Great pics. Thanks ST for getting us a look of the players up close. They’re looking to be in great shape. Penitito’s nickname should be the “Stump.” He’s built like an oak tree stump. Maybe keawe tree. Hard like rock.

The University of Hawaii will play Tennessee-Martin in its 2016 football home opener at Aloha Stadium, the schools announced today.

The game is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2016, at Aloha Stadium and is sandwiched between road games at Michigan (Sept. 3) and Arizona (Sept. 17.)

It will be the first meeting for UH with the Skyhawks, a Football Championship Division member of the Ohio Valley Conference.

The addition of the Skyhawks gives the Rainbow Warriors 12 games for 2016.

In a literature class, my professor(who would amazingly become my academic advisor despire raising her blood temperature) got really upset with my interpretation of a scene in Doris Lessing’s “The Grass is Singing”, in which a South African(Afrikaaner) white woman whips one of her slaves. I thought this woman, who always stood in the shadow of her colonialist husband, was coming into her own, albeit in a most hideous misguided way, by exerting power over a man, therefore making her a feminist. On my paper, she wrote in blood red block letters: “YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND FEMINISM! REDO!” Feminism was underlined twice.

Once, I accidentally ticked off Michael Tsai. In a William Faulkner class, I asked him if he’s related to Stephen Tsai. It never occured to me at the time that he gets this question all the time and must be beyond annoyed by this point. He told me that Stephen was his uncle.

If that NT from Inglewood is as nasty as the area he grew up in, he’s going to be a good addition to this team. I lived in Inglewood for a year and feared for my life. Made sure I was back at the dorm before sunset. Would be drinking my beer listening to the gun fire at night! One last thought for the night. Why do the local sportscasters always introduce Michelle Wie as “Punahou and Stanford grad Michelle Wie”!? Like its part of her name. They’ve been drilling that into our heads for years. Enough already. Who in Hawaii doesn’t know bt mow what school she came from

The pot belly days are gone. Paint the last one green. Could pass for the hulk. Would really open up some eyes.

With probably the toughest schedule I can remember, and I’ve been to UH games when they played at “The Old Termite Palace”, they had better be in the best shape of their lives … they’re going to need it …
