From class to UMass

The Warriors were scheduled to practice this morning for the final time in Manoa in advance of Saturday’s season opener against UMAass.

After breakfast and attending morning classes, they are scheduled to depart this afternoon with a 70-player travel roster.

At 5,006 miles, this is the longest domestic trip for the Warriors in the football program’s history. It was 5,071 miles to Sydney for last year’s international game.

According to UH:
> UMass, 2017 — 5,006 miles
> Army, 2010 — 4,955
> Rutgers, 1975 — 4,945
> Navy, 2013 — 4,856
> Florida, 2008 — 4,669

The biggest swing was last year, when the Warriors opened at Sydney, Australia, returned to Honolulu, and then traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich. Distance between Sydney and Ann Arbor is 9,521 miles/

Everyone (1s, 2s and special teams) all healthy and making the trip? Vegas has Warriors by 1. I’ve heard it’s an even game, but if all healthy, I pick Warriors to win by 10.

    from yesterday …

Campbell sophomore Poki’i Adkins-Kupukaa, a 6-foot, 185-pound wide receiver and defensive back, landed his first scholarship offer today from Hawaii.

Cover2’s Rob DeMello first reported the offer for Adkins-Kupukaa, who set a new Campbell single-game receiving record with 204 yards in a 26-20 win over Farrington 10 days ago.

Adkins-Kupukaa leads the state with 399 receiving yards and four touchdowns in three games for No. 7 Campbell, which plays at Waianae on Friday.

He is the 10th sophomore in Hawaii known to hold at least one scholarship offer. Hawaii has offered six of them,

Another Campbell sophomore, linebacker Tyrese Tafai, holds an offer from Nevada.

Does anyone know what Spectrum channel the UH vs UMass game will be telecast on? I online chatted with Spectrum, and they told me it was part of PPV. When I told the rep that it was reported in the news that the game was supposed to be free, he then told me to call 643-2100 (customer service). The Spectrum customer service rep first stated that the game is part of PPV. When I told her that the game was not part of the PPV, she later stated that it was on ESPN. When I told her ESPN is not broadcasting the game, she then said it was on Channel 1257. Now she is checking if 1257 is a part of PPV, or if I have to purchase a premium sports package. If Spectrum doesn’t know what channel the game is on, who does?

    Live Aloha, Play Warrior!
