Warriors: Health update

The Warriors are reporting that no player suffered a significant injury against Colorado.

That means that linebackers Julian Gener and Jerrol Garcia-Williams, both of whom were treated for apparent ailments, will be available for Saturday’s game against Ohio State.

The availability has not been determined for running back Diocemy Saint Juste, who did not play against Colorado.

The Warriors participated in conditioning drills and weight-lifting sessions yesterday. They are scheduled to practice this afternoon.

    Aloha all.

Great news about the injuries. Enjoyed the article on Harris this am. Both he and Davis have interesting stories. Here’s a piece on Davis if anyone hasn’t seen it already.

Stephen also had an article on Davis, if you have premium access.

Good morning Hawaii and good bye humidity. On our way to Columbus this afternoon. Glad to know no serious injuries vs Colorado. We’re going to need everyone on Saturday.

  5. Da Punchbowl Kid September 6, 2015 11:22 am

    No substantial injuries… awesome!

Paul Harris – very inspiring – both his story and his play!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  6. Stephen Tsai September 6, 2015 11:35 am

One of the cool things this year is the O-lineman of the week gets to carry a championship belt with the UH logo on it.

  7. Stephen Tsai September 6, 2015 11:36 am

We haven’t had water since last night, when a water main broke down the street. Now I can see what all the fuss is about with hurricane-prep kits.

  8. Da Punchbowl Kid September 6, 2015 11:48 am

That’s a good idea, giving the O-line a little more recognition.

  9. UHfan808 September 6, 2015 12:02 pm

    Good afternoon, Tsai-kos!

Yay for the good news about the Warriors!

    Thank you, ST!!

    😀

  10. UHfan808 September 6, 2015 12:06 pm

    Hey cool, I’m top 10 again! 😎

  11. UHfan808 September 6, 2015 12:08 pm

    ST:

Do you have a pic of the championship belt?

    Nice incentive for the O-line!

Will the other units follow suit with something similar?

  12. UHfan808 September 6, 2015 12:09 pm

Hey, that’s like me without WiFi during the game, ST! Sad face 🙁

    Hope it’s already fixed!

  13. Markazulu September 6, 2015 12:25 pm

I love our stable of running backs. I wish st juste was healthy would love to see what he would do healthy. With the upcoming games im interested to see the other backs get a shot.

  14. el burro sabio September 6, 2015 1:01 pm

Agree about running backs, had hoped that Joas would get some carries on Thursday as he showed some quickness last season.

  15. SteveM September 6, 2015 1:18 pm

    Good morning everyone!

I just found out that LakesideGT is flying to Cleveland today and will drive down to Columbus for the game. He has purchased a Panda land-only package. LakesideGT attended several Tsai-ko gatherings at Murphy’s and my Tsai-ko Cruiser Calls at Genji’s but has only lurked in recent years. A-House, Warrior Dave, and 3-prong should keep an eye out for him on Panda game day portion, although I think only the A-House ohana has met him before.

If anyone is having withdrawal symptoms from post-loss games, check out Colorado’s Ralphie Report live game thread … some notable quoteables from the 600+ posts … http://www.ralphiereport.com/2015/9/3/9258881/colorado-buffaloes-vs-hawaii-warriors-live-game-thread

    * “we are not this bad, we are not this bad… please I can’t”
    * “We are a 7 /.5 point favorite, what were they thinking?”
    * “Hey Offense, Defensive is over here in Hawaii, wanna join them?”
    * “STOP RUNNING SIDEWAYS!!!!!!!!”
    * “Self-destructing AGAIN”
    * “Only way we score is if the defense does it, offense is not playing worth a” CENSORED “!”
    * CENSORED “We don’t try and block the punt when they are literally on the goal-line and then we pull that” CENSORED “!!!”
    * “Can we just let the defense play offense?”
    * ” I just want this weird nightmare where Cu football is bad to end….
I just don’t see how we have fallen so far. I’ve watched every year thinking hmm we will have to be better. It’s early, I know walk away from the ledge, but damn. Damn you Dan Hawkins you made us into an intramural team brother.”
    * “wow….remember like 30 seconds ago when we were going to go to half with the lead and all the awful play in the 1st half would be redeemed?”
    “good times those were”
*”This is coach Mac, team comes in to a game not ready, settles in and gets going, then goes away from what got them back in the game, craps the bed, wastes TOs and loses on the final drive because they don’t have enough time.”
    * “The epitome of the last 10 years in 1 game
The only amazing thing was the the Buffs actually had a chance to tie it.
The refs seem to have been inspired by the depressing play of both teams. What a horribly executed game.
Also no one bothered to look, but it appeared the Lindsay catch hit the ground. Always bothers me how quick they are to end the game without confirming the final play.”

  17. cappiethedog September 6, 2015 1:46 pm

I wonder if the McNeese State players were relieved or disappointed that they didn’t get a chance to play LSU?

I wonder if we should be rooting for an electrical storm?

Theoretically, can’t Ohio State’s second unit defeat Hawaii at their place?

  18. Markazulu September 6, 2015 2:10 pm

How many years do we have Melvin Davis? He’s the guy id expect our offense to use in goal line situations… Or Justin vele!

  19. kimo browner September 6, 2015 3:34 pm

speaking of Mel Davis–does our coveted host have any scoops if the big guy is ready to play?

  20. kimo browner September 6, 2015 4:00 pm

St Juste still has a red shirt year available if his injury does not clear by the Boise State game.
    Just saying…

  21. Maddog50 September 6, 2015 4:05 pm

Last comment on Colorado from me. The most flagrant consistent holding I have ever seen. Get a chance to see it again just watch—it is beyond comprehension. Now on to the Buckeyes 1-0. Go Warriors!

  22. Jeezy33 September 6, 2015 4:16 pm

Colorado held all game. Refs weren’t calling it. We got away with a big block in the back late in game though. I think it was on the trick play to Pedroza where he ended up running for a first down. Refs missed a block in back. But they missed way more on Colorado holding us.

  23. Jeezy33 September 6, 2015 4:17 pm

Then again, Dejon Allen got beat bad on the play where Wittek fu,bled in end zone. He held too and I guess it could have been a safety if the refs called it.

  24. Ran September 6, 2015 4:18 pm

    ST
What time is Monday’s practice. is it open to public?

  25. BigC September 6, 2015 4:25 pm

Why no Coach’s Show on Television? You would think that after a victory we would have some kind of show on TV or Radio.

  26. Tiki808 September 6, 2015 5:27 pm

☕ How is this to me? Just kidding. Colorado was a big team on the offense. They got banged up. Find newer players.

  27. 808warriorfan September 6, 2015 5:33 pm

I was worried when those guys were helped off the field…..

    Good news …

NOW GO AND UPSET OHIO STATE !!!!!

  28. 808warriorfan September 6, 2015 5:35 pm

#17 “cappiethedog” … as much as I’d love an UPSET I would say their 3rd & 4th teams could do the job … the only guys that won’t play are they guys they are redshirting or injured

  29. Tiki808 September 6, 2015 5:38 pm

☕Mel Davis is gaining time off. He can’t afford to get injured, lack medical attention. No money also for him to just waste. Utilizing his time more wisely. Crucial is every playing time.

After watching Temple upset PSU was wondering about former Bow Keith Kirkwood. Doesn’t look like he’s even on the top three at the two WR positions. He certainly would have helped here.
