Lost the MPSF and playoffs. Why bother? USC is a better team. Lost in the playoffs already. My guess no help on the back court for Kenetake and Ramos, which is Hawai’i 2 shortest players. Basically as I predicted and pointed out on the 1st game of season in Outrigger classic.

    1. Okay you make no sense !

I think they can win Saturday but the outside hitters must play better, they have been making to many errors lately.

I saw this interesting tweet about Megan Huff earlier.

“Megan Huff is the real deal, super smooth for a 6’4 girl. Too bad she’s choosing to play volleyball at Hawaii, should play both at least”

I think she would really help Beeman’s team a lot , more so than Kalei.

I was just thinking, the way the outsides have been playing for the warriors, if they don’t improve maybe it’s time for Averill to play right side. He’s been awesome and he needs more hitting attempts, and he would definitely get more on the right. Although Averill is the best blocker, Holt can replace him in the middle and is a good blocker in his own right, and Sedore can move to the left side and replace a struggling Olsen. Just something that Wade should consider IMO.

And we saw how dominate, Averill can be on the right last season against BYU in the playoffs and he’s a much better player now, and he can play in the back row decently and set too.

It seemed to me that Kolby wasn’t having a good game until later in the match. Then, on the unsuccessful dig on match point, I noticed that his thumb is taped. Did he start this match with that injury?

  8. FeedTheMiddles February 21, 2014 7:30 am

Clear case of horrible strategy. Warriors recent success was due to middle attackers opening up the outsides. Just look at the statistics from the match. 96 attacks from the pins and a total of 23 from the middles.

If you have two of the best middles in MPSF why not utilize them? The USC block ate the outsides all match…block after block, then we started hitting wide and long as compensation. Never was there an adjustment…or actual coaching change of strategy!

    7. gotta pass well to run the middle
Wade was on Bobby’s show this morning. said it was odd match when each team had blowouts in a set
He also said that a lot of guys didn’t come down to breakfast. Trainer told him a number of them were sick, mostly stomach and headache stuff.

  13. Cindy Luis February 21, 2014 10:01 am

    1. not sure what you’re saying. I don’t think the season is lost but they do need to get a split. As Wade mentioned on the radio this morning, it’s going to be a battle for spots 4-8 with up to 9 teams in the mix. said it could easily go down to the final week where tiebreakers could mean a team hosts a first-round or doesn’t make the playoffs.

  14. ClawsBeatSkin February 21, 2014 10:16 am

    1. I can understand you fully well–in wanting to, perhaps, being key.
Outside of being addressed lastnight and AGAIN this morning (w/ more knowledge having come forth over the radio), I’m unsulliedly disagreeable with “USC is a better team”. The two are about evenly matched; with a shorter setter being at UHM.

It sure has taken McKibben a while to get himself going on the Men of Troy though.

  16. Cindy Luis February 21, 2014 6:30 pm

14 Said I was going to chat with them this week. Just got back from doing so today. Today’s practice was 3:30-5:30.
