GAs set for Scout Bowl

While seven assistant coaches are recruiting on the mainland and two others are working the local circuit, the four graduate assistant coaches are preparing for the upcoming game.

John Estes, Mikahael Waters, Marc Moody and Makana Garrigan will be calling the plays for Thursday’s Scout Bowl, which involves redshirts and development players. This assignment is in addition to scouting, evaluating videos, aiding the assistant coaches, running the scout teams and, of course, attending classes.

All four have proven to be quality coaches. It will make for a tough decision in the spring, when the NCAA is permitting FBS teams to add a 10th full-time assistant coach.

Good luck to the coaches in getting one or two players to commit.

Not sure why 2 run option plays for St Juste to go left was called twice in a row and both failed, he’s a hit a hole type of runner. I did like the catch he made for a TD, that should be used more often.

Hope we find some help from scrimmage-BTW Oregon opened as a 13.5 favorite against the Cowboys!

Gardner Webb who just lost to Wyoming 27-0 plays the West Carolina Catamounts this Sat. Can’t really gain a lot from this but at least it’s some sort of comparison. Forecast for Laramie right now is 40’s and some breeze at game time. Perfect!!! GoWarriors

The Catamounts beat Davidson last week 63 – 17, and put up 778 yards of total offense. The Gardner-Webb/Western Carolina game will be an interesting comparison.

John Estes would be fine, but I would prefer a DL coach to help out Legi.

    just my 2 pesos.

The QB from WC was a scrappy guy! I could see them putting a hurt on DII opponents.

Nice scenario for the scout bowl – up and comers coaching up and comers.

    Good luck to the reruiters!

Mahalo to bot catcher for making it easy today!

Pac-12 Conference office says it acknowledges game & replay missed 1st qtr. targeting call that should have been made against UH. #HawaiiFB

UCLA was called for targeting in the 4th quarter ( Josh Woods).

Who’s closer to Oregon, Hawai’i or Wyoming? 13.5 points plus, Oregon vs. Wyoming. Pac 12 is a tougher conference than MWC.

Got to go with the + 13.5 favorites.

They’re right. John Estes was a good player.

Why? Because that job is beneath my feet. Yet, I still do it at Aloha Stadium. “2 hot dogs and 2 cokes.” Got it!

We’re all hoping it will be clear skies and a full house on the 30th. I will be at my usual post. “Hi? What would you like to eat tonight?” It’s on big screen TV. See you all there. Prediction? 40,000 in attendance at Aloha Stadium.

40 degrees in Laramie, Wyoming?! Ouch! Have a great week of preparation during the bye week. Let’s go Bows!

The no call on targeting by Unga was the right call. Going full blast and to use your shoulder without having your helmet hit them you would have to remove your head or move it to the side.
