Harrison 14th in 1-meter diving at NCAA meet

Hawaii junior Aimee Harrison placed 14th overall in the 1-meter diving finals at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday.

Harrison advanced out of Thursday morning’s preliminaries in 16th place with 298.35 points. She then placed sixth in the B Final with 308.45. She improved on a 34th place finish in the event at the NCAA meet as a freshman in 2013.

UH’s Lauren Hall finished 23rd in the preliminaries with 286.5 points. Hall and Harrison will compete in 3-meter diving on Friday.


Rainbow Wahine senior Jasmine Alkhaldi finished 35th out of 58 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries with a time of 22.50 seconds. Alkhaldi will also swim in the 200 freestyle on Friday and the 100 freestyle on Saturday.
