Congrats to Nikki and Mags…hard work and excellence is recognized!

Next year will be a challenge with the graduation of Nikki and Annie.

Maybe we’ll see a quicker offense next year like how the Japanese teams play.

BTW, Taylor’s injury was a fracture. not serious enough for surgery and a cast so she is in a boot. Looking like she won’t play beach however

    4. Thanks for the info Cindy! Hopefully she helps the beach team as a student assistant. When she was injured during indoor season she always seemed to support her teammates and help them strategically and mentally. Great person to have on a staff.

Congratulations to Nikki Taylor and Emily Maglio on the regional recognition!

4, thanks for the update and hoping that she was able to fly home with as little discomfort as possible; airplanes and swelling don’t play together nicely.

Congrats Nikki and Emily – so well deserved. And I am sure that both would be the first to say they couldn’t have done it without the rest of the team.

Thanks, Cindy, for the further update from Nikki in your full story about the regional honors for her and Emily. And the posters called it — she immediately said she was grateful for the accolades but that volleyball is a team sport and she couldn’t have achieved what she did without the team.

What graceful comments she had about the injury’s impact on ending her collegiate sand career, looking for positives.

We know the injury must have hurt her heart more than her body, coming when it did, but to keep seeking the positive and focusing on it is the sign of a good person as well as a committed athlete.

Honestly, I believe the paradox of this season will continues to haunt us all for a very long time. The good news is that from all that has been written about Nikki Taylor, she appears to be very well grounded in family/faith. In the aftermath of suffering this disheartening season ending accident, it does not surprise me that Nikki continues to a strong role model for our kids.

    5. Taylor will not be a beach assistant. She said she will concentrate on graduating in spring and look at pro options.
she flew back with the team. something I didn’t put in the story. She said she knew immediately when she hit the court that she wasn’t going to play the rest of the night.
she said there is no blame about the injury. said things happen for a reason.

BTW both Taylor and Maglio are eligible for AA honors. they had changed some of the criteria so I wasn’t sure if Maglio could be included. but have since been told she is eligible.
