12-4 practice updates, Happy birthday Shoji, Leahey

photo-136

Good morning. looking like typical Seattle weather than yesterday which was clear and beautiful.

Team had film at 10 a.m. they will practice from noon-130.

It’s 11 a.m. now. will try to shoot some video during practice.

That said, do I need to ask people to be civil yet again? Enough with the cyber fights, name calling and personal insults. Yes, LC and IDK, this means you. go find another site to do this. I’d suggest DNW but …

Thank you to all who provided info on TV. There are multiple platforms to view live
gohuskies.com has streaming, NCAATV, ESPN3.
Kanoa Leahey got in this morning. Will ask him about the Oceanic plans. But you might get a quicker answer if you call Oceanic.

Hoping to do live blogging. have to check with the UW SID.

There also is radio on 1420-am or espn1420am.com

off to check out the athletic complex. It was beautiful in the dark. looking forward to it during the daylight hours. plan to check out the crew boathouse. My late brother-in-law rowed for UW and there is a shell named for him. have never seen it.

Tonight, we’ll be watching the UCD replay to get properly motivated for the drive down tomorrow. I can imagine the butterflies the team must be feeling. We should all just relax so we can be at our best!

updated initial post with 1 practice photo.

just routine practice at the moment. serve and pass, now the setters (Higgins, Koelsch, Ah Mow-Santos) working with various attackers. It’s more efficient for them to run 3 setters and 3 attackers continuously. Left, middle, right.

Kanoa Leahey just walked in which reminded me that it’s Happy Birthday time for Shoji and Pops Leahey .

Practice routine continues. A vs. B. A being the usual starting lineup. B has Long on the right, Huff left. James Ka sometimes hitting left or right.
Koelsch and Maglio have had some really good connections.
This rotation has Kahakai in for Manu-Olevao to serve.

Apparently it’s a closed practice. There were about 20 people in, mostly weariing green. They only got to stay for a little bit.
Kahakai had a nice swing from the back row, unscripted, got the touch as well.
Huff doing a few pipe attacks
With five minutes left, mostly serving from the A group.

    4. I thought Long left the team after the last match on Sr. night. Oh well if she’s there that’s good.

No, where would you get that idea? she’s foregoing her fifth year. doesn’t mean she quit

    Update on Saturday match time.
They have switched to 730 p.m. by request of the Pac12 network.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on the scene. Win or lose, these are a great bunch of kids playing for Hawaii and I am thankful that each and everyone of them choose to be a Wahine! Winning would only be icing on the cake.

Ron, I can second that. Good luck to the Wahine tomorrow.

I think the match with Duke will be a good one. Hoping for a win and an opportunity to take down the Huskies on their home court.

Hope the Wahine still have someone like Anderson/Ambrovich as a tutor because this week and next are final exams week at UH. If anything can distract you it is final exams.

A little off the topic: I noticed last match vs. UC Irvine more than others we had a triple block. The team looks very effective especially when they got three big girls up front. Anyways, it just looked very formidable…Go Bows!!!

    13. hawai’i aint the #6 blocking team in the nation for no reason. and btw this is what byu used last year to devastating effect against a seeded team. let the bows use that on washington and dont forget about tai and taylers service aces per set 😀
