Wow ok, I think the wahine should be okay playing their second string all match.
Cindy, off subject, but do you have an idea how long the Sand Volleyball matches will last tomorrow morning against Florida International?
no i don’t, sorry, all depends on how long a match goes. 2 or 3 sets. Don’t know how many courts they have. if they have 6 and are playing 5 matches then … maybe an hour or so?
Thanks Cindy, just wanted to know how much I should have to feed the parking meter.
The lots next to the shell are free. not a bad walk. even from the Paki corner one.
Thank you again, Cindy. Thought the Shell lot was like the Zoo one. Did not know it was still free to park there. Yes, not a bad walk at all.
The zoo lot allows you to refeed the meter via cell phone. Although I tried once and it was too complicated. Ended up running out of the zoo to add more $$$.
ahhhhhhhhhh … can’t wait for Sand to officially begin. It’s been a long wait!!! GO BOWS!!!
Surprise to hear that there are free parking in Honolulu anymore, that’s the one’s that fills up real fast.
If the parking lot fronting the Waikiki Shell is full, drive a bit further up Monsaratt. There’s another parking lot on the beach-side of the Paki intersection. And, if that’s full, turn right on Paki-There should be something along there. No meters in any of these places.
So anybody know the duos are? who is janes partner??
and why is Jade not in the team photo at the UHAD site?
perhaps she was in class that day and missed it. She’s on the roster. I will ask Friday.
I had asked UH for the pairings this afternoon so I could do some prep work but they were unable to give them to me.
guess i’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
Had mentioned the lot on the corner of Paki and Monserrat earlier. Not a bad walk. There is also free street parking along Monserrat, both sides, as well as along Paki Ave. all the way to the fountain. and one other lot next to the cricket pitch.
DF, heard Scott Wong on the sports animals this afternoon. He estimated that the matches would run from 9:30-11:30 a.m Perhaps they weren’t able to put up six courts.
Makamae Recca related to former Wahine Makana Recca?
I am SHOCKED that Jane is not on the number one duo and that her Partner is Ashley Kastl. Also pretty surprising the indoor girls dominate the top 5 duos.
Ashley Johnson redshirting perhaps.
Makana is Makamae’s sis, unless there’s two Makana Reccas.
18. Maybe its a strategy to almost guarantee a win at #2 or #3?
Any updates from waikiki beach?
I heard Team #’s 4, 5, & 6 won their matches. 1, 2, & 3 are up next.
Hawaii won (3-2). #1 & #2 LOST ~ #3, #4, & #5 WON
Wahine win 3-2
The top 2 duo lost in straight sets, the 3,4,and 5 duos won, in straight sets. Kastl and Croson, actually looked quite good as a duo. The top duo of Spieler and Long did not look good at all. Whoever Ali Longo was teamed with looked really good. Their match was not even close, at all. Wondering how a Ali Longo and Jane Croson duo would fair.
Who were the top two duos?? kinda hoping for someone more reliable than Dedicatedfan to answer? thanks in advance.
Wondering if Cindy is still at Queen’s Beach. Dave Shoji’s daughter is here on vacation with hubby, and baby. All 4 of them were at Queen’s Beach. Dave looked awfully cold, had a towel wrapped around him.
The top duo was Spieler and Ginger Long. The 2nd duo was Tai and someone, I did not recognize, sorry.
Tai’s match was nip and tuck, really close. But Spieler and Ginger Long’s match was not even close at all. I do not know how they can be the top duo. The only thing I can think of is that, Scott Wong actually reversed his order putting his top duo team against FIU’s lower duo team. Cause the 5th, 4th, and 3rd duo matches were not even close.
After watching Jane Croson for 2 years playing indoor, and Sand, Volleyball, I have come to a conclusion. Jane likes winning, BUT she loves just being able to play volleyball more. She comes across as a person, if there is a pick up game of volleyball, she will be there to play in it. She just loves the game of volleyball, no matter if it is indoor, or outdoor.
Maybe just maybe FIU’s top duo is really really good.
WF, yes they are sisters.
See new thread. Yes, Shoji, Cobey, Colman and Micah at the beach. Shoji was a little chilled. He’d been out this morning SUPing.
and yes, FIU No. 1 is really good and tall.
No thread on the UH-Texas Tech match?
