Typical UH. Sends out emailwith wrong starting time for game. responded as to error. then they sent out correction.the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

    1. As a mainlander in DC, it’s pretty common to screw up game time for a mainland event when everyone but Hawai’i and Arizona (I think) observe daylight savings time and moves our clock relative to Hawai’i twice a year. Daylight savings time just ended a few weeks ago here, so we went from a six hour time difference to a five hour time difference.

I know it’s selfish, but I kinda wish times were expressed in local time, in this case, Central Standard Time. I know I can do the math and am used to it.

But I know Hawai’i consumer advocates would say that making individual Hawai’i residents do the conversion would confuse them, which it may. And if it does do that, I’d also cut UH some slack for also being human and being confused.

    /time zone comment

I’m so excited about the game. I’m leaving work early to be home in time to stream it.

The stream is a tad frustrating b/c it’s not easily archived/recorded like a broadcast is on my DVR. It’s almost 1:00 Eastern and if my boss drops a hot project on my desk, I’m not sure what I’d do. I can’t remotely set my DVR at home. Auwe

Go Wahine. That comment from a previous blog post about Nebraska’s coach saying they want the Wahine to “experience a Big 10 block and Big 10 backline” got stuck in my craw. I hope Robyn put it on the locker room bulletin board. Nothing I’d like to see than the Wahine make them eat it.

BTW, that comment was by the Cornhuskers’ MB Stivrins.

    2. Coach Cook didn’t say it. Was their middle blocker Stivrins.
Cook didn’t come to Hawaii for beach this season. Jaylen Reyes coached the team.

  5. Cindy Luis December 13, 2019 8:16 am

    1. I was confused initially. NCAA used Eastern. Wisconsin used Central. Can see how it happens.

  6. Harvey December 13, 2019 8:24 am

    To a number of you:

Then I’d love to see Amber Igiede and Sky Williams stuff Stivrins a lot. (Thanks for the correction) How about you experience some of our block?

    GRRRRR!

  7. Connor December 13, 2019 8:44 am

Confusion is not a good excuse when your responsibility is to inform the entire rainbow nation of the game time. Neither is ignorance.

Watching the Baylor – Purdue match. One interesting side note, Baylor’s 6-6 Opp van der Mark’s family is tall. Dad is 6-8, mom is 6-3 and brother is 6-10 (and still growing). Oh, Baylor won 3-1. Marieke van der Mark led the Bears with 16 kills. Yosiana Pressley followed with 15 kills.

  9. Cheeseball December 13, 2019 8:51 am

Baylor looked good. Pressley was great as you always expect, but several other players (van der Mark, Milana, etc.) stepped up big time.

Wow Connor, relax, it’s aloha friday. Pick and choose ur battles, like seriously, is that a minor issue you want to work yourself up over? I mean to each his own. Everyone has ‘responsibilities’ that they sometimes don’t get correct, and I’m sure that in your entire life, you have made mistakes small and big too so give grace.

Washington 26-24 over Kentucky Set 2. Dawgs lead 2-0
    7. Connor not sure if that was directed at me. all i said i was initially confused because NCAA used one time zone, Wisconsin another. Didn’t say I put up wrong times. Glad you got UH to correct their email.

  18. Connor December 13, 2019 11:06 am

Cindy: Was not directing at you. Not your fault. UH sent out official email with wrong time which had to be corrected. This went out to everyone on UH contact list. They got to be more diligent in insuring accuracy. It’s part of their job description. Not an issue of everyone makes mistakes.

  19. Cindy Luis December 13, 2019 11:08 am
