Coming off her first collegiate win, Hawaii sophomore Izzy Leung leads the Rainbow Wahine golf team into the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate this weekend in Palm Desert, Calif.

Leung became the first UH women’s golfer to win a tournament since 2006 when she finished atop the leaderboard at the Oregon State Invitational with a 54-hole score of 1-under-par 215. She opened the tournament with a personal-best round of 5 under 67 on Sept. 15.

Leung was a decorated junior golfer in Hong Kong before being recruited to UH by Rainbow Wahine coach and Hawaii Golf Hall of Famer Lori Castillo. She led the Wahine in scoring average last year at 75.7 and posted seven top-25 finishes in nine events, including three top 10s.
