    will update later. much later.

  6. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:24 pm

Didn’t get in time for set one but got in a lil after set 2 started. I’m guessing Timmer didn’t do well in set 1 bc Phelps(sp?) is playing now and is doing all right.

It’s real close UH leading only by 1: 24 to 23. Cmon Warriors close this set!

  7. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:27 pm

Oh dear, tied at 24… But tritons with the service error, UH with set pt… Timmer in to serve and Olsen with the kill, UH wins set 2.

  8. jmy April 13, 2013 4:30 pm

UH-UCSD all tied up…Not looking very hopeful for CSUN at the Pyramid…

  9. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:32 pm

Update: Long Beach State leads CSUN 2 sets to none, and leads in set 3

  10. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 4:33 pm

Northridge doesn’t deserve to go to the playoffs, get it done warriors!

  11. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:38 pm

    Set 3 UCSD lead by 1, 11-10

  12. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 4:41 pm

I dont like the way this set is going ugh.

  13. jmy April 13, 2013 4:44 pm

Beach just swept CSUN…Now UH controls its own destiny…

  14. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 4:46 pm

JMY unfortunately they are letting set 3 slip away and will probably have to win this in 5 , sigh.

  15. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 4:49 pm

Okay this set 3 is turning pathetic.

  16. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:50 pm

Geez I go away for a few min only to find out UH is trailing by a lot in set 3. Oh mannnn. What the heck happened?

That one female is obnoxious. shaaaad up already

  17. jmy April 13, 2013 4:50 pm

SD spreading the offense…UH with only two players playing well…

  18. vlimafan April 13, 2013 4:55 pm

UCSD wins set 3, leads match 2 sets to 1… I’m nervous

  19. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 4:55 pm

I don’t know what the heck Wade is doing with the lineup it’s all over the place, and taking a time out down 18-24?? umm why did he save it for that long.

  20. jmy April 13, 2013 4:56 pm

UH being outhit .202 to .329…Tough to win with that kind of hitting…

  21. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:00 pm

Sedore is hitting a good percentage but can he carry alone the team offensively . It’s unfortunate that UH doesn’t have solid OH reserves.

  22. jmy April 13, 2013 5:00 pm

Davis Holt has just sort of disappeared…

  23. jmy April 13, 2013 5:01 pm

Is Siki with the team? I thought I had read that he was available if needed…News Flash: HE’S NEEDED!

  24. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:01 pm

    Set 4, tied at 4

  25. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:06 pm

Siki is there and suited up but Blaine said Siki hobbled after he tried jumping… during warm ups I think

  26. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:09 pm

Oops forgot to say that Blaine doesn’t think Siki is going to play.

On a bright note, Sedore is doing fantastic in set 4

  27. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:09 pm

Where the heck is Nick West??? i dont get Wade.

  28. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:12 pm

If Jace is our best backup OH, then Wade has done a horrible job recruiting that position.

  29. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:13 pm

Wow… Olsen… Ugh. Why was Wade high on him at the beginning of the season? Haven’t been impressed with him all season.

    UH 14, UCSD 13

  30. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:15 pm

#27 Warriorfan, Nick is playing in this set

  31. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:18 pm

Geeez thank goodness for Sedore. He’s keeping UH alive. A-MA-ZINNNNNNNG

    UH 18, UCSD 17

  32. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:22 pm

Oh… my… god… Olsen cannot find the court AT ALL. I’d take him out and put back Phelps in.

    UH 22 UCSD 19

  33. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:25 pm

Sedore is doing it all in set 4… But if they go to 5, he seriously will need help from his teammates…

  34. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:27 pm

UH wins set 4, 25-21… If Olsen starts in the 5th, I sure hope he steps it up a few notches.

  35. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:27 pm

Wow way to go Brook , single handidly keeping UH in this. he has been Jonas like tonight.

  36. jmy April 13, 2013 5:27 pm

On to set 5 in UCSD vs. Brook Sedore…

  37. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:34 pm

    Set 5: UCSD 6, UH 4

  38. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:36 pm

UH comes back to take a one pt lead: UH 7, UCSD 6… Time out UCSD

  39. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:41 pm

Wade needs to GET it that Nick West needs to be starting geez why doesn’t he get it???

  40. jmy April 13, 2013 5:41 pm

Why didn’t Nick West start, or at least enter sooner?

  41. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:42 pm

    UH 9, UCSD 8. t/o UH… Sedore kill makes it UH 10-8

  42. jmy April 13, 2013 5:45 pm

    UH up 12-9…

  43. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:46 pm

Wow sounds like an amazing rally went on w/ a triple blk by the Bows to end it UH 12 UCSD 9

  44. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:46 pm

    finish it warriors.

  45. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:47 pm

UCSD is a horrible serving team maybe worse than UH 🙂

  46. vlimafan April 13, 2013 5:49 pm

Haha! Olsen finally with a kill to end it! UH wins it.. 15-11

    CONGRATS WARRIORS!

  47. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:50 pm

    Yay Playoffs.
Should have beat Northridge, Cal Baptist and UCSB to face Long beach instead of BYU.
But that’s all moot, since they got it done. Now need to find a way to get Siki and JP to play against BYU to have some kind of chance.

  48. jmy April 13, 2013 5:50 pm

    UH wins it…on to BYU…

  49. Purple&Green April 13, 2013 5:52 pm

    Cindy,

    They win it!!

    25-27, 26-24, 18-25, 25-21, 15-11

    Provo here we come. 🙂
    ..BRRR

  50. jmy April 13, 2013 5:53 pm

Can’t you just hear a collective groan coming from Northridge, CA…

  51. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 5:59 pm

Northridge didn’t deserve a playoff spot after really imploding they lost something like 9 our of their last 10 matches (yikes) . I think they shot their wad at the SSC lol

  52. volleyball fan April 13, 2013 6:18 pm

Few of us believed that UH would make the playoffs and I admit that I was one of those doubters. Roby Ramos and company should thank his former team UOP for upsetting Northridge back in March 30th. That was one dramatic match as I read on the UOP website as all the sets won were only by two points. Anyone curious can look up this link:
    http://pacifictigers.com/sports/m-volley/2012-13/releases/201303311wd4pp

It was even more dramatic than tonight’s match, really fingernail thin there. As for tonight, reading the stats, it was Brook Sedore who carried the team on his back. He should make MPSF player of the week and I nominate him.

Hope that Siki can join the team next week to make a respectable effort. Again, like tonight I won’t be able to watch the match, but I don’t worry about it. I’m sure that Charlie Wade is thrilled to make the playoffs but it will be even more important for his team to do so next year for him to retain his job. If he can just recruit Eric Enriques from the Big Island for 2015, that would be a feather in his nest. Good luck there.

  53. Warriorfan April 13, 2013 6:25 pm

I thnk UH can have a really great year next year IF
    1. They get a better setter ( no offense to Wechsung and Ramos) Maybe Franciskovic is that guy
    2. They get a great libero because I am not sold on Kanetake or Phelps. The Punahou or Miracosta liberos were very impressive.
    3. They get another OH that is ready to step in when JP/Siki/Brook Struggle, someone better than Jace ( maybe Fey is that guy)

  54. Purple&Green April 13, 2013 6:30 pm

    Please.

  55. volleyball fan April 13, 2013 8:59 pm

jmy, since you mentioned a collective groan from Northridge, I’ll quote what their website had to say. I know you’ll be curious to hear.

“After opening the season-ending road swing with a 3-0 win at No. 6 Stanford on Mar. 29, the Matadors dropped their final five matches but still had a chance to reach the MPSF Tournament for the 11th time in the last 12 years even after losing to Long Beach State.

However CSUN’s longest losing streak since 2011 proved to be one loss too many as Hawai’i passed the Matadors to grab the eighth and final MPSF Tournament spot on the final night of the regular season.

“We’ve made the playoffs 11 out of the last 12 years, so this is an unusual thing for our team,” said Matador head coach Jeff Campbell. “It’s disappointing from that perspective…”

  56. Lina April 13, 2013 9:13 pm

I think Hawaii will be better next year with a year of experience under their belts. However, they will need to find a really good Libero, and Setter (unless Ramos can improve) to be competitive with the upper echelon of the MPSF. Other that that, I am expecting Marks, Siki, Holt, and Sedore to mature and cut down on all of their stupid mental mistakes, that we’d see them make so much this season.

  57. Cindy Luis April 13, 2013 10:23 pm

    51. CSUN had a brutal schedule to finish the season, particularly their last four matches all on the road. Standings show how close the league was
