Hawaii 3, Santa Clara 1

UCLA’s win over NMSU was 78 minutes. Poor Aggies. They likely will have spent over 12 hours more on their delay in Phoenix than their actual playing time on the court.

Only mentioning this because UH won’t start until the scheduled 730 p.m start. Santa Clara using the time to work with their two setters. The protocol clock has started so looks like UH will come out on the court early.

Kind of cool. Tita Ahuna and Mahina Eleneki from the 87 championship team just dropped by.Nice of them to come. Eleneki using a crutch. hurt her calf playing vb. She’s Head of School at La Pietra. Ahuna runs Elite Elementt Academy, an online K-12 school for non traditional students.

  7. Cindy Luis September 6, 2013 7:38 pm

  21. John September 6, 2013 8:10 pm

Sorry to say this but Wahine need to help out Hartong. Others need to step up and help her out. She`s carrying the whole team right now.

  39. volleyball fan September 6, 2013 10:11 pm

So relieved and glad that Hawaii pulled it out tonight and made this a historic night to remember. If Shoji retires, then Russ Rose, the Penn State coach will have an opportunity to surpass him in a couple of years. But if he sticks long enough and Russ Rose retires, Shoji will remain the winningest coach in all history, past, present and future.

  40. vbfan4life September 6, 2013 10:38 pm

dunno, dave shoji is 66, russ rose is 59

  41. manu September 6, 2013 10:41 pm

Congrats on Dave Shoji’s 1,107 win. Hoping he has a few years left in him to continue. Like volleyball fan says (39)…..I would like to see Dave hold this record for some time before someone passes it. Russ @ Penn is not far behind.

Nice win for the Wahines. But now to prepare for another worthy opponent with UCLA. Lost against them the past two years at the tournament. Maybe tomorrow will be some reckoning. I’m thinking Hartong, Uiato, Longo, Vorster, Taylor, and Olevao/Kastl to start
    Go Bows!

  42. LanaiBoy September 6, 2013 10:42 pm

Congratulations to Hawaii. Nice job of blocking and it out dug SC by a large margin. Another tough match that will help down the line in preparing for the post season.

  43. Cindy Luis September 6, 2013 10:57 pm

    39. Rose is 11 wins behind Shoji. It would take less than a year for Rose to pass Shoji.

  44. Cindy Luis September 6, 2013 10:58 pm

have started a new thread with my breaking story. will probably add another one with with stats

  45. Cindy Luis September 6, 2013 11:22 pm

they said 7163 tickets. about a 1,000 less turnstile.
