to an ineligible player.

The same can’t be said for the SEC and BcS Championship games. As indicated int the NCAA’s student-athlete reinstatement staff statement concerning Cam Newton:

“Reinstatement decisions are independent of the NCAA enforcement process and typically are made once the facts of the student-athlete’s involvement are determined. The reinstatement process is likely to conclude prior to the close of an investigation.”

Translation: The reinstatement process is pau. The investigation/NCAA enforcement process is not. It’s absolutely amazing how most of the national media are avoiding any mention that Auburn’s wins will be ruled as forfeits in the future, as they most assuredly will be. I love watching Cam Newton play, but his Dad has ‘fessed up to shopping him to at least MS State and that’s all the NCAA needs. After the bowl cash is distributed, the NCAA “enforcement process” as noted above will eventually come down with the hammer on Auburn. Auburn fans only need to look at USC to see their future.

  130. papajoe2 December 4, 2010 3:20 pm

#130 99club, nice try, but I have a feeling Auburn gets a slap on the wrists. I thought that family members couldn’t except anything. Since the minister father admitted he shopped his son around, he should have been ruled inelijible now but…….

  131. 99club December 4, 2010 3:24 pm

…they need to allow the SEC into the BcS championship for the time being.

  132. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 3:24 pm

    papajoe2..

    Cam’s father is a minister…? LMAO!

  133. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 3:25 pm

Simply reminds me again as to why I started my own religion of one.

  134. 99club December 4, 2010 3:30 pm

    papajoe2-

my apologies for seeming to continue your #131 with my #132, but that’s what appears to be what’s going on. Guess we’re all in wait and see mode as to what the final punishment will be.

  135. 99club December 4, 2010 3:32 pm

This Dr. Pepper Championship game is exciting.

  136. 99club December 4, 2010 3:36 pm

For the tailgaters at Richardson Field: remember, a spilled beer caused by offense is no play and loss of down.

  137. papajoe2 December 4, 2010 3:49 pm

99club. If NCAA got balls, can you say USC?

  138. Toby Ripp December 4, 2010 4:11 pm

Boy Oregan is looking great this year. I cannot wait for the national championship game. Go Oregan!

  139. sports for fun December 4, 2010 4:13 pm

    It’ll be Oregon’s speed versus Auburn’s might.

  140. sports for fun December 4, 2010 4:14 pm

I think it’ll be a shootout for the National Championship. I don’t see how either team can rattle the other’s quarterback.

  141. 99club December 4, 2010 4:19 pm

    papajoe2-

    exactly!

  142. wafan December 4, 2010 5:10 pm

They added rails in Aloha. Doesn’t look complete. Orange sidelines and some in the end zone. Also the Yellow.

    Must be your constant suggestions.

  146. Shoko December 4, 2010 5:24 pm

    Aloha Warrior fans!

Just read that Nevada accepted the Kraft Mac N Cheese Bowl and Boise State is predicted to face the Utes in the Maaco Bowl in Vegas. Sounds like a good matchup.

    Go Warriors!

  147. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:25 pm

A video of B.J. Penn was used to introduce the Warriors.

  148. oldie December 4, 2010 5:25 pm

    Hmm…

Missed the San Jose game. Were the rails here then?

    Anyway, Go Warriors!!!

  149. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:26 pm

Scott Enos is the game captain.

  150. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:26 pm

  157. Matt December 4, 2010 5:38 pm

I wanna see a lot of scoring by the Warrior offense and a stingy Warrior defense so all of the seniors get some playing time.

  158. Matt December 4, 2010 5:42 pm

    Stuzmann in.

  159. Matt December 4, 2010 5:43 pm

Is that UNLV defender wearing a beret?

  160. Matt December 4, 2010 5:43 pm

    TD Pollard. what a catch!!!

  161. Shoko December 4, 2010 5:43 pm

  162. Shoko December 4, 2010 5:44 pm

    What a catch!

  163. Matt December 4, 2010 5:44 pm

Enos extends his record. Good start Warriors.

  164. Matt December 4, 2010 5:45 pm

Hope Bradley isn’t hurt. This is his senior night.

  165. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:46 pm

Ok, that was the catch of the year by Pollard.

  166. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:46 pm

Bradley didn’t look good on the screen. Went down fast.

  167. Matt December 4, 2010 5:47 pm

    Nice kickoff coverage.

  168. Matt December 4, 2010 5:49 pm

Wow. Enos does have a leg. Why doesn’t he kick like that all of the time?

  169. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:49 pm

John Veneri came up with the B.J. Penn video.

  170. Matt December 4, 2010 5:51 pm

    TD UNLV.

  171. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:52 pm

    Vegas has fast receivers.

  172. Shoko December 4, 2010 5:52 pm

Hmmm, this might turn out to be a good game. Hawaii favored by 30 points?

  173. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:54 pm

    Nice-sized crowd.

  174. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:54 pm

    35 points.

  175. Matt December 4, 2010 5:55 pm

    What’s the estimated turnstile count?

  176. Matt December 4, 2010 5:57 pm

    Bradley back in the game?

  177. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 5:57 pm

    Game on!

  178. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:58 pm

I think the UNLV safety just realized how solidly built Pilares is.

  179. Matt December 4, 2010 5:58 pm

    Yup. Bradley is back in.

  180. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 5:58 pm

Looks like high 30s. I’m sure UH will announce 40 plus

  181. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:00 pm

Lois Manin, now working for Aloha Stadium, raises her arms signaling TD. T

Then again, she doesn’t get a say.

  182. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:00 pm

And she doesn’t. Original call stands. No. TD.

  183. Matt December 4, 2010 6:01 pm

    TD Moniz!!!

  184. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:02 pm

    Man, that was sweet!

  185. Matt December 4, 2010 6:05 pm

Alright now Defense. Time to punish those Rebels for their last series. Hard hits are how Warriors say what’s up.

  186. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:05 pm

    Warrior D-line is looking good.

  187. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:06 pm

  189. Matt December 4, 2010 6:07 pm

Come on offense. Time to get Salas involved.

  190. Matt December 4, 2010 6:09 pm

six more catches until Salas has the single season record.

  191. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:10 pm

End of first quarter: UH 14, UNLV 7.

  192. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:10 pm

UCON beats South Florida and becomes BE champs with 8-4 record. Sad.

  193. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:10 pm

Salas needs 80 something yards to pass Blackmon.

  194. NYUH December 4, 2010 6:12 pm

Love to see Hawaii play Uconn. Got them on the HDTV while ESPN3 plays the UH video and listening to Bobby and Robert.

    Last game. boo hoo.

  195. Matt December 4, 2010 6:15 pm

Let’s get AG a 100 yd game for senior night Rolo. I’d like to see 100 yard games for Salas, Pilares, and Bradley as well. Is that too much to ask?

  196. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:17 pm

Pilares is looking mighty fine tonight!

  197. Matt December 4, 2010 6:18 pm

I think the ball crossed the plane.

  198. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:19 pm

Think he was already down and then he made the reach.

  199. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:20 pm

Replay looked like it didn’t, like to see the go format tho.

  200. Matt December 4, 2010 6:21 pm

Bring in the jumbo set. Use LaCount as a fullback.

  201. Matt December 4, 2010 6:21 pm

    TD Moniz

  202. Matt December 4, 2010 6:22 pm

  204. Matt December 4, 2010 6:30 pm

    Great stop Defense.

  205. Matt December 4, 2010 6:32 pm

Nice run after the catch Pilares.

  206. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:32 pm

What a move by Pilares. Shake and bake.

  207. Matt December 4, 2010 6:33 pm

Pilares 100 yard game, check. Now Salas and Bradley need to get theirs.

  208. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:34 pm

    Dang!

  209. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:35 pm

    Exciting play all night long!

  210. Matt December 4, 2010 6:37 pm

Enos has had a good season this year. Better than 80% on FGs and perfect on XPs.

  211. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:38 pm

    Enos 25 field goal.

You’re halfway there if you took the “over.”

  212. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:38 pm

    Enos is rockin tonight too!

  213. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:38 pm

Remember we thought Kelly had a good season in 08? He only hit 50 percent.

  214. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:39 pm

    Enos’ parents are in town.

  215. Matt December 4, 2010 6:40 pm

    Mr. Green wen Katooosh’d UNLV

  219. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:43 pm

Alex Green on the belly play.

  220. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:44 pm

Nice INT by Torres and a Green finish. Is it me or are the Rebels tempers flaring? Already saw five pushes after the play.

  221. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:48 pm

    Play clock malfunction. 🙂

  222. Matt December 4, 2010 6:49 pm

Come on defense. We need to keep up our streak of multiple INT games.

  223. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 6:51 pm

UH is 5 for 5 on drives.

  224. duffer December 4, 2010 6:51 pm

  225. Matt December 4, 2010 6:53 pm

    Nice run Mo.

  226. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 6:54 pm

    Lovin the pump fakes!

    Go Warriors!

  227. Matt December 4, 2010 6:55 pm

I guess it won’t be six for six as Alex comes in.

  228. Shoko December 4, 2010 6:56 pm

    Nice!

  229. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 6:56 pm

    ST just jinxed the drive!

    Great job Ingram!

  230. Matt December 4, 2010 6:57 pm

Call TO Mack. Let’s get the ball back.

  231. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 6:57 pm

Awesome ST play Dunnachie, Ingram and Estes!

  232. LizKauai -iPad December 4, 2010 7:03 pm

    31-7 nice halftime score!

  233. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 7:07 pm

    Anybody see any recruits?

  234. Matt December 4, 2010 7:08 pm

Would have been 38-7 if ST didn’t jinx em. 😉

  235. Hank December 4, 2010 7:11 pm

True freshman Kamilah Jackson had 18 points and 18 rebounds tonight in the Wahine tough 61-66 loss to Portland.

  236. Old Diver December 4, 2010 7:17 pm

Sure glad I brought my jacket tonight.

  237. Matt December 4, 2010 7:20 pm

Salas is 5 catches away from tying Davone Bess for most receptions in a season. Looks like Bess’ career reception record of 293 is safe. Salas currently at 269 for his career. Salas is currently at 1593 yards for the season. Lelie’s 1713 is within reach. Ashley is going to hide Salas’ helmet :D.

  238. HawaiiMongoose December 4, 2010 7:22 pm

The Salt Lake Tribune says Hawaii’s football-only MWC invitation will come this week:

  239. sports for fun December 4, 2010 7:22 pm

WOW!! For a freshman, Kamilah Jackson is a beast for Na Wahine!!

  240. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 7:30 pm

Does this seem like a slow game?

  241. duffer December 4, 2010 7:31 pm

Yep Jackson’s a player. Shawna-Lei had a bad shooting night. She’ll be ok. Arbuckle had a double double. Gotta work on FT’s & TO’s

  242. Matt December 4, 2010 7:31 pm

Woo hoo. Another multiple INT game.

  243. Stephen Tsai December 4, 2010 7:34 pm

Good footwork by the cameraman to stay on the platform.

  244. Matt December 4, 2010 7:36 pm

Come on offense. Gotta put it away early so the seniors can get some extra playing time.

  245. Matt December 4, 2010 7:38 pm

    TD Greg Salas!!!

  246. duffer December 4, 2010 7:41 pm

Monico is a beast on st.

  247. Matt December 4, 2010 7:41 pm

Come on Defense. Get the ball back for the offense. Salas has work to do to catch Bess and Lelie.

  248. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 7:42 pm

Aloha, Everybody! Been quietly watching and enjoying tonight’s game. Jordan Monico with another kickoff tackle.

Another Rebel down… someone say strength and conditioning?

  249. Matt December 4, 2010 7:44 pm

    That looked like it hurt.

  250. Cecil Ferdinand December 4, 2010 7:44 pm

I like this commentary, you know I was reading a number of other related articles out there from some folks who really don’t grasp what they are talking about. Have you ever seen how many people think they are an authority on a topic when they aren’t? I sure hope you continue to create. Hey what is your rss URL so I can keep up to date with you?

  251. Martin Wardlaw December 4, 2010 7:44 pm

I would like to grasp more about how you can utilize this to make money online. It looks like a lot of the material about making money and capitalizing on these sorts of ideas is so basic that everybody is doing it, and really the only people making money from it are individuals advertising the information. Can you do a blog post about how you use this to truly make money?

  252. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 7:45 pm

Warriors hitting hard tonight… Monico … excellent wrap up… It’s like a full contact scrimmage before the bowl game.

  253. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 7:45 pm

Another Rebel down again… did they travel with enough replacements? Man…

  254. Matt December 4, 2010 7:49 pm

Salas is a fair catching machine. Would like to see him return a few.

  255. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 7:50 pm

whoops! … seems like at least half of Moniz’s interceptions have been off deflections.

  256. Matt December 4, 2010 7:50 pm

INT!!! INT!!! INT!!! Silva sets the record.

  257. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 7:51 pm

Mana Leads the nation, and now, our defense has the most int’s so far this year!

  258. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 7:51 pm

    Silva baby!

  259. Matt December 4, 2010 7:51 pm

Go back to Salas and let him make up for the last one.

  260. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 7:52 pm

I hate those long throws, it’s always overthrown! Kind of a wasted play!

  261. Matt December 4, 2010 7:52 pm

AG must be getting close to his 100 yards.

  262. Matt December 4, 2010 7:53 pm

and AG goes over the 100 yard mark. Time to get Chizzy some yards.

  263. Matt December 4, 2010 7:54 pm

Moniz could have walked in. Bad decision. Got lucky that wasn’t picked

  264. Matt December 4, 2010 7:55 pm

TD for Pilares. Are we at the over yet?

  265. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 7:56 pm

Great job with play actions today!

  266. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 7:57 pm

Is it time for Joseph Malabuyoc?

  267. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 7:58 pm

Wow! A kickoff that actually went to the goal line!

  268. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 7:59 pm

    Michigan Warrior…

Yeah.. I know.. Now, I say, we gotta start the season all over again…

  269. Committed Road Warrior December 4, 2010 8:00 pm

    +/- is 65.

Need 2 more TDs to reach that.

  270. Matt December 4, 2010 8:01 pm

Torres puts a KATOOSH on the QB.

  271. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:02 pm

That was a beautiful sack by Torres!

  272. duffer December 4, 2010 8:02 pm

    KAAAAATOOOOSH by Torres!!!!!

  273. Matt December 4, 2010 8:03 pm

Bradley needs a TD for his Senior Day.

  274. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:06 pm

Thye probably want to finish this drive with the first team. I’d like to see at least the second and third string receivers work with Moniz for the rest of this drive. Then, start working in the rest of our seniors, at least.

  275. sports for fun December 4, 2010 8:06 pm

Does the Hawai’i coaching staff give out helmet stickers this year?

  276. madeinhawaii December 4, 2010 8:06 pm

    1992 11-3

    2002 10-4

    2006 11-3

    2007 12-1

    2008 10-3 w/one game remaining.. (vs Tulsa)

  277. Rasu Begasu December 4, 2010 8:06 pm

    will Malabuyoc play tonite? hmmm

  278. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:06 pm

Man, my typing tonight is atrocious! I keep backspacing, and I still miss stuff!

  279. hwanstln December 4, 2010 8:08 pm

is Matt, moniz’s cousin, on the blog. I need your email address. send it to me at edmorimo@yahoo.com.

  280. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:08 pm

Green down… better be cramps, and nothing more serious. We gotta start taking these starters out!!! Still got a Bowl game we gotta win!!!

  281. Matt December 4, 2010 8:08 pm

Uh, MIH. We definitely were not 10-3 in 2008.

  282. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:09 pm

    Salas! Beautiful pass!

  283. Matt December 4, 2010 8:09 pm

    Salas is a beast!!! TD!!!

  284. Cheyah! December 4, 2010 8:09 pm

Yay! Finally! Great throw and catch!

  285. Rasu Begasu December 4, 2010 8:10 pm

    Anywats Malabuyoc is # 60

  286. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 8:10 pm

Moniz throws better when he guns the ball on those long passes. His bombs are usually overthrown.

  287. JustAsking December 4, 2010 8:12 pm

Anyone know who’s the guy in the blue jersey number 8 on the sidelines? I assume he’s a recruit…

  288. Matt December 4, 2010 8:17 pm

Is Salas told to fair catch every punt?

  289. Shoko December 4, 2010 8:18 pm

  314. Matt December 4, 2010 8:46 pm

  345. wafan December 4, 2010 9:31 pm

Albeit the stadium sound empty right now it sure sounded like it was rocking during the game.

Did a lot of folks remain for the senior celebration and recognition? And did it move along quickly and smoothly without secret whispers?

I sure hope so — they certainly deserve it!!!

  346. wafan December 4, 2010 9:33 pm

  350. bb December 4, 2010 9:47 pm

Some peeps were sitting in my seats but no big deal.

My friends and I sat up in the yellow…

There I witnessed some dudes flying full uneaten spam musubis down to the field from the red section. Two of them to be exact. The first landed on the 15 yd line the second almost hit the mob of fans that stands between the goaline and 10.

There was within the blustery trades the scent of pakalolo. This lasted the entire 2nd qtr.

Drunk fans. Drunk fans. Drunk fans.

The mother that was about to kill her son for not answering his fone.

All in all a very interesting nite.

  351. kruzen December 4, 2010 9:50 pm

Congrats to the Warriors for a great regular season!

  352. RedZone December 4, 2010 9:51 pm

Salas is making smart plays. Whenever he fair catches there is someone in his face. Why risk injury? The object is to get the ball back for the offense to do their thing.

The oine was rocking tonight. Corey is getting faster and faster. Torres should get a look at slot.

  353. LizKauai (macbook) December 4, 2010 9:54 pm

Speaking of GC’s- Thanks homey for getting the Young’s Fish Market fuud to the T-Gate! Hope Rob25 enjoyed the tripe stew! 😆

  354. Michigan Warrior December 4, 2010 9:57 pm

Gratz to our Warriors for a great year!

Mahalo to all our Seniors for leading us from the WAC basement to Co-Champs!

Tulsa… we better be ready for that no huddle!

Can you guys believe UConn in a BCS game? Unranked! I’m sure some East coast voters will push them up into #25 or so for this final regular season poll. Ridiculous!

Should be top 10 teams for BCS bowls, with a max of 2 teams from any conference.

    Go Warriors!

    Nytal!!!

  359. papajoe2 December 4, 2010 10:08 pm

My prediction of 52-7 was looking good until about 4 minutes left. Warriors…. too good. Shucks too bad UNLV scored 2 late TDs. 21 points doesn’t look too bad to the people who didn’t watch the game.

  360. pakegolf December 4, 2010 10:25 pm

Awesome game, awesome season. Hope we move up the rankings!

  381. al December 4, 2010 11:58 pm

    you’re up late.

  382. Slugger December 4, 2010 11:59 pm

    al,

I saw three recruits before the game who looked tall with good size to them. WooHoo! Don’t know who they were though.

Met Adrian Thomas’ family in the stands. They were with Bulla Ginlack’s Mom, Aunty from Fiji, and Uncle & Aunty who hosted the tailgate. Adrian’s parents will be back for graduation after a cruise ’round the islands & they’ll be here for the Hawaii Bowl.

Saw Ryan Henry’s Mom & Aunty; Ryan hadn’t given her my number… too bad they couldn’t join us for the T-Gate.

Got some cute pictures of Purcell’s boys with shirts that said, “Who’s your daddy?” with #90 & Purcell on the back. Cute!

Great game Warriors!!! Let’s go bowling!

  383. al December 5, 2010 12:00 am

    #345…not to fret. it’s a done deal.

  384. al December 5, 2010 12:02 am

  385. Kekoa December 5, 2010 12:04 am

kk? can somebody drive him home please?

  387. jm2375 December 5, 2010 12:24 am

    Howzit Tsai-kos!!

Great game, the place was rocking, especially when UNLV decided to go for it on 4th down. I swear I heard “DEFENSE” in stereo surround sound.

Great t-gate as usual. And just to make you all jealous, here’s part of the menu:

tri-tip steak, sausage, SailorBlue’s gumbo, chili dogs, chicken long rice, adobo, bacon-wrapped jalapenos, red velvet cake, Midori7’s trifle, Tsaiko bread pudding, myki’s bread pudding plus much more

  388. cheepono December 5, 2010 12:45 am

was keeping close tabs on the TE/DE from ohio and sadly he looked uninterested and unimpressed most of the night. hope that “poker face” is his default look and not indicative of how he felt this trip. i must say though, he is a well built young man and it was interesting that desmond dean was his host.

hope we land a few future warriors this weekend!

    great game and aloha.

  389. Slugger December 5, 2010 12:56 am

    Good night, gang!

    al,

I saw a lot of recruits, too. But the 3 that I mentioned looked very good. 🙂

  390. Kekoa December 5, 2010 1:09 am

    Still here at T-gate.

  391. al December 5, 2010 1:21 am

what do you mean they looked good?

    good looking?

how can you tell if they will be good football players if they didn’t do any drills, skills, and the lik

  392. Michigan Warrior December 5, 2010 4:41 am

Again, hats off to our Warriors for a great season. In ST’s article, “Powers of 10”, in the StarAdvertiser, Austin Hansen sums it up nicely,

“This was for the seniors,” said left tackle Austin Hansen, a junior. “This is for the guys who gave five years of their lives, dedicated 100 percent for this program. That’s 5:30 mornings year ’round. That’s heartbreak. That’s reading stories about how bad you are. That’s working your butt off when nobody believes in you. That’s what this night was all about. And the 10 wins? That’s the bonus on top.”

  393. bighilofan2 December 5, 2010 5:34 am

    Goooood Morning Tsaikos everywhere!

and it is a great morning, indeedee!

  394. bighilofan2 December 5, 2010 5:42 am

    travels of a Tsaikos:

Had to go Peepeekeo to Mauna Kea Beach Hotel for function yesterday, 3-6 p. dinner. awards, yada yada. meanwhile, no ppv at da hotel. no ppv at Seafood Bar Kawaihae. Parade 6-7p in Waimea, road closed. wat to do, wat to do. options options. wat would Coach do….

bingo. back up da saddle. 1420 am, listening to da good life. into Cronies at 8p, 3rd qtr just starting. saw da whole whippin. and da best was da Torres’ KATOOOOOSSHHHH!

den afta da game, driving home, listened to our future President, Greg McMackin! 😀

and his brilliant communications skill. “we played the whole team…. the best group I’ve ever been around…. starting MOnday, we’re gonna meet at 4, then we’re gonna do strength and conditioning for 15 days…. and then we’re gonna kick their a$$…”

Saw Joe Malabuyoc saw Tinoco. saw Ikaika….

yup, Big Hilo is one happy camper now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Go Warriors!!!!!!

  395. RIKanaka December 5, 2010 5:58 am

AG is a beast! After last night’s game he’s leading the nation among all the 1000 yard rushers with 8.8 yards/carry, 1.6 yards more than the next closest, Colin Kaepernick. http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/player/_/stat/rushing/sort/rushingYards/year/2010/group/80 Unreal!

    Duffer

    D1

    good morning Tsaikos.

duffer, all da newspaper guys jumped on da Warrior bandwagon.. and who can blame dem?

they all wanted to write about the Warriors! dus we know da Warriors have arrived!

but you’re right about coach Dana. Da writers gotta step it up, no make like UH Senior nite walk coordinator. i neva see, but from da writeups, seems like coulda been betta.

I’d like da whole team, seniors and all, to know dat dis brudda is supaproud ah dem Warrors!

way to go, Warriors! 😀 way to go. 😀

  405. tommui December 5, 2010 7:04 am

Well, if I can’t be first on the blog this AM, maybe the last?

    GOOD MORNING HAWAII!

Great game last night – do agree with BHF2 – the walk could have been better but at least you didn’t have the stop, one photograph, next …

With nearly 30 seniors, that would have been at least 45 minutes. As it was, it was about 20

  406. bighilofan2 December 5, 2010 7:11 am

    howzit…

the senior walk. UH desperately needs a PR coordinator. to be a big time program, with the big time feel, you gotta have the PR. a year to plan to do the next one better. our Warriors need to be recognized as being part of a big time program. showboat is part of dat mix. showboat for da support crew, not just da top crew. da whole senior crew walks da sideline, slaps hands wit da fans, pictures on da jumbo.

its gotta be coordinated. its gotta be flashy. its gotta be… hmmm….

  407. bighilofan2 December 5, 2010 7:14 am

no need to walk to da middle ah da feeld wit a fuddy duddy whippah. need da fan interaction. no need speeches as da fans walking out. gotta put da pikcha on da jumbo wit da tank you Joe, tank you Ikaika flashing on da jumbo, changing every 5 seconds. gotta be fast, gotta be smooth, gotta be …. like …

  408. mctruck December 5, 2010 7:17 am

This has got to go down as the greatest turn-around in three years for our UH Warriors. Imagine, three years ago, most of these seniors were just soph’mors! Great job to all.

JJ is still doing his magic at SMU…he must be very proud of UH’s accomplishments, right on!!

Thank you seniors, may your experiences at Manoa serve you well in tour future endeavors.

  409. bighilofan2 December 5, 2010 7:17 am

cannot have a paypah pusha doing da kala kamentaree, gotta involve Kekaula, wit plannin for a short short window. no need face to face, have da Warrior walk by the TV guy.

da PR coordinator gotta coordinate da talka, da pikcha taykah, da Coach, da playah, da pregame interview of da playah so you put dat on da jumbo, one by one, 10 seconds ah fame and lonesome awesome, da tank you, and on to da next guy.

gotta coordinate da public relations. geeeshhhh! c’mon UH. get on da stick.

  410. mctruck December 5, 2010 7:18 am

and I was VERY disappointed dat I had to drive all da way back to Hilo to watch da Warriors play on ppv in a bar for a home game. The place, Cronies, was packed. Yup, Jesus is in Hilo. 😀

Wadda a bang-up job by rhe Warriors! Next up, Tulsa!

  415. G (China) December 5, 2010 8:44 am

Got to agree w/ST it was complete domination in every phase of the game. On special teams it was nice to see the returner catch the ball near the goal line consistently. It was hard for him to make a decision. I could see him thinking, should I run it out or should I down it?

  416. LizKauai (macbook) December 5, 2010 8:48 am

It was Unity, Solidarity, they BELIEVED.

    One snap and clear.

Tulsa is coming with a no-huddle offense and the Warriors will be TESTED DEARLY.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  417. Slugger December 5, 2010 8:49 am

    Good morning!!!

    BigHilo,

I’m glad you found Jesus in Hilo. 🙂

  418. LizKauai (macbook) December 5, 2010 8:52 am

#396 – Big Hilo and Mrs… you were under the watchful eye of Ke Akua last night for travelling safely back to Hilo! Hoo wee! Dat is one scary drive.

  419. Slugger December 5, 2010 8:53 am

We can not have a let-down after this game, but remember, finals week is coming up. Study hard and get the job done, Warriors.

Are the Senior festivities on the replay? Guess I’ll find out in an hour or so. Sorry to have missed Jake’s touchdown. YeeHaw!

  425. Pomai December 5, 2010 9:47 am

Just like most things the senior walk has turned from a spontaneous happening to a money happening. I agree it should go back to they way it was, as soon as the Alma mater is done the senors walk the stadium all the way around. You would have more fans stay for it, plus while they walk the PA guy could announce them and flash their pictures on the jumbo tron.

But I guess that’s to simple for them to figure out. The awards could be handed out at the awards banquet DUH!!!!

  426. Pomai December 5, 2010 9:48 am

UH should be ranked at least 19!!!!!

  427. BG December 5, 2010 10:13 am

    Good morning everyone!!!

The T-gate has become such an institution through the years! But it has never become predictable. New Tsaikos and Tsaikos-in-the-making are always showing up. Yesterday, a couple that Homey had met down at the cabanas the previous game showed up and had a great time. Woohoo! Nothing feels better than smiles and laughter throughout the place. Except maybe the best tasting variety of fuud found anywhere in the state finding a home in our bellies. Vegetarians and carnivores, alcohol lovers and tee-totters, young and old, windward and leeward side, male and female all get along great at a T-gate. Folks are already planning for the away games next year! Keep the excitement going!

  428. BG December 5, 2010 10:23 am

It takes a lot of time and effort to make the reservations for the t-gate sites. And then it takes a lot more on game days to make sure the place is available at 0930 and then closed up at 0100 or whenever the last body decides to journey home. A full and exhausting responsibility. We are blessed and lucky to the max to have had Sailor Blue and Mrs Sailor Blue (Jerry and Janice) shoulder that burden this year! This season has been another incredible time for the 5 F’s thanks to the both of them…truly unique and loving folks! HUGS ALL AROUND!!!

You need to get into a healthy place-literally- before you can even begin to start eating healthy. Microwave food is not nutritionally good so it is no wonder you only lost 5 pounds. You need to see about getting yourself a hot plate so you can cook yourself some better food until you get a kitchen to store fresh food. The walking is good, but if you get in some strength training, just by having your doctor get you bands that you can wrap around something in your home such as a door knob that will help burn more calories also. Go to turkey, chicken, fresh fruit and veggies and try to get somewhere that you have access to a kitchen. A better living area will be better peace of mind. Eating alone is never fun, so this way you can entertain and have someone there to talk to during some meals and have focus off the food.

A great handbag is a true companion. It not only holds all your essentials while you’re running out and about, it also tells others just how well put together you are. A girl who pays attention to the details of her accessories – the handbag being one of the most important – is a girl who is well put together in general. She’s a girl who can triple the impact of her outfit with just the right bag extending from her hand. Through the history of fashion, a fabulous bag means “you’ve got class.”

Well, not to repeat the hating on aol, but th is is probably essentially the most d isappointing l ist to date. On each sides. How can El Banco Deuno and aol be to the finest l ist, and then bash artwork directors club? I really did nothave an issue with that redesign, as well as collateral was looking quite superior. You recognize what will need to have already been to the l ist for worst logos? New York Philharmonic logo. My hatred of that logo burns in my chest to th is day. The title in the designer behind that logo would be the only motive for any of its success. The perfect l ist the 12 months is quite mediocre for me.I like Mary Shu is comment about her alternatives for the most effective l ist somewhat much better.

It is good to discover Melbourne is identification so highly pra ised on an international level (even when the perform was undertaken ??externally??? ). The shame of it is always that barely any with the advisable applications are already implemented. The truth is, the Metropolis of Melbourne have selected to disregard considerably of what we noticed from Landor shortly immediately after the id was launched. Overall implementation has up to now been really poor and does notlook like obtaining much better anytime soon.

Amongst me and my husband we??? ve owned much more MP3 players about the years than I can count, which includes Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last number of years I’ve settled down to a single line of gamers. Why? Since I was happy to d iscover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
