USA men take 2 from Iran
Christanson had a very good series vs. Iran the past two nights, had a combined 8 aces in the FIVB World League matches.
Erik Shoji solid at libero. Kawika Shoji used a serving sub. Libero Alfee Reft didn’t play.
US plays Russian Friday and Saturday at Long Beach State

Any insight to Reft’s chances to getting any playing time? Is he no longer an assistant at Minnesota?
Alfee’s been gone from Minnesota for a while.
They need a second libero in case of injury. Don’t know how realistic his chances of playing are. E. Shoji considered one of the best liberos, if not the best in the world.
Reft is a very good Libero; but, unfortunate for him, he’s playing behind Eric Shoji. No one is going to unseat the Eric from his position. He’s kind of in the same boat as Kawika who’s an excellent setter but is, unfortunate for him, playing behind Micah.
Hasn’t Reft been training with the NT since 2005? Long stint to be a back-up.
