Friday morning check-in: Kaufman, Iosia
Team has the morning off. Working on our preview that comes out the 26th
In the meantime, someone asked for more pictures. Not really part of my job but here’s a couple that are sort of WahVB related
Amber Kaufman, who has been playing in Finland, finally got her NCAA championship ring from 2010 high jump. photo from Kaufman.
Norene Iosia, a 2016 (corrected) commit, will be playing in the Ann Kang with Redondo Union. She also is a pretty good beach player, won last week’s AVP Junior Manhattan Beach Open with her Mizuno teammate Milan Stokes. Photo from Mizuno.

PICS!
Whoa! That’s a nice ring, should be since it took 5 years to make. 😆
Isn’t Norene a 2016 commit?
…and thanks for the PICS!
Wonder why it took so long for Amber to get her ring. It is nice.
Someone very realiable on volleytalk says Ashley Harris ( Rogue’s daughter)just left Arizona. I thought she made great strides from her freshmen year to sophomore year. Big loss for them.
I hope Norene plays beach volleyball at UH. Team could always use more talent to compete with USC. USC is basically building an all star squad.
1. not sure why it took so long. She mentioned that UH coach was the one who made it happen so will have to look into that.
yes she is 2016. sorry. the years just get so jumbled. thanks for the catch.
I know that UH looked at Harris but I believe there were some injury issues that had them backing off. I could be wrong. Do not like getting into the whole HIPA thing.
According to volleytalk the dutch player is coming to UH. 6′ 8 Stijn Van Tilburg.
I think he looks really good on video. reminds me a bit of Umlauft.

If Harris really is leaving Arizona. I think she would be a great pickup.
harris is leaving for personal reasons and taking off from volleyball for the entire year. let the girl tend to her priorities in peace.
And you know this how and how exactly am I not letting her tend to her priorities, over react much?
By the way after doing some googling. found this on Stijn Van Tilburg. It’s in dutch though

#4 That’s awesome news.
Not just 11 new players but 11 quality players coming in. That’s amazing.
9. That’s gotta be the biggest recruiting class in warrior history maybe? in four years (if they all stay) UH will be very good.
Cindy any updates on the new warrior assistant coach?
Cindy,
Know you’re really busy with Wahine stuff. But if possible would you be able to shed more light on the Dutch recruit for the mens team? Such as confirmation that he is coming and when he will begin his eligibility? Thanks
5. Don’t believe UH is interested in Harris for the reason I mentioned earlier. They did look at her in high school. And given that Hawaii’s pretty set for next year, don’t think they’d be looking at her now.
all i know is that Wade went to to Europe to visit the Dutch player. And that the Warriors are looking to go to Europe over Christmas break for a mini camp. Not sure if that has been approved.
11. as for shedding light on the men’s situation, the word in Dutch is Neen. With registration week next week may be able to get some info since coaches will be around. Think they have someone in mind to replace McLachlin but haven’t heard anything else.
