Game Day: CSU

Today’s meeting against Charleston Southern is a better-win game for the Warriors, who open conference play next Saturday against Louisiana Tech.

Time to clean the house. I’ve got a UH mini helmet. So, winner of  Pomai’s guess-the-score contest gets it and, if the winner wishes, I’ll get somebody to autograph it.

Just watched a video at espn.go.com. Did anyone know that Bo Levi Mitchell transferred to Eastern Washington? The team with the new red turf field?

  4. sportsforfun September 25, 2010 9:34 am

Um, ST, we open conference play against the Buccaneers next week too?

i was thinking about bo levi mitchell yesterday while catching a few minutes of the smu-tcu game. padrone did not look good at all.

    interesting path that mitchell took.

    smu starting qb fresh.

    Good morning Tsaikos!

ST kicked my butt last night at bowling.

ST – bring your phone, we’ll help you with it. 🙄

OK, time to go make the bread pudding.

  13. LizKauai (iPad) September 25, 2010 9:38 am

Pomai already closed the guesses. But….

  14. al September 25, 2010 9:40 am

i was gonna call you today ST. i was beginning to wonder where the prizes at?

is this too a sign of the times?

is the star/advertiser a corporate sponsor of the UH sports programs??

  15. sportsforfun September 25, 2010 9:40 am

    @#11

al, I agree, Padrone actually looked terrible to me. I don’t know if he was indecisive, which made him hold the ball too long, or if the receivers weren’t reading the defense, therefore running the wrong routes.

  16. SteveM September 25, 2010 9:46 am

    Good morning everyone!

Side belly pork is all marinated and waiting for the tailgate grill. Sliced in half the long way today for faster cooking and more marinade rub area. ETA 1300.

I think J(James) requested that items for the grill arrive before 1330.

Note the tailgate has started already. 🙂

Hope to see some new faces (lurkers) at today’s tailgate. We’ll have a lot of covered room, and up at Patio 5, it’s a shorter and level walk from the Nimitz side of the stadium. Drop by! No need password if you walk over.

does anyone know how to use espn3.com, its not listing oceanic time warner as a internet provider?

  19. bb September 25, 2010 9:50 am

I wonder how many students will show up.

What kind of crowd are we looking at?

Or will this be an Orange and Yellow Out night at the stadium?

  20. LizKauai (iPad) September 25, 2010 9:51 am

    Bread pudding.

    Tsigh

Guess it’s time to make scones.

  21. papajoe2 September 25, 2010 9:51 am

Wow we play them 2 times in a row. Hope we win both, but if we lose the first one, we can redeem ourselves.

    ST, mistake no?

  22. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 9:52 am

    Sportsforfun:

    Thanks for the catch.

  23. papajoe2 September 25, 2010 9:52 am

ST, you too fast. Does our guess the score with Pomai count?

  24. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 9:53 am

    Al:

I know. I have to hunt down the swag department.

I don’t think Avis has picked a winner in weeks.

  25. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 9:54 am

    Actually, we’re using Pomai’s game.

  26. Hoss September 25, 2010 9:57 am

If Moniz plays whole game: 37-24 UH

If Austin gets a shot: 56-24 UH

  27. d1島 September 25, 2010 9:57 am

    Hah?

You mean the guesses actually mean something now?

Hmm…need to make a real guess!

  33. NYUH September 25, 2010 10:01 am

UH 42 – 24 if we are not going by Pomai’s scores.

  34. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 10:01 am

So, am I to believe that you guys actually wanted prizes before?

Don’t think that will be a problem. But, as you all know, delivery is a problem. So if you win, or if you’re owed something, tell Wena and she’ll make sure things get delivered. Did I mention I’m irresponsible?

  35. UHalumInOC September 25, 2010 10:02 am

    Garret

I saw your post about the UH game being taken off of the ESPN gameplan broadcast. Do you know why? Was it the poor showing vs Colorado? I was really bummed about that.

    LizKauai

Can you post some hints on how to find your “public” streaming sites of UH games?

Thanks…let’s get the winning streak going Warriors!

  36. d1島 September 25, 2010 10:02 am

  37. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 10:02 am

Yep. We’re going by Pomai’s scores. Now that Pomai has an official title with the athletic department.

And that he has re-established residency.

  38. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 10:07 am

I noticed that UH games are being shown in those movie theaters.

To which I ask: Is UH getting a cut of that money?

    Do they sell beer?

    Reserved seats?

And if you don’t like the game, can you see the new Wall Street movie?

  39. Muficrombie September 25, 2010 10:12 am

I do not want to participate but I thought of who should sign the helmet.

If the year can be inscribed as well it could be a piece of Hawaii football history and lore.

Get Moniz, Lolotai and Kekaula to sign it.

You got a one of kind piece of history right there. You can have Coach Mack, Salas, Pilares, any one player but those would have been done time and time again. If you want something unique that absolutely nobody has and can be passed along for generation to generation that those are the people that absolutely need to sign it.

It would be right up there with the game ball used for UH’s first win over BYU, The original down marker that is held by the linesman as he sprints down the sideline to the new spot, a Jason Elam shoe, the screwdriver that was tossed in Fresno, and the muscle man body suit worn by the mascot years ago.

Years from now when you are sitting with your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren if you have a helmet signed by those 3 you have a major piece of the post Sugar Bowl era.

A mini helmet signed by Moniz, Lolotai and Kekaula is eBay gold.

  40. NYUH September 25, 2010 10:15 am

Thanks for the clarification on the scores. Must be the time difference.

Some good WAC games, taking on Mississippi. Nevada at BYU and of course the big BS vs. OSU game tonight. Wanted SMU to win last night but the BS-TCU rivalry takes a lot of oxygen out of the big boys media coverage.

  41. Steve September 25, 2010 10:17 am

ST, what is Pomai’s official title?

  42. d1島 September 25, 2010 10:19 am

I want mine signed by a Kukui HS alum…

  43. d1島 September 25, 2010 10:19 am

    …nuts yeah?

  44. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 10:22 am

    Muficrombie:

You’re right, of course. But I tried to not mention names because, even though this is a free-to-enter contest, I wasn’t quite sure of the rules.

  45. NYUH September 25, 2010 10:23 am

“I don’t think you have to do a whole lot to motivate people to play an FBS opponent,” Charleston Southern coach Jay Miller said after the Mars Hill win. “These guys always dream, growing up, of having a chance to play on a stage like that. The next best thing to playing for these FBS teams is playing against them.”

  46. Bowwar September 25, 2010 10:23 am

UHAlumInOC – the arrrr matey version may show in channelsurfing dot net at game time. Otherwise, I have a oceanic TW app for iPhone that Oceanic CS told me would work.

  50. d1島 September 25, 2010 10:29 am

    Hog Wild!

Arkansas students camped out for game tickets to today’s game from Monday ’cause they love their Hogs.

UH students came out to protest the student fee from 3 minutes before ’cause they heard someone was serving hotdogs…

  51. RedZone September 25, 2010 10:31 am

UCLA is really taking it to Texas.

  52. d1島 September 25, 2010 10:31 am

    ‘Cats up 28-0! 🙂

    …time for a beer run!

  53. NYUH September 25, 2010 10:32 am

You couldn’t go wrong with a Mouse Davis signature.

  54. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 10:33 am

Actually, I have a World League card of Mouse.

    Next week’s prize?

  55. bb September 25, 2010 10:37 am

In a weird way #39 is correct.

Other things you one could add to this list are the empty cans of pepper spray used by HPD from the Cincinnati game and awhile back I remember the Pearl City High band performing at halftime and a huge string of balloons which stretched almost from goal line to goal line got somehow released and got stuck in the north endzone net. For the entire 2nd half there was tall balloon spire reaching up to the heavens of Halawa.

  56. jm2375 September 25, 2010 10:39 am

OK, bread pudding in the oven. Should be able to leave home a little before noon. Haven’t had any caffeine yet. Do I need to stop and get some before I get to the tgate?

  57. WenatcheeWarrior September 25, 2010 10:50 am

    Pomai,

    55-17 UH.

  58. Na Koa Mike September 25, 2010 10:52 am

Don’t forget to enter the drawing for a game-worn jersey at Na Koa’s booth in the Chevron Fun Zone. Also purchase your lineup from the Na Koa booth to support Warrior football.

  59. UHalumInOC September 25, 2010 10:57 am

    Mahalo Liz…

With all the weather vane schools playing on gameplan all day it’s a slap in the face that they cancelled the game. In fact the time slot the UH was going to be shown, nothing now is being broadcast on any of the 6 gameplan channels. So ESPN chose to cancel th UH game and show NADA. Big sigh…

  60. Don Weir September 25, 2010 11:17 am

I believe that Pomai is the President of the Wahine Softball Booster Club.

  61. d1島 September 25, 2010 11:19 am

    Beer is here!

…don’t think Pomai will be able to update anymore score guesses; he’s prolly already at the TsaikoGate. (plus he usually cut ’em off the night before the game)

  62. iwonderwhytheyhateme September 25, 2010 11:21 am

    COACHES WITH GREEN ARM PATCHES….

So maybe some of you notice that today all coaches in college football are wearing a green arm patch….

    well heres the reason why

    http://www.afca.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9300&ATCLID=204994001

I hope our coaching staff will be participating in this very good cause.

  63. Shoko September 25, 2010 11:22 am

    Al #11,

Interesting, I had the same thought. I have no idea why he transfered and to EWU of all places.

  64. CoolEthan September 25, 2010 11:25 am

    ST-

Can you get Kelly Ellis to sign the helmet?

  65. Shoko September 25, 2010 11:26 am

    Sportsfan #15,

Good point. During the game the commentatros were speculating that JJ was telling Padron he was holding on to the ball too long, but TCU’s pass rush was obviously putting the pressure. At least from what I remember, he didn’t throw too many interceptions. Seems like he still has a problem with accuracy when under the pressure.

  66. Nate Hara September 25, 2010 11:28 am

I am taking the defense stepping up forcing turnovers and making plays on third down. I believe the offense is going to be a force to reckon with. And special teams will clean their act up.

  68. d1島 September 25, 2010 11:34 am

Is somebody thinking going on his mission this year might have been a good idea?

  69. TYaiea September 25, 2010 11:41 am

See Pomai’s yesterday #290 at 2:42 a.m. “All Pau,” I believe that was the final list of scores. Quick somebody, what are Pomai’s rules, is it closest without going over? or just closest and doesn’t matter if it goes over. IMUA NA KOA. Geev’um…..

  70. d1島 September 25, 2010 11:52 am

    TYaiea,

    Closest, I think.

Long time no see. Hope you and the Mrs. doing good.

  71. d1島 September 25, 2010 11:55 am

Wow, UCLA not letting up on Texas.

  72. TYaiea September 25, 2010 12:04 pm

Hi Shima, yep, we’re ok. Looks all the top teams are having problems. I think the beavers going beat the broncs. And positive that the Warriors going slam Chuck South.

  73. d1島 September 25, 2010 12:06 pm

    TYaiea,

Yep, everything’s big in Texas…even the upsets!

  74. d1島 September 25, 2010 12:07 pm

    …next stop, TsaikoGate.

    GO WARRIORS!

    GO WILDCATS X 2!

  75. papajoe2 September 25, 2010 12:15 pm

I guess we’re not the only team that can stop the run. Texas can’t seem to stop UCLA’s running game.

  76. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 12:15 pm

I think Texas is going down.

  124. Ipu Man September 25, 2010 3:42 pm

I just checked channel surfing dot net and it wasn’t thar either.

Bobby Curran and Robert Kekaula on radio is actually enjoyable.

  127. Hank September 25, 2010 4:08 pm

  130. Townieboy September 25, 2010 4:19 pm

Nevada with a nice win over BYU

  134. LizKauai (iPad) September 25, 2010 4:30 pm

MattO – oceanic has an iPhone app and when I asked the CS rep, she said it would have the game.

  135. madeinhawaii September 25, 2010 4:31 pm

Oregon.. recovers a Boise fumble on a punt… gets good field positions… completes a pass near the end zone.. receiver turns to run it in but fumbles just before he reaches the line.. fortunately for Oregon they recover.. Touchdown! Boise 31… Oregon 24.

  136. Shoko September 25, 2010 4:32 pm

Ole Miss really put a beating on Fresno State.

  137. Midnight September 25, 2010 4:36 pm

  142. Shoko September 25, 2010 5:09 pm

    Liz,

That movie the Perfect Getaway was quite good.

Did anyone vote for UH (again), for best performance of the Hawaii Five-0?

  143. Ronnie September 25, 2010 5:10 pm

    IT’S SATURDAY!!!!

I just saw this on the cbs.com website (click on my name for the link). It is a video of the UH Marching Band playing Hawai’i 5-0. It is pretty darn cool!!!!

  144. Committed Road Warrior September 25, 2010 5:17 pm

    Pauoa Boy #131:

Thanks for the link! Hopefully it comes through, as I’m unable to order the live stream of the game through Oceanic (their website is a little screwy).

  145. Matto September 25, 2010 5:25 pm

Thanks so much to everyone who responded – Oceanic’s PPV streaming ordering screen is down, so I’m hoping one of the other options will work. Otherwise it’s 1420 for me!

  146. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 5:35 pm

    Pauoa Boy, as for http://www.nenggeulis.com/,

Thanks but they said vid is not yet up.

Try in a few minutes but so far nada…

  149. Matt September 25, 2010 5:40 pm

  150. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 5:43 pm

    You’re welcome Matt 🙂

No sound but at least we got a live game

  152. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 5:47 pm

    You’re Welcome!!

I didn’t even know about the ESPN 1420

Thanks to you and matt for letting me know!

  153. Matt September 25, 2010 5:48 pm

Warrior Fan in NY. You can listen to the ESPN 1420 radio feed at http://espn1420am.com/ Robert Kekaula and Bobby Curran have the call.

  154. djmitcho September 25, 2010 5:51 pm

kinda po’d with oceanic…tried to order the video stream and it wouldn’t let me…guess bc and kekaula will have to do

  155. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 5:52 pm

    I just started listening lol

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU! i don’t think i could have kept watching without sound o.O

  156. Matt September 25, 2010 5:53 pm

    djmitcho,

    see #146.

  157. Steve September 25, 2010 6:01 pm

Looks like we will be seeing Rausch and Austin at QB this game.

  158. Committed Road Warrior September 25, 2010 6:06 pm

The video stream from #146 is a couple seconds ahead of the audio stream from 1420’s website. Not bad, considering the circumstances.

  159. Committed Road Warrior September 25, 2010 6:07 pm

I meant that the audio feed is a couple seconds ahead of the video stream.

    Argh, dyslexia!

  160. Homegrown September 25, 2010 6:10 pm

thanxs to warrior fan, matt and pauoa boy for the links….i found if you watch the veetle link in one tab and espn 1420 both is in sync with each other,u can watch and listen at the same time it works pretty good!!(ROFL)

  161. Homegrown September 25, 2010 6:11 pm

yea road warrior a little off tho lol

  162. Matt September 25, 2010 6:16 pm

If the audio is ahead of the video, try pausing the audio by hitting the pause button on the 1420 feed and then hit play a few seconds later. That will delay the 1420 feed by a few seconds. At least it worked for me.

  163. UHfan808 September 25, 2010 6:16 pm

    Good evening Tsaikos & Tsaikettes!

Cannot cheer from my phone this game. By the time it posts, the other guys have the ball, or vice versa. LOL 🙁

Gonna make one cheer for now:

GOOOO WARRRRRIOOOORRRS!!! Don’t let ’em get away with anything, and take it one success at a time!!!

    Cheeeehooooo, you go boys!!!

  164. Ronnie September 25, 2010 6:18 pm

    Hi UHfan808!!!

  165. Matt September 25, 2010 6:25 pm

To add on to #162, if you go to far then hit the “Back to live” button and try the pause tactic again.

  166. Garret September 25, 2010 6:29 pm

I hope that Bradley is okay. UH needs to be as healthy as possible going into the WAC season.

  167. Hank September 25, 2010 6:30 pm

can someone explain why if our base 4-3 is working….we switch to a 3-4…?

  168. Shoko September 25, 2010 6:38 pm

Wowlaulau! We might put up 70 points on these guys.

  169. djmitcho September 25, 2010 6:40 pm

I hope they dont take da foot off da gas in this game. Even when da back-ups come in. Hope they dont get complacent.

  170. al September 25, 2010 6:41 pm

    Hawaii 63 csu 14

  171. Shoko September 25, 2010 6:43 pm

Uh, did anyone else lose the feed?

  172. NYUH September 25, 2010 6:44 pm

Got ESPN 1420 on my PC and streaming oceanic on my laptop. Getting a lot of buffering on the video so I”m doing the radio for continuity. On TV it goes from 1st down to 3rd down all of a sudden. Nice picture though. Robert and Bobby good on the game details anyway.

    Otherwise enjoying the statfest.

  173. Shoko September 25, 2010 6:46 pm

Haha this is turning out to be hilarious. Forget I said 70. I’m thinking triple digits. 😆

  174. townieboy September 25, 2010 6:49 pm

Stuck at a party…what’s the score?

  175. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 6:49 pm

  176. NYUH September 25, 2010 6:50 pm

  185. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:05 pm

Good to see the Little league team at the game too!

  186. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:26 pm

Funny that Rolo yanked Moniz after he tied Rolo and Colt with 6 TD’s in one half, with 6 minutes still left to go. Yeah, prevent injuries and give others some game time experience… but Moniz would’ve broken that school record.

Let’s go, Warriors! Please keep it going through the second half!

  187. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 7:30 pm

    Wow. Moniz is back in?

  188. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:31 pm

And Moniz is back in again for the first series of the third quarter?

  189. curious george September 25, 2010 7:33 pm

hmmm now Mo is back in, again.

C’mon Mack give others a chance to play.

    dumb #@%*

  190. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:35 pm

    First defensive touchdown!

  191. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:36 pm

Replay doesn’t look like a fumble.

  192. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 7:38 pm

“Ferd” has already headed to the writer’s room.

  193. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 7:39 pm

I guess a coach has to do what a coach has to do. But I’d let the ruling go, when you’re leading 49-7

  194. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:39 pm

Both teams are wearing the same green patch on their sleeves… what is that?

  195. Shoko September 25, 2010 7:40 pm

Whats goin on with Mac and the refs?

  196. Shoko September 25, 2010 7:40 pm

  201. Shoko September 25, 2010 7:44 pm

    Mahalo, MW!

  202. Shoko September 25, 2010 7:46 pm

Dang, gained audio and lost the video feed.

  203. Stephen Tsai September 25, 2010 7:48 pm

Nice that Moniz scored, but time to take him out. That open-field scramble was a little scary.

  204. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:48 pm

We scored a touchdown in the third quarter… a rushing touchdown… from the one yard line!

  205. townieboy September 25, 2010 7:48 pm

Thank you New York! Im getting the scores from. NY…how weird is that?

  206. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:49 pm

I agree, ST… let’s not take any more chances than we already have! Give others that much needed game time experience.

  207. Ronnie September 25, 2010 7:50 pm

    Michigan Warrior,

The patch represents “Coach to Cure MD”. http://www.coachtocuremd.org/

  208. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:50 pm

Shoko… no matter how the game is going, it’s always fun listening to BC’s and RK’s play by play.

  209. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:51 pm

    Mahalo, Ronnie!

  210. Shoko September 25, 2010 7:51 pm

    MW,

True dat. Trying to relocare the video feed tho.

  211. curious george September 25, 2010 7:54 pm

    take Mo out already!

it’s not nice to run-up the score against a much lesser team, esp a .a church-like college.

hope *bachi* doesn’t come back to bite UH in the arse – say like Boise.

  212. Ronnie September 25, 2010 7:54 pm

    No problem, Michigan Warrior.

  213. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 7:54 pm

We don’t need the third quarter meltdown now… Let’s go, Warriors!

  222. curious george September 25, 2010 8:07 pm

at this junture, Derek with a prediction of 56-0 is the closet to the score contest.

but, it’s only in the 3rd qtr.

actually, the only other nearest guess is Souljah at 69-17.

  223. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 8:10 pm

    Thanks curious george :D!

No, I was born in the Philippines and then I came to the Bronx when I was 7.

I visited Hawaii 3 times already since almost all of my family lives there (My dad, mom, brother, gma and I are the only ones here). I just came back on august from a 42 day vacation with my little brother 😀 and I FELL IN LOVE with everything and everybody over there. The people are so nice and the feeling is so welcoming.

I guess the other two times I was just so busy enjoying the beaches but this last time, I got to enjoy the people and more places.

I’m waiting for a response from UH or Kapi’olani and then I’m officially off to hawaii 😀 IM SO EXCITEDDDD!

  232. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 8:26 pm

Okay, fourth QB scores a TD… maybe we gotta practice on our running game, even though we all know our run usually comes first.

  233. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 8:29 pm

Okay… clean game here on out… no injuries… no stupid penalties… and we pick off another pass

You guys see Manti Te’o in Notre Dame’s game against Stanford? Man, Stanford looks tougher than they’ve looked in ages, but Te’o was on fire! I think he made like 21 tackles today. Really inspirational play.

  239. Warrior Fan in NY September 25, 2010 8:37 pm

Thank you Curious George! I’ll make sure to keep that in mind 😀

Can’t wait to maybe see a real UH game live in person!

And noooooo 🙁 I had a psychology class til’ 12 which was the time it began and driving to west point takes about an hour so i thought it would be better to save some money. I think it was sold out too!

Time to talk about next week with LaTech. Are we hungry enough to make a serious run through our conference? Fresno State lost today. BSU and Nevada look tough. But it all starts with LaTech.

  262. curious george September 25, 2010 9:12 pm

Souljah had the highest prediction at 69-17.

  263. Pauoa Boy September 25, 2010 9:14 pm

Nice game for the defense today and special teams…

John Hardy-Tuliau is a baller baby. He reminded me a little of Nate Jackson and Leonard Peters flying all over the field tonight. He should be a permanent starter from here on out.

Monico was beastin on special teams tonight again…

Umu had a nice game tonight for the DLine as well as Hanohano.

Aaron Brown continues to shine and nothing against the other LB’s but he is the best linebacker right now hands down. Very instinctive and quick to the ball.

I like Siaki Cravens too, had some nice stops and a shared sack with the Animal.

Anyway, hope this game has given a new confidence and swagger for the boys to carry into conference play! Defense played the way it should’ve although they need to squeeze ball with two hands. I think had about 4 possible missed interceptions tonight??? Anyway, I honestly feel that if our defense and special teams would have gave tonights efforts in the previous 3 games, we would be 4-0 right now!!!

  264. Townieboy September 25, 2010 9:14 pm

Eh, CG…whadda ya mean “didn’t miss much”? My regular beer vendor must have been so lonely. =0)

MW, no kidding. Cant wait to see the news clips.

  265. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 9:15 pm

Yes, good to see our offense doing their thing. Better yet… good to see our defense swarming to the ball again!

Keep that fire the rest of the year, guys!

  266. Pauoa Boy September 25, 2010 9:17 pm

No mean to be negative but what da heo was Hansen thinking throwing bows early in the game…lucky bruddah never get caught but dat was one outright lolo move that could’ve got him kicked out of the game!

  267. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 9:18 pm

#263… Pauoa Boy… if both offense AND defense had been playing like this in the first three games, we’d be ranked!

  276. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 9:32 pm

Thanks, D1… hope they get more into it as the season goes on.

I am just so glad to see our defense play like UH defenses of old. Coach Mack said, in his post game interview with BC and RK, that this is the first time in 1 year and 3 games that this defense played with the kind of emotion and swarming that they need to play with.

He also said Rolo told him he was pulling Moniz once Moniz tied him and Colt with 6 TD’s in a half.

  282. Michigan Warrior September 25, 2010 9:42 pm

Caller just brought up a good point… UCLA just obliterated #7 Texas today. #6 Nebraska struggled against South Dakota State. #8 Oklahoma barely survived Cincy. And we should’ve beat Colorado.

  283. Pauoa Boy September 25, 2010 9:44 pm

    MW,

True dat, one thing I do like though about this team is that there is a lot of promise with the freshman guys and new faces playing. John Hardy-Tuliau and Aaron Brown are the type of guys on defense that we need…instinctive and quick to the ball…garrans if they keep balling out every game, they will be on some ALL-WAC teams come season end. I already permanent markering in John Hardy-Tuliau’s name for WAC Freshman of the Year award!!!

    Just got home from work.

Good win for the Warriors. Didn’t see any footage yet but some bc and rk audio. Was close for a very short time but I really expected a better effort from the other guys.

Best for Rosehill and his apparent knee injury. Sounds very serious. Just don’t want to see any of those types of injuries let alone experiencing one of that nature.

Lot to talk and discuss but I say ‘Imua’ let’s start

preparing for next weeks season opener. La Tech. Big bad and fast and nasty. So prepare for the challenge Warriors.

    Good win for the warriors.

They did exactly what they needed to do: Beat CSU to a pulp.

By the third quarter, I found myself cheering for CSU….hoping they could get something positive going. “pua ting” I thought to myself.

As for Moniz starting the third quarter, it made total sense. One of the guys I was watching with even called it at halftime: Moniz will be going back in. It made sense because of our third quarter letdowns all year. Our offense needed to get it on track in the third Q, regardless if were already ahead quite comfortably.

#281 ~ I think it was good to run something they’ve run in practice and to see it succeed. Builds the self-confidence and gives the next team something to think about when they are defense. Misdirection? I can’t think of the exact term. Too tired.

i guess after tonight, there is no question who is our best qb. there had been many who still doubted bryant moniz. even though against an fcs team, he still displayed all of his skills tonight. passes short and long, wide and near, were all on the money. several dropped passes if they had been caught would have led to astronomical numbers.

RGM got into his first game this season. He had 1 catch for -2 yards, 3 punt returns for 20 yards, and 4 kick returns for a total of 77 yards. He also fumbled once, but at least it was recovered by his team.

    http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/boxscore.aspx?GAMEID=877

  328. Garret September 26, 2010 6:08 am

This reporter says that RGM should be used more on offense…I agree of course.

Ryan Grice-Mullen and Hugh Charles improve the return game, but they had one offensive touch between them. Why not start Grice-Mullen at wideout instead of Koch?

  330. CoolEthan September 26, 2010 6:18 am

A tip of the hat to Stutzman and Graves for stepping up to the plate and hitting home runs with their respective plays from the rookie status.

A wag of the finger to the repetitive mistake makers. Game 4 is pau, game 5 coming up and need to mature up to par.

the coaching management still raises my eyebrows, so throw them into the mix of that Wag of the Finger.

Way to go Warriors. You showed how you can come together with a positive win. Next week will be tougher. Much tougher. Play mistake free ball and you can pull off another win.

  331. papajoe2 September 26, 2010 6:19 am

#314, Oh noooooooo, now we get spam in Greek.

  332. CoolEthan September 26, 2010 6:21 am

    Garret,

I question how Nebraska can jump up a slot from a weak performance against S.Dakota st.. Though they won, the margin was small and total score very low. ( 17 – 3).

Oregon is gonna bust some seams in that top 5. Stanford & Oregon get the game of the weekend coming next weekend. Sure looks like they will be doing the battle for Pac-10 title if they peak towards the end of the season.

  333. Garret September 26, 2010 6:33 am

I finished collecting the quotes from the game, but really only the Star-Advertiser and UH’s website had quotes…so, you are better off just re-reading the Star-Advertiser’s articles. Still, this is good for my archive.

    http://uhwarriorquotes.blogspot.com/2010/09/quotes-from-uh-charleston-southern-game.html

  334. Garret September 26, 2010 6:35 am

    CoolEthan,

I think that Texas’ weakness this season factors in both Oklahoma’s ranking and Nebraska’s ranking. Texas is starting a sophomore QB who never started a college game before this season and his backups are true freshmen…I never expected Texas to be that strong this season. They also whiffed on recruiting all the top RBs for about the last 4 years, so they cannot rely on their running game. Their QBs will be more experienced next season and 5-star RB Malcolm Brown will join them next season, so they will be better then.

  335. Garret September 26, 2010 6:36 am

Louisiana Tech is 1-3 and has to travel a long way next week…this is a great time for UH to gain momentum for the rest of the season.

Off to take the kids to Legoland–we’re going to check out the new water park there since it will be 85 degrees today.

  337. Michigan Warrior September 26, 2010 6:41 am

I don’t see how Nebraska (struggled against South Dakota State, 17-3) and Oklahoma (barely beat Cincy, 31-29) could’ve moved up in the polls with their performances, seeing as voters dinged TCU for their struggles against SMU.

Glad to see Army win again.

    Slugger,

Report this morning is that the gadget play only gets a run-thru during walk-thru’s.

It’s nit-picky in light of the blowout but I’m just thinking it may be better to bring out something like that in a conference game with more on the line. I did consider what Rolo said at his Na Koa presentation about the shovel…that it’s one more thing the oddah guys gotta practice to defend but still, at that point of the game it may have been a little gratuitous. JMHO.

I hope this game is a momentum builder as this team has to believe that what they did to Charleston Southern they can do that to ANYONE. No matter what Division. I’ll give credit to them for playing a good game. But I’ll admit the level of talent they were playing but they need to play like this at home and Away against the Best and Against the Worst they need to play like that 100% of the time. But Go Warriors hopefully more people show up next week.

Rolo’s 8 TD throws and that remarkable string of performances that resulted in a 9-4 record but no post-season opportunities gave us the Hawaii Bowl. Glad the record wasn’t broken last night. Now, given that La Tech totally embarrassed us last year on national TV…

  385. tv online September 29, 2010 10:19 pm

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  386. tv online September 29, 2010 11:16 pm

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  387. tv online September 29, 2010 11:40 pm

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  388. tv online September 30, 2010 12:32 am

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  389. tv online September 30, 2010 1:59 am

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  390. tv online September 30, 2010 2:03 am

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  391. tv online September 30, 2010 2:13 am

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

  392. tv online September 30, 2010 2:14 am

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Lender Processing Services Inc.’s stock dropped today for the third straight trading day, as news reports about bottlenecks in the mortgage foreclosure process highlight the company’s role in the process and also highlight allegations of wrongdoing against LPS.Jacksonville-based LPS responded by issuing a statement late on Monday about “mischaracterizations in the media” about the company’s foreclosure services. LPS also said it believes an investigation of wrongdoing at one of its subsidiaries “will not have a material adverse impact on its business or results of operations.”The subsidiary, Alpharetta, Ga.-based Docx LLC, has been accused of falsifying documents used in foreclosure proceedings, and the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Middle District of Florida and the Florida Attorney General’s office are investigating those charges. LPS reiterated Monday that when it learned of problems at Docx, it took action to correct the problems.

You should certainly think about working on growing this website into a major authority in this market. You clearly have a grasp handle of the matters everybody is looking for on this site anyways and you could certainly even make a buck or two off of some advertising. I would explore following recent topics and raising the amount of write ups you put up and I guarantee you’d begin seeing some amazing targeted traffic in the near future. Just a thought, good luck in whatever you do!
