From the AVCA today
http://www.avca.org/awards/all-america/high-school-sand/
Inaugural class of AVCA High School Sand All-Americans!
Hawaii commit Gianna Guinasso, is a senior from Huntington Beach, Calif. As one of the top sand players in Southern California, Guinasso certainly has the accolades to back it up. She won gold medals in the AAU Best of the Beach and the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships while winning the AAU Southern Pacific (California) District Championship. She also medaled in the AAU Pan Pacific Championships and the AAU Junior California Open (Regional). For her strong play, she was selected to represent the USA in the International Children’s Games (ICG). Guinasso will head to the University of Hawaii to play for their nationally-ranked squad.
Also:
Vanessa Freire – Florida State University
Josephine Kremer – University of Notre Dame
Julia Mannisto – University of South Carolina
Named Honorable Mention 2 future Rainbow Wahine
Hi’ilawe Huddleston, Rancho Bernardo High, San Diego
Ka’iwi Schucht, Serra High, San Diego
Wow, Scott Wong really has the SandBows moving in the right direction esp. with his recruiting as next year, UH should once again be in the top echelon of Sand volleyball teams in the nation with the 3 new recruits coming in esp. with H.S. AA Gianna Guinassa, one of the top if not the top Sand volleyball player in southern california and 2 Hon. Mention AA’s coming in joining the great returnees for next season.
Nice catch! Thank you, Cindy.
Luv it, Cin.
Luv, Luv La Pietra–VERY MUCH–too! 😉
This film is going to be more locoh vs. (inter)national intensive, seemingly.
I was hoping for the latter but, meh, I’ll still watch it.

I’m glad that someone got around to asking our beloved..she wasn’t going to make mention of much otherwise (or so it seems).
3. not sure why you wouldn’t think it would be local when it’s about UH, the Wahine volleyball team and former AD Donnis Thompson. But it could be picked up as a 30-for-30, muck as Eddie Aikau was. 30-for-30 also working on a film about Chaminade basketball and Merv Lopes.

About the only comparable in WVB, some might say, is the clash between two O’ahu superpowers in 1992. UW went victorious that season as a prequel…
..Da unanimous #1 Bruins went belly-up, 0-3, to the eventual 1988 National Champions (who also went dominantly, though #5, as initial(s) 3-0 in the entire Longhorn’s tourney)
Stunning!!! @@

Careful, now, don’t any body say something offensive about that 1992 UH team. ‘Reader’ here, and elsewhere, COULD be emotionally hurt by things said.
Yet it never seems as though the mod here gives a crap (at times).
Those in the circle *of mod* enjoy their privileges..and good for them that they can ALL be here!
🙂
A hui hou!!
You are freaking weird and Crazy, wish you would just go away no one ever can understand anything you’re saying.
Best to ignore him. He craves attention, especially from Cindy.
It’s Steve or Laura or ….
Any idea when the schedule comes out? I see Fullerton posted theirs today.
the best part about the posts by “who’s confused” (and his other monikers) … is that he posts craziness, but acts as if we’re all the crazy ones … lol
LOL . 10 so true
Anyway team USA coming to the SSC in July? Against Brazil, should be fun I just hope Hartong or Danielson, are on the team, and play pretty please.
The USA Volleyball Cup is being brought to the SSC, courtesy us. 🙂
Details: July 11-12 – Stan Sheriff Center on University Hawaii campus, Honolulu, 7 p.m. HT
#1 Brazil vs. #2 USA
The word is that Emily Hartong is in competition for a roster spot that Hawaiian evening.
12. thanks. don’t know if either will be on the team.
13. thanks Ron & Kona Red.
Currently only Tamari Miyashiro on the roster with Hawaii ties. They haven’t named the team for competition. I know that Karch has long been high on Hartong. Not sure where she is at in terms of health after her shoulder surgery.
In an article in UH’s Kaleo, Hartongs said in an interview that she doesn’t want to come back too early, risking damage to her right shoulder and will rest until Sept.
7-8-9. freaking me out as well.
RM is a new one.
Got thrown off by the KonaRed email since KR is sponsoring the event.
