State boys volleyball

Some really high-quality play during the tournament, particularly Saturday’s final between Punahou and Kamehameha. very impressed by the defense of both teams.

Couple of college coaches in town to scout. Ferguson from USC, Rasay from Stanford. And Hall was at McKinley a couple of the nights I was there.

Couple of players have committed for next year: Punahou’s Fey to UH and Peros to Vassar, Kamehameha’s Kaniho and Mosher to Grand Canyon.Moanalua’s Caldwell to play football, looking like either UNLV or Northern Arizona.

He wasn’t planning on continuing his playing career. Think he’s pre-med. But Vassar is at DIII and he’s happy that he can do both, school and volleyball

Good to see Kupono come out of his shell and start to play to his capabilities. All he needs is to believe in himself more and play with some attitude. He’s a gifted athlete with a high skill level. I expect him to have a great career at UH and I can’t wait to watch his progress.

    3. Was fey the MVP of the state tourney? or was it Tui?

4: Tui was MVP but Fey made the all-tournament team.

Anybody know if they’re going to post a video of the match online somewhere?

Wonder what the viewer’s rating was, if low maybe they learned from it.
