The monthly pass is not a bad deal if you plan on watching all three UH matches, assuming there is quality audio/video.

Let’s hope none of the girls have bad allergies.

  3. JT September 19, 2013 9:12 am

mave’s got it. signed up for the monthly for 3 matches. hope quality of video stream turns out better than
    USD (announcer included).

  4. LC September 19, 2013 9:20 am

If you sign up for the monthly package just remember this fine print.

“Monthly subscriptions are set to automatically renew every 30 days until you visit the Manage Packages link in your profile and cancel your subscription”

  5. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 9:28 am

thanks for that reminder. Had that issue when I wanted the one game from Idaho one year and got billed for the next match. took a while for me to get off their auto pay and get reimbursed.

  6. Cruisecontrol September 19, 2013 9:47 am

There’s a nice article about WSU’s setter in their local paper:

    http://www.kansas.com/2013/09/18/3007772/bob-lutz-feekin-setting-her-spot.html

  7. LC September 19, 2013 10:24 am

I almost just prefer Live Stats or GameTracker when they go on the road because when they fall behind or play crappy I get irritated.

  8. OrbitalRipZ September 19, 2013 10:51 am

    In the WHO CARES! Department:

9 NCAA D1 Undefeated Left Standing (as of 9/18):
    Missouri/SEC
    Washington St/Pac-12
American/Patriot League (had to look this 1 up)
    W. Virginia/Big 12
    Ohio St/Big Ten
    DePaul/Big East
    N. Carolina/Mid-American
    Colorado St/Mountain West
    Washington/Pac-12
(Of the above, Washington looms larger and larger. Washington was #3 in the Pac-12 Coaches Preseason Poll, after Stanford and USC.)

Matches I’ll be waiting for the results during this 4th and Last (for most D1 teams) NONCONFERENCE SEASON matches this weekend:

9/20 (Fri) = Cal St Northridge vs Washington ….. San Diego vs BYU (Cougars was #1 in the WCC Coaches Preseason Poll, San Diego #2)

9/21 (Sat) Hawai’i vs Wichita St (Shockers was #1 in the MVC Coaches Preseason Poll)

9/22 (Sun) = Nebraska vs Texas …..Cal St Fullerton vs American

  9. LC September 19, 2013 11:19 am

Got an e-mail from a Prep VB source says recruit at UH was probably Casey Castillo Santa Fe Christian High School,6’3 Opp/RS a 2015 recruit. If you actually saw her you can find a photo on line.

  10. Maverick September 19, 2013 11:28 am

    3. I just signed up too. And agree with you on the USD announcer. Don’t need to hear someone scream out a USD player’s name on every single play. Like sayin “gooooooooaaal” in a high scoring soccer match.

  11. LC September 19, 2013 11:31 am

That point _ _ _ _ stuff at some schools gets on my nerves.

  12. LC September 19, 2013 11:41 am

In reply to Millers article today I really don’t find this #1 in attendance thing to be all that important,it’s just a bragging rights thing to me.

Penn State has never been #1 in attendance as far as I know yet they have a slew of National Championships and I’ll take National Championships over attendance any day.

  13. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 11:53 am

Thanks LC for the name. up to people if they wish to stalk her and find a pix.
    12. as for the attendance thing. think it’s more a source of pride here that it’s been 19 year straight. So in that regards, it is important, and part of the Wahine tradition.
but we knew it could go over to Nebraska given their new facility is larger and over 7,000 season tickets sold
As for Penn State, Rec Hall maxes out at 7,200. given its remoteness, it’s been more about the student attendance and not the community-driven one that Hawaii and Nebraska has been. PSU gets fairly decent crowds for postseason but even when Hawaii was there for the regional, not sold out. and quite a bit of snow to walk through to get there.

  14. LC September 19, 2013 11:55 am

LOL, Looking for a photo on Google is stalking ?

  15. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 11:59 am

just saying … wasn’t singling you out. said up to people …
    ‘-)

  16. Volleyball fan September 19, 2013 12:45 pm

I agree with you LC. It’s not worth subscribing to view the match. Only I have a different reason. It is played in the Charles Koch Arena. Heard of the Koch Brothers? I will not pay a single penny to them in any way. They are notorious pushing the agenda of the 1%, the Tea Party and everything that goes with it. They are behind Big Oil. I boycott all their products directly (I live on solar energy, not oil and I bike everywhere). If I had a choice I’d never take my team there.

  17. LC September 19, 2013 12:58 pm

I’m listening to the Shockers match with Mo State to see what their announcers are like.

    http://www.shockerradio.com/

  18. LanaiBoy September 19, 2013 12:58 pm

I subscribe to the CBS All-Access Sports package for about $12 a month. So far I’ve been able to view all the women’s volleyball matches that require payments. I would guess this would be true for the Wichita State tournament too. However, I am never sure until I try to log in. I subscribe to it because I follow other sports, including women’s and men’s basketball, softball, and baseball. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the cost since UH belongs to the Big West and all of its sports are suppose to available thru free, on-line video. I’ll reevaluate this after this year.

  19. LC September 19, 2013 1:12 pm

Well so much for Shocker radio already down and out.

  20. Beauston September 19, 2013 1:13 pm

Anyone else watching the video feed WSU vs Mizu State? I have the cvideo nice and clear but audio is completely toned out?

  21. Maverick September 19, 2013 1:14 pm

I’ll let everyone know what the audio/video quality is like in case others want to buy one or both of the other two matches UH plays this weekend. Not a good sign that radio is out.

  22. LC September 19, 2013 1:15 pm

Shocker Radio back up announcer is pretty good.

  23. Beauston September 19, 2013 1:18 pm

21 well Im watching it now and there’s no audio!!!!!
Video not the best but way better than Big west tv

  24. Maverick September 19, 2013 1:19 pm

No audio for me…will try from home later
    agree with Beauston on video

  25. Beauston September 19, 2013 1:33 pm

the audio is finally came on out of nowhere, at least for now.

  26. Maverick September 19, 2013 1:34 pm

My audio now works…announcers are fine. Assuming the audio holds up, I am happy with my purchase.

  27. roofer68 September 19, 2013 1:35 pm

    9. LC, thanks for posting, came up with her name 3 hours ago, but was reluctant to post. I’m positive that’s her after googling her images.

  28. Warriorfan September 19, 2013 2:01 pm

Casey Castillo is considered one of the best talents in So Cal in the 2015 class, so she would be a great get.

I remember a local player with that exact same name , played club with Lily?

  29. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 2:10 pm

Could it be the reason it is going in and out is it is an archived match and not live? quality might not be as good.

  30. LC September 19, 2013 2:12 pm

There was a Casey Castillo who played for Asics Rainbows Volleyball Club but I don’t know what happened to her.

  31. LC September 19, 2013 2:17 pm

I’m guessing that the announcer on the video is the same announcer on Shocker Radio. So far he has been pretty good not really an obnoxious homer type.

The WSU/Hawai`i match is on TV out in Kansas.

  32. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 2:18 pm

    8. it will be interesting to see who is left standing at the end of this weekend.
Although I voted the Dawgs No. 1 in the VBM poll, UW hasn’t played anyone really, outside of going to Illinois and beating the Illini in Champaig. the real test for them will be next week when they are at WSU and then Oregon. tomorrow’s match with CSUN is in Seattle.

  33. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 2:24 pm

8 (cont). USD’s biggest problem could be that the match is in Provo. BYU’s preseason No. 1 in the WCC ranking came before it was widely known that the WCC Player of the Year was sitting out volleyball to play basketball.

  34. Cruisecontrol September 19, 2013 3:09 pm

Livestats is showing Hagins starting for Hawaii. lol

  35. LC September 19, 2013 3:10 pm

    LOL I just saw that.

  36. Maverick September 19, 2013 3:12 pm

    34. Didn’t you hear, she transferred back to UH?

  37. Cruisecontrol September 19, 2013 3:28 pm

    She looks really different lol

  38. Kazu September 19, 2013 3:30 pm

    Lousy,have video,but no audio.

  39. Cindy Luis September 19, 2013 3:33 pm

    34. see new thread. mentions that

  40. Maverick September 19, 2013 3:35 pm

    38. It is possible that they don’t have announcers for the non-Wichita St. games. Is a shame.

  41. OrbitalRipZ September 19, 2013 11:52 pm

Re: 8 Forgot 2 add that Creighton was voted #1 in the Big East Coaches Preseason Poll … this is without question one of the toughest (if not the toughest) of the Week 4 nonconference tournaments. No walk over.
