Congrats to UH…but they’re pretty darn lucky that Cal Baptist is ineligible this year…

  2. islandman April 14, 2013 8:40 am

Sedore was terrific and so were the others like Averill .

  3. Hightop April 14, 2013 10:09 am

Hey Cindy, someone said on Volleytalk that Jane Croson did not go on the spring trip to San Diego St. because she is transferring.

    Please tell me that’s wrong.

  4. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 10:44 am

Part of me is kinda of glad BYU is their opponent and not Irvine cause I will be able to see it on TV. Hope Patch and Sander make a ton of errors.

  5. vballfreak808 April 14, 2013 10:48 am

So Warriorfan asked the question on the other thread but I kind of want to know the answer as well, will Siki or Marks be able to play for the BYU match?

  6. vballfreak808 April 14, 2013 10:49 am

I just realized this is going to suck because Hawaii will have to play at BYU three times in one season.

  7. WTF April 14, 2013 10:58 am

Digg’n na wahine put something on his blog something about jane croson. Anyone know what he is talking about?

  8. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 11:02 am

It’s okay maybe the third time is the charm and UH will shock the volleyball world.

  9. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 11:10 am

Ok there’s a volleytalk member who is saying Croson asked for her release?? I hope this is just a bunch of BS.

  10. LC April 14, 2013 12:03 pm

Well that person is doing some backing up right now but as I said yesterday something is going on with her and I’m thinking it’s academic.Lets see if she is a no show at Hermosa Beach next weekend.

  11. FeedThe Middles April 14, 2013 1:05 pm

Siki maybe…depends. Ankle sprains are hard to predict. He’ll obviously do everything to be able to play. JP will not play.

  12. mauna April 14, 2013 3:28 pm

Hard to think that it’s academics with Croson, she made the over 3.2gpa list last semester.

  13. Beauston April 14, 2013 3:48 pm

    WF-
“No proof I can divulge. I didn’t think the statement was that bold. Lol I could be wrong….who knows. Perhaps it’s just word on the street.”

This tells me nothing but BS.

  14. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 4:29 pm

Good I can’t see Jane playing anywhere else but the SSC.

  15. Purple&Green April 14, 2013 5:25 pm

    ^
End Result = the RS ends up being played by Croson moving forward (the ONLY one, in Tiegs absence, who’s skilled enough to play on #1Beach).

    .Da Brigado’s 8-| *eyes rolling*
..Wong isn’t a dummy, like some ‘others’ 😉
    …She’ll make All-Am., even still !

Shoji is an old man, yet still a bit spry.
Croson is Croson; ain’t no one changing that.

  16. Lina April 14, 2013 5:40 pm

JP Marks is done at UH?!?!?!?!
    What?!?!
Cindy, was wondering if you could share any thoughts on this.
If so, that is just so discouraging and disappointing!

  17. Alohilani April 14, 2013 5:41 pm

According to Khon2, Marks is in eligible for the rest of his career. They weren’t specific as to why. It doesn’t affect the rest of the wins that UH had last year or this year. Maybe someone knows more.

  18. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 5:54 pm

    Wtf??? This makes zero sense.

  19. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 5:54 pm

    Why is JP ineligible?

  20. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 5:56 pm

And how the heck is the french guy for irvine or the 25 year old sophomore for cal baptist eligible!

  21. rayson April 14, 2013 6:39 pm

According to earlier reports it was for something that just happened recently which is why is doesn’t affect the teams record for this year and last. But what the heck could possibly have happened?

  23. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 7:03 pm

WF, Cal Baptist is allowed to have the players who were in the program before they transitioned from NAIA to NCAA.
I don’t have the details on Marks.

As for Croson, amazing how many rumors there are about her.

  24. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 7:07 pm

Siki’s ankle still not healed. he couldn’t jump on it last night.

  25. Alohilani April 14, 2013 7:07 pm

Maybe it was a communication thing – hard to believe he would do anything intentional.

  26. X April 14, 2013 7:15 pm

What could he have possibly done? What makes a student athlete ineligible?

  27. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 7:15 pm

Seriously what could have happened? Did he sign a pro contract?
He will be soo missed, especially saturday.

Now wade needs to recruit another good foreign Outside , we can’t rely on jace (unless he improves a lot) and who knows if the freshmen Fey will be ready for primetime.

  28. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 7:17 pm

What makes an athlete ineligible? could be something as simple as what happened with Theocharidis. playing with pros. getting paid expense money.

  29. Alohilani April 14, 2013 7:27 pm

But wouldn’t that make all games he played null and void?

  30. turfwar April 14, 2013 7:31 pm

He must have signed something recently. Agents are not the most scrupulous of people.

  31. Warriorfan April 14, 2013 7:41 pm

Why couldn’t he wait until after the season?? Maybe like most of us he thought the playoffs were unlikely.

  32. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 7:59 pm

    29. that has been my thought as well. That if he’s ineligible, the team would forfeit the matches he played in. But when you look at what happened to Theocharidis, they did nothing about the record or awards other than vacate the NCAA title.

  33. Alohilani April 14, 2013 8:15 pm

Just thoughts. I’m not sure the school would have them go through the process of playing in the playoffs, would they, if he would have been ineligible like Costas. Secondly, if it is the same situation as Costas, it is very embarrassing for UH. Did they not learn the first time around? Heads should roll if administration did not catch this before Marks played last year. But to be facetious, admin will probably give themselves raises and bonuses for a job well done this year or last year. LOL!!!!

  34. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 8:59 pm

I don’t know what the issue is with Marks. someone asked what makes a player ineligible. just threw out what happened with Theocharidis.
Can we not pull out the guillotine just yet?

  35. Alohilani April 14, 2013 9:20 pm

Just saying UH doesn’t have a good track record of doing a good job but getting enormous amount of money to relocate to Hawaii. I know we don’t know what Marks situation is yet. Just saying.

  36. Cindy Luis April 14, 2013 9:42 pm

Not sure what ou mean about getting enormous amounts of money to relocate. If you’re referring to Marks, believes he has a partial scholarship. Men’s volleyball only has 4.5 to give.

  37. Alohilani April 14, 2013 9:50 pm

Nope, not marks. Never mind. I just have my thoughts.
