Back to school
Today is both the first day of UH’s spring semester and the start of another “dead” period for football recruiting. This lockdown phase was activated because of this week’s coaches convention.
Several UH assistant coaches will be attending the convention. UH coach Norm Chow, who is working on administrative projects, will remain in Hawaii.

And UH softball coach Bob Coolen tweets:
Aloha! First day of school & practice for the 2013 season! Winds have subsided and field is looking good!! Go Bows!!!

Good morning all!
Apologies for the short post, but we have another power outage on this side of the island.
Plus, my phone card keeps kicking me off the Internet every three minutes.
It’s going to be one of those kinds of days.
Irish all the way, roll over the tide!!!!!!!

USA Today says it’s been 44 days since Notre Dame last played.
Hoping it’s not “Roll Tide” but “Low Tide” instead (hehe). Go Irish!
The UH volleyball team might or might not practice today.
Apparently, they returned at 10 last night (via Seattle).
I guess the Warriors took the Sea-nic route.
Tanks Ah!, Pomai . . . and Mr. Stephen Tsai . . . thanks for waking up early.
Mr. Tsai . . . phone card? Could you also be stuck in some mid-1990s temporal anomaly, in addition to being stuck in that power outage, perchance?
“Roll Tide” is one of the best sports chants.
Hmmm. I thought it was called a phone card. It’s one of those things you plug into the laptop to access the Internet. For some reason, I ended up with two cards.
3-Prong, thanks for waking up early!
#9 Let’s go bows! is a pretty good one too.
gobows, also, thank you for waking up early!!!!
“Let’s Go ‘Bows” is good except at a Warrior event.
Hey, I just noticed there are a lot of ads on the side.
I’m impressed.
I use to have a Sprint broadband card that I plugged into my laptop. I think most cards are built in the laptops now. It worked okay in some areas, but if there was high traffic (cellphone use), it was slow and sometimes disconnected. Got rid of it since I didn’t use it that much and it was costing me $75/month!
Whoa! That’s a lot for a month.
These are Verizon plug-ins, so they access the Internet as if they were cell connections.
It’s handy, especially since I still can’t access the Stan Sheriff Center WiFi. Well, except for being disconnected every four minutes.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!!
Hope everyone got through all the wind and rain okay 🙂
For all us Catholics…Gotta be GO IRISH!!! LOL
😎 morning again 808, shout out to tsaiko’s and tsaikette’s
3 prong #6 nice one and agree G0 GREEN and I not talking about mrs coloma bwhaaaaa
Top twenny. HECO can never diminish your power, Tsai-rah! Electricity gone, and yet you post!
Looking forward to a great game later. Like both teams, but must cheer the Irish Hawaiians!
“Tulsa and UMass have been discussed as possible additions if the Big East. Meanwhile, the Mountain West expects to move on San Diego State by the end of this week, according to a league source. The MWC has to decide if it will go to 12 or 14. The MWC has interest in SMU and Houston, but SMU has let it be known to the MWC it has no interest as the Mustangs and Cougars are set to go to the Big East.”

Okay, not top twenny – top thirty is good. 😉
mmmmmmmmmmmmm catholics and hawn’s pulling for ND should be a lock
now where do I go to enjoy the game with my greenies?
Interesting that HC Chow is not attending the convention. I thought it was practically mandatory for FBS HC’s?
BTW, surfing with my AT&T-powered portable hotspot via Android. Rock solid! 🙂
Just waiting til later this year when I can upgrade to a 4G LTE device…
Andy Reid now new coach at 😕 KC
Chip Kelly hit the ajoe 🙄 curse … Browns move on
‘Bama fan…but not when they play Hawaii… or Notre Dame
Heh, well . . . the expression “Crimson Tide” has its Catholic meaning as well. Nick Saban is Catholic.
17. Yea, thats what they charged when they first introuduced their plans. It was unlimited data subscription. That was back in 2005?
Shoko, re #23, I’m guessing the MWC will take back SDSU and then stop at 12 in the hope of luring back BYU some time in the next couple of years. SMU and Houston will stay with the Big East and probably be joined by Tulsa.
Good morning Tsaikos!
Welcome to the first day of the Spring Semester!
(Screecher’s last semester of high school *tsigh*)
The Volleybows came back through Seattle? No direct flights from SLC? Yikes. Great tournament this weekend starting Thursday – UH, Ohio State, UCLA and Penn St.
GO WARRIORS!
GO WAHINE!
ST – guess you stay on the wrong side of Kailua. Haven’t had any blackouts… yet.
(as you stated the other day, the bachi alert has been activated. 😆 )
Notre Dame hasn’t played the top dogs of the SEC yet. That’s the fear. I hope the Irish play well.

Don’t see nothing there about the people of Hawaii so…
LET’S ROLL TIDE!!.
31. Thats sounds likely. But if they invite and BYU accepts, I would think the MW would invite another team. Can’t think of a team that could be invited in the future.
I personally like to stick with a 12-team conference. If any more than that, there could be a break away to form another conference in the future. 12 teams is a more stable conference to manage.
For all you warrior fans out there if you havent seen this documentary its a must see.

36. Thanks. I’ve been wanting to watch that, but I not lucky enough to live Hawaii. 😉
Why do they call it BCS? There is no true championship in this system. It should be called BS.
GOOD MORNING HAWAII!
Roll OVER the Tide!
As I understand it, SDSU has first refusal or first option to join the MW Conference.
I read somewhere that MW might make it difficult for SDSU to join the conference with restrictions of one sort or the other so that BYU can join the conference.
Of course SDSU has a great basketball team that generates $$ – not that it would help UH as we play basketball in another conference.
Would we be better off having all our teams (other than WVB) in the MW?
Roll Tide !!!
Hiya Mo!
Thanks for the positive vibes from early this AM. Me and my team of experts have been busy trying to make medical history. Nobody told us it was impossible, so we continue on blind trust thinking we got this.
Diana and I spent time in music recovery after the solo ukulele performance of UHFan808 on NY morning. Nah, j/k…her performance of a Filipino folk song was flawless! (Along with a few well placed explosives, she brought the house down!)
So how was your entrance into 2013?
41 Tommui: Yah, I thought I read that SDSU has till end of January on their option to come back.
I thought the terms of rejoining still needed to be worked out (end of the week) then presented to SDSU at which tiime they have until the 31st of this month to accept.
The MWC is required by its agreement with Boise State to offer SDSU the first option to rejoin the conference before inviting anyone else. The deadline to do this is January 31st. However the agreement also says that the offer will be made under terms mutually agreeable to the MWC and SDSU. It’s been speculated that if the MWC doesn’t really want SDSU back, for example because BYU is willing to join as #12, it will just make the terms so onerous that SDSU won’t accept them.
However I think that with or without BYU, the MWC does want SDSU back — why let the Big East keep a foothold deep in our territory? — and is actively working to negotiate a fair reentry agreement right now.
If SDSU comes back as #12, and BYU could be convinced to rejoin as #13, the MWC could probably take its pick from among Houston, SMU, UTEP and Tulsa as #14. However I doubt BYU is seriously interested in giving up independence. (Yet.)
Chip Kelly staying at OU
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1473107-chip-kelly-returns-to-oregon-after-flirtation-with-nfl?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=college-football
Go ND!
If we want to recruit the best players out of Hawaii, we gotta learn how to show some respect.
Showing up after everyone else from the mainland has already made offers is not respect.
Until UH learns this, we will continue to lose the best players from Hawaii.
We have some good ones who stayed, like Lakalaka, but we will continue to lose the others too easily because we just are not on it, like the mainland schools.
It would be pretty awesome if Mountain West could get BYU back
Happy MONDAY!
Hope to hook up with koakane for the game.
GO ND!
Go Red Elephants!
@Chicken Grease
“. . . the expression “Crimson Tide” has its Catholic meaning as well.” But for ‘Bama football it is the mud.
Good morning everyone!
Skool daze already? 😉
Did anybody else see the episode of “Buying Alaska” where Jason Elam was buying an island house? I didn’t see the whole thing and it was shown a while ago, so this might have been discussed a long time ago.
The O-line was usually the bread and butter of the team in the past, hopefully we can keep up with that tradition which I think we can by experience from last year and build on that.
Roll tide!!!!
Best wishes to the boys
from Hawaii.
Roll tide!!!
This really is a “win one for the Gipper” type game. Seems all the media football “experts” are picking the Tide to roll. For ND to win they’re going to have go past the Xs and Os and dig deep within themselves. They have to not so much out play the Tide but out believe them.
Hope Manti has a Heisman worthy performance and leads his boys to a win.
How can he have a Heisman performance? He defense. They almost never win Heisman. (i.e., most recent Heisman selection of the real Manziel.)
Wonder how much NFL and NCAA powers have with regard to influencing “big” games? Bring both coaches in “make it entertaining. Or else we bring in the Illuminati. Chase you forever.” Heh.
Te’oooooo, me say Teeeeee’o. Manti’s comin to send da Elephant home! hehe
For me, I don’t care who wins the BCS game today.
I will watch, but only for entertainment – ie, if Mrs A-House says go clean the house, I will go clean the house.
Watching the bowl games over this holiday, one thing that stood out was the effectiveness of the Oline giving the QBs time, lots of time, to do all their reads/progressions on pass plays.
UH gots a long way to go!
Yes, chopsueyboy 🙂
BTW, SumTinWong is well and lurking. He sent me an email greeting a couple weeks ago.
Hahahahah, actually quite surprised to see so many “roll tide” wishes.
Hear that, Te’o? Beginning of the end. Enjoy your equivalent of costume jewelry w/all your trophies. (woulda’ had a real one if he won the Heisman. 😉 )
The “coaches conference” some have mentioned is for all coaches or selected coaches.
Wonder what project Chow is working on that he will not attend.
Thank you to Coach Trepasso for the very nice New Year card with the entire team seated at Murakami Stadium.
Hope the MLB draft does not touch any player who has committed to UH.
The game comes down to a 2 on 2 matchup:
Can Nix and Te’o deny the zone blocking of Jones and Warmack and be in position to stop Lacey and Yeldon?
After watching the SEC Championship game replay I’m not sure they can often enough to turn away the Tide.
ST:
Your power go on?
Rest of valley in total darkness at 4:24 am today – like us the other night. But, we had power!
Is this week the last “dead period” for college recruiting before NLI day?
Makes for some exciting times over the next 3 weeks.
Interesting how Coach Chip Kelly got several NFL teams all worked up about moving only to tell them today – “shove it!” If he is looking for a National Championship, forget it – neva hoppen – lose one game here or there, like against Stanford, and goobye #1 position. Same thing happend to Texas A&M.
Yet, I took Oregon and Texas A&M to win their respective bowl games.
I wish the BCS game was after work so I could watch. 🙁 No dog in the fight, but I think it should be a very good game.
As for Chow missing the Coaches Convention, me thinks he’s probably doing some “crisis management” for a number of reasons (e.g. OC and some player issues). The Scout Board has alot of yapping about “player issues” which will undoubtably require Chow to do some “damage control” especially if the allegations are true. I hope the new AD takes a good look at what’s going on the FB team…
Would’ve thought that Coach might attend the convention…..just to informally screen any potential OC candidates…..but guessing that his decision instead to stay home…..to work on administrative matters……likely means that Coach is eventually gonna hire someone he already knows and has worked with as the new OC.
I wonder when the NCAA sanctions will hit the Oregon FB program or maybe, the probe has turned up nothing, so Kelly doesn’t have anything to run from…
Would be neat if — at the end of today’s ‘bama domination — as the Hesman loser exits via tunnel, ‘Tide fans all put on a ‘bama baseball cap.
Aloha.
Chow has a tough problem with the OC situation…One: He doesn’t like to “let go of the wheel” to the OC, so whomever takes the job will have to be satisfied with the Coach messing with him. (Kinda ironic, as Chow as an OC often fought with the HCs he worked with because he wanted to run his own game…) Secondly: A decent OC isn’t cheap and UH can’t pay…We offer “slave wages” for Assistants, which is why we had to settle for the “hangers-on” over the past few years. Lastly: Chow needs to “open-up” his offense, which is contrary to his coaching upbringing…It’s gonna take awhile for him to broaden his offensive philosophy.
I remember the UH-Alabama game in 2002.
Eight of us were on the local Hawaii cruise and we were in Nawiliwil that day (different schedule back then). We got the Cruise Director to arrange for the game to be broadcast in one of the smaller bars. We rearranged the tables and set up our front row seats in front of the largest TV.
We had our own beverages– soda and 6-pk beer helmets, but got the munchies and didn’t want to miss any game by walking to the buffet. That’s when we found out that Room Service will not deliver to a bar/public space. 🙁
But eventually the lounge filled up with UH fans and around 15 Alabama fans. They sent another bar tender and a waiter from the 24-hour restaurant to take our orders. Ahhh, that’s a TV-Gate! All free too.
The Alabama fans were very gracious and said they took the cruise rather than go to the game since they thought it wouldn’t be close. It was, and they complimented Hawaii.
So who are the new warriors starting classes today?
BIK
Cheehooo… Anthony Pierce is here with 5 to play 4.
Looking like a pretty large contigent of Florida visitors (Anderson, Battle, Higdon, Jackson, McCollum, Thomas) tripping UH this weekend…..but no confirmation yet about St. Juste.
Who is Anderson?
Wonder if Barry Manilow will sing the National Anthem at today’s national championship. Ba-doink!!!!
Al intimated that the “holy grail” may be coming this weekend…I hope its St. Juste or a bigtime QB.
I wonder if al will ever find his “holy grail”?
al, how long have you been looking for him?
Al mentioned that it was Zwahlen as the QB visiting. And to address another post…..I’ve read the other boards poster who has made allegations. It’s one guy saying stuff and one or two others who say “I heard the same thing”……gotta be careful with hearsay, it’s normally one sided and one viewpoint, most likely from the slighted party….
Gotta expect that there will be player issues, especially those used to the methods of the old staff and in many cases still loyal to the friendships built. No one likes change, some will adapt and others will choose to transfer based on their individual circumstance.
We’ve seen several players choose the latter. My thoughts are only positive for those gentlemen, hopefully they go on and be the next Steele Jantz at their new programs. But nuff with spitting on chow, he has a hard enough time trying to build this program with the limited resources and sub standard leadership of recent display in the administration. He and his staff have been busting their hump on the recruiting trail and by all accounts it is paying off……still gotta get em’ into school but they got them to say yes, that is no easy task for some of these guys who have numerous offers from BCS schools and top tier D1’s….
We’ve always been able to get commits for those “border-line” qualifiers who were excellent high school FB players over the years, but they end-up not qualifying and enrolling at a JC where they just “disappear” or decide to attend another college. Tigi Hill is probably one of the few exceptions where we signed him out of HS, but he didn’t qualify and went to JC. Fortunately, the bruddah is coming back to play for the Aina, so that will be good to see. The Williams kid at Bama is one we should have had, but he didn’t qualify out of HS. I’m afraid the Waianae recruit won’t get his SAT scores to qualify, so we may likely lose him…Pretty disappointed that Koehler is going elsewhere after being offered a scholly when he was 13-14 yrs. I just hope he’s more successful than his brother if he goes elsewhere…
#77 & #78,
Sorry….meant McDonald (from Boyd Anderson HS)…..teammate with Jackson.
#83,
Like Moala & Tua’au, Hill looks like he’s still got some school work to take of…..too.
Hopefully not a repeat like some of last year’s Class of 2012 JC signees (Brown, Fields, Turner)…..who all still needed to take care of more school work.
Interesting coincidence……that all defensive players.
Everyone is human.
Someone who is fond of pointing out spelling errors in posts should check one of his.
LB Julian Gener is here, enrolled and has 3 to play 2
@43 Kekoaaaa!
Glad to hear you and Diana doing wonderfully!! Hehe, das cute regarding UHFan808! Me and Hubs have been well and are just winding down from the flurry of parties and events. Need to get back into a normal eating pattern…way too much consumed over the holidays!
Will continue to keep you and Diana in my thoughts and prayers!
mr. tsai,
i am curious. who are the 2013 warriors expected to get NFL attention. Taylor graham for sure?
Holy Grail going on a church mission. Won’t be playing until 2015.
Irony.
Country icons, The Zac Brown Band will perform the national anthem tonight. Wonder if they’ll sing their first #1 hit, Chicken Fried.
$#17!!!!! King Arthur’s coming here? To Hawaii?
A Grease has heard of unstable temporal portals of Albion? But, King Arthur? Here?!?!? GRAIL!?!?!?!?
Good evening, all!
Haaahahhahahaha, a Grease KNOWS of this band and this song. Uh. The “chicken” meanings between us differ, indeed. They’re getting THAT band to sing the National Anthem?
Man o man I hope we get all commits from the Florida gang coming in this weekend….
Pachyderm POWER!!
Advantage: Jones/Warmack and Co.
Thats what I’m talking about, lets get these Florida players to commit to the Warriors. Hopefully we get some of them this weekend.
Man (pardon the pun; pun doesn’t exist at Texas A&M, though.)
A House regarding Texas A&M. Their first game against LA Tech had to be canceled due to Hurricane Irene. Had they played that first game and was able to shake out the kinks and nerves they might have been undefeated to. Expect to see Urban Meyer and Ohio State in the big one next year.
4.0 Calen study hard!!!!
Polymom is # 100!!!!
Wow. Alabama WALLOPING Notre Dame. Didn’t expect this.
Cool! Happy New Year Chicken Grease.
Heading to Oahu to make the rounds for a couple of days. Then back to LA LA Land. 11 more months then I can retire. YES! Then I can be a full time fan.
Congrats to Brandon Jawato on his BWC POW award. Looking forward to many more…
And neither did the open-mouth-in-the-post-game. Carry on, Roll Tide. (which DOES have Catholic inferences. Coach Saban is Catholic)
Defense isn’t really . . . designed to score points, yes?
Happy defensive career with the Cleveland Browns. Enjoy.
I guess, then, Go Warriors and Go Bows must have something to do with the LDS because of both Coaches Chow and Arnold.
HA!
Anyone who has been close enuff to hear my ringtone will have heard Metallica’s version of this song:

Nuff sed, Roll Tide!
Kekoa . . .
Hope the queen, the princess, Pops and you are doing well.
Time to close up and get ready for tomorrow.
Yay . . .
Things not looking good for ND, but still get one more half.
Just gotta settle down, play ND football.
Some people accomplish nothing in life and they spend their remaining time hating on those who have…
You know who you are…
End of story.
Mahalo Wafan!
We had our usual ringing in of the NY on the ceded lands. Not as wild as in the past, but certainly as LOUD!
Holy! Alabama and those southern boys are whooping Notre Dame. ND does have 5-4 star recruits just like Alabama but Nick Saban hard, no nonsense, yelling, cussing, disciplinary style of coaching shows tonight. Alabama came out disciplined, ready to play and Nick has the game plan going. Having said that, Coach Chow uses the same philosophy and Hawaii needs some of those Southern Style Florida boys and some top local boys to dominate the MWC in the future. Go Warriors!
“ND football” hasn’t been ND football for a long time already. If this indication of alumni support . . . geez. Look at the current Coach. Is he ND-like?
After Holtz . . . that whole program simply gave up. i.e. today’s game.
Kekoa,
Hoping you folks have a terrific, health-filled New Year!
Notre Dame needs to score on this first possesion of the second half.
Soccer training online – Free soccer drills sessions for youths and kids. Informations and tips for soccer coaches. Soccer Drills Videos for Tackling, passing
The announcers keep saying Te’o and other ND defenders keep “missing tackles” as if the Consensus A-A suddenly forgot how to tackle. Meanwhile Mosley for Bama is having a good night.
The difference is Bama’s OLine with their 2 A-A’s occupying ND would be tacklers.
Nevada: Brian Polian has been officially named head coach at Nevada. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports his contract is for five years with a base annual salary of $475,000.
… in case anyone’s interested …
A Grease is interested. Thanks for that, ai-ee-soos. Nice “breaking news” mid-sorbet of this nat’ champainship domination.

Tide just steamrolling Fighting Irish. As the announcer said, this is close to a dynasty/
Enjoying Tsai-ko time with koakane!!
God chooses the Catholic coach.
Where’s that Heisman-nominated defense? What a crock.
Have fun in . . . Kansas City, where – don’t think they even know how to spell “Super Bowl” anymore.
Love seeing. QB fighting with his Center!
So, if Notre Dame loses by a larger margin than Hawaii’s 31-point deficit to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, will this prompt the national pundits to say the same thing about Notre Dame that they said about Hawaii, that the Irish “didn’t belong in a BCS bowl game”?
Nah. Actually Kirk Herbstreit just said he thinks Notre Dame will start next season in the top 10 despite the blowout. Go figure.
Congratulations Alabama. Left No Doubt.
What will the Warriors be doing in two days?
Dunno. Our b-ball Warriors are in a better mood than ND now.
We didn’t need anyone else but our University of Hawaii Warriors to beat Alabama. Which they did 🙂 .
Hard Luck Irish Fans. Much Alohaz & Luvs to our local braddah’s, Manti, Roby, and Kona. But dis game was ment for the BIG BOYS DAWG!
YEEEEEEHAWW!!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!
SEC top teams are too dominate. Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, and South Carolina all can beat ND. LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Vandy, and Miss St. are good teams too. The power is in the South.
So this is very far down the road but if McCarron goes B2B2B does he become one of the best ever CFB QB’s?
CG,
OK…you hang on to that one. 😉
Hooo, Kelly being Hal Holbeook to Te’o’s Charlie Sheen at the end of Wall Street blaming the tackling, ND barely in the locker room. Lorda’ mercy.
University of Hawaii Football Warriors beat Alabama.
Kids . . . choosing a baseball cap shpuldn’t be done with too much mystery and/or panache. OK?
Sniff sniff…no more cfb for 8 months…:(
Hahahaaha, I will, d1shima. Hey, those can say something tonight’s Fighting Irish can’t say; sorry to get all “the way of . . .” on ya’ll.
That s/b Hal Holbrook.
D-1 ~ Small steps. Improvements being noted. Ultimate goal is to travel to Warrior games beginning with Vegas!
Best to your family as well.
Go Warriors!
Bittersweet.
Undefeated regular season, chance to play for all the marbles…..topped with a lopsided loss. Bittersweet.
Kekoa,
Gambatte!
🙂
Not even that . . . even Lou Holtz, himself, in the postgame pulled no punches, saying that you gotta do the same things in the bowl game that you did to get there. ND clearly wasn’t doing that.
Talk about irony? Some went so far to do something our Warriors did — beat ‘bama.
Heh, should’ve read, “. . . went so far and failed at what our Warriors succeeded at doing — beat ‘bama.” 😉
Teo was exposed. Missed tackles against NFL type running backs. And the offensive line did with him as he pleased. He really hurt draft sock tonight against a great team
D-1 ~
Ganbarimasu…Kekoa bows at the waist and exits quietly, stage left.
HawaiianMongoose,
Probably not. Mainly because ND beat 600% more top 25 teams than Hawaii did in the regular season. Small kine difference imho.
Oyasumi, Kekoa, if you don’t mind a Grease saying 🙂 .
Duke, Notre Dame and Penn State(when Joe PA was coach).
The three teams I’ve always cheered against. Felt they were put on a pedestal by the media. The way the media fawned over Duke and PSU you’d think their coaches walked on water. ND is ND. Maybe not so much now but for the longest time ND was THE NAME in college football. It’s hard to separate fact from fiction when telling their story.
This season I jumped on the ND bandwagon only because Manti was pulling it. I’m proud of Manti. When the national spotlight shined on him he displayed all the qualites we locals hold dear. Humility and filial piety. Respect for others, you first rather than me first. Always expressed his love for Hawaii and the responsibilty he felt to represent us well.
Manti, hold your head high. (most of) The people of Hawaii are proud of you.
Trump that with how ND is 0-4 in BCS. If you were a proud Irish, a Grease sees a Warrior fan and a Fighting Irish fan could share laments at the bar.
But which of the two has more eyes on ’em? Hmmmmm . . . ah, everything is relative. And as Shakespeare would say, we could add, “ah, reputation . . .”
CG. I was at the Alabama game. Jason Whieldon played like a Drew Brees clone.
Not to take anything away from that victory but…..that capped Mike Shula’s season at 4-9.
CG. I’m not a ND fan. I’m a Te’o fan. Are you a Bama fan or a Te’o disliker?
Gloating is unbecoming to the joie de vivre image you try to project.
Fizcal suhpeeyority cainzels awl theery! And so the Tide rolled.
Kekoa –
You are in our prayers. Happy New Year to your ‘ohana!
Chicken Grease,
You have more sense than to be saying some of the things you are saying. You can’t compare on even the slightest levels the Alabama team that UH beat to the one that has been smashing opponents the past several years, especially the one that took the field tonight.
Yes, ND was outmatched, outclassed, outcoached, outplayed, however you want to say it. And yes, I do agree that Te’o did get a bit exposed. But I am pretty disappointed that there is a “kick him while he’s down” mentality to your posts.
Grease . . . you wrote “God chooses the Catholic coach” ?!?!?!?!? What is up with you man? That’s just plain ignorant.
Sad to see such disparaging comments from posters that so vehemently defend their Warriors when others criticize.
Tell me you wouldn’t want to see the Bama team that played tonight against one of the lower tier pro teams just for fun.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hey now. Don’t blame a Grease; he had nothing to do with ND performing so poorly t’night.
Kev-1 . . . Saban is Catholic.
Cocobeans . . . um. I ask in the most objective sense: how do we trust the bandwaggoner? Hmph. Not sure of the answer a Greaseself.
Back to NGN.
Grease,
Come on. You know what you are implying. Your comments have “hahaha ND and Te’o” all over them. And you are also hinting at a bit of religious bigotry too. You are not just stating facts.
CG. I’m stated I jumped on the ND bandwagon because Te’o was pulling it. Said I was a Te’o fan not a ND fan. How much more honestly can I state it.
I’ve asked you a couple of questions that you’ve evaded to answer. How do I trust a question evader.
Again I ask.
What would you have advised Manti to do if you were his father?
Are you a Bama fan or a Manti disliker?
Meant I’ve said.
CG. BTW are you a life long Bama fan or recent bandwagoner?
Another question to evade.
Nice farewell article on CU’s Brian Cabral. He plans to collect his pension, while seeking another coaching job somewhere.

good job to the three Hawaii boys who played in the Bcs championship game. proud of all of you for representing The 808 state and it was great to see three players from Hawaii on the same team playing in the Bcs championship game.it might be a while when we see three Hawaii boys playing in another championship game.
People have accused me of being a Teo hater, but that’s inaccurate. All I’ve ever said is that Teo was being overhyped, both on the field and off. Well, clearly the on the field part was proven tonight. He had a poor game and was unable to rally himself or the ND defense.
To be honest, I was actually surprised at how incapable he was of getting off blocks tonight, which is job #1 for any MLB. Of course he’ll still be drafted pretty high, but any NFL team is going to have to take a second look. No question the ‘Bama Oline was good — they may all be high NFL draft picks — but this is basically what Teo will see every game on Sundays. Honestly, he won’t be around too long if he can’t get off blocks better than he showed tonight.
Roll On….
Big Mahalo to the ND Local Boys for representing Hawaii so well. The country shared in their joy and agonized along with them in their losses. Not ashamed to say that this fan shed tears for Manti and marveled in the expression of his love on the football field…………
I can recall that sick, hollow feeling when our 12-0 Warriors were swamped by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, and can imagine the same feeling being felt by pre-BCS 12-0 ND players and boosters. Feel bad that Teo didn’t play well, but he probably feels worst. Nuff said.
