Hawaii will need to win both matches at Cal Baptist University to catch up with UCSB to tie for eighth place as UCSB has no conference matches this weekend or next. If Hawaii loses both matches to Cal Baptist, Hawaii will need to win all the rest of the matches this season to surpass UCSB. I see that the last three matches are on UCSB’s home court. Let’s hope for at least a split on the road.

Why only UCSB there’s still a shot stanford and Northridge will bomb out and miss the playoffs as well, UH has an easier schedule to end the season with Pacific and UCSD.
Stanford still has to play irvine, byu and long beach and they just got swept by UCSB and UCLA.
While Northridge still has to play AT long beach, AT Irvine, at USC, At Pepperdine and has BYU and UCLA at home..

Those two losses to northridge are looking even worse now, UH would almost be shoe ins for playoffs if they won those. Darn it.

Cindy, have you heard anything concerning Kalie Adolpho’s scholarship situation for next school year. Knowing scholarships are awarded on an yearly basis. Just wondering if Coach Beeman will award a scholarship to a player who only plays half the season.

Cindy I noticed the wahine Sand Volleyball roster has been updated. Some players are left off the list. Can you find out about that and where these players are? I’m wondering about Hannah Rooks of Kaiser High. She was a standout in Georgia. I am hoping she has decided to either stay with the Sand team or better yet jump over to the indoor squad. please ease my mind.

As its been said a lot rooks is a senior in high shool still!

  6. Cindy Luis March 14, 2013 11:19 am

Rooks signed to play sand 2013-14. She is a high school senior. Along with Sydney Shinn from Flordia. signings announced last month.

what other players are you asking about who were ‘left off.’

SF, have heard nothing about Adolpho. Will ask McInnis who is with the wah bkb team.
    all scholarships are renewed annually.

Cindy, while you are at it, ask McInnis, if Coach Beeman will be applying for the USC HC position, or if USC has contacted her about the position.

Like USC would even be interested in her please, they pay their women’s coach more than UH does Gib Arnold or Norm Chow.

And if Beeman decides to take Adolpho off a basketball scholarship then she is an idiot.

  11. Cindy Luis March 14, 2013 12:30 pm

no one said Beeman was going to not renew Adolpho’s scholarship. But if she didn’t, it would be her choice on what she feels is best for HER program.
It would affect volleyball however since Adolpho is a freebie against the scholarship numbers..

Brian’s a little busy, covering the men and doing a folo on the women. I’ll see what he says when he has time.

IMO it would not be wise of Beeman to take away Kalei’s scholarship not only because it would put Dave in a bind and he would have to come up with a scholarship for her late but because I think Kalei has tremendous potential in basketball. What Beeman needs to do is redshirt her next year and that way Kalei can concentrate on basketball all year as a redshirt senior.

Still, it’s between Beeman and Adolpho as to what will be decided. Besides, perhaps Adolpho doesn’t want to be in school for five years.
