Hawaii moving up to #10 is a big and pleasant surprise. I guess you can credit their scheduling, with their pre-conference opponents doing really well. If Hawaii can beat Davis and Northridge, it will not lose too much when they play Riverside, with its RPI at #294.

I predict that Missouri will fall flat on their face in the NCAA Tournament,talk about overrated,
LC — i too have a lot of questions about how good missouri is. the problem is that they’re headed for a high seed, and it’s possible — because of their location — they could be “gifted” a cake-walk to at least the regional… we’ll have to see how they’re seeded and where they’re placed in the bracket.
Hopefully if they stay there or even move up they can think of hosting. No slip ups…they move down and (ugh!) Road Warriors.
Na Wahine should take care of business for the next two weeks especially these coming 2 matches against Davis and Northridge. I am very sure that they can still go up in their RPI if they win out all the way. Let’s all rally behind them this weekend – GO BOWS! And don’t forget to vote for Emily – she needs our full support!

At the Start of Week 9 (of 10 Weeks of Conference Season)
Here’s the breakdown by conferences of the top 25 teams in the NCAA RPI, of which the top 10 are near certain (i.e. 95% certain) to be named 1 of the 16 seeded teams and with that seed comes a prestigious subregional (Rounds 1-2) hosting position, which can be turned down for whatever reason but it hasn’t happened yet.
This means there’s only 6 (at most) subregional hosting positions open, and these will be determined by the Volleyball [Selection] Committee. [Note: This year the Committee will consider seeding any top 25 team in the AVCA Poll, Pablo Ranking, or RichKern Poll that is not among the top 25 RPI. See footnote at bottom of this posting.]

I wouldn’t mind uh being in Missouri’s or florida’s side of the bracket two very over rated teams.
7. UH’s RPI position may rise if they win this coming weekend, but I expect a drop during the last week of the season because of Riverside’s 1-24 record (even if UH runs the table).
Yes it could drop some after playing UCR but the non conference teams could balance that out or soften the blow if they have a decent week.
4. LC, saw a number of missouri’s matches on ESPN3. i think they are for real.
they haven’t had to go to 5 in 30 matches. They’re the first team to defeat the gators
in three (3) on their home court. 9. I would not like to be in their bracket if they continue to
play at the level they are playing now. (IMHO). Good news on na wahine. now they need to finish up
(no more nail biting 5 setters).
Come on now Jake, Would you honestly rather be in Texas’, PSU’s, Washington’s ( hosting regionals ) side of the bracket Over Missouri’s bracket???
I find it ironic how being idle this past week moved Hawaii up, but playing and winning might lower their RPI. To bad RPI doesn’t take into account the rest of the season so that there wouldn’t be such drastic movements.

i think we all underestimate missouri and their error free play (well at least how they’re playing right now).

.15 I hate when people bring stuff up from nearly a decade ago. Different players different times. Missouri does not have players that can take over on the left like UT, PSU and UW so I’d rather face them.
Of course the wahine have to get back to playing their best like at the beginning of the season, otherwise they won’t even advance past the first round.
18. memories dim not a decade. remember the SC regional when we defeated SC in LA with kanani, kaufman, hewitt, Cubi-Ontinero and went on to the final four… 2009? SC seems ripe to me IMHO
20. 09 they beat SC in the second round at SC, then went up to Stanford where they beat Illinois and Michigan before going to final four.

Is it just me or after this season had gone on, I don’t see the same passion and fire in Vorster. She had several good matches, but i don’t see the same jade from last season. Possible transfer after this season?!?!?

Sometimes we like to read between the lines even if something isn’t there. I know for a fact (since I’m an explayer) that not getting set during matches can be draining on a player. But to her credit, Jade has picked up in the blocking area.
