OIA honoring Ginoza, Fukushima

Two living legends of Hawaii sports, Larry Ginoza of Waianae and Ted Fukushima of Kaiser, are being honored tonight at the Oahu Interscholastic Association Foundation’s annual dinner at the Sheraton Waikiki.

As a coach stressing discipline, Ginoza turned the Seariders into a football powerhouse of the 1970s and 1980s, with multiple league and Prep Bowl victories.

Fukushima was the athletic director at Kaiser when the school opened in the 1970s and led the Cougars program that dominated the OIA and state in a variety of sports.

Two people that deserve every recognition for their accomplishments esp. Coach Ginoza and what he did for the football program in Waianae.
