St. John’s comes back with tough serving, wins Set 2 25-20. finished it out on a 5-0 serving run with 2 aces. TBH, not that impressed with Oregon.

Oregon took control early, wins Set 3 25-14

Oregon pulls away in Set 4, breaks away from a 16-all tie for a 23-16 lead. finish it off 25-18. UH should be starting on time.

Looks like Greeley not getting the start today. Hope to see her come during the match though.

Another slow start, have no idea why Shoji is reluctant to start Greeley, way too stubborn.

And higgins is struggling again but it’s early. Passi not getting it done.

Just turned on t0 the match, what in the world is going on. Olevao service error.
Passi can’t put it down. Shows how much Taylor is being missed.

Passing is still an issue and this is a game that is driven by serve-pass efficiency. New Mexico is handling UH like they’re the ranked squad…hhhmmm.

Work it out ladies, work it out…Go Wahine’s! Oh no, more serving errors…:(

Is this match being streamed on Big West tv? The link on Big West website for the Hawaii/New Mexico match shows LBSU/Idaho instead. Any help is appreciated!

It is. Open up any match and change the 5-digit number at the end of the url to 16042. That seems to be the 5-digit number dedicated to UH women’s volleyball.

  11. uhfan September 4, 2014 8:09 pm

Dave better put in Greeley and Huff in the second set. Long and Passi arent cutting it.

  12. tossup September 4, 2014 8:34 pm

good job wahine. strike back with vengence!

Make that seven aces ( Higgins).

  19. PBnJz September 4, 2014 9:10 pm

Assuming this match goes only four sets, Higgins has broken the record for most aces previously held by Hartong at 5.

  20. islandman September 4, 2014 9:19 pm

    Eight

  21. PBnJz September 4, 2014 9:23 pm

    Oops…Hartong’s count was 6.

  22. islandman September 4, 2014 9:27 pm

The takeaway on Oregon is that they are a disciplined blocking team and a fair serving team. This is bad news for Ginger Long and Keani Passi, both of whom have problems with the block. Oregon had problems with hitting errors last year but not so this year.

  25. Cindy Luis September 5, 2014 12:19 pm

    24. Saw Oregon last night. they outblocked a smaller St. John’s team 14-10.
a lot of those came late.
    The Ducks hit .283, 156 in Set 4. 11=6-32.
Not the team you are describing.
