Warriors remain unranked

A little surprised by both Hawaii being unranked and Pepperdine only dropping to No. 4. Guessing coaches voted before Sunday’s outcome.

1. BYU with 15 of 16 votes

2. UCI. 3. Stanford. 4. Pepperdine. 5 UCLA. 6. Penn State (1 vote)

7. Long Beach State. 8. USC. 9. CSU Northridge. 10. Ohio State

11. Pacific. 12. UC Santa Barbara. 13. UC San Diego. 14. Cal Baptist. 15. Lewis, 39 points.

Hawaii with 34 points is 16th. Harvard 3, Loyola-Chicago 2.

Those losses to PSU and ohio state are keeping them off the rankings still.

    They got gypped (no offense)!

Lewis has no business, imo, being on this list.

Still…fuel for the collective inner fire.

Any word on the supposed meeting that Dave was to have had with the NCAA (in route back to Hawai’i’ from Germany/ND)?

He was to have run a couple of ideas by the committee for Top 16 seeds and their hosting.

Cindy, now that it seem like the BYU-UH football game is going to be cancelled, and the MWC is proposing a Championship Game the 1st Saturday of December. That opens up the opportunity for the Wahine Volleyball Team to host the 1st and 2nd round on Friday and Saturday, instead of Thursday & Friday. Gives the other teams an extra day to get out to Hawaii, does it not?

Haven’t seen Shoji since I’ve got back.

I don’t think so re the losses to Penn State and Ohio State Both ranked teams. As for Lewis, no one cares about the poll really. It is meaningless. 16 people vote. And I still think people voted before seeing Sunday’s result. Pepperdine wasn’t that affected 2 to 4.

Cindy, was not looking for you to ask Shoji, I just wanted your opinion on the subject. I mean, by having that Saturday date open now, it gives the Selection committee one less excuse not for the Wahine to host.

Cindy, actually, in Men’s Volleyball, the polls do not really mean much. What matters is that the Men’s Volleyball Team is one of 8 teams to make the MPSF Tournament, and are peaking when the Tournament comes around.

Sorry, Cindy, did not realize you were responding to Msrpantola1’s question.

DF, it might stay open or they might try to fill it with another opponent. IF it’s open, it would help the Wahine’s bid to host.

In my opinion, it is the Warrior Volleyball Team’s goal to at least take 1 match from Stanford, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Northridge, and USC. Then run the table on the bottom half of the MPSF Teams. That should get them into the MPSF Tournament. Where anything can happen.

Siki is MPSF player of the week. Congrats. It’s an honor well earned.
