COMMENTS

  1. H-Man September 11, 2015 7:00 pm

Wow, Halassan looks imposing. Touches 11-3. She should be able to slam-dunk a basketball.

  2. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:03 pm

    1. yes mentioned in my story that she touched 11-3

Fair warning from the posters on previous thread.
If you want to get into shouting matches with each other, take it outside or take it to VT. no more bullying or trying to get away with names by using ****

  3. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:04 pm

Only lineup change is Mitchem for Maglio

  4. Maverick September 11, 2015 7:06 pm

I had a feeling Mitchem would start because of her physicality and potential to disrupt or counter Alhassan.

  5. z September 11, 2015 7:09 pm

    Line Nikki.

  6. z September 11, 2015 7:12 pm

Teams seem to be attacking the gap between Savanah and Tai.

  7. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:15 pm

    Florida up 12-7. TO UH

  8. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:16 pm

Think you have to consider playing Granato for Olevao in the backrow and brining in Koelsch to play frontrow, Recek has no problem with Higgins block so far.

  9. WaWa September 11, 2015 7:17 pm

I called that lineup a few blogs ago. Mitchem replacing Maglio, but sliding over to M1 while Magill slides over to M2. Keeping the OHs the same, but using subs as a relief.

  10. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:18 pm

Think you’ll see Koelsch in soon. only because both Hall and Ah Mow-Santos are talking to her on the bench.

  11. z September 11, 2015 7:18 pm

This is the rotation Magill needs the slide.

  12. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:19 pm

UH just continues to not capitlize on freeballs.

  13. WaWa September 11, 2015 7:20 pm

What is Tai doing, trying to set the 2nd ball and trying to pass the free ball? Both balls belonged to Kahakai which in turned took Tai out of the offense and block just stacked onto Nikki Taylor. Aiyah! Trying to do too much again to compensate for her passing.

  14. Willie September 11, 2015 7:21 pm

So far Florida has no weakness, diging everything, serves tough, hits hard and smart, receive and pass well and a great big block. Way better team than UCLA at this point. There just bigger and stronger too. But the night is still young and Bows all in with heart and effort; they are looking good too, just steady out Bows!

  15. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:21 pm

I would say watch the match. UH closes to 15-12. TO Florida

  16. z September 11, 2015 7:22 pm

Bows force Wise to call a time out.

  17. T103 September 11, 2015 7:23 pm

I expect UH to not be straight out of the gates up and up w/ Florida. AND I’m really glad to see that b/c Florida’s game of play is much more intense UH is responding well. Both teams are just ripping balls at each other, great digs. but that Florida middle though… Lets go Bows!!

  18. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:24 pm

Good job for wahine to come back and get a little closer, but another missed opportunity on a free ball.
Bring in Granato to play back row please.

  19. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:25 pm

Florida has weakness. They had 18 services errors last night. none so far. Wise said they’d work on that.

  20. z September 11, 2015 7:27 pm

    Holston dinking. Come on.

  21. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:29 pm

I’m hoping Kahakai can pick up her game, she’s not playing well so far. Olevao is playing much better offensively.

  22. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:30 pm

Goodness another blown opportunity on a freeball. 🙁

  23. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:33 pm

UH just making too many errors, I think they served well enough but isn’t playing well offensively and defensively.

  24. z September 11, 2015 7:33 pm

When Florida dinks nobody there. When Hawaii dinks everybody there.

  25. Maverick September 11, 2015 7:35 pm

A big problem I’m seeing is UH’s slow starts. As the announcers mentioned, this is the fourth match this season that UH has dropped the first set.

  26. Willie September 11, 2015 7:35 pm

I did see one service error by Florida in the 1st set by the awesome middle attacker. That UF #3 is so smart and diverse, she seems to hover for a split second more before placing her hits, with various speeds.

  27. Maverick September 11, 2015 7:36 pm

Middles set 7 out of 38 times. Not good.

  28. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:36 pm

sorry, think weather playing havoc with internet in the arena. Florida wins 25-18.
did you see Magil run a slide? Florida hit 273, UH 132. Florida 3-2 in blocks. 16-13 edge in digs. Alhassan 3-0-4, Recek 6-1-9. Taylor 6-4-16, Manu-Olevao 3-1-10.

  29. H-Man September 11, 2015 7:37 pm

All season long, Wahine has trouble picking up the dink. Way too many finding the floor. Why?

  30. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:37 pm

UH also hasn’t dropped Set 2 this season.

  31. z September 11, 2015 7:38 pm

    That’s the shot Tai.

  32. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:42 pm

I’d serve Holston all the time, she can’t pass.

  33. warriorfan September 11, 2015 7:51 pm

Got too slow down Recek, she’s getting way too many kills.

  34. z September 11, 2015 7:51 pm

    Faked out.

  35. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:51 pm

Racek with her 10th kill. no one up because everyone committed middle. Florida up 15-14 at the TTO

  36. Maverick September 11, 2015 7:52 pm

    29. If UH doesn’t play better, that streak will be over tonight.

  37. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 7:58 pm

Hawaii got a break when that was called long. Koelsch on the over pass. 20-19 UH. TO Gators.

  38. Andrew September 11, 2015 7:59 pm

Geez that linesman sure missed that call..

  39. z September 11, 2015 7:59 pm

    Refs trying to help us?

  40. Don September 11, 2015 7:59 pm

I wonder what Dave was so upset about that he was talking to Dickson so aggressively.

  41. z September 11, 2015 8:00 pm

    Mags.

  42. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:01 pm

good rally. Koelsch dump in the net. 20-

  43. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:02 pm

Calls have gone against Hawaii most of the time this season. Florida’s been into the net a couple of times. not called

  44. z September 11, 2015 8:03 pm

I am just watching their libero.

  45. Willie September 11, 2015 8:04 pm

Whoa, #9 has a howitzer! Wahine playing tough!

  46. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:04 pm

Taylor with the solo on Mallette. UH up 24-22. TO Florida.

  47. z September 11, 2015 8:05 pm

Nikki came to play. What a dig.

  48. H-Man September 11, 2015 8:05 pm

Wahine looks as good as Florida who seems a little intimidated by Hawaii’s Nikki Taylor.

  49. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:07 pm

what a great rally. Magill has been working on her setts. UH wins 25-22.

  50. Maverick September 11, 2015 8:08 pm

Best point I’ve seen all season gets UH the second set. Wow, great volleyball on both sides.

  51. Willie September 11, 2015 8:08 pm

2nd set streak lives, albeit linesman aided. I see that #8 Mitchem looks lost out there and a second slow. Anyone else notice this?

  52. Don September 11, 2015 8:08 pm

I counted 2 overreaches by Flori

  53. volley September 11, 2015 8:08 pm

epic rallys. liv even setting and some more middles parrying the ball.

  54. HawaiiMongoose September 11, 2015 8:11 pm

Amazing last point. Epic is right!

  55. Don September 11, 2015 8:11 pm

    My comment got cut..

2 missed overreach calls on Florida on that final rally. Robyn was almost on the court, furious with the no call.

  56. volley September 11, 2015 8:12 pm

i recall em mags did deflected the ball vs ucla. that not mentioned.

  57. z September 11, 2015 8:13 pm

    50. Game a little fast for her. Need more playing time.

  58. Maverick September 11, 2015 8:15 pm

Must win third set for UH. I don’t think UH has the consistency or mentality to come back from 2-1 down against a top 5 team. Hope we don’t have to find out tonight.

  59. warriorfan September 11, 2015 8:16 pm

Amazing second set, Florida defense is shaky other than their libero who is fantastic, I think UH can pull this off, the hitters are all playing much better than UCLA.

  60. WaWa September 11, 2015 8:16 pm

#50, if you ever got the chance to see the YouTube videos of her at IVC, you would have probably notice that yes, she is physical and overpowering because she was also playing against smaller blocks, but another thing I noticed is that she wasn’t quick on transition. It kind of also looked as if she was just going through the motions. But now that she is at this level, you can tell that she’s just not naturally agile and explosive.

  61. jmy September 11, 2015 8:21 pm

I don’t know how it looks to other people, but the Gators look very beatable…UH could have possibly won that first set (or made it a lot closer) if they didn’t squander so many opportunities to convert…however you see it, UF so far doesn’t look like the invincible #2 team I thought they would be…

  62. warriorfan September 11, 2015 8:21 pm

oh boy awful start, not sure why UH struggles so much on freeeballs but the setting just isn’t as precise as Florida’s.

  63. Maverick September 11, 2015 8:21 pm

    UH with another slow start.

  64. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:22 pm

    Florida up 5-1. TO UH.

  65. Maverick September 11, 2015 8:23 pm

UH middles served 13 out of 84 times. Atrocious.

  66. Willie September 11, 2015 8:23 pm

    #56 & #59, thanks for the insight

  67. z September 11, 2015 8:23 pm

About time they call the foot fault.

  68. T103 September 11, 2015 8:33 pm

I think I am most impressed by communication by Florida when they are playing. Hardly ever see them run into each other or miscues. Hawaii can take a few pointers from them. Still hanging tough w/ them in set 3. They need to continue serving tough to keep them out of system, and convert on free balls! Go bows!

  69. Andrew September 11, 2015 8:34 pm

Man, Maggluo sure hit some hammers

  70. Andrew September 11, 2015 8:34 pm

    i*

  71. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:34 pm

said that last night that Florida looked beatable, especially when their serving goes south.

  72. z September 11, 2015 8:35 pm

    They can’t block Holston.

  73. Willie September 11, 2015 8:35 pm

Wish the libero#15 will settle and play more consistent. Too many unforced errors to go with her otherwise stellar play.

  74. z September 11, 2015 8:36 pm

Bad set dave calls time out.

  75. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:36 pm

good thought by Greeley to go line but tossed it wide. Florida up 18-15. TO UHl

  76. HawaiiMongoose September 11, 2015 8:37 pm

Holston is killing us. She’s a true terminator.

  77. Andrew September 11, 2015 8:40 pm

    Tai is playing well tonight

  78. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:41 pm

ace by Higgins brings Hawaii to 22-19. TO Gators

  79. z September 11, 2015 8:42 pm

Now Tayler needs to keeo her serve in. She has a tendency to hit it into the net after an ace.

  80. Willie September 11, 2015 8:43 pm

Can #4 play libero? Boy I really miss Ali Longo back there!

  81. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:44 pm

Huff for Greeley on the left,

  82. Willie September 11, 2015 8:45 pm

Like I said UF #3 is so smart and a cool cookie

  83. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 8:46 pm

Actually Huff flopped with Taylor on the right. Puts down the kill. overpass by Kahakai gets put down. 25-22

  84. warriorfan September 11, 2015 8:47 pm

Kahakai not playing well, give Anderson a chance.

  85. Pete Jek September 11, 2015 8:48 pm

The margin of error for the Wahine is infinitesimal.

  86. Willie September 11, 2015 8:48 pm

Against this kind of National power team, the weakness at libero is apparent and exposed in my opinion. Comparing this to the libero play for at least the last 7 years.

  87. HawaiiMongoose September 11, 2015 8:48 pm

Got to find a way to get Huff on the court. The Wahine need heavier hitting.

  88. volley September 11, 2015 8:54 pm

shoji needs 2 liberos. bring in claire

  89. z September 11, 2015 8:55 pm

They hitting the ball between Magill’s arms.

  90. warriorfan September 11, 2015 8:56 pm

Florida got away with a foot fault,

  91. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:04 pm

The only thing keeping UH in the match is Florida’s serving errors. Florida hitting for ridiculous percentage.

  92. loyd September 11, 2015 9:04 pm

Pls stay TAYLOY on the opposite…. she is very effective there than LEFT

  93. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:05 pm

UH has tied it at 12. to Florida

  94. volley September 11, 2015 9:06 pm

savannah getting better. they need to stop holston, if not block then deflect.

  95. z September 11, 2015 9:06 pm

    Block Holston.

  96. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:06 pm

    89. it’s not just the SEs. give UH offense some credit.

  97. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:09 pm

    yes, the refs are horrible.

  98. z September 11, 2015 9:10 pm

    Kendra doing a good job.

  99. z September 11, 2015 9:11 pm

    Yeah Holston got blocked.

  100. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:11 pm

finally a block on Holston. UH up 18-15. TO Gators

  101. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:11 pm

    93. That offense is hitting 130 pst lower than Florida. Without those SEs and serve receive errors, Florida would be farther ahead in this match. I expect UH to hit around mid-.200s. That won’t do against Florida. They need Florida to make errors to keep pace.

  102. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:11 pm

I think Hawaii’s found a starting lineup, Koelsch and Maglio, with Huff first off the bench hitting wise.

  103. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:18 pm

    Manu-Olevao ends it 25-17

  104. Andrew September 11, 2015 9:18 pm

The best Hawaii has looked all season by far

  105. volley September 11, 2015 9:18 pm

yes! take it to a 5 set thriller! lets go bows!

  106. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:19 pm

Finally UH playing mega-defense to get this to a fifth set. And yes, Cindy, I admit the offense finally woke up. TMO and Greeley have been great in this third set.

  107. z September 11, 2015 9:20 pm

Just got start fast. Keep the mo going.

  108. kimo browner September 11, 2015 9:20 pm

@WF. Agree. Kahakai w a cat bounce in set 4.

  109. T103 September 11, 2015 9:20 pm

@Maverick I don’t care if they are self-imploding with SE’s, a set is a set , we taking them to game 5! Go bows! keep serving tough, keep digging them balls, continue our blocking!!! Cheeee!

  110. oldtimer808 September 11, 2015 9:22 pm

Kahakai doing well. Arm chair quarterbacks out in force but guess what the team is hanging in there. Manu-Olevao making some of you eat your words.

  111. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:22 pm

This is must win for hosting privileges in the tourney.

  112. Willie September 11, 2015 9:23 pm

Notice during those runs at the end of set 4, #15 was not in and they did fine without the libero.

  113. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:25 pm

Very good sign–UH not falling behind early.

  114. WaWa September 11, 2015 9:27 pm

Anybody else notice how our front row players cannot put away overpasses?

  115. Willie September 11, 2015 9:27 pm

At 4 to 3 that was #15 with the bad pass

  116. Willie September 11, 2015 9:30 pm

To be fair, great pass by# 15 at 6 to 6

  117. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:30 pm

UH up 8-6 at the changeover

  118. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:31 pm

All of a sudden, Florida hitting below .100 after hitting lights out earlier. Maybe nerves getting to them in the loud arena.

  119. volley September 11, 2015 9:31 pm

wahine sending their armored division to take down florida. lets go bows!

  120. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:33 pm

ace by higgins makes it 10-6. TO Gators

  121. Andrew September 11, 2015 9:34 pm

Kicking myself right now for not being able to make it tonight to the game …

  122. kimo browner September 11, 2015 9:35 pm

    @808oldtimer. Stop it!

  123. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:36 pm

    UH up 12-6. TO UF

  124. z September 11, 2015 9:37 pm

    Higgins.

  125. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:37 pm

Higgins coming through with her serve. I think Koelsch starting, Higgins top serving sub/ playing backrow for her sometimes is the way to go.

  126. z September 11, 2015 9:41 pm

    Great win Wahine.

  127. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 9:41 pm

    Taylor ends it 15-9

  128. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:42 pm

That was huge for hosting in ncaa tourney, HUGE. Kendra is my mvp, with Higgins and Nikki second and third, Olevao played great too.

  129. volley September 11, 2015 9:42 pm

rise of na wahine! they showed that the sec is a weakling after all.

  130. z September 11, 2015 9:43 pm

As I have said before and that is why we need Tai.

  131. T103 September 11, 2015 9:44 pm

what an awesome match! Even if we didn’t pull off the win, it was a good match, BUT WE DID!!! Glad dave kept Kendra in there, and higgins completely stepped up at the service line! Taylor did an awesome job! Blocks showed up, and middles got involved! Dang, I can’t even right now…..

  132. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:45 pm

Olevao hit very smartly today, I just don’t understand why she can’t do that all the time.

  133. Brandon September 11, 2015 9:45 pm

I honestly cried. What a great win! Go bows!

  134. Maverick September 11, 2015 9:46 pm

    125. No, you need to give respect to Florida. They have been on the road for three weeks and took UH to 5. Florida is top 5. Rest of SEC, eh.

  135. kimo browner September 11, 2015 9:46 pm

Coach Shoji deserves credit for this win. He inserted Kendra and Maglio and stuck with TMO and Kahakai. Great victory for all.

  136. oldtimer808 September 11, 2015 9:46 pm

    Great Win!!!

  137. 'ohanaInBellingham September 11, 2015 9:48 pm

Thank you for the wake-up call, UCLA.

    Welcome back, TMO!

Congratulations, Kendra, for giving us what many here believed you were capable of!

  138. warriorfan September 11, 2015 9:49 pm

..139 es coach now needs to realize Kendra has more potential to get UH further, her setting is on par with Higgins but she brings much more at the net. Notice how much Recek’s hitting dropped off when she had to face the bigger block of Koelsch. I like Higgins coming off the bench as the top server.

  139. loyd September 11, 2015 9:50 pm

MAGLIO MAGLIO MAGLIO, TAYLOR, TAYLOR, TMO, GREELEY, HIGGINS AND KENDRA…..

    WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  140. Andrew September 11, 2015 9:53 pm

    128

Considering Florida is #2, I think the better wording would be UH took Florida to 5. But yeah definitely should respect Florida. They are a volleyball power for sure.

  141. z September 11, 2015 9:54 pm

florida passing went south. Our subs came in and their serve caused them problems. Nice team win.

  142. Andrew September 11, 2015 9:54 pm

    132

I like the way Dave interchanged them at times during the match. They both have their strong points.

  143. fhs September 11, 2015 9:57 pm

    #125…actually it’s the other way around…Hawaii took FL to 5 sets…

  144. H-Man September 11, 2015 9:58 pm

A team win , but Kendra made a difference. Congratulations to the Wahine !!!

  145. volley September 11, 2015 10:02 pm

    128. like i said, the sec are weaklings.

  146. Not an Expert September 11, 2015 10:02 pm

Kendra, setting will only get better if she has the playing time. What is noticeable is how the balls sits in the air for the hitters to attack accordingly. Less predictable due to not much tape on her, or she just good in disguising who she will set.

    Congratulations Wahine.

  147. kamaaina3261 September 11, 2015 10:04 pm

Maglio really came into her own; hitting over .500 plus some key blocks. Great, great team victory.

  148. islandman September 11, 2015 10:04 pm

    Maglio really showed something tonight.

  149. Aloha73g September 11, 2015 10:06 pm

Maglio stepped up and played at another level… It was nice to excited about our middle whether it was Olivia or Emily. Both had some awesome hits & blocks in sets 4 & 5.

  150. Haushinka September 11, 2015 10:07 pm

    I cried.

  151. z September 11, 2015 10:11 pm

You got to know that you can’t win these matches without Nikki. She did everything tonight. Hit, block, dig, ace.

  152. islandman September 11, 2015 10:13 pm

As oldtimer808 said, some people have to eat their words about Tai, at least for tonight. She played pretty well in the back too.

  153. Kela September 11, 2015 10:14 pm

Hitters got kills maybe cuz the sets were better??? In any case Congratulations Wahine!! HUGE WIN!!

  154. warriorfan September 11, 2015 10:15 pm

Yes Maglio played great, I think not starting lit a fire under her. I still believe in Mitchem though, and I think she will be a force in time.
    I would start Koelsch/Taylor, Magill/Maglio, Greeley/Olevao
Higgins serving sub and maybe setting from the backrow at times, Granato playing backrow for Olevao.

Higgins being the top serving sub might mean less Anderson though, which is too bad.

  155. volley September 11, 2015 10:21 pm

140 and 143. i said sec is a weakling. i did not mention specifically florida, but na wahine not only came back but in a sort of essence dominated florida towards the end of set 4 and at set 5.

  156. kamaaina3261 September 11, 2015 10:24 pm

You could see the wahine’s confidence build in game #4 and carry over into the final set. This win will go a long way in developing their ‘intestinal fortitude’…

  157. Cindy Luis September 11, 2015 10:25 pm

    Great win for the Wahine.
They served tougher at the end. Florida couldn’t get the pass to their big hitters. Alhassan still impressive.

  158. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:27 pm

    155. You said “rise of na wahine! they showed that the sec is a weakling after all.” So how can UH show the SEC is a weakling if they didn’t play any other SEC teams, just Florida? Clearly, you were making the argument that by defeating Florida, that somehow makes the SEC a bunch of weaklings. And you got called out.

  159. little papi September 11, 2015 10:27 pm

Maglio should play. Mitchem needs to learn, she looks loss in there.

  160. volley September 11, 2015 10:28 pm

    142. shoji played the right cards tonight. tayler higgins was the ace and kendra koelsch was the deuce. and btw in certain types of poker including like chinese poker the deuce (not called two) trumps all cards including the ace. keeping kendra in (shoji keeping his deuce card), in essence blocks any card to be played by mary wise since the deuce is in such a high number.

  161. Ron September 11, 2015 10:29 pm

Mea Culpa, I should never have doubted Dave. Two of the top three all-time winningest coaches going at it! It doesn’t get any better than this. Everyone stepped up and played well and several exceeded expectations. What a night!

  162. Gsky September 11, 2015 10:30 pm

Thank you very much Wahine! I’ll be walking on a cloud for days! Florida was really really good, but you were better!

  163. cocobean September 11, 2015 10:31 pm

Chalk one up for the under dogs. I’m so proud of the team. It was a real collaborative effort of the starters, the bench, the coaches and the 7th man.

On another note I must apologize to Cindy, the readers, the posters and kimo for getting out of line on the previous thread. I used have used more restraint.

By the way, what goes on at VT. I don’t read that blog.

  164. volley September 11, 2015 10:31 pm

    158. you said “…Rest of SEC, eh.” i think you meant rest of sec meh. and either way you admitted the sec are weaklings. and you got called out.

  165. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:32 pm

    161. What will you do if UH loses two matches in conference? Will you doubt Dave again? One game doesn’t make a season. UH has lots of work to do. A great win, and probably their best match of the season given the strength of the opponent. But I bet if UH loses a couple of matches, there will be riots in this blog.

  166. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:35 pm

    164. Illogical. How did I get called out exactly? I didn’t diss Florida, you did. And you got called out.

  167. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:36 pm

    163. On Volleytalk, a lot of personal attacks, insults, and nonsense directed at other posters, the coach, and players. You aren’t missing anything.

  168. warriorfan September 11, 2015 10:40 pm

UH wahine should NOT lose any conferences games, if Long Beach could finish undefeated last season, no reason UH can’t do the same this year, they are much more talented than the rest of the league this season.

  169. kimo browner September 11, 2015 10:41 pm

@ 152. no one is going to eat their words tonight unless you were rooting for florida.
Look, TMO broke out tonight, she had a damn good game and hit harder and smarter than she ever did. You didnt cause her to be better–she did! Please dont try to grab credit. Congrads to TMO.

  170. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:44 pm

    169. It is impressive how well TMO can play when she is confident. And how disappointing she is when she loses that confidence. It will be interesting to see how she does the rest of the season. Given Florida’s height and talent (I saw two or three players of Nikki’s caliber), probably the best match of her career.

  171. Ron September 11, 2015 10:45 pm

Maverick, what is your point? You seem to have a problem with semantics and you come out swinging. Cindy asked us to play nice and I will not let your strange comment ruin the joy I am feeling for the team and for me as a fan.

  172. volley September 11, 2015 10:48 pm

    166. i just did call you out. you even said the rest of sec was meh. i didnt diss florida. i just said the sec is overrated and weak.

  173. volley September 11, 2015 10:48 pm

kendra proved she plays like an elite and is an outstanding setter that not only sets good or high but also attacks and serves as stronger armor. now i wonder how she practices on her jousts.

claire was not used much tonight. i wanted shoji to use her to back up savannah since she seemed to have struggled from the beginning.

megan probably served as the curve ball but her huff surely puffs the ball.

tayler great at serves, jousts and moderate on armor.

annie didnt seem to be utilized for some reason but then olivia needs more step outs as well as em mags along with more blows.

perhaps the best of shar tai manu olevao her senior career to date. passed well in the back eliminating her from being a target. like to see her practice her jump spin serving against the lesser foe tomorrow and get her confidence back in that. her standing middle float should be her standard launching serve but her old spin serve if she feels the aggression can throw a couple punches in.

kalei model g was steady aiming tonight.

nikki needs to seek to her tight angle cross court shot, make those accurate and throw the enemy off while benefiting. also wasnt cindy and somebody were arguing about her ambidextrousness? so shes xhanded and not a true ambidextrous because supposively she cannot hit both with the same caliber. however perhaps she can be dual? and throw off opponents with a quick opposite?

savannah needs to communicate better/more defending otherwise it took her till late to be a sturdy libero.

  174. kimo browner September 11, 2015 10:48 pm

@163. Cocobean. I have read your posts. You do contribute. And I mentioned that you were a better person. Thank you for making everything PONO.

  175. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:50 pm

    171. My point was clear and had nothing to do with semantics. And I asked two legitimate questions of you; I didn’t attack you personally. Onward.

  176. Maverick September 11, 2015 10:53 pm

    172. Still illogical. Go back and read 158 again. Being defensive doesn’t make you more persuasive. But to sum up, again, you said UH showed that the SEC is a bunch of weaklings. You still didn’t explain how UH did that, other than the obvious–beating #2 Florida. Onward, this is boring now.

  177. HawaiiMongoose September 11, 2015 10:54 pm

What a night! I’m so glad I decided to buy a ticket and go in person. The Stanley was absolutely rocking. Hats off to Dave and the Wahine, he played all the right cards and the team kept on plugging away and wore Florida down. And Tayler’s serving run at the end… just magical.
