All-Big West teams later today
Conference expected to release teams around 9 a.m. HST. may or may not be able to get it right away. Have an appointment at 8:30 a.m.
Someone asked on another thread if the Big West had changed its procedure to use the AVCA’s new voting procedure. Big West reply was No.
What the Big West did do was have its teams announced on Monday as opposed to the original release of Tuesday in order to get the teams to the AVCA for regional voting.
New AVCA voting procedure:
All member head coaches can now vote for the players they feel are most deserving of the award, but cannot vote for their own players and must vote for a total of 14 players specialized by values listed below:
5 Outside/Opposite Hitters
3 Middle Blockers
2 Setters
1 Libero/Defensive Specialist
3 At-Large Selections
All coaches voting might be a serious mistake. I see nothing good coming out of this change
I wonder who is responsible for voting for Big West Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Freshmen of the Year? The same as for All Big West Team?
