How did the team adjust to the Sport Court?

  2. H-Man December 11, 2015 8:26 am

    Emily Maglio in t-shirt. Canadian.

Play Hard! Play Smart! All Hawaii is rooting for you (and a lot of us expats as well)!

    GO BOWS!!!

#2, lol, yep! Cindy’s note in yesterday’s posts about Rose thinking Bora Bora was in the Caribbean was cute, too. It’s good for the sport that he and Shoji have this longterm respect for one another and that they display it so clearly. But come 3:30 p.m., it takes a backseat to single-minded focus for UH. Go ‘Bows!!!

#2 LOL Both Emily and Natasha are probably saying: Are you serious, this is not even close to cold. Go bows! Play smart and keep the pressure on them!

  6. nomu December 11, 2015 10:38 am

Play for each other, stay focused. A little cold, but isn’t it great being out and enjoying yourselves?

  7. nomu December 11, 2015 10:43 am

Hope the team at least has set aside time to enjoy themselves as well, aside from playing volleyball.

I was freezing last night when it dropped to 70, I’m glad these kids are a lot tougher than me. And regardless of the outcome this afternoon, we will love them just the same! PS- Roofer, you got good genes!

Thank you for balancing studies and volleyball, ladies. If, as a college student, I had had the expectations of a filled SSC on my mind, I would surely not be as mature as you all are. Bravo!

Just remember that, regardless of the outcomes, we stand by you. (Ditto frings #3)

Was able to make trip to IA to see our gals play in person one more time (hopefully four)! Weather isn’t that bad…good pre-snow chill…mid-30s to mid-40s. I’m in long-sleeve tee and jeans. Been 28+ yrs since I lived in this area (SD), so blood plenty thinned. Gone use skywalks from hotel to arena so I don’t have to take heavy coat! Go ‘Bows!

Spent a couple of years as a kid in the Des Moines area, and attended Grinnell College (about a hour’s drive to Des Moines) for a semester. Never felt cold at all.

If I were to play HC for a day, I would say to the Na Wahine: When you play Penn State, FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION, IT IS A REQUIREMENT. Embrace failure not as the whole process but as part of this match’s turnaround process and we will succeed.

No idea who will be the “x-factor,” but I would think the betting money should ride on our two seniors: OMG and TMO.

    GO BOWS!

Too amped to type, almost. Can’t imagine how they are feeling. Glad to know (#10) that there will be friendly faces/voices in the stands for the team today.

And echoing what others are saying: Wherever you came from, you are part of us now. You are representing the University of Hawaii and our state with spirit, and we are proud of you. I hope you are savoring all of this with your teammates, coaches and family/friends. Go ‘Bows!!!!!

#9…We need to talk V-ball sometime Ohana. I’m keeping the faith down here in the south end of Washington state in Vancouver.

will put up a new thread on Iowa-Minnesota in a bit. Illinois up 22-20 in Set 1.

As for the sport court, easier than on the hard wood.

The canadians think the weather is great. Minnesota ties it at 22

  15. Cindy Luis December 11, 2015 1:35 pm

Minnesota finishes off on a 6-0 run 25-22.

  16. jmy December 11, 2015 1:37 pm

Looks like Huskers will sweep BYU, Florida up 2-0 to Wisconsin…

  17. menehune December 11, 2015 1:44 pm

My daughter just emailed me a picture of her and her family (husband, two teen boys) eating at their favorite Thai restaurant in Des Moines with their UH gear on.
Heading to the game after they’re done with their Pho.

Even talked a couple of their friends to come along and be Wahine rooter’s for the night.

You can do it, ladies. LET’S GO BOWS.
