Carney leaving (Rainbow) Warriors

The job posting on UH site (thanks for the heads up on earlier thread) is for Sean Carney. He said he will miss being with the team but he wants to fully concentrate on his Elite Academy sports training, something he founded a few years ago and couldn’t devote as much time as he wanted to while coaching. He said he loved working with the players and hoped he could do that again some day when he was more financially secure. Think it is a big loss. He’s been key for the team landing some of the local recruits lately.

Darn it! This is a big loss, I thought he was a good young coach with potential to be a head coach someday.
I wish him the best of luck with his training business.

Any idea when a new coach will be named? I don’t recall who else was in the running when he got hired? was it Jake Muise or Brian Beckwith? I think Beckwith would be great.

Had a feeling Carney was the one who was leaving. That’s too bad. Best of luck to Sean.

Yes, Beckwith would be a great choice but is he interested in the position?

Since setting has been one of our weakest positions, Beckwith would be a great addition. He was so good in the Alumni game in that he really showed the difference between what average setting and great setting will do for your team.

He really didn’t want to be a Rainbow might be the real reason he is leaving.

Kaia Parnaby kinda looks like Kari Ambrozich…

LC, i gave you the real reason.
Beckwith is coaching varsity at St. Louis, believe he’s also teaching.
Muise has settled in on the Big Island, assistant coach at Kamehameha-Hawaii
UH job doesn’t pay much, not when you look at how many hours an assistant puts in.

Cindy it was a snide remark about the Rainbow controversy. 😉

I guess Beckwith is a longshot then.
