Free tickets, posters; A-House's birthday
Hey, it’s Wednesday, which means … heck, I don’t know what it means. But we do have some stuff to give away. Here are the prizes and corresponding winning post numbers:
• Autographed Rainbow Dancer poster (donated by Ultimate Hawaii Gear Enterprises) — post No. 150.
• Two tickets (Lower Level, Section C, Row 6) to Rainbow Wahine volleyball match against Fresno State Oct. 26 (donated by Mark Platte) — post No. 250.
• Autographed Rainbow Dancer poster (donated by Ultimate Hawaii Gear Enterprises) — No. 300.
• Two tickets (Mauka Brown section, HH) to Saturday’s football game against Nevada (donated by Sandee Oshiro) — Post No. 505.
Rules: UH football coaches and Advertiser employees are not eligible to win the tickets, although they may win the posters. The Twins will be in charge of distribution.

Whoops. Forgot to mention that today is A-House’s birthday. He’s a great guy and one of the coordinators in providing championship bracelets for the Rainbow Wahine softball team.
I’m Ready!
Or going back to my American Graffiti days…
I’m a Ready Freddie !
…Or a Ready Teddy
Hat Trick!
Aloha Kakahiaka!
Mav – 500 more to go then you win the tickets
Mav- or Turkey!
Hi Stretch!
alright – contest day!
top ten…
Note to Stephen – Did you notify your webmaster(s) so no one gets scolded when the blogs crash?
gotta love prize day!
Kekoa – re your texting response in the last blog: My $30 analog phone doesn’t take pictures.since it doesn’t have a camera. It doesn’t have internet capability either which is why once I am gone from my computer, I can only be reached by phone if something needs to be addressed right away rather than waiting for up to 24 hours for a response. Also, I’d have to take out my contact lenses to see anything on that tiny two-inch screen.
Already have tickets for the volleyball and football games so good luck to the rest of you with today’s contest. What I’d really like – but would have to take a full day off in order to play – would be football sideline tickets.
Time to wuz outa here – all-day conference at the Ala Moana Hotel and then a presentation at the Capitol this evening about the floating garbage patch in the North Pacific Ocean.
Ronnie: If ticket pickup/delivery is still needed, we’ll be at the T-Gate for early setup and can deliver them that day. Just let me know one way or t’other.
morning all Tsai-kos looks like another hot and humid day
go Shane boy and Phillys

GO WARRIORS!!!
in the prizes didn’t it say that number 19 gets a pizza
haha i meant 20
WDoc- ANALOG???? didn’t know any companies still supported that…TDMA or CDMA?
We have ATT and I found the best teen phone is the $14.95 GO Phone from Walmart. I keep a spare around for the inevitable “oops”, I dropped the phone out of a moving car and it got run over” monthly drama…
Yeehaw Liz wins a pizza pie !
nostra_808 – welcome to the blog! Did you donate my pizza???
Bwahahaha!

Liz,
Scary stuff; esp. for me having just gotten over a long-lingering sinus infection.
Stephen,
Does Mack collect all the cameras, cellphones, notepads, etc. before letting the media watch practice?
Good morning Tsaikos…and lurkers…
Happy hump day…and good luck for winning prizes….
ST, am I 150 already?????
(J)J,
No, you just look that way!
(pah-dum-tsh)
I wonder how much envy in da house at the HA that one blog can have a contest for the 505th posted comment on any given day?
<—- # post i’m
?win i do what
oops
that didn’t work out as i thought it would. ha.
i need to learn from the wise one, homey.
d1,
hmm…I did get something in Boise…SICK!!!!
Good afternoon Tsaikos…(from TX)
Speaking of tailgates…anyone going to the New Mexico St. game?
djmitcho,
See? Dats why you didn’t see ME shaking hands with those Boise fans! 👿
Nah, hope you feel better soon.
Chawan – post #37 WINS a date with me. Can’t wait until you come back so that i can “warm” you up.
I’ll try to post these articles way before #150 so that I’ll be out of the way when people start trying to win the contests…
Nevada’s D is being “dummied down” due to the problems they have been having.
btw,
I don’t see the jersey on the list of prizes….
Too bad that Nevada’s D played a running QB in the last game. That means that they worked on schemes to contain the QB and got some game reps with it.
The Idaho Statesman has an article about the UH-Nevada game. Nevada will be a good test for UH’s D, since they scored at least 45 points in 4 straight games.
Nevada is 1st in the WAC and 5th in the country in tackles for loss…but they have a bad pass D that UH can hopefully exploit.
The conclusion of the article is bulletin board material for the Warriors.
Discussion thread on CBSSports.com about why Tyler isn’t starting.
Interesting that Bess never returned kickoffs in high school or college but was a starting kick returner in the NFL. Too bad Ginn has the job now, though in my opinion Bess is better suited for the punt returner and slot receiver spots anyway.
Article that mentions RGM. Looks like Clement went down with an injury, his backup Jackson got his spot, and RGM got Jackson’s spot. Since Clement’s injury seems serious, RGM should be getting an extended amount of time to play.
99club, I’m going to the New Mexico State game.
Good morning Tsaiko nation!
About 100 more posts to go..
Good luck to everyone.
Go Warriors!
mr/ms koa-mahu, #43,
sorry, i respectfully decline your offer. i think i’d rather stay up here and freeze.
Looks like the Pac-10 schedules much more aggressively in their nonconference games than the other BCS conferences.
W/Doc ~ If you don’t even have a phone with the capability, why are you worrying about not knowing how to send text messages?
Those who do, and Garret produced the overwhelming numbers that do…are quite comfortable with it. The phones are not that expensive these days, and neither are the service plans.
For the important work that you do around the capitol, this would be the handiest tool you could have. Think of the uses I outlined in my last post. There are many more a smart Lobby Lady like yourself could come up with I’m sure.
Come T-gate, I show to you.
I hope that the Pac-10 ignores the advice from ESPN…or JD’s scheduling job will be much, much harder now.
I did my part for the post count…now I’ll stay out of the way and let the prize rush begin. With the way the Advertiser server does batch processing, posts 250 and 300 could go within minutes of each other!
kevin basped that’s da guy, hopefully we can contain him so he don’t hurt us like he did last year…
CRW-
That’s two ‘den! I’m bringing my grill and most likely several pounds of kalbi. If you want to meet up email me at clubu99 at yahoo.
Wow- I got an interesting piece of advertising this morning- and immediately applied it to the Warriors – Coaches and Players!
“The most important leaders in organizations are the leaders closest to us
The foundation of leadership has remained the same for the last 25 years, and it´s not likely to change for the next 25 years
Leadership is personal
Leaders must be forward-looking, but it´s not the leader´s vision that matters most
The best leaders are the best learners, and most leaders don´t do the one thing that helps them learn best
Leadership is a relationship, and leaders should want to be liked
Talent is highly overrated; it´s practice that develops mastery
There is no “silver bullet”—no one thing that leaders can do to make dramatic improvements in their performance
Leadership is in the moment; it´s what you do every three minutes that counts the most ”
GO WARRIORS!
Call the Coach caller (He sounded like he was the original “Rolling Cooler-Cooler Rolling Guy”)…suggested the team do the Ha’a when they came back out at half-time. Coach said he would take it to the team captains to decide, but sounded very agreeable to the suggestion.
I know we have all seen the team kinda drag okole out after the half, so this might be a way of getting them ‘pumped.’ Hey! It’s either that or we all follow Kazz over the wall, rush the visiting bench and do the Tsaiko version of the Ha’a! (…not saying it would be pretty).
Another beautiful day in the Islands…
Speaking of text messages, just looked at last months cell bill and noticed the youngest daughter sent out 7,335 text messages. I guess she brought the average up a bit.
I wanna win a poster!
GO W A R R I O R S!
Kekoa-
LOL. Have any of us ever practiced it? Oh yeah, the blog bash. You’re right…it wouldn’t be pretty. 🙂
Wow, Sandee has luxury box seats!
99club and CRW- I wish I could meet up with you folks for the game! I’m going to be in Phoenix for a wedding that Sunday, so I was hoping to roadtrip over to NMSU, but my wife said I have to attend the rehearsal dinner Saturday night. Oh well- i’ll be there in spirit
I saw Kealoha Pilares once at the Navy Exchange in Pearl Harbor. I agree w/ what Mrs.A House said on a previous blog, he does have really pretty eyes.
*Back to lurk mode*
Chawan – eh, no ack I’m ALL woman!!! Ask Jason.
Kekoa,
Heard that caller last night. My thought was with the way things have gone so far with game officials, we’d likely start the 2nd half with either a delay of game or unsportsmanlike conduct penalty! Grrrrr…. 👿 🙁
99club,
Do you know what the parking situation’s like at New Mexico State? If not, I guess I’ll find out come game day (a la Fresno).
I wonder where the visitor’s section for NMSU is? I was planning on buying my tickets for that game on gameday, just getting there a couple hours early.
(J)J comes back and koa-mahu posts more often…coincidence? chance happening?
C’mon 150! Daddy needs a new poster!
homey – you can be MY Daddy, any day!!!
Not 150 yet….quick, we need more posts….
Yeah I know the Boise game is over and we have moved on but I find it hard to believe that the Warriors had no sacks against a youthful Boise o-line.
Okay, move on…
I wanna win the poster!
Homey…I think we should ask ST to try to get the Rainbow Dancers out to the T-gate…that would be awesome….or at least to our next Blog Bash….whenever that may be….
Homes ~ I’ll bring mines one to da t-gate so you may admire it from a safe distance. The poster is signed by all of the ladies of the Rainbow. Even XLiz has one!…Tell ST you are in serious need of one!
Koa-mahu – Daddy? Really? Well pull a number and get in line with rest of them.
Did I win?
(J)J – That would be a good idea! Would be good to talk with them and see what they are majoring in. 😆
Texas Tech has been having issues with their kickers missing PATs and half of their FG attempts….
So a fan who kicked a 30-yard field goal at the UMass-Texas Tech game to win a month’s worth of rent may be called upon by the Red Raiders to be its kicker for this weekend’s game against #18 Kansas.
Link for above article:
http://texastech.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=866497
CRW,
That could be called “Tua-proofing” your kicking game 😉
CRW-
Two years ago there was plenty of parking but I can’t remember if it was free or not. As for seating, we sat in section E on the visitors side. Click on my name for the link to the stadium map. I ordered tickets by phone and picked them up at the will call window but really didn’t need to since it wasn’t that crowded. They’re only $11.50 for military.
Is practice over yet?
hi d1!
fyi, the white Nike jersey will be the prize of the contest announced tomorrow…
see you at the tailgate? still have the prize you won the week of the La Tech game.
CRW- you certainly are committed! Way to go!!! and Go! and Go!
The TT kicker story is pretty amazing when you think about it. Nothing like open tryouts for the team!
Another post closer to 150
Whoosh!
Almost there!
midori7 – I’ll most likely go to Therapy’s. Do they have a pupu menu?
Thanks midori7!
Yep. See you on Saturday. 🙂
BTW- I love how the Tsai-ko Ohana extends across the country and supports the Warriors in the hostile stadiums!
It’s another Warrior FIRST DOWN/TOUCHDOWN is the Tsai-ko BATTLE CRY wherever the Warriors play!
Woo Hoo!
Here’s the link if you want to buy tickets in the Hawai’i section:
http://hawaiiathletics.com/sports/2008/8/11/GEN_0811085736.aspx?id=35
At least you would be with other Warrior fans – and could make the section louder! 99club, how many are going with you?
Rainbow Dancers! Oh Yeah! I’ve found them to be a very high spirited group of young women who would prolly love the idea of coming to our Bash! I’ll see to it personally!…Homes, would you care to assist?
James ~ We are considering Saturday, the 18th of July as a primary date for the Bash. (25th as the back-up). We want to lock in a spot first and get it financed as we had planned. Then we can let the off islanders know way ahead of time so they can plan vacation time and Air trans/etc.
Lots of lessons learned to make things even better this year. We will post info as we move along. Always open to more suggestions tho. If you would like to join our Special Ops crew and help plan this rascal, see me, BG, Stretch, Koakane or Wreck.
100?
Anyone know what the average YAC is for the Warriors? Curious to know since a household member pointed out that they don’t run far after they catch the ball…and then went on to say they don’t run far after they rush the ball. 🙄
Ronnie-
Looks like just me. My youngest boy has a school play that he’ll be prep’ing for that Saturday. He’s my good luck charm. Hawaii has never lost a game he’s been at: BYU, SJSU (twice), NMSU.
hi
Bumping for Rainbow Dancers. You on fish? Hehehe
darn, its post 150, not 100 for the poster. 😛
wow, never knew tt’s kicking situation was so dire. makes you appreciate what we got here even more. interesting to see tt is a dog too. could see tt go down this week and then take out da horns next week. very interesting in the big12.
and now romo’s out til mid november. bad things going on in big D. might as well try out brooks bollinger, think he might be better than brad johnson. they could seriously be under 500 coming out of the bye, not good in the nfc east…
good to see pollard and lofton gonna get a chance to show what they got. any reason we’re not seeing mouton as a pr. is that problem a blocking situation as well like the kick returns…
99club – it would be more money, but may be more fun to sit in the Hawai’i section. And the cheerleaders are outstanding!
I have a dilemma… I can go to the Utah St, NMSU, and last home game OR I can take my boys to the last home game.
Liz-
NM ST. fans have to be the nicest folks. We had a great time sitting next to them last time.
I guess I have to try and make time in my very busy day. Gotta try for the posters!!!
Yikes! From the link that 99club provided, I just saw that NMSU plays Boise for their homecoming game!
wun hunnerd!
99club,
Have you ordered your tickets for this game yet? Section E doesn’t look that bad. NMSU tickets are pretty cheap (relatively speaking) so even getting the best seats in Aggie Memorial Stadium won’t cost more than $18! Try getting that at Aloha Stadium!
Liz,
Thanks for the compliments!
Ronnie,
Thanks for the link. I was looking for it. Don’t know if I’ll still be able to grab some off of the allotment, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
Back to lurking…………..
Ronnie,
That’s an easy one. Take the boys to Hawaii!
Oh well.
Wun tun ten?
CRW, since that guy got paid for kicking, could he considered a professional?
C’mon ….150
Ronnie – Take the boys! Wot wuz u tinking!
CRW,
I think the UH allotment is going be okay…Stretch said he not going! 😉
Won’t be long now!
CRW-
Nah, I’m just going to walk up and buy them the day of the game.
If a poster wins a poster isn’t that redundant?
Hi Ronnie! IMHO reward the boys and bring them home for a small-kine vacation.
di-
We’ll have to check with the Dept. of Redundancy Dept.
di=d1島
My oldest son is giving me small kine attitude about going… “I hate going through security at the airport, especially if it’s only for a weekend.” and “I don’t mean to sound rude, but I’m just not as in to the team this year.” are the latest comments…
I guess 6 weeks is enough time for his attitude to improve 😈
Hey H-Bod! You plan on showing up Saturday?
Ronnie,
Hmm…so you can share pictures of Logan, UT and Las Cruces, NM with your kids or bring them back to the aina?
How you figgah?
Ronnie – well in that case leave the boy home.
Ronnie,
sounds like someboddy’s looking forward to “Home Alone” time?
So it’s redundant if the Pope has a shirt with holes in it?
Pomai-
Hawaii 38 UNR 17
Mahalo!
twenny fi’ mo!
poster is mine!!!!
k-den, make it twenny….
Hi Hawaiianbod!
It’s more like forced family time for him, and a vacation for my younger son, and a Christmas present for me!
Oh, and a chance to see how Claritin works for my son’s allergies, and a way for my sister to not have to pay for shipping of Christmas gifts… 😆
If I don’t win a the poster then I’m gonna buy a poster of Brooke Burke.
Getting closer
I’m doing this for my kids…really.
Hmmm….I no even like posters????
Yeah, I think he would like Home Alone time… But after the Boise game – it ain’t gonna happen!
“Mom, I could have sworn that I told you about my friend’s birthday party…”
I – can’t – stand – the – suspense
I don’t want the poster – we already have 2!
Almost there…
me?
I figure the blog will crash in about 5 more posts…
Ronnie-
Did they have it at your house? 🙂
99club – the poster will help you relieve the suspense.
cheepono
150!
Getting closer to the poster
go warriors!
homey:

homey – not sure. Don’t have a ticket to the game.
FARK!
Congrats cheepono!!!
Off by one twice!
hello everyone
Oh well. Have a good day everyone, I really gotta get back to work.
H-bod – no need ticket to come to the t-gate. jm23556699 just comes, makes trouble, then leaves.
Congrats cheepono!
Kekoa…always willing to be part of the planning crew. I think the crew we had last year (this past year) did a bang up job and worked well together….count me in. Just need to keep me updated.
Hmmmmm…..I think Homey wants the RDs to come to a T-Gate as well though….LOL
150???
Cheee-hooo cheepono!
faafetai tele lava.
midori7 – I guess I’ll just drink and wait for 11:00.
99club, no he went to dinner with a group of friends. It’s just that I didn’t find out about it until I talked to my mom to see if he was watching the game with them. My mom told me he told her he had talked to me about it.
Dang….I couldn’t post….said I was posting too fast…..and no funny comments homey….Aiyahhhhhh….
Congrats cheepono….
…on to 250.
On they road…to the 300.
one prize gone
(J)J – The blog doesn’t lie. premie!!!!
Howzit Ralph!
Everyone looking good today?
Not much to do at work today, other than pack up my one box for my move to the other side of the building…
Ronnie,
Is that one box for your UH stuff alone?
Ronnie – in that case, bring the youngest and leave the oldest with your brother. If nothing else, make sure that you’ll come.
am i eligible to compete for the other prizes or is it only one prize per contestant per day?
in either case….
goooooooooooo warriors.
homey….ROTFLMFAO….I knew you’d get it and say something….
Okay…one more chance….C’mon 300
One more poster to go…
Let’s go 300!!!!!!
cheepono – go for it!!!
Ronnie-
Then the pics of the Cincy tailgate should be priceless. 🙂
Where’s Garret when you need him….Quick Garret, post more of your wonderful finds from the web on here…boost the numbers…..LOL
Looks like I won’t be around to win #300. Next time I leave my cell phone off!
cheepono,
You can compete for as much as you like; nothing in the rules against it but if you claim your prizes at the TsaikoGate you’ll undoubtedly face unbridled scorn and ridicule….
Nah, j/k 🙂
I saw that reservations for the Na Koa football banquet are due 11/14. I saw that a few people were planning to go. Will there be enough Tsaikos going to get a couple of tables? Maybe Stretch will be in charge again, since he has the Na Koa connections 😉
Looks like Western Kentucky U. is in lockdown due to gunfire. Online on CNN.
99club,
Heard about that…sad.
Congrats Cheepono!
Is it 300 yet???
(J)J – What can’t hold on till 300? BTW, what you bringing to the t-gate? No more your Steinlager cause koakane drank it all.
I think I’ll bring manapua to the tailgate.
Gotta go watch PTI…laters.
Ronnie – manapua? Is that your son’s nickname?
homey – 😆 😆 you are too funny!!!
Article about high school athletes going through the recruiting process. I wonder if Notre Dame knows that an inmate is trying to help recruit football players for them?
Note about why college coaches continue to recruit players even after they committed to another school.
Not sure if this has already been posted.
Colt Brennan hazing.
ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgSDXYMwoQI
Hilarious! Gotta love the song he chose!
Ronnie:
I am off today so if I can do anything towards helping with the ticket thing let me know…gdholdenatlivedotcom
BBL…damn!
Looks like I’ll be buying a Brooke Burke poster. May as well pick up a Jessica Alba one too.
That is all I could find without going too far off topic. Good luck to the people going after the prizes and congratulations to cheepono!
Congratulations! to cheepono!
Checking in to help out…
Hiya Koa-Mahu !
Missed your chatter (in a weird sort of way)…
Hey, did post #200 win anything ? ?
curveball, I left a message for him last night and didn’t hear back. I just sent him a text – let’s see if he responds. Otherwise, maybe WassupDoc can bring them to you at the t-gate. Are you going to the t-gate?
LilMermaid –
Wow, you got up close and personal with Kealoha Pilares!? Luckyeeee!
I haven’t been as fortunate. His gorgeous eyes are clearly evident even through the face guard of his helmet (on tv) after he completes an awesome running gain. I first noticed them when he was interviewed after practice one day.
Heal quickly, Kealoha…we need you…but be sure you are 100% ok before you hit the field again.
Ronnie:
I am now a total tail-gate guy..I am Mr. Watermelon….
Hiya!
Happy Early Halloween! (not for the squeamish)
http://sendables.jibjab.com/category/halloween#/owner/VdwDgd88N2J3mMBj
Just trying to speed up the count towards 250.
Nevada results this year:
Beat Grambling State 49-13
Lost Texas Tech 19-35
Lost Missouri 17-69
Beat UNLV 49-27
Beat Idaho 49-14
Lost New Mexico State 45-48
Beat Utah State 44-17
Oops forgot to say:
Congratulations to cheepono!!
Ronnie- do you still have a ticket for Ukuleleboi too?
We were able to get up close and personal with the Rainbow Dancers at the Aiea Elementary School Na Koa parking lot. They set up their tent and were selling their autographed posters. Let me tell you guyz, show up and be dazzled by these lovely young ladies. Each of them wears false eyelashes, BUT that is part of the “show-biz” make-up required to look their most fabulous when they perform. They are also very accommodating when asked to have pictures taken with them and of them. Their calendars will on sale very soon…maybe in November?
Good thing none of the players read this blog so they don’t see Lilmermaid and Mrs. A-house’s postings about Mr. Pilares.
Mrs. A-House, I wish I got up close & personal w/ him! Nah, I was with my hubby & two screaming keikis so it wasn’t a good time to stop & talk stories. He is gorgeous fo sho! Get better soon Kealoha!
Cheepino is eligible to keep winning.
OK, now he has to e-mail me at stsai@honoluluadvertiser.com and leave me distribution information.
99Club –
haha.. I will tell Mr. Pilares myself how gorgeous I think he is the next time I see him. And that he’s a darn good football player too.
Good noon everyone!
Just finished up the initial TSAI-KO CRUISERS web page with data supplied from the known ocean cruisers… like Garret, Long Time UH Fan, Tom Mui, myki & sj-macro, etc.
The first section shows the reported planned cruises. If you are thinking of a cruise in the same region and time period, maybe this will influence you 🙂
The second section is a reference table listing most cruise regions and who has been to what ports. Need tips and want to know who’s been to Skagway or Tasmania?… do a “find” with your web browser at
http://home.hawaii.rr.com/smurashi/tsai-kos/cruisers.html
This gets even more interesting as people add their experiences and future cruise plans. So, please share your past cruise info (ship and ports visited) and definite future cruise plan (ship and departure date). email me at stevem.hnl (at) gmail.com
Time to start Tsai-ko piling on the HA SERVER…WOOHOO!
Koa-Mahu –
Why are you ignoring me?? Please acknowledge my attempts to help you. I sent you some advice a while ago on how to elevate yourself from Drag Princess to Drag Queen. Obviously, if you are content to post on this blog and not go the next step and enter the Drag Queen contest in New York City, then you need this advice…
1. Let good thoughts be your sword and shield…
2. Ignore adversity…
3. Abide by the rules of love…
4. Stand up and be recognized, others’ approval not needed, imagine good things and believe in yourself…
That adds up to quit hitting on really nice guys like Jason and Chawan_cut. I want to be your friend…I want to take a picture with you…and I want you to sign my book… 😛
Hi Liz! Yes, I still have Ukuleleboi’s ticket 😀
Add one more to the contest count… 😆
Howzit Everybody,
It’s contest time. Are we there yet.
Tsai, cruising… lemme see- 1999 – The Constitution- 4 day Interisland Cruise.
I would think the server will endure backbraking strain near posting 300 and 505
Thanks, Ronnie! He can pickup from Mr. WatermelonMan 😉
Let’s get to 250 first…
300?? Dang…
Homey…probably some steak or sausages or hot dogs…depending on where I go shopping. I was thinking about bringing some Sam Adams Boston Lager this time…
GO, WAHINE!!!
I’m bringing oyster pies again… oh wait… Rob25 is in Dallas… ok. Lilikoi Chiffon Pies!
Are we there yet
No VB fans here???
Hey, I wouldn’t mind the volleyball tickets. I’m not doing anything Sunday afternoon. Heck, I might still be asleep after celebrating the Warrior victory over Nevada Saturday night.
almost there gang
c’mon guys… I’m just holding my block for someone to get through to 250!
So how close are we to 250
Aaron bain as the new punt returner, seriously, well good luck Mr. Bain, that portion of special teams looks like it needs big improvement. hope you can provide it.
maybe a chance to see a lot of new faces in new places this weekend, bain, pollard, nasca, lofton. good luck boyz…
D1(kanji) –
Shucks…I was going to tease you that the white jersey (really nice!) is nicely laundered and hanging in my closet. Nah, j/k…it is HUGE…just right size of a big handsome hunk like you…hangs down to well below my knees….a reality check, for sure…just how big, strong and brave you have to be to don the uniform and play the game of football…no joke.
SOMEBODY hasta wanna see UH beat Fresno AGAIN!!! 😆
After a home victory, I’m so pumped up that I don’t get to bed until 3:00 or 4:00. After a loss, I’m in depression dreamland by 1:00.
Mrs. A-House- does the jersey have a number???
Sounds like it will match my XXL white Colt Brennan Redskin jersey!
250??
Go Warriors!!!!
Closer to 250
I hate being sick. Maybe some duck noodle for dinner would be good.
Whosh!
now
Hi Duffer, Keyton and Whitey –
Hope all is well on Maui. Some fortunate audience will enjoy Nalani’s beautiful voice this weekend. You folks coming to the T-gate or any other one this season?
Hurry everyone…before my boss catches me on the blog site
250
Maybe it’s 250 time now
250???
WordPress
You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.
One last try
and how bout now
Congrats, STRETCH!!!
missed by one, not that I could use the tickets anyway
250 again
Congratulations Stretch. Now back to work for me.
Congrats Stretch
Eh Strech Congrats Brah
Congrats Stretch!! Lucky buggah you..
Hey but wait a minute….the big one is at 300
Ronnie ~ Ask our favorite Pauoa Marine (not Gomer Pyle) to find something very physical that the boys can do while you are vacationing in the South Pacific.
I’m quite sure that by Marine standards he will require them to carry, push, pull, throw, paint and then salute, a well chosen item of interest.
Might I suggest da slippah as the ultimate motivating factor. It should be applied as directed to the lower bottom of the Okole with short, heavy-handed strokes. Yelling and screaming at the top of ones lungs while delivering each blow will normally stimulate the desired results.
For example: (Whack!…I…Whack!…told…Whack!…you….Whack!…to…final Whack!…get on dat plane!
Sorry, I can’t go to the game, just trying to see how lucky I am. How about 275 instead, halfway between 250 and the next prize at 300.
yes!
Hi LizK –
The jersey bears the #96 and is the “away” white…perfect to wear to game if/when Coach Mack requests fans to “wear white”. Good luck!
You know, a Rainbow Dancer poster might make be feel better
Are we there yet?
275 yet??
dj – if you win the poster, you better not be feeling yourself.
Man..soo close but yet so far….
The poster might make me feel young again.
Our high school marching band used to play a song called “Watermelon Man” during football games 😀
Here’s a link to a jazz version:
http://play.rhapsody.com/herbiehancock/takinoff/watermelonman?didAutoplayBounce=true
So I could win the poster even from Temple Texas?
Cool! Fale Laele! 96!
Closing in on 300
now?
Dj…if you win…I’ll pick up the poster for you….fellow Monarch….MWAHAHAHAHAHA
The dancers poster would look good next to last year’s team sugar bowl poster
Mad Dog wins Stretch’s VB TIX????
Stretch –
You sly buggah, you…make like you not interested in winning, but you got the “magic touch” and WON! Congratulations! anyway, even if you’re not interested in the prize. Sorry, you can’t change the rules…be there or be square (words just popped into my head).
300???
Hey Ronnie!
I don’t remember “Watermelon Man”
It’s cold here. The wind is blowing like a mother as Coach Mack would say.
Just constructively adding to the count…
Margarita Presidente
1 ¼ oz Sauza Conmemoritivo tequila anejo
½ oz Cointreau liqueur
½ oz Presidente brandy
4 ounces (1/2 cup) sweet & sour mix
Spash Rose’s lime juice
1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with crushed ice. Shake.
2. Pour drink into a martini glass rimmed with salt. Add a lime wedge and serve with the remainder of the drink in the shaker on the side. Serves 1.
I’m trying to win the poster for homey!
are we there yet
Mrs. A-House…adding to the count…woo hoo…
Productivity at Tsai-ko populated businesses has come to a grinding halt…
Ronnie,
Watermelon Man.
Herbie Hancock…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo5GcYeh7XA&feature=related
Look at all the posts! No fair! I’m sooooo far away!
Congratulations Stretch!
Hi Rob! How was your flight?
300?? I’ll definately take the poster
Wow, thanks ST. There have been a lot of prizes this season.
Ronnie…homey doesn’t need it…all those dancers are too tall for him anyway…MWAHAHAHAHHAA
Let’s get to 300 quickly before my boss begins to wonder why I’m taking 30 minutes to accomplish a 10 minute task on the computer.
300?
Are We There Yet?
And the HA server is grinding – and it’s not even at 300 yet!
nooooo!!!
300 NOW
afternoon gang!
me
300
300
300???
NOw
Rob, I think you’ll remember it when you hear it 😀
It must be a rush. My computer is really slowing down.
300
Rob62,
That’s a “Tought Mother” Wind
bingo!
HEY! Did anyone catch that YouTube video of Colt getting “initiated” by the Redskins?
He was forced to stand on his chair and sing. He sang “Looking In Your Big Brown Eyes” by Bob Marley.
AINOKEA what Colt did for UH and Hawaii in general but… I felt abused having to listen to it!!!! 😆
Just kidding, we love you Braddah Colt!!! Just stick to your day job and stay away from da karaoke!!!
Honest…I’m just trying to get someone else closer to the “winning” post # quickly. It’s my “lun chau wah” so only a few more posts before I feed my face…no, no, those are harsh words…satisfy my gestational cravings…that’s bettah.
LOA is da winnah!!!
Good Afternoon Loa!
😆
how come the blog so slow today?
last post took forever
I think my postings have to route through Paraguay.
deng….myssed it by 1.
congrads Loa! enjoy the poster. 🙂
좋은 아침 사이코스!
Good Morning Tsai-kos!
Are we there yet?
Loa, you sonofa…. 👿
Congrats!!!
I missed! And no sense I try for 505 since I cannot use da tix. Oh well congrats Loa
Onwards to 505!
Hi Ho!
wow it got up to 300 real fast
Kazz –
I viewed Colt’s “karaoke hazing” and to tell you the truth, I couldn’t tell that he was “singing” a song. So cute to watch him, though. That’s my boy…he’s such a good sport to take the razing like that for the team.
…on to #505…
Next stop, Five-O, five.
d1 – howzit!
I think the blog postings are being handled by state entities. Whereby our posts are organized by IP#s and then a delegation of nominated officials determine the committee in which the posts are applied to the blog server. Once that is done the post must be approved by another committee. The members of the final approving body are then allowed to be in the next committee to approve the next post.
😆
Loa –
Congratulations! lucky buggah…such a simple greeting with genuine love expressed…nice!
OK, so everyone stopped posting….
it’ll be a while to 505…
505
TChahng-
Howzit TChahng…nicely done with the Korean!
The first letter for ‘Korea’ next to your name is off. Should be 대한 민국
[…] is the original post: Free tickets, posters del.icio.us […]
Oh Mrs. A-House, I think you missed the extended version of the video in which Todd Collins says he could do better, to which Colt replied, “singing or on the field?”… then the entire team replied, “SINGING”. mwhahahahahahahahaha!!!
Nah just kidding. 😉
Well, I guess I should get back to work. See everyone later
Cool story with a Colt Comment!
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2008/10/jim_zorns_symphonic_masterpiec.html
Betty and I got back to the Islands yesterday before noon, and are seriously jet-lagged today. I managed to find my way to my parking spot at work, but couldn’t remember what floor I worked on when I got in the elevator!!! Also forgot the password to get into the comuter system! Auwe!
Thankfully, we have a few days to recover before making it to the T-Gate. So good to be back!
GO WARRIORS!!!
Good timing Loa. Now for the big 505! Saturday might be an offensive show.
Welcome home, BG and Betty!
d1- the server is batching again- people are still posting…
Well, since everyboddy is jus’ watching now…
Post-game Breakfast Call!
Sunday, 10-26 at 9:00 am
Nancy’s Kitchen
Waipio Shopping Center
Attending so far:
-d1島
-Mrs. d1島
-LizKauai
-Ukuleleboi
probably Kekoa and Mrs, Kekoa and Koakane
BG,
Welcome back boss! WHY did you return to work so suddenly after such a long trip? That’s insane. You need a 5HR Energy Shot. Believe it or not they work.
If UH beats Nevada, that’s my cue to buy Hawaii Bowl tickets.
D1-
Count me in for this Sunday at Nancy’s.
Welcome back BG and Betty!
Welcome back BG! I was waiting for the ‘Red’ TAC alert phone to ring. Glad you were able to find your way home. Did you call 222-2222?
250
hey thanks a lot gang and thanks to Ultimate Hawaii Gear Enterprises
no wonder the bugga was posting so slow 🙂
Kazz,
You got it.
미안, I fell asleep a lot in my Korean class.
Why wait till UH gets a win against Nevada to buy Hawaii Bowl tickets? Hawaii football fans should attend no matter who is playing. Support your local bowl game, or you might see it disappear like the Aloha/Oahu bowls.
Yeah I realized I should have ordered something else for breakfast the last time I was there, so this time I can make up for it. The link sausage wasn’t that good.
Did i Win -?
winner!
awe shucks!
d1島::
Mrs Curveball and I would like to attend……
nah no need wait to buy hawaii bowl tix, went to last year’s coming out party for chris johnson, his 4.2 speed is legit. WOW…
nah maybe you better wait, don’t wanna have tosee nmsu vs some team not from the pac-10, lol, forgot that da pac-10 might not qualify enough teams.
then again #347 might be right, if we don’t support then the bowl might go byebye
and if that’s two years of not so good support, then there’s a lot of pressure next year to fulfill that bowl attendance requirement…
If you are in Hawaii, it’s one thing, if you are on the mainland, it’s a bit harder.
So it’s on to 505
DPC,
What is the bowl attendance requirement?
Kazz
Try the Pork Adobo Fried Rice next time.
Curveball,
You got it.
Time to actually be productive for awhile…
be back around fo’ fiddy
i thought there was one, a 3 year average, or my old age could be catching up and i could be confusing it with something else…
something like 20,000 average over 3 years or get decertified. or was that for something else…
maybe that’s to stay in d-1, nevermind.
Congrats to the winners!
Loa – gotta pick up your poster at the t-gate.
If I lived in San Diego I would attend either the Poinsettia or Holiday Bowl.
If I lived in Pasadena I would attend the Rose Bowl.
If I lived in Las Vegas I would attend the Las Vegas Bowl.
Support your local bowl.
Come on baby 505
Pork adobo fried rice from Nancy’s…I give it a C-. If you want a good pork adobo fried rice then I recommend Thelma’s or Elena’s in Waipahu, or Mililani Golf Course, or Marilou’s in Wahiawa. Of course the best way to eat it is in an omelet.
What’s messed up is I am not a picky eater at all… except for breakfast. I guess it’s because I usually do not eat breakfast unless I go out to do so, or it’s between the hours of 1am and 5am and I am sitting in my car at the drive thru at Jack In The Box.
But that sounds good though. I’ll keep that in mind.
FWIW – 505 is a New Mexico area code.
Yeah Homey I agree, but for me I think that’s one of the better breakfast dishes they make at Nancy’s. Oh and the one at Mililani Golf Course is the bomb.
mrs. a-house,
thank you for your efforts to have koa-mahu come out of whatever it is he/she is hiding in. he/she can have Jason…
pretty sad that the only “hitting on” that i get is from him/her. ha. no thank you though.
I’m not going to the breakfast but I would suggest you guys try out Mililani Golf Course Restaurant for breakfast. May be a little more expensive than Nancy’s but you do get to putt and hit some balls on the driving range.
kama krab – no lie, you just luv Nancy’s pork adobo fried rice!!! I apologize if I rated your favorite pork adobo fried rice a little below average. Here, take my olive branch…
chawan – $40 nekohana gets you 15 minutes worth of being hit on!
😯 .. umm… you sure it’s pork… sorry but when I think of eating at a golf course I think back to… uh nevermind. 🙁
Has anyone seen if Wright-Jackson has gotten any better? Why was Reygo not mentioned in potential canidates to replace Pilares? He has far better vision than LWJ. Leon is not the same runner we saw in his highlight tape. Whats up with Heun
Keep Libre in as long as possible.
Kazz – No matter what meat you use just use good vinegar and as Wreck would say, “use swan shoyu”! Don’t porget daaaaa bay leap annnnnnd daaaaaaa feffercorn. aisooos maria.
Eh Homey
Stop making trouble, I like both.
JJ – I thought Heun was redshirting. I keep waiting for LWJ to have a breakout game but…Rego, tough good runner, not sure why he isn’t being utilized. We don’t see what the coaches see day in and day out so I just trust in what they decide.
July Jones
Jake Heun stay redshirt I think due to his injury.
kama krab – what? my olive branch no good? Here, take my marijuana branch.
Notice how the posts have slowed down since those posters were already given away…..MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Like ST said…maybe some big changes this week..gonna be fun..
homey ☷☴☲:
what kinda excellent dead meat are you bringing to the t-gate….
pssst, the branch stay leaf less…
505
Darn i’m to late for the posters and to far away for the tickets.
curveball – I’m bringing flat worms and XXLiz’s favorite, werewolf oyster gonads.
jojo – HI THERE! I’ll have you know the branch is of the Anheuser-Busch variety. It has “Bud” light on it.
wow…look at all the prizes. Post # 1001 – I’ll give you 2 tickets to the Hawaii – Nevada game for $32 each. hahaha
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=teamreports-2008-ncaaf-nnf&prov=sportsxchange&type=team_report
Nevada is going to be good. I liked watching Kaepernick as a freshman against Boise, I think. He pulled his lagging team all over the field and showed real leadership.
HiFlyer – at least you are not premie like (J)J.
Good afternoon Tsai-kos!
505? Unless I win da tix, I guess I not going game or t-gate. Eat plenny and cheer hard and loud for me, OK?
I see homey is making trouble as usual.
*twiddle thumbs while waiting for report to run*
5 hours later…386…
Jojo – cannot give the branch with the leaves on.
yo
jm2375 – you know that they sell tickets and that you don’t need tickets to come to the t-gate.
You actually twiddle your thumbs? so corny.
how does this work
homey ☷☴☲:
I will bring a secret sauce for that….
Hey, gang! Hi, ST!
yo fwam!
What’s shaking my man/woman?
anybody want to invite me to there tailgate on sat?
ESME! My favorite um ah ummmm, yeah my favorite!
what is everyones honest opinion about funaki?
HiFlyer – Good thing I’m not a horticulturist.
Just looked at SteveM’s cruise list. So what, no one ever went on a Disney cruise or no one’s willing to admit to? hehehe. 😀
Nah Homey I take um, but why you always gotta make fun of me. What you no like me no more. Oh and you can keep you marijuana branch cause I think not good for have that kind stuff around.
my honest opinion, he works hard at his craft. Not the ideal R-n-S QB but doing the best he can with what’s on his plate. That’s it in a nutshell.
adding to the post count. . . . .
kama krab – I thought you could use the marijuana branch and make rope or a Crazy shirt.
505?
Mrs. A-House:
October 22nd, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Honest…I’m just trying to get someone else closer to the “winning” post # quickly. It’s my “lun chau wah” so only a few more posts before I feed my face…no, no, those are harsh words…satisfy my gestational cravings…that’s bettah.
===
Mrs. A-House!!!
Congratulations!!!!! Is this your way of springing the surpising news on Mr. A-House?!?!?!?! Does Midori7 and MasaBoy know?
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
103 more to go.
homey,
thank you for the lesson.
We are almost at 500 + 5!
C’mon kama krab, keep posting! You wouldn’t happen to be related to Mr. Krabs? The one on Spongebob Squarepants show. Nevermind, different spelling for the last name.
Kekoa – so, did you replace da soap box you broke yet? Mrs A-house is looking for it. 😀
*still waiting for report to finish running*
jm2375 – no twiddle your thumbs keep posting so you get closer to 505.
re: homey post # 373
It’s mariyosep. It’s pertaining to Mary and Joseph, Jesus’ parents.
And that was your pilipino pack ob da day.
chawan – you are welcome. Let us know when you plan to visit one of those places.
412
We are close so I’ll try to win the tickets.
Costco Waipio has had a gas line out to the road since early this morning
I’m told these are excellent football tickets. They’re on the brown level, which is the loge level, which where the media/high rollers sit.
Ben Vegas: “I see a rainbow it’s in your eyes. So beautiful. It’s paradise.”
I hope this brings me luck.
414
Jay – My mom would always cut it short and say that because Maria was my grandmother’s middle name on my dad’s side. That’s how she got back at him…and thanks for the pack! 😆
And they’re the front row, so you can 1) put your feet up or 2) put your drink up.
Does that mean employees of the Advertiser SPOUSES can win the prizes?
I’m not an employee of the Advertiser.
good luck to the rest of you posters, time fo go work.
esme and out.
Stephen,
Does it come with a “lift” up to the upper level?
Hey, It was just a coincidence that he posted above me. I’m at work and I don’t know where he is.
jm2375- hoo, da playhouse not going be da same w/o you! Good luck on the tix!
fwam- no need invitation to da T-Gate- jes contact Kazz for da secret handshake and show up!
d1 – $2.899 a gallon! I went this morning at 6:30 and there was no waiting! I’m thinking of putting in an underground tank and store around 5,000 gallons of gas.
CHEEHOO!
Front row. Perfect place to launch paper airplanes.
wow over 400 post already
fwam – I’m not allowed to share my honest opinion of Funaki.
Hmm.. better check with Stretch regarding the perils of putting stuff where it could fall off the top level….
That was just a coincidence that he posted above me. I’m at work and I don’t know where he is.
Maybe I’ll try and find those tickets around the house!!
I think he took it up the hill to Midori
Hi Wena!
homey, favorite … what? Careful how you finish that sentence. 😆
anyone catch the drumline in front of the ticket office before games? they are pretty good. the cheerleaders were with them also. it was a lot of fun! i asked their leader and he said they’ll be there all season. they have this new drum cheer that is really good. it looks like they are trying to build more college atmosphere after seeing how Georgia does it at the Sugar Bowl.
I forget what the shelf life for gas is.
Wow, hey, there is Wena — my favorite person-married-to-a-sportwriter! *chuckling*
front row – bumbye I try to grab a helmet and sneak onto the field. Do they allow you to play football with one beer in your hand in the NCAA? Or should I ask, do they have a rule against it?
I know I’m getting old, but I just repeated myself because when I pressed submit comment, it looked like it didn’t go thru. So that’s why I repeated myself. I’m not senile yet.
Wena,
Does that happen often?
hmmm. dose tix sound good. If I win, jm2375 can sit in my old seat… BWAHAHAHA!
almost 500?
Haha. I know where homey lives. Now I know where to go for gas. 😆
how do you “twiddle your thumbs?”
Esme – When you come to a t-gate I’ll let you know. 😆 BTW, good luck with the Gridiron!
blog is slowing down as we get closer
If I win the tickets I’m going to have a sub-contest to give them to someone else.
Hi again!
I’ll be very jealous of whoever wins the football tickets.
Me neither! But then, how would we know?
wena- the blog server starts batching posts when it gets busy and dumps a whole bunch on at once after a short pause…
Drives us all nuts during a contest… and I can’t even imagine how the techs feel!
I blink and the count goes up. What happens if I sneeze?
servers getting a workout today.
“Puanani, come into my heart, hold me in your arms, so gently!”
CfK – Howzit going laser disk star!
TBA – someone posted a youtube vid of the drumline.
I sense a “crash” coming….
I wish they would have the drum line during the game, like between quarters. I get to the games too late to experience the college spectacle.
HERE WE GO!
we’re getting warmer
“Puanani, you’re the one I love, sent from up above, so sweet.”
Esme – Yeah, I’ll give you GAS. otot
where’s my post?
Please, I want to go!
howzit homey. FYI…sub-contest doesn’t mean see who can swim underwater the longest pretending they are a submarine
jojo – trust me don’t sneeze if you have the runs.
ST, any recruits visiting this weekend that you can mention?
Come on Ben Vegas and 5:05, give me luck!
there it is…
If my leg hurts, does that mean rain?
Robbie: You make me want to watch my Keali‘i Reichel DVD. (Ben Vegas sang that song in it. One of my faves.)
Wait, so these football tickets. So who’s sitting behind me, so that they tell me to sit down when I stand up in front of them? 😉
What’s happening on the 2009 recruiting trail?
It has suddenly gone cold ( no news ), but hopefully the coaches and our many “eagle-eyed” Tsaikos are on the job scouring the hills, valleys, oceans, rivers, dales, trenches, trees, lil and big mountains, etc – what the heck am I saying – “oceans, rivers” – neva know what’s going on!!!
I really and truly hope that the big time BCS coaches are putting down Hawaii to any local recruit so maybe they will say to them selves, “hey, coach is putting down my “home” and conclude,” that’s it, I am going to play for the Warriors!!!”
damn, I keep missing posts!
Geez, $2.899. That is just above what I pay for fuel at Costco — $2.869 this past Sunday.
is it just me or are we about to crash?
there it is.
fi’ hunnerd?
Please
TBA- the UH Drumline and Band ROCKS!
“Touching your face with my fingertips, caress your hair, I kiss your lips.”
Warp speed Spock!
If I have the runs, I take the pink stuff
Everyone, hit the “submit” key now!

Tickets?
Hey, jojo won!!!
Congrats jojo….too bad blog crashed for a while
Wouldn’t it be funny if the blog crashes (like it just did … I fear the repercussions) and nobody hit the winning post? It would be so neat to swoop in for the steal. Alas, not the case this time. Congrats to jojo!
Some Beach!
After a long wait….the winner is jojo. Congratulations!

I WIN!!!! Yay! I thought the server was banning me again!
99club- those deals are usually not offered in Hawaii…

Ok it was fun playing today but I think I gotta finish up this big pile of paper work in front of me. See everybody later.
Back to lurking.
koakane – I think H-bod stay at mcdonalds. He has a coupon for a free sandwich with the purchase of a meal.
I can drink by myself if necessary,
Ronnie – Ben Vegas is my guitar player. Sweetest guy. Super talented.
Homey and D1 –
Looks like it’s up to us three to get us to the BIG 600 !
BTW, I lovingly caress the stickers on my autographed helmet every day…and if either of you makes a snide remark about that innocent statement, you gonna really get it! 😡
Koakane,
You seem to have taken good advantage of the keiki leaving early today.
The earlier they go, the mo’ “off” your keyboarding…
heheheh
I have to leave pretty soon for a Dr. appt. but please do let us know if you want Kymry’s 6 tickets… Best Offer to Tsai-kos… no shame… let’s support her generosity and get some cheering people in those seats!

Mrs. A-house,
Uhhh….nice helmet…yep, go with that. 🙂

next time gang
Nalani –
Hi Nalani! Gonna miss you at this Saturday’s T-gate. Safe travels to you. Mahalo in advance for your “gift of song” in the form of cd’s. So kind and generous of you and Shelton.
Oh sorry – I meant Robbie.
d1 – that’s it, I’m gonna buy some stickers and stick them on my helmet.
Reminds me of what Michael Carter was saying today on Lunch. (Best radio show name ever.) He said, back when he was playing, people would come up to him and ask what was going on, stuff like that, cause he was the QB of the team. He says now, nearly 20 years later, people still recognize him, and come up to him and say, “You were the best option QB UH ever had, how come you’re not coaching?” He said long-term, now that he’s had all this time to reflect, he really appreciates being able to play at home and become so well-known here even many years later.
homey,
But you get one Guitar Hero, eh?
Wow, I just returned home and the contest is over.
But then, Mrs. A-House….I thought the lucky winning number was 550 but I had to recheck and yeah… 505 wins the tickets.
Congratulations Jojo.
What the Phoque is wrong with the servers? Comments are being posted very slow.
No problem Mrs A House. My absolute pleasure. Sorry to miss.
d1 teacher in grade level meeting so we kinda free.
I just go from one room to another to see if they need my assistance in any way.
is it me or the blog clock is 10 minutes quick?
Homey,
Maybe you should consider the “static cling” kine….
(pardon me while I cross my legs)
Hi Mrs A-house!
Methinks you need to use da lead slippah on homey and d1. Dey makin plenny kine trouble today! 😈
chawan – have fun with your cat flower. The thing is cat flowers don’t last too long so then you gotta shell out $40 more for another cat flower.
Homey,
Maybe they are running in Safe Mode?
Hi Nalani!
xs-homey- ukuleleboi says he will be your guitar player…
Ben Vegas is such an underrated talent. I love Puanani and Maile Lei.
homey: Ha, you start running toward me, and I’ll be like Kareem Nitoto, just jump right over you. Granted, I only have about a 12″ vertical, but that’s good enough. 🙂
#583 – BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!! look who’s talking!!!!
😈
Homey,
I think jmxxxx had the parental blockers removed from her ‘puter
jm23## – I no tink the Mrs can swing a lead slippah. too heavy.
Somebody forgot to teach Shane how to slide at home oouuuccchhh
Liz! 😯
d1 – And let’s not forget she did break a soapbox.
Jason – Oh another game we can play one on one, basketball…the second most popular Filipino sport. Should I bring my 4′ foot playskool rim?
4′ foot??? Talk about dumb redundant.
Liz – I thot you wuz my friend. 🙁 *sniffle, sniffle*
XXLiz – I hope he knows the words to songs too…
Homey – correction. Kekoa broke da soapbox. I tink a-sports would be more than willing to help Mrs. A-house give you a few whacks with da lead slippah. hehehe.
600!
4 feet? Haha, when I was little, I had one of those, but I propped it up to 5 feet (wanted to go higher, but our ceiling is 8 feet, and I was already starting to scrape some of the white stuff off every time I hit it). I was the master, I could hit any shot in the living room up to 20 feet. Broke the backboard so many times throwing down slam dunks that my Dad replaced the plastic backboard with one he made out of wood.
600!
600?
Nah, All I gotta do is keep feeding A-Sports belly pork and she is like butter in my hands.
Okay, two attempts at 600 have not gone through yet. Weird … *Twilight Zone music*
Good afternoon Tsai-kos everywhere! quite a bit of activity for all the contests. Congratulations to all the winnahs! Better luck next time to all others.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the T-gate.
Hi Mrs. A-House!!!
Since I am the only one that passed your test, or the only one who reads your posts does that make me your favorite?
Try “gastronomic” as opposed to gestational.
Did you have to do CPR on Mr. A-House? Is he up off the floor? Heck, is he breathing? I bet Midori7 was really excited — okay, probably a state of shock — for a while.
Jason – Best toy ever made was the electric football game with the plastic men moving in circles.
curveball agree with you looked soa. think he saw the ball and undecided on what to do….slide or no slide.
wafan – Mrs. A-House posted today?
Hey myki you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind hey myki, hey myki!

a k will do nicely but dplay if fine also
I think Mr. Tsai should have his meeting on the blog. That way they can see and experience how it feels when the servers crash.
HA! They would probably just e-mail him and tell him the blog is too popular and to stop it already.
Duh.
snack time and then poodle time.
Good grief. The posts sure take a long time to go through.
I was going to say today but that would have been redundant.
Hey, I had one of those too. I used to put clay on the bases of the linemen to make them more massive. Now, why does that remind me of Camellia… 😕
I’m too young to know what you guys are talking about. I mean, I know what you guys are talking about, but I’m claiming youthful innocence. 😉
So this is how the meeting is going:
Techie: We told you to stop crashing the blogs!
Stephen: But Sandee gave me the tickets …
Homey – my cousin had one of those electric fb games. After it broke, we used to hit da ting to make da guys go.
SteveM – That’s a funny!
clay=clay pot=korean food=Camellia’s

Hats for bats, keep bats warm.
Maybe Howard needs some hats.

RE: UH Marching Band Drumline
Pomai,
You can try contact Gwen Nakamura at gwenn (at) hawaii (dot) edu.
Coach Mack has closed practices to the public…
Two of three goals remain:
1) Sheraton Hawaii Bowl bid.
2) 100% graduation of all UH Warriors.
Nevada has a strong running game and has been prolific on offense.
Our defense remains our backbone, while our offense has yet to be consistent.
We must continue with creating turnovers and we MUST capitalize on them.
We sports fans have been accused of being superstitious.
As fans there is not much we can do to help with the result of the game. We wear the same clothes, we repeat rituals that previously preceeded victories and we cease rituals that previously preceeded losses.
We must go forth with no fear and with the faith that our Warriors will win the day.
jm2375- haha, I AM you friend… but I gotta protect you from YOURSELF… Bwahahaha!
On to choir practice…

The LA Times has a mention of the BSU-SJSU game.
Looks like Reggie Bush wants to pay off the person suing him and keep all testimony away from the NCAA.
I know that UH had a *really* hard time beating BYU, I sat through game after frustrating game at Aloha Stadium. However, at least UH broke through and never had the type of mental block that Oklahoma State has with Texas.
I know a couple of people here (including 99club) were discussing how Colt McCoy would go to the NFL after this season…but I predict he’ll be like UH’s Colt and return for his senior year.
Garret:—San Jose State, in eight tries, has never defeated Boise State.
I think it is time for that to change…do not like them, but I am for them
Interesting that NFL coaches are telling Texas that Colt McCoy won’t be downgraded because he’s in the shotgun just about all the time in college. Wasn’t that a big criticism of Colt Brennan?
curveball,
I would love for SJSU to beat BSU! I know that could cost UH some cut of the BCS money, but I would love for Coach Tomey to win the WAC since UH cannot.
Frank Gansz had an amazing impact on NFL (and therefore NCAA) special teams play. I’m glad that he was able to coach for a period of time for UH.
Gotta get a shout out to that Main Man, Mr. A-House, before this jet-lag takes me down for the count tonight.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A TRUE-TO-THE-END FAN(ATIC) OF THE WARRIORS…MISTAH A-HOUSE!!!!
Frank Gansz has been doing an *amazing* job at SMU. They don’t have the talent that so many other teams do, but they are covering kicks and returning kicks well, even pulling off fake punts, etc. JJ knew that his players weren’t going to be able to win the other phases all the time this season (their D was horrible last season is really bad now and their offense is learning the system while playing a ton of freshman and sophomores), but they spent 20-30 minutes each Spring Practice and a fair amount of time in the Fall on special teams…
I didn’t get a chance to say this earlier–welcome back BG!
BG:
cant wait to hear about your trip on Saturday…hows the daughter?
I got inspired and looked up some special teams stats…we almost never discuss this. Talent, especially depth, matters on special teams just like the other two phases…but in my opinion, coaching shows up more on special teams than in either of the two phases. I hope that the changes being made this week make a difference here, as UH needs to win the special teams battle vs. Nevada!
Punt Returns
8. NMSU, 17 yards per return
12. La Tech, 15.45 yards per return
53. Fresno State, 9.92 yards per return
66. Idaho, 8.8 yards per return
80. SJSU, 6.89 yards per return
82. BSU, 6.75 yards per return
82. Nevada, 6.75 yards per return
88. Utah State, 6.43 yards per return
116. SMU, 3.9 yards per return
120. Hawaii, -0.33 yards per return
Welcome back BG and Mrs BG! Hope you had a good time in Okinawa.
Garret:
Hopefully this is one of our big changes…that’s pitiful
After looking at this stat, I actually don’t know if it means anything. A good return could lead to pooch kicking (like UH did vs. Weber State), which would reduce the return yardage.
Kickoff returns
9. Fresno State, 25.6 yards per return
14. SJSU, 24.95 yards per return
87. Nevada, 20.07 yards per return
95. NMSU, 19.63 yards per return
96. SMU, 19.62 yards per return
102. Idaho, 19.31 yards per return
104. BSU, 19.20 yards per return
106. Hawaii, 18.95 yards per return
114. Utah State, 18.04 yards per return
Happy Birthday sir!
and here’s tonight’s news
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iTOt8G1PKU
G’nite!
Hi, Gang,
Attempted to post all day, but every time I was trying to enter the club house, I was run over by a bunch of stampeding, prize crazy Tsaikos, almost lost my life….lol.
Happy Birthday, Mr. A-House, hope your ladies are treating you most excellently? Enjoy your day.
Since I’m curious, I’ll look up more stats.
Opponent Punt Returns
5. La Tech, 2.81 yards per return
23. SJSU, 4.89 yard per return
41. Utah State, 6.42 yards per return
44. BSU, 6.5 yards per return
72. Fresno State, 9.38 yards per return
77. NMSU, 9.92 yards per return
87. Nevada, 11.62 yards per return
91. SMU, 12.71 yards per return
95. Hawaii, 13.31 yards per return
97. Idaho, 13.71 yards per return
happy birthday A House….hope mrs. A House sing you a nice lullaby- the Herman Frazier Waltz….
~~•~~~•~~~•~~Happy..Birthday..A-House!!!~~•~~~•~~~•~~
Wishing you max limits every time you’re fishing, progressive jackpots and “6-number Fire” rolls, and of course – scores and scores and scores of UH victories (all kinds) for you to enjoy! 😀 😯 😆
I’m impressed with La Tech being #5 in the country at both punt and kickoff coverage.
Opponent Kickoff Returns
5. La Tech, 17.0 yards per return
16. SJSU, 17.96 yards per return
41. BSU, 19.75 yards per return
63. SMU, 21.03 yards per return
85. Utah State, 22.72 yards per return
99. Hawaii, 23.5 yards per return
106. Fresno State, 24.28 yards per return
107. NMSU, 24.41 yards per return
108. Nevada, 24.69 yards per return
115. Idaho, 26.7 yards per return
Garret,
I think our stats on ST’s have been somewhat scewered because of the really bad games against Forida and OSU. I think we have quite a bit of improvement there since then and are still getting better, hopefully.
Last year UH was #20 in the country in punt returns with a 12.44 yard per return average…though I remember Bess driving me crazy with how many times he let the ball drop during the first 1/2 of the season.
FloridaTed,
I hope that you are correct. I know that one of the biggest plays of the season for UH was Mouton’s kickoff return for a TD against Fresno State. The coaches came up with the 1-returner scheme and it caught Fresno State by surprise, and that was an amazing job by the coaches that might have been the difference in the game!
Trouble is, BSU adjusted to the change and really shut down Mouton and the whole kickoff return unit, and UH had no counter-adjustment. Hopefully the changes being made will make a difference vs. Nevada!
FloridaTed,
Throw out all the games that UH played against ranked teams…and UH has a punt return average of 0.44, which I think would still be the worst in the country.
FloridaTed,
I looked it up–in UH’s first 4 games (which included the Florida and Oregon State games), they have a punt return average of 0.0. In October (Fresno State, La Tech, BSU), UH has a punt return average of -0.67! No wonder Mac wants to make changes!
So, things were actually better for the stats earlier in the season!
Garret,
Agreed, bur they are showing more and more flashes and that is my hope that they will improve. We sure could use it against Nevada,
Testing …
Wafan –
You are hereby inducted into our A-House Ohana. That’s it for now…until I officially give you a lil’ hug and kiss…and you sign my book…har, har, har…
I shouldn’t dwell on this, so I’ll just say one more thing and put this behind me. If UH is going to rely on the D and play conservatively on offense at times (like at the end of the first half), then the field position battle is important. If UH opponents are getting 13.31 yards per return on punts and UH is getting -0.33 yards per turn on punts, then exchanging punts gives about 14 yards to the other team.
Every successful defensive-oriented coach and team that I’ve seen has *also* had solid special teams. I’m glad that Mac and the rest of the coaches are changing things up now, and hope that things get better soon.
I know that the Warriors give it their all on special teams, literally sacrificing their bodies to cover kickoffs and block for returns. However, something is obviously missing and hopefully they will figure that out soon.
One thing that hasn’t shown up in the stats is the fumbles that the cover units have caused lately. Those have been very, very important and are huge plays. Turnovers on special teams are game changes, just as important or even more important (for momentum) than turnovers on offense.
Wow, it actually shows up now. 😀

Garret: I agree. And I’m not going to name names or throw anybody under the bus, but some players need to play with heart and discipline. And if they aren’t going to do that, then we need to put in players who are willing to play with heart and discipline.
Someone asked Coach Aranda the other day what unit on the team he thought was the best. After a moment to think it over, he said all of them. All eleven on the field have to work together to make a play work. Aranda mentioned one play against Boise State when he thought they were going to get a sack. The blitzers hit their gaps at the right time, and they were about to get him … but one of the defensive linemen was not playing his assignment, so that allowed Moore to scramble for good yardage. From sack to to a significant gain, all because of one player not being disciplined. Plays like that can make or break drives, which can make or break games.
The one thing I learned the other day, listening to Aranda talk, was that we as fans may see some of the big picture things, but we don’t always notice the details. We talk about how we need to improve in this aspect or that, but we fail to see that it didn’t work out because of a player not using the right technique there, or a player not being in the right gap there. But the players and the coaches know, and they work hard to fix those problems. All those small things get fixed, and I believe this team can be a smoothly-running machine. I’m not saying expect 70-0 wins, but there can be significant improvement.
Jason- yep.

That Idaho Statesman article Garret linked to way back in post #47 was great….
“Last Saturday, the team scored at least 45 points for the fourth straight game with a 44-17 defeat of Utah State at Mackay Stadium in Reno.”
Because if you score 44 points you truly have extended your streak of scoring 45 points or more. Someone needs an editor.
Happy Birthday, A-House!
expat- haha true Tsai-kos never let the facts slip by the hype 😆
Hiya TChahng!
Hows the temps in the land of the AM calm?
I think we should have a contest to get to 800… hmmm…anyone got anything that would make a cool prize???
Sorry for being late in rejoining the party. Lots of work today.
Haha! I had one of those. Loved it! I hand painted my white players in NYJ-E-T-S colors and the yellow players in Rams colors. Kept me entertained on Saturday afternoons when I was 9-10yrs old.
BTW, props for best low cost commercial for Sony HD TVs.
Hmmm. mebbe not… looks like everyone went moemoe!
Happy Birthday A-House!!
OK, helping Liz get thee post count to 800.
Liz – no game for me this week. Too much to do. Da whole weekend is about da kid, as usual. Fri nite – school dance, Sat – movie/shopping, Sun – Girl Scout rededication ceremony. Plus I gotta go buy her uniform and put all the required stuff on it by Sun morning! And her Fri night activities never seem to end late enough for me to catch a whole volleyball game. Oh well. I will go to go at least 1 game this year.
OK time for dishes, shower and go nene. Oyasumina-tsai. Hasta manana.
Back from a very long day & night learning about brownfields & remediation and the North Pacific Gyre full of plastic trash.
Happy Birthday, A-House – the Last of The Libras. As of midnight tonight we will officially be in the Land Of The Scorpions. Maybe we should bring another cake on Saturday for the Scorpio Natales since by the time we have another home game, we’ll be doing the Archer Thingee.
Good thing I’m not anywhere near a computer most of the time during the day or else I’d be taking part in contests.
Kekoa: Re your comments several hundred posts ago about my cell phone. Even a 27-month-old analog phone has texting capability, but I don’t know how to write a text message or send one. I get messages in from t-2-t from AT&T wanting to sell me things, but sometimes eight or ten weeks will go by before I look at them.
At some point this phone will die and then I’ll be forced to look at something digital, but, until that happens, all I need is something to make and receive phone calls. I’ve had a cellphone since December, 1989, and the mystique long ago wore off. Ditto e-mail programs and the Internet – we were using Compuserv starting in the late 80s and registered our first four domain names in 1994. After we closed down our multi-media production company (1992 -2006), I realized how much my life revolved around electronics. Nowadays I much prefer to interact directly with human beings than using gizmos & gadgets.
Back to sports: Interesting that the women’s and men’s basketball schedules and season ticket prices are posted, but not the cost of individual tickets. The men’s volleyball season is also out but no information about tickets at all even though their first home game is less than a month away.
Nitey-Nite – another busy day tomorrow. Have a major paper due for initial editing plus a doctor’s appointment – another suspicious skin lesion on my face, but this one may be more serious than the first two.
Aunty Liz, the temps stay cooling down a little. Almost like a cold day in Wahiawa. High of 77 and low of 50 degrees. Was drizzling today but should clear up tonight.
Sweet Dreams all – and will pray for W-Doc’s good health! BTW- did you see my post abojut the $14 GoPhone from WalMart? Just jump into the digital age!
TChahng- nice fall weather then! We are still roasting in the 80’s and peering through the vog.

A belated Birthday Greeting to my Commander-in-Chef…and now a happy civilian, Mr. A-House!
I am quite certain the the ladies in your household treated you with honor and respect today. Mahalo to you and your family for providing our merry band of Tsaiko’s the firm *Fun* foundation of the 5 F’s.
See you all at the T-gate…bring rain gear!
Doc ~ Don’t stress, it’s just a phone with a keyboard. Not much different than a laptop. Send & Receive…in english! Liz even found one at KMart for you for only $14 bucks!
Now look after yourself and get back into fighting shape so we can take away that Smurf Turf from BS!
Calling Big Hilo! Crank up the Lawyer talk so we can sink the hook into the Blue Rug and snatch it away from BS. They got away with this Bullshizer for too long now. Time to put a stop to them and take away their security blanket.
Boy I leave the blog the better part of the day, and it’s like Mardi Gras and Christmas all rolled into posters and ticket give aways!

COLT SIGHTING!
“My name is Colt Brennan. I’m a 6th round rookie QB, grew up in So Cal, played college ball in Hawaii, so I’d say I am a pretty laid back kind of guy. I wonder if they took that into consideration when they decided to issue lockers? Considering they saw fit to put me between Chris Cooley and Jason Taylor. At first you may think, “what an awesome experience,” I get to be between two pro bowlers, potential hall of famers, dancers. Every day. For the next 5 months. What dream right? More like what a nightmare.”

Great Morning All!
Impressive weight room numbers for Kiesel-Kauhane; 500# bench on the horizon -more than 2x his body weight 😯
Hope that someone can step up and replace Victor Clore in the wedge; it would be really nice to see Malcolm Lane take one (or more) to the house on Saturday.
It’ll also be good for Yoda to improve the PR #’s. (Will he get to use a light sabre?)
Have a great day erryboddy!
