Was Men’s volleyball always this crazy? Everyone keeps upsetting each other

I think this is the craziest it’s been. I don’t see anything as an upset this year, except if someone beats BYU at BYU.

Cindy or anyone, not on this topic, but I have learned that there are selected players at a USAV high performance coach clinic at the Olympic training Center. Was wondering if Hartong was among them.

There is the national team open tryouts Feb. 22-24 in Colorado Springs at the OTC. Hartong made the A2 team last year. She is eligible for both the NT and A2 this year.
from USAV: Also considered for NT training will be athletes that have remaining college eligibility. Their participation will begin in mid-May or when their scholastic calendar ends for 2013.
Athletes in college and with collegiate eligibility remaining for the 2013 collegiate season may also be invited to participate with the USA Senior A2 program. This program is scheduled to take place in Dallas, TX from Tuesday, June 25 through Thursday, July 4. A projected 48 athletes will be invited to participate in the program,
Hartong not playing beach to rest her shoulder but it leaves flexibility to do this.

Sorry I didn’t make it clear, what I was asking was is she there right now, there are some selected players currently at the training center for the said coaches clinic taking place now.

Texas released their schedule and in the tournament is Texas, Hawaii, San Diego, and UTEP

Utep? Jeez well that’s another team that will hurt RPI.

  8. Cindy Luis February 9, 2013 9:04 pm

mauna, sorry, I don’t know if she is there or not.

  9. Cindy Luis February 9, 2013 9:07 pm

where did you see Texas’ schedule? All i saw was their spring schedule.

  10. Cindy Luis February 9, 2013 9:10 pm

WF, they get who they can get. As has been said repeatedly, just because UH wants you to come to the SSC, doesn’t mean you can afford to or want to.

Warriorfan, I agree with you that UTEP doesn’t help the Na Wahine’s rpi but I’m guessing Shoji may have scheduled them bc there’s a local girl on that team. I think it’s great and unselfish of Shoji to schedule teams like UTEP and Albany (last year) to come here so that local girls get a chance play in front of their friends and family.

  12. Cindy Luis February 11, 2013 10:15 am

VF, that probably is the reason. Malia Patterson (Punahou) is a junior setter for the Miners. Shoji really does do a nice job of putting teams with local players on the schedule.
