Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.
Back on later but just some things to get the conversation started this morning. It will be an interesting match up for Hawaii vs. Pepperdine on a neutral court. The Waves didn’t play well the last week of the season but neither did UH. If Hawaii were to lose to the Waves, don’t see them getting the at-large unless UCI wins the tournament. I’m sure many have wondered where Passi would end up playing. the former Wahine Passi use her final year of eligibility to play for Chaminade. She is part of the 2015 class announced by the school Tuesday. Passi joins freshmen setter Skyler Curry of Westlake High and middle Daisia LaBrie from Norco High (both California schools).
