Graunke will not be at start of camp

Quarterback Tyler Graunke will not be joining the team for this weekend’s start of training camp while he resolves a personal issue.
Graunke told The Advertiser he is hopeful his situation will be resolved soon, allowing him to participate in Monday’s first practice of training camp. The veterans report Sunday.
But in a news release, coach Greg McMackin said: “Tyler has things to work on. At this point, he will not practice with the team. Because of privacy laws, I can’t comment further.”
Graunke also said he did not want to comment further until his situation clarified.
Graunke and Inoke Funaki exited spring training as the co-No. 1 quarterbacks. Earlier this week, McMackin said Graunke, Funaki and junior-college transfers Greg Alexander and Brent Rausch were contenders for the starting job. McMackin said he expected to have a starter selected by the second week of training camp.

One of the nation’s top high school volleyball players is receiving interest from the Warrior football team.
At the end of last season, StudentSportsVolleyball.com named Myles Muagututia as the National Junior Player of the Year. Muagututia would like to play both football and volleyball in college. He has offers to be a two-sport athlete with the Warriors.
Muagututia is 6 feet 3, and has a 40-inch vertical jump. Word on the street is he draws comparisons to Allen Allen.
His brother, Garrett Muagututia, is a starting outside hitter for the UCLA volleyball team.

Linebacker Art Laurel and wideout/safety Earvin Sione will grayshirt, joining the UH football team in January.

From Doris Sullivan:
To calm the rumors about who was offered by UH, I have been asked by the boy’s parent to pass along this information.
Reeve Koehler, Kailua Intermediate School 8th grader, brother of Solomon Koehler from the University of Arizona, has been offered a football scholarship by Coach Greg McMackin at the University of Hawaii. Reeve stands at 6’2, 265 at 13 years old.
“I am very pleased Reeve has been given this type of consideration this early. We (are) grateful to have had the opportunity to have Reeve seen at the UH football clinics”
Reeve has never played organized football due to weight limits in the Pop Warner league. His football experience has thusfar been limited to the Brian Derby Clinics for 3 years, competed at the PIAA football combine and the University of Hawaii Clinics.

It was a great time at the fundraiser honoring athletic director Jim Donovan and football coach Greg McMackin last night. Thanks to coordinator Stretch, our blog bought a table.

Donovan sported a very short haircut. According to his wife, Donovan asked his barber to cut an inch, then he fell asleep. The barber thought he meant to leave an inch.

I guess Tracy “Kinda Shy” Donovan approves of her husband’s new look:

And here’s UH’s First Family:

I’m always the last to know. I only learned last night that former UH quarterback Michael Carter is the owner of Eastside Grill. Carter was one of the toughest Warriors. He played an entire season with a cracked rib, which was extremely daring considering UH ran a triple-option offense.

    if any tsaikos are looking for another option to get to the Seattle area, try Alaska Airlines. plane is similar to aloha, but has more seats. the flight time is about 5 1/2 hours and the brew (808????) is very good. they serve both alaska and kona made beers. our flight attendent home was nappy napoleon, one good braddah.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Whitey ~ Was that *THE* Nappy Napoleon? …I’m thinking mebbe he would be the son of the famous surfing icon?
    Anyway, what dates will you be up in Alaska? My son runs Caribou hunting and fishing parties up around White Mountain whenever he gets bored with his day job. I’m convinced that he may feel a heavy case of boredom setting in about the time he gets word of your arrival.
    kekoa…I meant to tell you this the other day as well, for your moopono who wants to get into lifeguarding. Tell him to go to Ala Moana Beach Park. Start at the lifeguard tower on the Magic Island side of the beach. Run the length of the beach to the Kewalo end. Then, jump in the water and swim back to the tower on the Magic Island side. That’s one of their tests. I forget the time limit on that. Also, go to Kaimana Beach, swim to the flag/sock in the water, and back non-stop.
    We did some of that training with the lifeguards when I was in EMS so long ago.
    Kekoa – do you know a G. Mayeda?
    Read that the some State workers are going to a 4-day work week. One of the cost saving benefit is electricity cost. But how does one save electricity if they still are going to work 40 hours per week?
    A friend mentioned that Neil Abercrombie can bench press 200 lbs + his age. Isn’t he around 70? That’s impressive for someone that age. In fact benching 200#’s is impressive! Sheesh, I can barely bench my weight and I weigh only 135#’s!
    Where’s gigi?
    Hi XLiz!
    Florida is about to open training camp like the Warriors. Their first week of practices are open to the public, so I wish I could easily swing by there to observe…
    The Gator football team begins two-a-days on Monday, giving football-hungry fans an early fix, with a week’s worth of practices open to the public.
    Gator freshmen will kick off drills with a practice at 6 a.m. Monday. Then the first five days of practice — Monday through Friday — are open to fans.
    Following next Friday’s session at the UF practice field (next to the O’Connell Center), the Gators are closing their practices to start concentrating on the Aug. 30 home opener against Hawaii.
    yeah, whitey, i waited all day for you in maui yesterday. in fact, i hung out at the airport for three hours.
    ok, ok, truth be told is that all the flts were pushed so far back and some were cancelled that kept me being put way back on the list. i was at the terminal from1530 to 1845.
    but, the word on maui was that you caught crabs. i walk in to tiffany’s and the girls look behind me and asked if nanook was with me cause he was 86’d until he got rid of his crabs.
    welcome home.
    The Idaho Statesman picked the top 18 players on offense in the WAC and the only UH player mentioned was John Estes. At least he was the highest-rated offensive lineman in the WAC…
    8. C John Estes, Hawaii
    There had to be room for some offensive linemen on the list. Estes started all 13 games for an offense that led the nation in scoring (43.4 points) and was third in total yardage (512.1 per game). With QB Colt Brennan and his top four receivers gone, it’s up to Estes – who is on the watch lists for the Rimington Trophy, Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award – and a veteran offensive line to usher in a new set of skill players.
  53. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:05 am
    Golf-wise she is doing fairly well considering the length and demands of the PGA courses. Decision-wise, well that is highly debatable. I’ll just wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
    I feel like I’m writing to myself…
  54. Garret August 1, 2008 10:05 am
  55. Garret August 1, 2008 10:06 am
    This analyst suggest fantasy sports players to *not* draft Lane. I do agree that there is a LOT of unknowns, especially with all the JC guys joining the team.
    Malcolm Lane, Jr., Hawaii: To many experienced Fantasy players and those knowledgeable to the ins and outs of college football, this may seem like a no brainer. Of course we should avoid Lane in Fantasy drafts. Hawaii’s former coach June Jones took his high-flying offense to SMU and record-breaking QB Colt Brennan will be playing on Sundays. Sure, new coach Greg McMackin expects to emphasize the passing game and QB Tyler Graunke is perceived as an acceptable replacement for Brennan, but there are far too many unknowns here. Someone who only pays minimal attention might see Lane’s name on boards and think, “Hawaii, eureka! They pass a lot.” But Lane put up just 270 yards and two touchdowns last year coming off the bench. He should be the man next year, but it isn’t like Hawaii’s cupboard is bare at the position. There are just far too many variables here.
  56. Kekoa August 1, 2008 10:09 am
    Homey ~ G. Mayeda sounds vaguely familiar. Prolly if I saw this person, the memory chip would trigger a dossier.
    4 day work-week only puts them even further behind the power curve.
    Pressing 200 lbs is what causes Neil Abercrombie to walk around with ‘no neck.’
    Homey, no lie!…I seen you pick up the tab at Camelia for 200.
    Looks like Bess is going to get his tryout for the punt returner spot with the Dolphins. A place on the active roster and playing time will hinge on a few practices and scrimmages. If Bess does well then he’ll get to return in the preseason games, which will be another big step in his making the active roster (I’m assuming that he’s at least made the team for the practice squad).
    Sparano said he wants to see a few players besides Ginn returning kicks in a game situation. He specifically mentioned Davone Bess, Jayson Foster, David Kircus and Patrick Cobbs.
    The Magic Valley Times-News has an article about the Warriors. One thing stood out in the article–either the reporter got a scoop (doubtful) or he made a big assumption before camp begins. He could be correct, but I think the starter will be determined in camp.
    Imagine finishing the regular season undefeated, winning the Western Athletic Conference crown, going to the Sugar Bowl and then getting picked to finish fourth in the WAC a year later.
    You can’t invent that type of bulletin board fodder.
    Tyler Graunke will be the starter this season at quarterback. He played in eight games last season, throwing for 1,234 yards, 10 touchdowns and six picks. He went 13-for-19 in the loss to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
    The defensive line should be a rotating door, with five defensive ends and five tackles splitting time.
    At linebacker, Solomon Elimimian is the preseason WAC defensive player of the year, while his roommate and best friend Adam Leonard placed second in the voting.
    “(Leaonard) had to be one of the best players in the league,” McMackin said, adding that the two are the best he may have ever coached. And he has coached Ray Lewis and Julian Petersen. “(Leonard) pass drops and has a feel for the passing game better than any I have seen. (Elimimian) can flat run, an excellent tackler. His tackles are for losses.”
    The two standouts combined to make 256 tackles last season (23 for loss). Leonard intercepted five passes. The two spent the summer at Leonard’s family home.
    “We just kind of gravitated toward each other,” Leonard said. “We are brothers in every sense of the word. I am happy for him and excited for him to get the accolades he deserves.”
    Both lead in different ways: Elimimian is more vocal, Leonard more of a joker.
  64. Garret August 1, 2008 10:17 am
    The USA Today poll has Fresno State at #25 and BSU at #34.
    Boise State received 25 points in the polling of Division 1-A coaches and comes in at No. 34. The Broncos are coming off a Hawaii Bowl loss to East Carolina, and failed to win the WAC championship for the first time in six years.
    The only other WAC team to make the top 25 is Fresno State. The Broncos host the Bulldogs on Nov. 28th.
  65. Kekoa August 1, 2008 10:19 am
    Pomai ~ I shudder to think of the Warriors not being able to score more than 28 points, but somehow that is the number that came up in the tea leaves. Here is my prediction:
    UH 28 and the Rajafritchin-Muthhumpin!@#&$^ Gecko’s a mere 24!
  66. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:20 am
    Homey…it’s because the A/C, lights, and equipment will be shut down completely for that three day period. The A/C will also be reduced at 4:30, regular quitting time even though their will be workers in the building until 6:00, and then shut off at 6:00. Shutting off the A/C and lights at 6:00 p.m Thursday and not turning them on again until Monday morning adds additional time that massive amounts of electricity are not being used. I remember seeing on the news the other night that Hamilton Library at UH will save thousands in electricity costs and reduce energy consumption simply be removing 2 of the 4 flourescent lightbulbs from every light bay.
  67. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:23 am
  68. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:34 am
    (J)J – Funny thing is they can do most of it now. Reduce AC at 3:15 p.m., turn off lights when room(s) not in use, remove excessive light tubes and bulbs, no using outlets for radios, cell phone charging, coffee makers, microwave ovens…Hahahaha, use stairs instead of elevators…
    Well we’ll see what they report after the experimental period. In the meantime I agree that there are too many light tubes/bulbs being used in State occupied buildings. I’ve been to your office and it is brighter than the sun in there! 😆
  69. Kekoa August 1, 2008 10:35 am
    USA Pollsters must be drowning in da kool-aid. Is there somewhere we can buy tickets to kick their A$$’s when UH makes it to the top 10 despite what these idiots think?
    On Saturday 8/2 between the hours of 7:30am – 4pm. Will be shutting down the A/C to repair one of the air handlers. The main areas of the building that may be effected are. 1. Newsroom on the South St. side next to Online, 2. Composing, 3. Imaging, 4. IT.
  72. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:37 am
    Kekoa – Next time use Banaba leaves. As a side benefit it can help those with diabetes and or liver problems.
  73. Stephen Tsai August 1, 2008 10:38 am
    Robbie runs the Eastside Grill, Michael Carter owns it.
    C’mon, they really need to have the Triple Option on the menu.
  74. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:39 am
    Homey..true…we’ve tried to get them to reduce the amount of bulbs in here….but the paperwork to do that is horrendous…LMAO.
    It is true that some of that can be done now to reduce energy use/cost. I mean, $185,000/month for an electric bill for Hamilton Library is a bit much. We need to tell Jason to stop using the computers there…..mwahahahaha
  75. Kekoa August 1, 2008 10:39 am
    Homey ~ Do they sell it at Tell-Ma’s?
  76. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:40 am
    ST – At least they gave you ample time to prepare. 😆
  77. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:45 am
    ST…thanks. I always thought Robbie owned the place when it was opened in 2003….ehhhh…
    There’s a place downtown that sells a gourmet plate lunch. One of their daily specials is called a Triple Combo usually consisting of a beef dish, seafood dish, and poultry dish….the other day they had garlic rib eye, blackened ahi, and furikake chicken…over pasta or rice…with vegetables….
    ST…you’re right. Eastside should sell a Triple Option – a menu item with beef, seafood, and poultry where you can choose a mix and match of three items and call it the Triple Option….
  78. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:45 am
    homey…what is a Banaba leaf???
  79. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:49 am
    Kekoa – I don’t know but Mililani get choke Banaba trees!
  80. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:50 am
    Hey ST…this article from the ‘Tizer in 2006 says that Robbie is the owner of Eastside Grill…things that make you go hmmmmmm……
    http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2006/Oct/19/bz/FP610190319.html
  81. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:52 am
    (J)J – I’m sure you googled it by now but if not then it is a leaf that you boil like a tea and it supposedly maintains your blood sugar levels and other added benefits are reduced appetite cravings and liver cleansing. Sorry, I’m not sure it’s an aphrodisiac.
  82. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:53 am
    Wie – 10 over after 17!!!
  83. Kekoa August 1, 2008 10:53 am
    OK Homey, I got a visual on the recording label guy. He’s trying to work a deal for the Tsaiko All Star Band to do a Concert Tour in the P.I. Talked about promoting my nephew *Kaipo* as a ‘breakout’ entertainer similiar to “Fiji.” I don’t think the band wants to travel beyond the boundaries of the Wessai Chaptah. They might get “homesick.”
  84. homey ® August 1, 2008 10:55 am
    (J)J – At least ST didn’t write that article. 😆
  85. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 10:57 am
    LOL..Yeah homey…I did google Banaba…got it. Kind of hard to tell from the pictures what the tree really looks like. I’ve probably seen it before but would have to be told which one it is to really know what it looks like.
  86. LizKauai [iMac] BELIEVER August 1, 2008 10:58 am
    Kekoa- have him go to the Jr. Lifeguards champs Saturday (tomorrow) at Ala Moana Beach Park, I think. He can talk story with the LG’s aftah and get an idea what it’s like. Be sure to ask him to cheer for da KAUAI team, eh???
    ok… back from the Dr. office… gonna eat (had bloodtest so missed b-fast) and go to work.
  87. homey ® August 1, 2008 11:02 am
    In Michelle’s case, while I think that perhaps Momma and Poppa could manage her financial affairs. perhaps Sony or whoever, should get someone to manage her professional career.
    I would hate to have a real estate person and a professor to dictate a career in golf as they apparently have no expertise in the matter.
  98. Garret August 1, 2008 11:23 am
    Doris confirmed who was the 8th grader that UH offered…it was exactly who people had speculated about. There is another thread on SportsHawaii that has a photo of Reeve from last year…he’s huge!
    To calm the rumors about who was offered by UH, I have been asked by the boys parent to pass along this information.
    Reeve Koehler, Kailua Intermediate School 8th grader, brother of Solomon Koehler (Castle ’08, University of Arizona) has been offered a football scholarship by Coach Greg McMackin at University of Hawaii. Reeve stands at 6’2, 265 at 13 years old.
    “I am very pleased Reeve has been given this type of consideration this early. We grateful to have had the opportunity to have Reeve seen at the UH football clinics”
    Reeve has never played organized football due to weight limits in the Pop Warner league. His football experience has thusfar been limited to the Brian Derby Clinics for 3 years, competed at the PIAA football combine and the University of Hawaii Clinics.
    His father Rick Koehler has asked that you repsect Reeves privacy
  99. Garret August 1, 2008 11:25 am
    Scout.com says that UH is the *first* school to offer a scholarship to 2010 QB recruit Andrew Manley. Great job with the early offers Coach Mack! Everyone who follows Hawaii high school football knows who Manley is, and getting the first offer to him gives UH an advantage.
  100. Merv August 1, 2008 11:25 am
    Rage777,
    I did see that UGA is ranked #1 which really surprised me. All summer I have heard about how Florida was the best team in the country. I really want y’all to knock em off on Aug 30th and for Georgia to finish them on Nov 1st.
    I will hate it to miss the game in Gainesville but my first loyalties are in the Peach State. We will inaugarate Uga VII (lucky # 7) and will take the field as the preseason # 1 for the first time in our history, and my cousin is also getting married that day.
    So I will go tailgate in Athens, watch the game and come back for the party if I don’t make it to the wedding in Augusta. Aug 30 will be a big day indeed.
  101. homey ® August 1, 2008 11:26 am
  113. MeiLing August 1, 2008 11:48 am
    (J)J ~ We started reducing the number of lamps in the overhead lights at NAU (state univ.) in the mid-90’s. Now they shutdown the university during the winter vacation, except for essential services (like the computer center), to reduce electrical, heating, water usage. All 3 universities have this “shutdown” in order to reduce energy costs. As homey said a lot of the reductions in usage can happen now. Hawai’i is a bit behind, like with the rail service.
    Let’s hope that you just had a typical Waimea Mosquito bite on your arm.
    Kimana almost fainted when I told him he had to swim damn near around the island! I said, “what if you have to chase down the shark that dragged the body away?” He said, “wat, no moah jet ski?” Oh dat boi!
  117. Kazz August 1, 2008 11:57 am
    Good food and fun at the fundraiser last night!
    Think I’m gonna steal Sansei’s idea of putting spicy ahi poke in a shrimp chip for pupus. Too bad that was the only thing I could identify last night even thought everything was good.
    BTW, I passed by the Waterhouse weight room on my way out and from the outside, things don’t look too bad. Some of the cushioned seats on the machines NEED some new padding but for the most part it looked nice.
    Homey ~ My wife has some funny stories about teaching Ben Apuna how to play guitar and learning to sing Hawaiian songs. He really did want to learn, but had no prior experience.
    He paid the price for his learning experience. The *Slippah* was administered on several occasions during his post NFL season vacation time away from the NY Giants. Even our dog felt sorry for him and would bark loudly at Diana while she inflicted bodily harm on him for being hard-head. (…and you call yourself one linebakka!)
    I know that there are many Dish subscribers here (99 club, Liz, etc.). I just thought I should post a note that Dish added 17 HD channels today including CBS College Sports (used to be CSTV). This should be great for the upcoming college football season! To balance out the HD sports channel, they added Lifetime HD and Lifetime Movies HD.
    I know that DirecTV already had CBS College Sports in HD, so only the cable guys might not have it now.
    Yups, what is the scoops on Muagututia??? What school he go to? Where he from? What’s the 411 on weight, etc… Love what Coach Mack and Tuioti is doing on the recruiting front. Had a feeling that T. J. Afolipo was going commit to us after reading on another blog that he was interested in UH. Glad that Tony Tuioti sealed the deal, just make sure the LOI is signed though…
    merv, i guess 8/30/08 is a lot better than 11/1/08, huh. hopefully when you guyz play them in november, we’ll have already given them a loss. if not a loss, then at least i hope we would’ve given tebow a beating.
    i’m not sure what it is, but i can’t stand urban. don’t get me wrong, i hated richt after da SB, but after 7 months the hatred is gone. urban has done nothing to us, yet i still hate him. hope you guyz give him beatings again. btw, what you think bout your guyz schedule, perhaps the only thing keeping a lot of pundits from ranking you at #1. IIRC, LSU and UF back 2 back, both not at home. also, asu, usc, etc. anyway y;all manage to go thru that w/ only 1 loss. i think 1 loss gets you to the championship game.
  137. Garret August 1, 2008 12:43 pm
    Pauoa Boy,
    The anniversary was great, thank you for the congrats!
    I forgot that it was the HOF game, so there are definitely more things going on in that game than a normal preseason game. There should be some interviews during the game also.
    Too bad for me I’ll be unable to watch the game since I’ll be on my trip!
    You know what impresses me the most about Reeves and the great job his parents did with him? Apparently he has *really* taken care of business in the classroom and can get a qualifying SAT score now! This is from an old post by Doris:
    I kid you not, Reeve is 6’2 now. Honest to goodness. He did awesome this past week. Coaches kept saying “he’s REALLY only in 8th grade??” He sat in on an SAT prep class one weekend because Sol had to “watch” him while his parents were out so he took the class as well, paid attention and then at the end took the test. He got a higher score than many 11th graders I know!!!
  156. Pauoa Boy August 1, 2008 1:19 pm
    K nevermind, I got some info from my friend who told me that Myles is very well known in the San Diego area as he is definitely one of the top VB setters in the state…National Junior Player of the Year!
    Athletic Family Pedigree: Brother plays Vball at UCLA, mom played Vball at UC Riverside, Dad multi sport athlete in high school and former NAVY Seal…
    Myles Muagututia
    6’2 195lbs. WR/LB probably play WR at college level or maybe can convert to Safety with his athleticism
    40in vert, some pics shows how high he gets, he got hops…
    3.8 GPA
    Puts football as a priority over volleyball when he attends college…
    Hope Hawai’i can get him for either sport as he has also shown much interest in Stanford University…
    Pomai – 😆 My drummer has rhythm. Everyone else’s drummer is uncoordinated.
    Princess Leila – Did you have lunch with your mom today? HI FAYE!
  158. Garret August 1, 2008 1:22 pm
    I’ll stop talking about Reeves now…but if you scroll down on the link in my previous post, you can see a photo of him that was taken last year.
  159. jm2375 August 1, 2008 1:22 pm
    Ok, what happened? 😳 I wen hit refresh at least 3 times and da last post was FT’s (#111). So I post and bam! here comes the flood.
    So, da 8th grader gonna play for Kailua in ’09? or will some ILH school scoop him up? How’s his academics? If he went private school, he could be playing intermediate football this year.
  162. Pauoa Boy August 1, 2008 1:31 pm
    Midori7, yeah I tweaked my back running sprints this weekend trying to get back into football shape with the season rolling around. I have something wrong with my disks being out of place, so I have to take Vicadin for the pain and I have to go see a chiropractor soon. I guess I’m not the athletic stud I used to be anymore and should slow down some but I can’t help but pull a Brett Favre cause I know I still got it haha… I think I pushed it too hard during my timed 40yd sprint in which I did in 4.67 seconds so I’m happy with that…but I may be out for the season if it’s deemed I need surgery or something…
    Wouldn’t it be CLASSIC if Colt takes the field for his first play and right before heading into the huddle to give out the play, he lifts his helmet and throws up!!!
    Hey Colt throws touchdowns after he hurls!! It would be fun for us to see!
  178. homey ® August 1, 2008 1:54 pm
    Just an observation…
    When looking at the pictures of the ‘Tizer female bloggers it appears that the more…mature women have bangs while the others have longer hairstyles. Then as women mature more they start to have those short style perms. It that the hair stages women go through?
    Back to football…
    Is it almost time for James to start planning on where to watch the Florida game?
  179. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 1:55 pm
    So Is Robby Acoba still part owner of Eastside Grill, or is Michael Carter the sole owner?
    Thanks for the report.
  184. homey ® August 1, 2008 2:03 pm
    (J)J – Did you have to have your baby toe removed by the medical staff or did it just fall off? Lucky for us she is probably busy getting ready for her trip and won’t read this blog topic.
  185. (Jesse) James August 1, 2008 2:12 pm
    homey…actually, bruising is on my arm…..KK’s foot was the one that was broken…MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
  186. Rob25 August 1, 2008 2:15 pm
    homey – I don’t know how to use block quotes…send me an email explaining how and I will….sorry, computer genius. And why you looking at pics of Tsaikettes? You stalking us? More mature women don’t need to get the bangs out of their eyes because they already got a man…then they can’t see as well so they need to get any hair out of the way. Men have long hair when they are young to attract the women and then lose it all because they are “stalking” any female in the area.
    Hi Liz…thanks didn’t really read them all…just sort of skimmed. That’s too funny! I was always hopeful that Colt would throw up because I thought it would be like a good luck charm.
    KAZZ – I think that he should have thrown up for the Sugar Bowl…that would have calmed the whole team.
  187. homey ® August 1, 2008 2:16 pm
    Bigwave – According to DCCA Roberto J. Acoba is a member of EG’ Livin LLC. Don’t know what that means but that’s what it states. Other members are M. Carter and Maelia L. Carter.
    Pauoa boy and Midori,
    Im a long time skins fan – family still has season tickets after 30 years. I used to go to all the games, loved Theisman, Darryl Green, Neal Olkewicz (retired after 13 years, told me he got bored and became a postman, 2 daughters in college now. Always wanted to be in the Secret Service but was too old by the time he left football), and Monte Coleman (who now coaches at a D1AA and is trying to recruit Hawaii), Art Monk (got lots of pics of him with my boys from his football camps when they were little)…all sorts of good players back in the early 80s!
    This reminds me of my “Bus Stop” soliloquay. I think we could round up 150 bloggers to tell us something different they learned about homey over the year(s). But how many of you could actually locate him if needed? What is his real name?
    OK, OK — secrets and all that… but one of the things that make The Warrior Beat special is that many of the bloggers have met…and once you’ve met, the blog opens even more. I encourage all readers to attend Cattle Calls, Karaoke Calls, Tsaiko-gates, Blog Parties, etc. when they have the opportunity…
    • August 9 California Bay Area Cattle Call in San Bruno
    • August 16 Karaoke Call in Honolulu
    • (more pending)
    • Orlando Cattle Call August 29 (RSVP A-House)
    • UH-Florida TV-Gate August 30 (TBA)
    Ya gotta admit… well, read for yourself…
    “Never gonna miss the cut
    It started when I read at Hog Heaven that Tony Brown was mentioning former University of Hawaii record setting and now rookie Redskins sixth round pick quarterback Colt Brennan mainly because more hits were coming from searching Colt’s name than any other Redskins keyword.
    I chastised him for mentioning Colt Brennan for no reason and then Will at Hogs Haven upbraided me for making obvious Colt Brennan references. Then Tombo Ahi at the UH Football blog picked up my Colt Brennan story, proving that Coltrolling works.
    Next ExtremeSkins commenter rd421 wondered why every time he clicks through for video of Colt Brennan it is video of Jason Campbell. Forty-four minutes later ExtremeSkins commenter modazfuk spuriously accused all us of steering traffic Colt Brennan.
    Less than an hour ago Mark Newgent at DC Redskins Examiner is the latest to try and hump Colt Brennan’s football leg.”
But unfortunately (or fortunately–depending on perspective) I do not know your name, what you look like, or how to contact you. If the blog disappeared today, we might not “see” each other again.
    But I think some Tsai-kos I know have met and know you so I am not too concerned about future contact. But send me an email so I can add you to my emergency list…. and how about the Karaoke Call on the 16th? 🙂
    Rob25 ~ A certain person in LoCal with the initials ‘RT’ wanted us to invite you to the Pau Hana EIS at “The New Violets Grill.” on Dillingham Blvd. (Google for direction).
    If that is a possibility, then you and your hubby may join us there at 1800 hrs. tonite. The usual Tsaiko suspects will be there, along with two speshul guests. One from the state of Washington. His handle is ‘Wafan’…and the other is from the Big Island but I understand he has already been thru the quarantine process since he’s been here a few days. Actually neither of them pose a Bio-hazard threat.
  253. Maverick August 1, 2008 4:03 pm
    What the HECK is going on ?
    Without Tyler helping run the show, were now down one less V.I.P. on on the roster.
    This has me really worried about Graunke’s off the field life.
    Ronnie – I’ve been rethinking staying in Fresno…as long as I can stay somewhere nice…I’m okay with it. I think that the team will high tail it out of Fresno after the game though and then we won’t be able to chase a certain player…
    # Da Punchbowl Kid:
    And it’s not such a bold prediction; a stronger than expected UH defense gives the fledgling UH offense a chance to win the game. That’s my prediction and I’m sticking to it.
    I’m with you on that one. I don’t think it will take too long for offense to hit its stride, but in the meantime, Defense will keep us in the game, Kelly will win’em.
    About Tyler, sounds like it could be a family crisis — I’m not ready to jump on him with assumptions that he did something wrong. Hopefully it IS something that can be resolved quickly and he can rejoin the team with little harm done, if any.
  277. Stephen Tsai August 1, 2008 5:03 pm
    Congrats to the Koehler family. My husband used to work with the father.
    As much as I want to feel for Tyler (I’m sure he is a good guy), this tells me that he just may not be right for a leadership role on our team. Opportunities sometimes come once in a lifetime and you can’t take them for granted.
    With that said, I still wish him the best and hope he can get things together in life as a whole. Football is just one piece of the puzzle.
  305. longboarder August 1, 2008 5:57 pm
    Tyler Graunke you are an idiot.
    Straight up. You had the chance to lead the defending WAC champions into a whole new era. You got people on your jock on this very site saying “you should be the man” and “In Tyler We Trust.” You had fans of all ages “BELIEVING” in you. You are a waste of a good uniform and spot on this team. There are others out there that have busted their tail just to get invited to camp. You had a chance to redeem yourself but you still have not got your act together.
    and who knows, your lack of responsibility may cost UH a scholarship.
    Put this in your locker (if you still even have one) or your own bulletin board.
    Prove me wrong.
    You’re an idiot. The ball you dropped is bigger than than the one that Walter Murray did years ago. Plain and simple.
    feel free to flame me….
  306. UHfan808 August 1, 2008 6:01 pm
  308. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 6:42 pm
    KGMB’s Liz Chun reported that it IS an academic issue which is keeping Tyler out for now. 👿
  309. Kaimiloa August 1, 2008 6:43 pm
    Its time to move on from Graunke. This is the third time he’s been disciplined. As a QB you have to be a leader. Either the guy is lazy or not too bright. I’ve noticed comments from other players about him are very measured. They don’t say too many good things about him. Kind of strange for a guy who was the incumbent to lead the team. We should roll with Inoke. He’s a leader by example. The JC guys still need to learn the system. Inoke has the heart to battle Florida.
  310. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 6:43 pm
    Yes homey, I have watched TWO newscasts again.
  311. FloridaTed August 1, 2008 6:45 pm
    Wow, I just came back to the blog and Blaamm, right between the eyes. I would really like to know what is going on with Tyler. Something seems to have really pissed off Coach Mack. But whatever it is, it’d rapidly reaching the distraction point and needs to be delt with before camp starts.
    The needs of the many outway the needs of the one, Mr.Spock.
  312. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 6:48 pm
    Kaimiloa,
    Wanna see a Warrior stand and deliver? Watch Inoke in the swamp… On the bright side, this will give one of our other very talented QBs on the depth chart more opportunity.
    Tyler,
    I’m with Longboarder. Prove us wrong.
  313. curveball August 1, 2008 6:51 pm
    Why does this come up 2 days before camp?????
  314. lava1 August 1, 2008 6:56 pm
    All is fine, all is fine, so relax.
    Tyler has a little hiccup. Tyler knows how to cure hiccups. Expect to see him back very soon, and welcomed back by everyone.
    To Coach Mack’s credit, the obvious is this: if hiccups are not cured they can be too distracting for a team to tolerate. He made his point long ago. Tyler gets it. Tyler got it months ago. All will be fine shortly.
    No worries.
  315. 702WarriorNation August 1, 2008 6:57 pm
    exit8/288 stacyj/289 longboarder/305
    IMHO Sorry but can’t agree with your comments….. what happend to ‘ohana’ ?
    Has it come to this – cut bait, move on, name calling?
    ST’s quote
    It’s a sad time for Graunke. I hope he clears things up.
    personal issues sometimes are not easy to fix it that’s the case. Am glad majority of Tsai-kos still support Tyler as we all should since it’s a private issue per coach Mack. Hope he takes the time to fix his personal problem.
  316. FloridaTed August 1, 2008 7:00 pm
    It was academics before and apparently it’s again. Nothing irks Coach Mack more than not taking care of your schoolwork. If that’s the case, Tyler has nobody to blame but himself, Coach gave him a clear cut chore to fulfill. This puts Tylers entire leadership ability into serious questions. Two days before camp starts creating drama is not cool, no matter how you look at it.
    Well, my hunch before spring was Alexander starting, but I’m sure Funaki will also play in the swamp.
  317. pearlcityfan August 1, 2008 7:05 pm
    What’s the latest on all the players that were on pro rosters?
    Besides Brennan, will any of them be on the opening day rosters?
  318. FloridaTed August 1, 2008 7:07 pm
    A-House,
    Sorry, just now saw your post(130). I will most definately be in Orlando, 7-29-08, barring an unmitigated disaster. I’ll also will e-mail you to confirm.
  319. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 7:13 pm
    702WarriorNation,
    I personally haven’t given up on Tyler. Like most others I want to see him at the Swamp. You to admit though, the timing of all of this can’t be worse. I am also reacting to the KGMB report which clearly showed concern for Tyler’s future as a Warrior. I’m not sure what they meant by those inferences, I just hope Lava1 above is right.
  320. 15 August 1, 2008 7:19 pm
    To post 315
    How can you say “ohana” when Tyler Graunke decided he did not want to be a part of the “ohana?” He made a choice not to do what was needed to be done. He was given chance after chance. He saw how Colt turned his life around. He knew that his chance would come. Our boys have the biggest game of the year in less than a month. As it stands right now Tyler isn’t even going to be in the state of Florida during that game. I want to be able to support those kids who are going to be on the practice and playing field.
    Sometimes you just gotta cut a man loose.
  321. LMNT August 1, 2008 7:24 pm
    Michelle Wie=Tyler Graunke
  322. Kelli August 1, 2008 7:26 pm
    I hope he resolves whatever it is that’s keeping him from practicing.
    In other news… When asked who the UH football coach is, the 5-year-old UH fan in this house replied, “Colt Brennan.” So, is the school I attend named after CB and is he football coach, too? 🙂 Gotta love kids!
  323. Garret August 1, 2008 8:05 pm
    This is a very sad development. I fully support Mack in doing what he has to do for the team, and have a hard time believing that Tyler could wait this long for his chance and let it potentially slip through his fingers!
    If he misses camp, even just a week or two, then he’s blown his chance to start in Florida and possibly much, much longer. Even worse, this will be a distraction that the team does NOT need now as they get ready for camp and ramp up for Florida.
    It is good that UH has two JC QBs in addition to Inoke as QB options, since they need to have 2 game-ready QBs to start the season. Injuries happen all the time at the QB spot, so the backup QB position must be a strength also.
    I hope that Tyler does whatever is needed to be able to rejoin the team. However, I was hoping for Inoke to start (excellent leadership, impressive year-to-year improvement, running ability adds a weapon to the offense) even before this so I hope that Inoke is ready to shine this season. And if someone else beat Inoke out, that will just mean that UH has an amazing QB and a solid backup.
  324. Garret August 1, 2008 8:07 pm
    Report from Miami’s practice today.
    The most exciting part was when the players practiced their pre-game chants, a sort of a Ha-ka war dance that the Hawaiian players do before their games when they were in college.
    Lots of special teams drills with Davone Bess, Patrick Cobbs and Anthony Armstrong returning punts.
  325. Curt August 1, 2008 8:09 pm
    C’mon Tyler–get it together brah.
  326. Garret August 1, 2008 8:14 pm
    Photo 5 has Bess leaping to make a catch.
    Photo 31 has Bess really having to stretch to make a catch
    Photo 36 has Samson during a blocking drill
    Those were the main photos with Warriors in them. I think some of the other 70 photos had Warriors in the background, but those 3 were the best photos of the Warriors in Miami.
  327. Garret August 1, 2008 8:20 pm
    Notes from another Miami paper.
    Bess to return kicks in tomorrow’s scrimmage:
    Sparano said he wants to see a few players besides Ginn returning kicks in a game situation. He specifically mentioned Davone Bess, Jayson Foster, David Kircus and Patrick Cobbs.
    JUGGS machine was used for punt return practice (which included Bess)
    They brought out the juggs machine for the first time this camp for punt drills.
    Reagan caught a pass.
    A check-down throw to Reagan Mauia.
  328. Garret August 1, 2008 8:23 pm
    Reggie Bush lost his request for arbitration, so it looks like the testimony in his case will be public and the NCAA will get a copy.
    A San Diego judge Friday denied a motion brought by attorneys for former USC star Reggie Bush to settle a lawsuit against him through confidential arbitration.
    The decision by Superior Court Judge Joan Lewis means the suit, brought against the New Orleans Saints’ running back by would-be marketer Lloyd Lake in connection with a failed business deal, now moves closer to trial.
    Lewis’ ruling is good news for NCAA investigators hoping to gain access to potential evidence in the case. They want to know if Bush or USC broke college rules.
    Lake has alleged that Bush’s family accepted free rent and that Bush enjoyed other prohibited extra benefits from start-up marketers while the Heisman Trophy winner was still playing for USC.
  329. Garret August 1, 2008 8:25 pm
    The testimony from the businessman that Bush paid $200k to settle their dispute could be interesting…and very damaging to Reggie Bush and USC.
    Michaels currently ranks as the most interesting figure in the Reggie Bush controversy, allegations that the New Orleans Saints running back and his family received cash and gifts from Michaels and another would-be sports marketer while Bush was playing for USC.
    A tall man with curly hair, Michaels is important because unlike his former business partner, Lloyd Lake, who is suing Bush, he has remained relatively quiet on the matter. Unlike Lake, he has neither written a book nor met with NCAA investigators.
    While Lake has spoken out about the allegations, Michaels represents a potentially more damning figure for several reasons.
    Lake is a convicted felon with documented gang attachments. Michaels is a businessman who had resources to pour into the venture.
    Lake is suing to recoup approximately $300,000 he claims to have spent on New Era. Michaels has no material motive to pressure Bush — he has already settled out of court with the running back for about $200,000.
    As a credible witness, Michaels could be especially valuable to an ongoing NCAA investigation into whether Bush received extra benefits while at USC.
    NCAA investigators, who lack subpoena power to compel Michaels to cooperate, have expressed interest in any testimony from depositions or the courtroom.
    On Friday, Bush’s attorneys hoped to persuade Superior Court Judge Joan Lewis to assign the case to confidential arbitration, keeping such testimony out of the public eye. Their argument centered on a legal technicality in Michaels’ settlement with Bush.
    Lake’s attorneys countered by summoning Michaels into court to testify about the agreement.
    Bush’s parents lived in a San Diego-area house owned by Michaels without paying rent. The settlement suggests they never even saw a lease for the property until after they had moved out and begun legal negotiations with Michaels.
    Lake has claimed there was no lease until Bush and USC officials grew worried about an NCAA probe. But he can offer little proof of USC’s knowledge.
  330. 702WarriorNation August 1, 2008 8:26 pm
    Am I disappoint in Tyler, YES!
    TG is a young man who is still learning life unlike Colt who was able to make the necessary changes and turned around his life after given several opportunities. Similar to DPK’s sentiments, I haven’t given up on Tyler. Whenever someone mentions personal/private matters, details made public normally is just shibai. Is it really academics as reported or is there more to this? In time we may know more or less but I still support Tyler whether he remains with the team in the short or long term. This tragedy hopefully doesn’t impact the team’s performance negatively but they are able to turn it around into a positive performance in the swamp with whomever Coach Mack selects as the starting QB.
    Loss of JJ = GM…..TG = ??
    JMHO – some expressed and some not.
    Go Warriors!……. LV paper today showed spread now at 30.
    thick and thin,
    we are with you tyler!
    go warriors!
    Miami Herald’s photo gallery in now online.
    Samson is shown on photo #41
    Reagan is shown on photo #46. Unfortunately, the photo is of Grigsby (Reagan’s competition at FB) knocking Reagan backwards in a drill.
    Bess is shown stretching to make a catch on photo #48
    Bess is shown catching a long pass in photo #58. Nice close-up of his concentration on the ball.
    Samson is shown stretching in photo #63. The caption doesn’t mention him (they only name Jake Long who is next to Samson) but you can clearly see that is Samson in the photo.
    Cablevision is going to launch a huge regional WiFi system–their customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut who subscribe to cable modem access will have FREE WiFi access in the 3 states! It would be awesome if all cable companies did a similar deal of free WiFi with free roaming for their cable modem customers. I’d be happy if at least Oceanic on Oahu and Time Warner in San Diego offered the free WiFi…
    An online company is selling fake sick notes from “doctors” for $38 for Australians who enjoy “chucking a sickie”…estimates are that sick day fraud costs Australian businesses $10 bil a year in lost productivity. The company also sells sick notes in Europe, the US, and Canada. They even have notes for sale for people to cancel gym contracts due to pregnancy or illness.
    702,
    If you look at what I posted, I said… (sorry, don’t know how to do the fancy block quote stuff)
    “As much as I want to feel for Tyler (I’m sure he is a good guy), this tells me that he just may not be right for a leadership role on our team. Opportunities sometimes come once in a lifetime and you can’t take them for granted.
    Then I said…
    “With that said, I still wish him the best and hope he can get things together in life as a whole. Football is just one piece of the puzzle.
    Focus needs to be on the task at hand. There are many committed players who have busted behind this summer. Let’s go Warriors…focus on the season. Support each other and get the job done!”
    In no way did I write him off or disown him. I think I was actually encouraging him to get things together. What ever is happening in this young man’s life must be pretty big to be impacting his ability to play football. Again, I WISH HIM THE BEST AND HOPE HE CAN GET THINGS TOGETHER IN ALL ASPECTS OF HIS LIFE. FOOTBALL IS JUST ONE PIECE OF THE PUZZLE.
    Hey all, been a while. Terrible news about Graunke.
    I happen to be a Graunke supporter — he did some amazing things for the Warriors last year when the team needed him most.
    Just wanted to offer a possibly less-explored angle to this. IIRC, and please correct me if I’m wrong, there was at least a hint that Graunke might have had academic or some disciplinary issues for a while, but that JJ didn’t necessarily take any real serious action about it. I’m pretty sure JJ did value education, but I’m absolutely sure McMackin is dead serious about it, and he’s turned the 100% graduation goal into a mantra.
    Not to say that Graunke doesn’t have any responsibility, but I wonder how things might have been if someone like McMackin had been overseeing Graunke from the beginning? Maybe things would’ve been worked out sooner, instead of Graunke having to play catch up with whatever issues he’s had piled up ever since the end of the season?
  346. Koauka August 1, 2008 10:35 pm
    Funaki deserves a chance to start. Does everything the coaches want their players to do. Like go to class and work hard on the field.
    Reward the players who do the right things and work.
  347. stacyj August 1, 2008 10:42 pm
    BTW, Hi everyone! Didn’t mean to bust the door down when I came in. I just wanted to clarify some stuff and forgot the manners.
    Hi BF and Koauka!
  348. BowsForever August 1, 2008 10:48 pm
    Don’t get me wrong Koauka, I’m glad we’ve got Inoke as a capable starter candidate. I haven’t seen him throw yet, but where Graunke is more of a scrappy QB from what I’ve seen of him play, Inoke is tough as nails. Gotta love how he can run over people.
  349. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 10:50 pm
    It’ll be fun to watch Colt on Sunday. The Hall of Fame Game no less… A portend? 😉
  350. BowsForever August 1, 2008 10:53 pm
    I hear he’ll get some reps in the second half. I definitely can’t miss that.
  351. Da Punchbowl Kid August 1, 2008 11:03 pm
    I’d like to see the ‘Fins in preseason.
  352. Stephen Tsai August 1, 2008 11:30 pm
    Can’t get into specifics, of course, but there were certain things Gaunke needed to do that he hasn’t yet done.
  353. stacyj August 1, 2008 11:32 pm
    Oh ST, you’re good. Give just a little without telling much. I like that!
    And, looking forward to Sundays this year. Should be exciting to see so many players with Hawaii ties playing for pay.
    Hey stacyj!
  357. Koauka August 1, 2008 11:37 pm
    Yep ST, that was mentioned during the JJ regime too. Get the job done.
    For Sumotori Bruddah Las Vegas
    Flashback to this week in 1973. A very young Ric “Nature Boy” Flair makes his wrestling debut and is defeated by tough veteran Hard Boiled Haggerty. In other matches that night, Verne Gagne retains his world championship belt by defeating Superstar Billy Graham; Nick Bockwinkle and Ray Stevens successfully defend their world tag team championship title by beating Billy Robinson and Ken Patera; Sammy Steamboat and Neff Maiava become the new Hawaiian tag team champions by defeating reigning champs Ed Francis and Ripper Collins. Ticket prices:$3, $4 and $5…Wow!
    LTFan, 1973, that was the year I was born. How do you remember that far back?
  361. Koauka August 1, 2008 11:53 pm
    Long Time:
    Did you know, Ripper Collins was a security guard at Tower Records (on Keeaumoku St.) The real life Ripper is a real nice guy. If he wasn’t busy, I would talk story with him. Didn’t want to talk about wrestling though. Very cordial.
    And, like me, if you saw him in the store, don’t every think of taking something.
  362. Koauka August 1, 2008 11:56 pm
    Where is the young Moanalua alum, Jason. Must be having a good time.
    Is he meeting ladies from all over America, I hope.
  363. Long Time UH Fan August 2, 2008 12:06 am
    Stacyj,
    Mainly it’s because I’m twice your age 🙂 Nah, it’s an excerpt from a weekly newspaper on the windward side. My memory really has been failing me lately; you may recall a couple of months ago that I couldn’t remember the lyrics to Farrington’s touchdown song, “Cheerio”. 😉
  364. Long Time UH Fan August 2, 2008 12:08 am
    Koauka,
    I used to think that wrestling at the old Civic was for real…until I saw Curtis the Bull Iaukea, Fujiwara, Ripper and Johnny Barend hanging out together in Waikiki.
    Loss of JJ = GM…..TG = ??
    Very good point!!!!!
  366. stacyj August 2, 2008 12:10 am
    No worries LT, I can’t even remember what I did a couple days ago.
    For me, I think I will remember “Cheerio” till the day I die. I started going to FHS games when I was a baby. Mom taught many-a-former Governor football players and we grew up going every Wednesday (jv games) and Friday/Saturday (vars). You name it, we went…Waianae, Kahuku, Kaiser, Leilehua, etc. And we always sat near the band and the Mahu cheering section.
  367. stacyj August 2, 2008 12:13 am
    Not only is the memory failing but the ability to function with a couple hours of sleep is over. I gotta go zzzzzzz. I’ll be a lurking tomorrow. Read you then 🙂
  368. Pomai August 2, 2008 12:18 am
    Now I am not dissing Tyler but I’m with floridated, I have a feeling that Alexander is going to be starting for us. He has been here all summer, has had the playbook for awhile now, also Ron Lee said that he was going to simplify the offense some, so maybe it won’t take a few years to learn it.
    Actually I like the fact that the geko’s won’t be able to run our offense with their scout team, so they won’t know whats coming. I wouldn’t even mind if Mac closed the practices until after the geko’s game, the less they know the better of we will be.
  369. Long Time UH Fan August 2, 2008 12:20 am
    Stacyj,
    Problem back in my days we hardly scored touchdowns and won only a handful of games over the three years I was at FHS…So to hear Cheerio was like a big relief to us guys. My bunch was diehard fans, win or lose we showed up at the old termite palace…
    Just like my bunch that I used to tailgate with at the UH games. Win or lose we showed up…worse feeling was watching the last game of VonAppens era knowing that we were going to lose to Michigan…
  370. Pomai August 2, 2008 12:23 am
    Hey I just had a brain fut, Mac maybe you should try practice in Klum gym wit all do doors and windows shut to stimulate da swamp!!!!!!!!!!
  371. Long Time UH Fan August 2, 2008 12:28 am
    And this one is for fellow FHS alumus..D1Shima,
    Subject: FW: The Hypnotist
    It was entertainment night at the Senior Center. Claude the hypnotist
    exclaimed: ‘I’m here to put you into a trance. I intend to hypnotize
    each and every member of the audience”.
    The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful
    antique pocket watch from his coat.
    “I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It’s a very
    special watch. It’s been in my family for six generations.”
    He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly
    chanting, “Watch the watch, watch the watch, and watch the watch…”
    The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed
    the swaying watch, until, suddenly, it slipped from the hypnotist’s
    fingers and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces.
    “Sh*t!” said the Hypnotist.
    It took three days to clean up the Senior Center.
    Have a good night!
  372. S Malai August 2, 2008 12:59 am
    Coach Mack has told the team from the beginning: “Don’t embarrass the program.” Guarantee he’s had enough of Graunke’s dramas. Definitely not the kind of story a head coach wants out there days before fall camp starts.
    I say they give Graunke’s schollie to one of the other non-scholarship players- guys that actually work multiple jobs and take out student loans to pay their tuition. At least one of those guys would appreciate it and handle their responsibilities, which is more than can be said for Graunke.
