Wahine 2013 schedule announced

We had the home schedule posted already

Here’s the complete schedule, minus the pairings for the Sept. 20-21 Wichita State tourney and Nov. 15. they’ve talked about it being a match against the sand team, or one of the DII schools or a Japnese team.

    OK but where is it,I don’t see any schedule,got a link ?

  2. LC May 15, 2013 3:22 pm

Never mind found it on twitter. Good old twitter what would we do without twitter. 🙂

  3. Cindy Luis May 16, 2013 7:10 am

thanks Robin. Don’t know what’s going on with our server. I had posted the complete schedule yesterday and now it’s just a blank box

  4. Cindy Luis May 16, 2013 7:18 am

hoping that it’s not a blank box now.

  5. Warriorfan May 16, 2013 7:18 am

So just noticed Uh is looking for a new assistant? I wonder if its Hall or Carney that is leaving. I really liked Carney.

Hoping for alums like Hakala or Zimet to be hired.

  6. Warriorfan May 16, 2013 7:38 am

Actually just hoping Wade hires someone who is a good recruiter and can help the team with it’s blocking.

  7. Purple&Green May 16, 2013 8:16 am

Was holding out on this one for a few days..
(& take it or leave it, hah?, ;-))

    The final 2012 AVCA Poll: UW-#9, UH-#11, WSU-#23, Creighton-#24
Hawai’i, ABSOLUTELY!, confirmed; as the other schools don’t necessarily need the RPI boost like a quasi-desperate Wahine do. Yet, Long Beach will be a BW Top 25 team for the 2013 wvb season.

    Friday, Sep 20 @ 11am
    Hawai’i vs. UW

    Friday, Sep 20 @ 7pm
    WSU vs. Hawai’i

    Saturday, Sep 21 @ 4pm
    Hawai’i vs. Creighton

    Saturday, Sep 21 @ 6:30pm
    WSU vs. UW

    Sunday, Sep 22 @ 12pm
    WSU vs. Creighton*

    * Conference Games

Friday, Nov 15–I SAY–vs. UH SVB team. A Japanese team won’t come out in the middle of their own pro season.
Nittaidai for ONLY one match vs. UH and non-existent Div.II schools..who’ll have wrapped up their own fall schedules…I don’t think so!

  8. LC May 16, 2013 11:07 am

I’m thinking they could possibly be 8-1 heading into the Wichita State Tournament

  9. LC May 16, 2013 11:37 am

    Breaking News:

Jane kills her Twitter and Facebook accounts.

    Jane won’t be back.

No wait Jane will be back.

Sorry false report Jane won’t be back.

Hold on I’m getting something in my ear piece.

    What’s that ?

Ok got it but are you sure ?

Hold on folks we got a fluid situation going on here.

We’ll be back right after this commercial.

  10. ladida May 16, 2013 1:14 pm

Jane to her Oahu cousin “aw I’m going to miss you too”. Killing both accounts, don’t take a rocket scientist to figure out she’s leaving as soon as the semester’s pau.

  11. LC May 16, 2013 1:37 pm

Well rocket scientist semester was over May 11th. Final grades released yesterday May 15th, same day she shutdown both accounts.

Word on the Blvd, academically ineligible but I was hoping for something from a credible source.

  12. Warriorfan May 16, 2013 1:38 pm

Eh I’ll wait for the UHAD website to announce something before speculating about some vague twitter comment.

As far as I am concerned If she stays then good, if she goes, then good.

  13. LC May 16, 2013 1:53 pm

Twitter and Facebook accounts are like the sleep function on a computer, you can resurrect them.

With twitter you have 30 days before it goes away forever with Facebook it never goes away.

Several of our players have used this function in the past why I don’t know maybe just game playing.

  14. meimei May 16, 2013 3:23 pm

Perhaps she will find Volley-ball enjoyable again- whether it be here or somewhere else … Best wishes !

  15. ladida May 16, 2013 3:32 pm

Just speaking in general, a question arises about academic eligibility. If a student/athlete is academically ineligible after spring ends at an institution like UH would that student be eligible at another D1 institution with the current academic standing come next fall semester. Thinking that next D1 school has lower academic standards than UH. Or is that question too hairy with too many loose ends?

  16. LC May 16, 2013 4:41 pm

Ineligible here ineligible everywhere would be my guess.Just like the Falyn case.

  17. rayson May 16, 2013 5:04 pm

Doesn’t an student athlete need to earn a certain amount of credits every semester to show academic progress? It is possible that they could make up those credits in the summer.

  18. LC May 16, 2013 5:18 pm

    18 yes it is possible.

  19. vballfreak808 May 16, 2013 7:01 pm

Shoji was on the radio today and they were talking about the schedule and he said Washington most likely won’t be in the Wichita State tournament and it might be Missouri State instead.

  20. LC May 16, 2013 7:29 pm

Something isn’t right here Anne Miller said Creighton,Wichita State,Washington and Hawai’i

Creighton,Wichita State and Missouri State are all in the same conference how can this be a tournament ?

    Now I’m really confused.

  21. Warriorfan May 16, 2013 7:44 pm

What’s so hard to understand? Creighton and Wichita St probably won’t play each other, or if they do play each other it will be an out of conference match, like how the UH men play UCLA before MPSF play every year.

  22. Warriorfan May 16, 2013 7:49 pm

I was really hoping to get revenge on UW, oh well. This will be a much easier road trip than I thought although the shockers should be tough at home.

  23. Purple&Gold May 17, 2013 6:19 am

An even more crappy schedule than I could’ve ever imagined.

What?..no body wants to play the Rainbows?!

  24. Purple&Gold May 17, 2013 6:29 am

They’ve consequently fallen, quite officially moreover, into the un-‘challengable’ mid-major role.

    undeniably SAD. really

  25. Warriorfan May 17, 2013 6:47 am

    25. LOL what an illiterate Nutso,
    anyway moving on,.

Cindy have you heard a word on which men’s assistant is leaving? Carney or Hall?

  26. Cubicle1126 May 17, 2013 6:59 am

i love when purple&gold tries to use big words … 😉 lol

  27. Msrpantoja1@Huh.'A'loha May 17, 2013 7:41 am

Iowa State as a replacement?..the issue is that so late in the preseason everyone is already in conference.

BYU, on one of their trips west, should fly out to UH (Nov. 15).

    IF not…dunno!
Forget MO State. It ends up being a three team tourney in any/all cases.

THEY ‘M’UST GO 24-1 ON THE SEASON FOR ANY CHANCE(S)!!; U$C has had a similar schedule in the not too distant past.

TX, San Diego, UCLA, WSU, LBSU (2X) w/ the one loss coming during conference–@ LB only.

Also, Shoji/Lamb should phone the rep–ASAP–for the Iowa Ice team to have them play an exibition as a part of this WSU preseason “tourney” there in Kansas.

    Friday, Sep 20 @ 4p
    Hawaii vs. Creighton/MO State

    Friday, Sep 20 @ 6:30p
    WSU vs. The Ice

    Saturday, Sep 21 @ 11a
    Hawaii vs. The Ice

    Saturday, Sep 21 @ 7p
    WSU vs. Hawaii

    Sunday, Sep 22 @ 12pm
    WSU vs. Creighton/MO State

    Bombastic. That’s a word.
Some of ‘Cindy’s “followers”‘ are a more and more a bunch of turds.
    😉

  28. LC May 17, 2013 8:04 am

I’ll wait until the schedule reflects who is involved and when.I’m not going to bang my head against the wall trying to figure it out

Someone at the SA please fix the problems going on with the SA blogs. The difficulties posting has been going on for days.

  29. Warriorfan May 17, 2013 8:11 am

It’s not all the blogs though, I had no problems posting on Tsai’s blog.
Btw LC what do you think of the reason Ben Jay is giving for sticking with Rainbows??

  30. LC May 17, 2013 8:20 am

I have no idea what is in the mind of Ben Jay.The Rainbow thing has been part of the Wahine VB program forever and still is.I’m not a big football or basketball fan.

  31. Purple&Green May 17, 2013 9:54 am

    Cindy,

    Where are you?!

What can you add to anything being said?

I know that you care about the UH and their successes to a degree. Of course UCLA is always tops, presumably.
Kinda like that dude on VT who I’d presume lives on Maui. He likes UH ’cause they’re HI’s team, but Penn State is truly his team/alma mater. & knowlingly, there’s nothing wrong with this except that can individuals really claim to be part of “da Ohana”??
    …I’m just asking too.

McLaughlin/Stanford is another one who comes to mind as well.

    No pilikia, hah?
    🙂

  32. LC May 17, 2013 10:01 am

I know people who have never been to Hawai`i who claim Wahine VB is their team.

  33. Purple&Gold May 17, 2013 10:05 am

Now do these same “people” also come from MN as you do?

I can count at least two others–dedicatedfan, ladeda–who are also MN/HI fans.
    😉

  34. LC May 17, 2013 10:25 am

You are dedicatedfan,Msrpantoja1@Huh.’A’loha and many others, po’okela

  35. Purple&Green May 17, 2013 10:42 am

Don’t anyone forget about ‘Flexible Flyer’ also.

Po’okela now lives in Germany; dad gives him all the 4-1-1.

  36. LC May 17, 2013 10:53 am

    Don’t forget Clinton either

  37. Cindy Luis May 17, 2013 1:23 pm

Where am I? I was on yesterday. commented that our SA site was having problems. I couldn’t access the blog either.
Am surprised that either Hall or Carney would be leaving. They both were scouting at the state tournament.
As for Shoji: heard part of what he said, which included some comments on UW. They asked him about the UW tournament, which had been bandied about, he said it didn’t work out. Said that he thought the Wichita State tourney had some pretty high RPI.
Re Croson: can’t imagine that she’d go from academic all-BWC to ineligible. Players have to show academic progress either to continue to play the following semester and for sure to transfer. Players can make it up in summer school, depending on how many credits they need.
Fonoimoana was a different situation. She was declared academically ineligible after the fall semester so she was ineligible in spring. She continued to be academically ineligible after spring. So when she got to UH she had a whole year to make up. and it sounded like she spent more time at football practice than anywhere on campus.

  38. Cindy Luis May 17, 2013 1:24 pm

P&G, I do care about my alma mater but it’s not like it has ever gotten in the way of my coverage of UH.

  39. Cindy Luis May 17, 2013 1:31 pm

    6. Hakala still playing pro. he and Bown are in Europe. Zimet at USF, coaching both indoor and sand.

  40. Cindy Luis May 17, 2013 1:38 pm

P&G: non-existent DII schools? They will not have wrapped up their schedule by then. BYUH played UH this past season on Nov. 8. If the PacWest schedule is anything like last year, there was over a two week break between the last PacWest match and the DII national tournament starting. So DII match on the 18th makes some sense, although it probably would be more fun to see the sand team out there.

  41. Warriorfan May 17, 2013 2:03 pm

Thanks Cindy I thought Lauri was still coaching at Pepperdine with their women’s team for some reason.
If one of the coaches left I hope it was Hall and not Carney, no offense to Jeff Hall.

  42. Cindy Luis May 18, 2013 1:32 pm

    42. there is a new thread on Carney leaving that I posted yesterday.

  43. Purple&Green May 18, 2013 5:19 pm

Getting ‘Around’ this year’s Wahine VB Schedule: “To You From Me, Pinky Lee!”
    BYU will be a Top 25 4 Friday, November 15, 2013

QUID PRO QUO Time (ask Shoji..he’ll know vaguely what’s meant) esp. as it pertains too…
BYUH, [BYU, Na Wahine, and UH SVB]

**Do get those Cougars to O’ahu**
& perhaps get Ben Jay in on the loop as well, but

BYU-Provo flys out Wed. Nov. 13, redeye most likely
BYU-Provo sleeps in Thursay Nov. 14, perhaps out in Laie?

    Hawai’i vs. BYU-Provo @ 11a Friday Nov. 15, with Live Stats/Radio AM Coverage/Patrons

BYUH vs. BYU-Provo @ 7pm Friday Nov. 15 @ the Cannon Cntr, Laie
    Hawai’i vs. UH SVB @ 7pm Friday Nov. 15 @ the SSC

BYU-Provo flys out Saturday Nov. 16, Honolulu-Los Angeles/Salt Lake City?
BYU-Provo attends church Sunday Nov. 17, at a temple of their choosing

It needs to be done now.
    Cindy??

  44. Purple&Green May 18, 2013 5:22 pm

    @39.
    iby CL, yes

  45. Cindy Luis May 19, 2013 6:43 am

    44. interesting scenario. not happening. BYU still in their WCC season during the date you propose.
UH would never play an 11 a.m. game on a Friday morning.
    no idea what IBY means.
